Do the Galapagos Differently with Nat Hab Dear Traveler, When you are in search of Earth’s most amazing nature destinations, you’ll find none as unique as the Galapagos Islands. Within this far-flung archipelago, 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, wildlife developed without outside influence—resulting in species found nowhere else! This phenomenon, of course, intrigued Charles Darwin when he visited the islands in 1835, inspiring his theory of evolution. We, too, are captivated by these creatures, from 600-pound giant tortoises and inquisitive bluefooted boobies to swimming iguanas, diving penguins and lively sea lions that do barrel rolls around us as we snorkel. Our ship-based adventures take you deep into this wondrous world, more intimately and with more insight, than any other Galapagos tours you will find. What sets a Nat Hab Galapagos experience apart? • Our exclusive itineraries are designed to unveil the most diverse and fascinating collection of the islands' wildlife. • Our groups are the smallest—just 14 to 16 guests—guided by two Nat Hab Expedition Leaders. • Our naturalist guides are the finest in the islands, holding the highest-level national park certification. • Aboard our luxury private yacht, the Natural Habitat Petrel, and our other privately chartered vessels, you’ll encounter what others miss while enjoying exceptional personal attention. • Spend a night at Nat Hab’s private Tortoise Camp, where you’ll sleep in the midst of wild tortoise habitat—and see them up close as well. I hope to see you in the Enchanted Isles!

DISCOVER THE GALAPAGOS

ON EXCLUSIVE ITINERARIES WITH NAT HAB & WWF! There may be no nature destination on Earth as unique as the Galapagos—and no one gives you a more personal and insightful encounter with the islands than Nat Hab and WWF. Lying 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos is home to a host of animals found nowhere else. And they are totally nonchalant about our presence! Playful sea lions frolic in the water with us. Giant tortoises are blase as we study their wizened faces. Blue-footed boobies look at us quizzically as we say hello to their fuzzy hatchlings. It's as if we have discovered a menagerie from an ancient Eden. With Nat Hab's naturalist Expedition Leaders at the helm, our Galapagos adventures immerse you more intimately in this wondrous realm than any other way to explore the archipelago. Choose a yacht-based smallgroup trip, including those on our privately chartered luxury catamaran, the Natural Habitat Petrel, the sleek Tip Top IV, or the smaller, sportier Nemo III. All Nat Hab trips include an overnight stay at our private Tortoise Camp in the highlands of Santa Cruz.

THE FINEST GUIDES IN THE GALAPAGOS WITH THE ISLANDS' BEST GUIDE-TO-GUEST RATIO

Holding high-level certification from Galapagos National Park, and often with advanced degrees and scientific research experience as well, our naturalist Expedition Leaders are some of the top guides in the Galapagos. They have access to training resources and materials from WWF to enhance their knowledge. What's more, they give you exceptional personal attention. While the typical ratio on most Galapagos tours is one guide for 16–20 travelers, our ratio is one for every 7–8 guests. This means we can offer a variety of activities for different interests and ability levels. With two Expedition Leaders, you get a full interpretive experience: a Nat Hab guide accompanies each small group when we go exploring, so you don't miss out on any information or insight. Compare these important details, and you'll discover why the Nat Hab experience is superior.

SMALL GROUPS MAKE A

BIG DIFFERENCE When you discover the Galapagos with Nat Hab, you'll be with no more than 14–16 guests. And since we travel with two Nat Hab Expedition Leaders, you'll have even more personalized attention. Hike, snorkel, kayak and cruise in a panga in an intimate setting, with more naturalist interpretation than you'd find in most other settings. Small groups allow us to explore in a quieter context, and wildlife is most comfortable with fewer people around. This makes a big difference to your experience! And our environmental footprint is lighter, too.

In the highlands of Santa Cruz, our private Tortoise Camp is set in lush reforested Scalesia forest, native endemic habitat for dozens of giant tortoises. Although rustic, Tortoise Camp holds surprising comforts. Accommodations are in two-person permanent tents on raised platforms with large windows, or in charming treehouses with real beds. Each treehouse has an en suite toilet and small sink, with showers available in the shared bathhouse about 50 yards away. The six raised tents have a small sink plus private en suite showers and flush toilets. Dinner and breakfast are prepared by the camp chef and served in the covered dining room. The adjoining sheltered lounge offers seating by a crackling log fire, while the bar is a convivial space for evening drinks and socializing. Learn More: nathab.com/tortoise-camp

Inca city was mesmerizing, even in its dereliction. Built on a granite mountaintop close to the sun, its intricate architecture reveals the ingenuity of its 15th-century designers. Massive blocks of stone were cut to fit together so precisely that no mortar was necessary. The site also reflects the Incas’ extraordinary knowledge of astronomy, with many elements aligning with heavenly events such as the solstice sunrise. Far below the ruins, the Urubamba River rushes through a green gorge into the Sacred Valley. Our journey into the mysteries of Inca civilization also includes Cusco, once the gold-laden capital of the empire. 22

SUPPORT GALAPAGOS CONSERVATION WITH NAT HAB & WWF Nat Hab is proud to partner with WWF to support crucial conservation work in the Galapagos. Famed for its wealth of unique plants and animals found nowhere else in the world, these islands were the source of Darwin’s theory of evolution and remain a priceless living laboratory for scientists today. Illegal fishing, non-native species and pressure from more than 160,000 tourists a year threaten this irreplaceable ecosystem and the people who depend on it for their food and livelihoods. WWF spearheaded conservation efforts in the Galapagos more than 50 years ago, including funding the construction of the Charles Darwin Research Station. It has played an integral role in protecting nature in the Galapagos since, working extensively on protected area management, conservation policy, environmental research and education. A portion of every Nat Hab traveler’s trip cost supports WWF’s work in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
