DAYS 2–3 | VANCOUVER/VICTORIA
Explore the gardens and trails of Stanley Park; then take to the cobblestone streets of Gastown. Later, board the scenic ferry to Victoria. The next day is free to discover this charming city and its waterfront. Go to a museum, enjoy high tea, or opt to set out by Zodiac boat in search of gray whales, orcas, and other marine creatures.
DAYS 4–5 | WHISTLER
Catch the ferry back to the mainland, and enjoy a scenic drive to Whistler, co-host of the 2010 Winter Olympics. At the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, join an indigenous guide on an interpretive forest walk, and take part in a tea ceremony. Spend the following day exploring Whistler and its environs on your own. Stroll through the village, opt to ride a gondola up the mountain, or go hiking, or zip lining through the rainforest.
DAYS 6–8 | BLUE RIVER/JASPER NATIONAL PARK
Follow a route once marked by gold prospectors. Enjoy the views at Kamloops Lake, an oasis amid an arid landscape, and the turquoise Seton Lake, a freshwater fjord. Arrive in the small community of Blue River. The next day, cross the Rockies into Jasper National Park. Watch for wildlife on a float trip down the tranquil Athabasca River. Spend the following day at leisure: opt to hike to Maligne Canyon, or rent a bike, or canoe, to explore on your own. Join fellow travelers for an unforgettable soak in Miette Hot Springs.
DAYS 9–10 | LAKE LOUISE
Wind past coniferous forests, glaciers, mountains, and alpine lakes along the scenic Icefields Parkway. At the Columbia Icefield, step foot on the lower Athabasca Glacier with an expert guide.
