The buzz around town is it’s going to be a busy tourism season, maybe the biggest ever. “The season,”as it’s commonly known, kicked off Memorial Day and will run through Labor Day weekend. While the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council won’t have statistics based on collected bed taxes to release until July, Santa Rosa County has begun tracking the number of vehicles crossing the Navarre Beach Bridge.

Ground was broken on a new community center for South Santa Rosa County on May 31, with local and state officials as well as community representatives on hand to turn dirt onto a site already showing signs of progress. “This is a huge step for Gulf Breeze and Navarre,” said Santa Rosa County Commissioner Lane Lynchard District 5. The coming Tiger Point Community Center will be nestled within the Tiger Point Park and Recreational Center and right next to the playground area. But, the community center will be a very serious deal. “This is long overdue. District 5 is the only district in Santa Rosa County without
