. The year that rocked 3 the country and maybe the rest of the world as hard as that earthquake in February did. That gave us quite a scare didn’t it? What with all the false Tsunami alarm that caused so much frenzy in the City streets. Well, it goes to show that we somehow, would really run for our lives. I thought that was it. Then came the never ending Spratly Islands Standoff. If you read the news, or watched it, you’d know. But that wasn’t it. We were still stuck with that debate over RH Bill, the K to 12 Implementation and the passing of the controversial Cybercrime Prevention Law that angered not only the Philippine netizens but those who cared about Freedom of Expression both in the Philippines and other countries who took part in the fury over RA 10175. We made headlines didn’t we? Still, with these issues, all that happened, came to pass with other students completely not having an idea what they were all about. This is where the challenge lingers for the campus press. To inform. To educate. To give the students what they ought to know and how it would affect them as students, and as part of the youth sector. So came the posters at the bulletin and online. So came the constamt brainstorming of what should be included on the pages of these magazine that aims not primarily to entertain but to inform and to give you different perspectives of what matters in pictures, in words, in illustrations that made onesemester’s worth of hardwork and paperwork and rejections of one kind or the other for both me and the members of my team. In behalf of the NB team of writers, artists and fellow editors, this, my dear srudents, all 105 pages of it, is FOR YOU.
In the service of the students and the people, APRIL AGNES GALADO Editor-in-Chief

was high school when I got to know NB when my sister brought one copy at home and I said “one day people will read my stories.” From that first thought, I was then a hopeful Nation Builder. While I was wishing for a huge quest in college, which we all have, I held on that aspiration by simply crossing my finger.
And now, I have been part of this publication for years, I’ve never felt so complacent in my life especially when I got the position as one of the “inchief’s” after 3 jam-packed years. But being an AEIC doesn’t mean that you can always have every student’s attention and support. Considering that you have a smaller office, inadequate resources plus limited people and inevitable pessimisms, it was a bigger challenge for me and to the editorial board to level the expectation of our staffs and audiences. All through those years, we never stop in searching for ways to pleased you by our advocacy-THE VOICE OF THE UNHEARD. Some of those attempts did fail but for some reasons the feedbacks and the encouragement that we get from you give us strength to provide excellence in each NB Magazine. It was indeed worth the sacrifice. From the four corners of the NB office, I didn’t just learn how to play with words or how to process papers but I have also learned the value of a team and how those experiences matter to me for as long as I live.

SSG Supports 1st LGBT Organization in CTU-MC 10
By: Fritz Anderson Cruda
SIT IN PRIDE: LGBT members took a step towards gender equality.
T
he CTU-Main Supreme Student Government (SSG) appointed a committee to organize the first LGBT organization, Pink Ribbon Society (PRS), in its goal to empower students belonging to the LGBT group on June 20, 2012. In his first step to diminish gender inequality and discrimination against students, Umpad appointed a three-personnel committee. The said appointees will organize a meeting to form an organization for all the gay students in CTU-MC. The organization is called The Pink Ribbon Society (PRS) that aimed to empower students belonging to the LGBT group by helping in the SSC’s activities. Umpad adopted this idea to create a powerhouse of organizing committee that would hopefilly satisfy students’ expectations. This is one of the highlighted projects of the SSG to unite all the students by first stripping away discrimination in the campus. “After PRS is completely organized, we will start reaching out for the general Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgenders (LGBT) group,” said Umpad. He also added that this is the "chance for these people to show to the world that they are worthy of respect and should be treated with equal rights as human beings." He also emphasized that

