Here we highlight our beautiful range of Aquascape external products. These are being used by homeowners and professionals alike including landscape architects, garden designers, and developers.

Lateral Design Studio is a family run company with 30 years experience in the construction industry. We specialise in combining unique designs with cutting edge technology to turn functional construction products into art. We use only the best materials and work with quality assured British manufacturers whenever possible.

Our beautiful covers are available in stylish & modern stainless steel, smart & natural Jonite stone composite or classic & sophisticated cast iron. They can be used on driveways, patios, balconies, gardens and in urban landscape schemes; adding a designed element to:

Our modern, stylish stainless steel covers are precision made and come in ten designer options. They replace ineffective slot and unsightly plastic or galvanised steel ‘ladder style’ designs which scar every project.

Our 304 grade stainless steel is 70% recycled (316 grade also available) and comes in a standard brushed finish, beautiful bespoke designs and other metal finishes are also available. We can provide co-ordinated gully and manhole covers providing a seamless look for your project.

Our experienced team will work closely with you to ensure your chosen design, material and finish is fit for purpose and complements the aesthetics of its surroundings.

Jonite is an international company that supplies ethical composite stone channel covers, providing a smart and seamless look.

Their products are made with a minimum of 30% recycled materials and as such are green label certified. They also have a lower water absorption rate than natural stone, which means the covers maintain their colour when in contact with water. Seven designs are available in eight sophisticated colours.

Jonite products offer durability and sustainability, combined with the sheer beauty of natural stone. As the exclusive U.K. distributor for Jonite, we can now offer green label certified stone composite products ranging from tree grates and manhole covers through to street furniture.

Pictured: The natural look of Jonite stone composite makes it the perfect partner for your landscape and pool projects, in both residential and urban schemes. These grates have a low water absorption rate of just 0.5%, meaning they’re superior in this environment to natural granite. This means your covers will maintain their colour when in contact with pool water, unlike natural stone. These quality channel grates are available in widths of 190 – 300mm with both straight and curved edges.

Our cast iron range draws on our rich heritage to produce traditional pieces in classic designs.

In addition to our cast iron channel grates, we can now offer a wide variety of products which epitomise those pieces produced by skilled craftsmen of yesteryear. Curved Grates The sweeping lines of our curved grates will provide your project with a softer look when it’s needed. Here we can see an example of a curved channel grate in the highly popular “Interlaken” design, which surrounds and finishes a central water feature. These can be provided with frames, and bolt down fixings for added security.

Street Furniture The rustic artisan charm of cast iron has been extended into a range of street furniture which is perfect for private gardens and open spaces. The range includes benches, bollards and bicycle racks. These curvaceous “Spak” bollards are made from heavy duty cast ductile iron, they can come in a powder coated finish and feature a tamper resistant fastener for fixing securely.

Green Credentials All of our covers have recycled content. Aluminium is one of the most cost effective recycled materials being used in construction. The stainless steel we use for our covers has a minimum of 70% recycled content, our cast iron covers are 100% recycled, and our Jonite stone composite covers (pictured) are made with a miniumum of 30% recycled materials.
