Welcome I

have always had a passion for natural hair

and the transforming effect that it has on the woman who embodies it. Being an African- American woman, I fully understand the importance of hair to a woman and how it affects her confidence and daily lifestyle.

As a stylist transitioning from Los Angeles to Charlotte, I made it my mission to shine a light on the natural hair movement. I wanted to help women who were suffering from hair loss and wanting to make the transition out of relaxers.

We have built our business one client at a time, and it gives me inspiration and motivation to see women who I have grown from dry brittle hair caused by relaxers, to their beautiful healthy natural hair that they were blessed with.

With this collection we are celebrating natural hair and the versatility that it offers to the lifestyle of every woman. You can rock it curly or straight and still be naturally beautiful.

What kinds of styles can I wear while transitioning?

There are many beautiful and healthy hair styles that you can wear throughout your transition to natural hair. Spiral sets, flat twist sets, two strand twist and coil sets will give you beautiful natural looking curls, or if you prefer straightened looks, try the California press.

What is a California press?

The California press is a unique pressing technique used to straighten natural hair. It leaves your hair silky, bouncy and soft to the touch.

It’s healthy and chemical free.

How long will it take to grow out of my relaxer?

It depends on your length, but usually about a year.

Average hair growth is about 6” inches a year. With patience and a commitment to healthy hair you will be relaxer free in no time. It’s so gratifying!

How do I maintain my hair while making the transition?

Salon visits every two weeks.

Protein treatments, trims, deep conditioners, keeping your hair moisturized between visits with light oils (like virgin olive oil that you use for cooking and all natural coconut oil). Sleep with a satin bonnet at night, pin curls are good to keep curls with body and don’t use heat in between visits.

If you are working out, you should lightly pin hair up and away from your face and neck.

Use a blow-dryer to dry sweat off your scalp. This should avoid sweating out your hair style.

What is a “Big Chop”?

It’s when we cut your relaxed hair down to your new growth. We call it freedom!

Do I have to cut all my hair to go natural?

Wearing your hair in its natural state is a hard decision for some, but many women will tell you it is worth it. With patience and guidance from a licensed professional, you can grow your relaxer out at your own pace without making a drastic cut.