fluids from those automated water machines ome students our age spend too scattered everywhere in the grounds. You can set much; some just simply don’t, and for aside a lot rather than consuming the bottled ones what reason still most people of this in the canteen because it’s costly. Don’t worry, generation is faced with certain spending it had undergone purification and distillation issues. Is this allowance enough for 3 weeks? You processes for sure. are confused more importantly when it’s about how you’ll be able to spend and save as well Now you can lower your expenses on during the entire school days. When budgeting is food when in school. really needed to be tight you have to think about certain options that can aid you whether you’re Supplies inside or outside the University premises. It is one alternative where you’ll be able to find solutions why it’s important to spend and Gadgets don’t belong here! But why at the same time it’s also critical to envelopes, yellow pads, pentelpens, folders do. put aside something. Days don’t run without even dropping a single coin at your palm since anytime these stuff can be required by your Business Communication Teacher or that OJT Grumbling stomach administrator. Attending a 7 am class Purchasing these things in the nearby Mall or would be a torture for anybody Bookstore doesn’t even have to be a problem. Prefer those who has not yet taken breakfast. that cost a smaller amount especially, if you are for large But since strict instructors hate quantities. But if you’re in a hurry and going outside the late-comers, early CTUnians would college grounds will cause you trouble, then just look for stalls prefer to eat somewhere in the inside but assure and check the price first and you’ll seethe campus shortly after dismissal. But difference. you have to be cautious in selecting the kind of meals you buy; it might just ruin your weekly plans. Exams or quizzes might come unexpectedly during the whole week so be ready for a hundred-item test and of course the paper itself is also necessary! You can eat well without even spending that much. If you don’t have enough budget for the Paperworks morning break and your tummy starts to grumble, try choosing healthy stuff like Everyone hates this. You could really biscuits, fruit juice and avoid soft drinks! It tell how frustrating this is, but even if others do doesn’t just cut down your expenses of the not, you will still do everything to print those day but it also causes hyperacidity. pages as long as you can submit something to your Research subject. Well, gone are the times when If you are really longing to eat rice, you almost had nothing after spending so much in go ahead no one’s stopping you; of course we the internet café for its printing costs. all need that. It’s wise if you’ll bring some, in school through tight lunchboxes and zip locks. Printing lately has never been this It’s better if you do that, at least you’ll only cheap as they’re becoming student-friendly. At spend less in buying siomai or beans. least we can now rush quickly to printing services offered inside the campus that offer paper jobs not Since no one wants also to get really pricey as your dangling bracelets. And before hydrated and choked the whole day, it’s even I forget, the library, can also help you save some more convenient if you select to drink
Microsoft related works and 18 Internet too (30 mins.only) So, will you still dash outside? Aside from that always do a re-check on your documents before letting it be printed. It would be a colossal waste of time if you’re not sure if that piece of file is worth an A to any of your Class teachers who required it. Encode and check everything. Payment Dues PaymeAnother disappointing thing for almost half of the student population especially in times that there is really no budget left allotted for it. Culminating Activities, project presentations, purchase of Manuals have deadlines for its charges. CTUnians just like me, would be confused what to prioritize first knowing almost everything is important. During the start of the school year we are paying tuition, medical and other fees required by the institution and here comes the preceding months of August, September and October which are also hypothetically hectic. You have to remember at all times that tight budgeting is always needed during the entire school year. I guess it’s something we need to be aware at every single day, because even Teachers, Security guards and Office Assistants are into this. Spare something, even if those are only coins. It doesn’t mean if you have enough money right now, you will have something to use in the future. Believe me, what you can save now, will go far in the next upcoming months since they can be very useful when busy days arrive. Only spend if you think it’s really worth, but if not don’t think twice, think about it all over and over again.

ootball or Soccer an international game in which the ball must be driven towards the opposing goal without the use of the hands; in exemption to the goal keeper. A famous team game across the world. By: Jessamen Gutierrez
“Life is short. You only live once, but when you live it right, once is enough.”

Many accidents were reported. Many were injured by means of fracture; a broken or dislocated bone. Or even death. This game is commonly played by men and also by women as the quote says; “What men can do, women can do better.” Schools introduced sportsfest or the most familiar event, the Intramural Games. Students are able to choose what type of sport to join. Medical examinations were conducted to make sure of the athlete’s health condition before playing. Students with issues regarding to their health are asked to submit waiver/ permit signed by their parents and guardian that allows them to participate even with such condition. Passion. That is what a close friend of mine told me. She continued playing her passion even with a very serious condition. She disregards any sign of weakness. A brave girl, a witty student, a compassionate teammate, a sister, and most of all, a Friend. Brave. You can never find a single part of her that says; “I give up!” She plays soccer because she is happy with it. Contentment is in her eyes and happiness is among team mates and coaches. Inspiration. The most wonderful word to describe a strong feeling to pursue such actions. She is Bianca Marie Sayson, a former BSHM student in CTU. We call her “TipToe”. She had a slender body, quite thin to be honest, yet a very powerful “Forward” or “Striker.” You can never see hopelessnes but a glowing eyes that hungers of being a victor. This year, friends from the different colleges fight for victory not just for their unit but for TIPTOE. A memory of an amazing friend lingers in our mind and heart. So BIANX! This one is for you. Keep playing, keep fighting, keep glowing, wherever you already are. Date of Birth: February 27, 1992 Date of Death: June 21, 2012

