Although Winter Party was born in 1994, the first edition produced by the National LGBTQ Task Force was in 2005 - exactly 20 years ago. We have two decades of unforgettable memories that have helped fuel social change in LGBTQ+ communities both near and far. From dancing under the stars to extravagant brunches that leave us not just refreshed but profoundly connected, these moments recharge our spirits and send us home with enduring joy and a call to action.
Our history is etched into these dance floors, spanning cities, states, and countries. For generations, circuit parties have been more than celebrations—they’ve been lifelines. They’ve offered spaces to find each other and, often, to find ourselves. The Winter Party Festival carries forward our legacy. It’s not just a party; it’s a movement.
For those who’ve joined us before, you know this week-long symphony of music and movement is part of what unites us to celebrate, connect, and honor the joy that fuels our strength. Together with the National LGBTQ Task Force Gala, thousands of volunteers, supporters, and partners, Winter Party donated over $4 million to LGBTQ+ advocacy and organizations, especially here in Florida, where the fight for equality grows more urgent by the day.
We would be remiss not to highlight why Winter Party Festival remains a thriving cornerstone of queer culture as one of the last remaining community-owned circuit parties. Part of the answer lies in the very ground we gather upon. Florida—a state where hateful, anti-LGBTQ rhetoric is rampant and harmful policies are piloted—has
become a testing ground for authoritarian strategies designed to suppress our existence. Historically, the policies that take root here are then exported to harm other communities.
Yet, Florida is also home to some of our boldest and most fearless leaders. The energy you feel during Winter Party—that electrifying joy coursing through every beat of the music and every step of the dance—is not coincidental. It is the energy of local activists and leaders who have infused this ground with their work, passion, and courage all year long.
With this knowledge, don’t just revel in this powerful energy. Harness it. Use it to build queer power alongside us, so our impact can continue to fuel transformative change here in Florida and beyond.
This year’s theme, “Dance Revolution”, playfully nods to childhood nostalgia with neon hues, leg warmers, and retro vibes, but it’s also a call to action. It reminds us of our power, our legacy. So, dance. Dance to honor the journeys that brought you here. Dance for those who came before and those who will follow. Dance to declare: we will not be erased. We’ll be back, stronger than ever. And so will you.
Kierra Johnson President National LGBTQ Task Force

We are thrilled to welcome you to Miami Beach for what promises to be an extraordinary celebration of unity, love, and the transformative power of dance. This year’s theme, “Dance Is Revolution,” speaks to the heart of what makes Winter Party Festival a truly unique and powerful experience.
Throughout history, dance has been more than just movement—it has been a form of resistance, liberation, and social change. Our community has long used dance as a way to break down barriers, challenge norms, and create spaces where we can truly be ourselves. When we dance together, we don’t just move our bodies; we move society forward.
This year’s Winter Party Festival honors this legacy while creating new moments of revolution on the dance floor. Our world-class lineup of DJs and performers will guide us through a journey of musical liberation across multiple venues, culminating in our legendary Beach Party on the sands of South Beach. Each beat, each rhythm, each moment of connection reminds us that when we dance together, we become part of something bigger than ourselves.
Beyond the dance floor, Winter Party Festival continues its mission of supporting the LGBTQ+ community through the National LGBTQ Task Force. Your participation helps fund critical initiatives for equality and justice across the country and right here in Florida, proving that cele-
bration and activism can move hand in hand. Winter Party began in 1994 when four community leaders decided to throw a one-day beach party for South Floridians to raise money to fight a statewide anti-LGBTQ initiative. Thanks to you and thousands of people like you, it has grown into a week-long fundraiser attended by over 10,000 guests from around the world and has raised over $4 million.
None of this would be possible without the steadfast support of the City of Miami Beach, especially the Mayor and City Commissioners, who continue to embrace and champion our Festival. Their commitment to inclusivity and diversity makes Miami Beach the perfect home for Winter Party Festival.
We are also deeply grateful to the incredible Task Force staff, our dedicated Festival Committee members, and the countless volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Their passion, creativity, and commitment transform our vision into reality and make Winter Party Festival an unforgettable experience for everyone.
Whether this is your first Winter Party or you’re a longtime member of our family, remember that you are part of a revolution—one that started long before us and will continue long after the music fades.
Thank you for supporting Winter Party Festival and welcome to Miami Beach! Let’s make some incredible memories this week!

Winter Party Festival is the ultimate LGBTQ celebration—vibrant, sexy, and unforgettable. Known as the friendliest party in the world, it’s more than just an epic celebration—it’s a vital fundraiser fueling the fight for freedom, justice, and equity for all. Hosted by the National LGBTQ Task Force, Winter Party blends electrifying nights of dancing with a shared commitment to fostering care and connection within our community.
Each year, we are honored to partner with a network of affirming health, education, social service, and harm-reduction organizations dedicated to supporting the well-being of our community. The amazing groups partnering with us to make Winter Party a safer space are recognized on the opposite page.
While we’ve set the stage with your well-being in mind, community care is a shared responsibility—a balance between the care we give ourselves and the support we offer each other. As you celebrate, we invite you to embrace the spirit of Winter Party Cares by keeping these essential health and safety tips in mind.
Protect yourself and others by staying informed and making safe choices. Complimentary condoms and lube are available at the Welcome Center and throughout the festival. Consider PrEP, an effective HIV prevention option. For more information, look for our PrEP partners at various events throughout the festival. And remember that condoms remain essential for reducing the risk of other STIs. Stay safe, informed, and enjoy responsibly.
Endless dancing and drinks in the sun can be a fiery combo! Keep it demure and hydrated by alternating cocktails with water. If you use substances, know what you’re taking and understand the risks. Mixing substances can be dangerous. DanceSafe will be onsite to offer support and guidance, so don’t hesitate to ask. Avoid high-risk substances and stay alert to the dangers of unknown drinks or offerings. Never party alone, utilize the buddy system to ensure everyone in your group stays safe. Make choices that keep the good vibes rolling.
Miami’s sun is no joke, with intense UV levels shining for 12+ hours each day. Protect yourself with sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses, and a hat. Stay energized and hydrated by aiming to drink at least 8 oz of water for every hour you’re in the sun. If you’re feeling off or notice someone who needs help, let the nearest staff
member know. We’ve got your back! ParaDocs medical staff will be onsite at every event. If a friend has had one too many, don’t leave them alone—help is always nearby.
Care is a collective effort—stay mindful, enjoy the music, and celebrate boldly with pride!

