DAYS 1–3 | MEXICO CITY, MEXICO

Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer is included. The next day, discover Mexico City on foot. Opt to visit a museum, or tour the murals of Diego Rivera. Tour the pre-Aztec ruins of Teotihuacán, and opt to visit the Torre Latinoamericana skyscraper, or catch a Mexican wrestling match.

DAYS 4–5 | MEXICO CITY/PUEBLA

Take a sunrise float through the ancient Xochimilco canals. Visit the Frida Kahlo Museum; then continue to colonial Puebla. Attend a pottery demonstration, and enjoy free time to visit a market, take a food tour, or discover the Great Pyramid of Cholula.

DAYS 6–7 | OAXACA

Visit an artisan community to learn about alebrijes—wooden folk figurines. Discover the culinary delights of Oaxaca, and taste local dishes in a family home. Tour the Zapotec ruins at Mitla, and visit a mezcal factory.

DAYS 8–9 | OAXACA/MEXICO CITY

Opt to explore the Monte Albán ruins, visit a cultural museum, or learn to make mole. Fly back to Mexico City. Depart at any time the next day.

DAYS 4–5 I MONTEVERDE

Enjoy a nature hike in the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve. Visit the Monteverde Institute, the base for numerous National Geographic–funded explorers, and attend a conservation talk by one of the on-site researchers. Opt to visit a butterfly garden or go zip lining, or horseback riding.

DAYS 6–7 | MANUEL ANTONIO

Continue to the Pacific coast, and enjoy an afternoon to go surfing or horseback riding, cruise coastal waters on a catamaran, or visit picturesque beaches. Venture into Manuel Antonio National Park to seek out monkeys, sloths, and some 350 bird species.

DAYS 8–9 | SAN JOSÉ