Join us at one of Miami Beach’s most beautiful settings for our annual Winter Party Festival VIP Cocktail Reception. Socialize with the crème de la crème of people in our community -- leaders, celebrities, influencers, and other VIPs -- while you discover more about the National LGBTQ Task Force’s work and impact. This cocktail-style event features an open-bar, special entertainment and remarks by Task Force President Kierra Johnson. We hope you will join us as we honor former Task Force staff member and Winter Party Festival Co-Chair Lisa Mercado, a longtime activist in the South Florida LGBTQ+ community. The VIP Cocktail Reception is truly a magical evening where we are reminded of how important fundraising is for the Task Force and all of the organizations it is currently supporting and those to come in the future. We hope to see you all there dressed to impress and, more importantly, to cause an impact.
Lisa Mercado is one of the unsung heroes who played an enormous role in building the National LGBTQ Task Force’s Miami fundraisers (Winter Party Festival and the Task Force Gala) into the legendary celebrations that they are today. We are thrilled to recognize her contributions to the Task Force and to the LGBTQ community at the 2025 Winter Party VIP Cocktail Reception.
Lisa’s association with the organization began when she volunteered to help with the 2005 Beach Party, the first one produced by the Task Force. She joined the 2006 festival committee as the Director of Women’s Programming, launching several events geared toward women, and organized the LGBT Family Picnic. She served as Winter Party Festival Co-chair for the 2007 and 2008 Festivals, becoming the first (and only to date) woman to chair the Festival.
Lisa became a Task Force staff member in 2010 and worked tirelessly on both Miami events for nearly a decade. During her tenure, she developed and implemented systems and practices that were integral in growing both events. Her incredible work ethic and her appreciation for and partnership with our volunteer leadership played a crucial role in the growth of both events.
During her time with the Task Force, Lisa also served on the board of directors for one of South Florida’s leading organizations for the LGBTQ community, Pridelines. She left the Task Force in 2019 to join the Pridelines staff. Through her connection to Pridelines she participated in the SMART Ride for six years, helping to raise much needed funds for HIV/AIDS organizations.
In addition to her work with the Task Force
and Pridelines, Lisa has also worked and volunteered with other community organizations, including SAVE, Aqua Foundation for Women and YES Institute.
Lisa lives in Miramar with her wife, Lisa Spinosa, and her cat, Martin.

When the National LGBTQ Task Force assumed responsibility for producing South Florida’s two major fundraisers in 2004, the organization agreed to maintain their place as a stream of funding for the local community. From 2005 to January 2021, the Task Force donated close to $3.6 million to The Miami Foundation’s LGBTQ Community Fund. Over 80 organizations serving the South Florida LGBTQ community received grants during this period.
In 2022, in the wake of the passage of Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill, the National LGBTQ Task Force, The Miami Foundation and Our Fund Foundation came together to evolve The Miami Foundation’s LGBTQ Community Fund into the LGBTQ+ Equity Fund to support and strengthen South Florida’s LGBTQ+ community and respond to timely, urgent community needs. The three groups work in concert, with input from expert advisors in the field, to make decisions about the issue areas to address and the grantees to award. The Fund’s strategy is to be responsive to the ever-evolving issues that impact the prosperity and health of the LGBTQ community in South Florida. It seeks to use resources to strengthen the infrastructure that allows LGBTQ+ organizations to advocate for their well-being in
a time of enhanced political divineness.
Since 2022, the Task Force has donated $440,000. The Fund has been very proactive in raising additional money from other donors and a total of over $1 million, including the Task Force gifts, has been raised from a variety of sources, and the grantmaking has grown every year..
Over the last three years, the Fund has provided over $840,000 in unrestricted support to 20+ organizations working at the intersection of the areas of highest need - youth education, trans health, advocacy, housing - in support of LGBTQIA+ communities in South Florida.
In 2024, the Fund awarded $350,000 to 12 local organizations providing collaborative, responsive housing support and supportive wraparound services for LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults. Additionally, funding was maintained to provide critical support to statewide and local research and advocacy work related to LGBTQIA+ rights.
Join us and the more than 20 local funding partners which includes corporations, foundations, families, and individuals in supporting the immediate yet, growing needs of the LGBTQIA+
We extend a heartfelt thanks to our Leadership Council members for their continued support of the Task Force and the Task Force Action Fund. Leadership Council members make an annual gift of $1,500 or more and give the Task Force the flexibility to build grassroots LGBTQ political power across the nation. If we have inadvertently omitted or incorrectly listed your name, please contact Jacky Goh, Chief Development Officer, at jgoh@thetaskforce.org.