hey are there: on the movie shows, on commercials or advertisements, on the radios, on the novels, on other literary prints, at school, on the workplace and even at home--the roles of becoming a real man or being man socially are roaming over and popping out everywhere. Sets of prescriptions: the ways to act, attitudes to have, & ways to look; and postcriptions-: the ways not to act, attitudes not to have, & ways not to present oneself, that are tend to be numerous and tougher as we, men, begin to open our wings and welcome another doors to our life stage. These so-called male self-presentation methods are coined by the anthropologists and psychologists as male gender roles, that encompasses a multifaceted social and behavioral norms considered to be socially fitting for males. Expectations that are fixed and crafted by the societies, since they are not at ease anymore with the simple biological traits we acquired. Hence, they associate these traits with complex psychological qualities that are used to force men to tie into. Moreover, limits and shapes their attitudes and behavior, one way or another.
That is, society says, for a man to coin 26 a real man, He: himself Should be rough and tough. He must not show any signs of weakness or vulnerabilities. Likewise, must not show any frail emotions. A real man does not cry, besides that tears are feminine, crying is a sole act of wimps. Must always geared up to fight. He-himself, should maintain an image of being fearless. Moreover, he should never recoil or draw back from any physical combats. He must make others fear him or praise him if better. Must choose careers that are deemed to be manly. Such careers are engineers, doctors, military, managers, marines, or business men. Must have no eye for what women thought to be as beauty. Do not have a purse for vanity products or at the least, do not go ‘gaga’ on choosing the right pairs of jeans or spend much time on taking a bath and doing rituals like what ladies do. Must not do any ‘girlie’ jobs, like cooking, washing dishes, sewing, decorating or any other ‘girlie’ household works. Is expected to have hobbies of going to bars, smoking, ‘drinking like a fish’ or consuming liquor heavily, fast driving, playing rough outdoor sports and having a ‘spicy’ or ‘peppery’ appeal to the ladies. HOT! Roles that while go haywire, also go abound and are explicitly and implicitly broadcasted time to time and on and on. Hobbies, men have to pursue or take the role of, but harm him and bring forth negative effects on his health. Set of behaviors that pushes men to restrict and compel themselves to live, to think and to behave in firm acceptable customs and encourages them to be unemotional, logical and practical, as if they are computers. Roles that does not only press men to reject their feelings and desires, to see such behaviors as unbecoming but also, do convince them to believe and follow what the society has set to them, since these would likely get them in trouble, be mocked, be ridiculed and the worst be bullied by those narrow minded people if they would not. Roles that turn a man so ‘green’ to illustrate what men do and avoid what men do not do. And with this quest of social manhood, experts says, “A man will tend to respond by distrusting his feelings and going by the gender
roles, when a conflict between the so-called roles and his true nature arises. That is, sooner or later, men will learn to forget to pin their ears on their feelings and eventually, will become a stranger of their individual identity far isolated from their real homes. Just like slaves, they will waste their entire life, trying to meet the gender expectations that are indubitably impossible to do.” Roles and expectations that indeed, harm a man’s life aspects: health, relationships and happiness. And do stop him from being a human instead, in such number of ways.
What does it really mean to be a man?
Real men don’t have to be rough and tough. Rough and tough stereotype portrays men as collectively violent and aggressive. That is, this prospect sees men somewhat like a Tyrannosaurus Rex who are out to get women. However, many men by now choose to be advocates for women’s rights and gender equality. Somehow, these men come to realize that something other than being a predator makes them as real men. Real men are emotional. In traditional communities, male emotions are considered as masculine, a lot through prose and poetry. They are even encouraged to be emotional. And because of this, there exist great poets, novelists, philosophers and the like. Real men do cry. They are because men also have feelings and emotions. Like any other human being, they do feel petrified and uncertain; they do experience hurts, pains, discouragements, and frustrations and so do own vulnerabilities. Moreover, crying does not signify that a man is weak; rather shows, that this man knows that a straightforward display of emotions does not threaten his masculinity. Besides, there is nothing wrong in crying, nothing shameful or embarrassing. This involuntary response to things that releases tensions makes a man more human instead. Real men do house works. The so-called ‘real man doesn’t do house works’ stereotype, one way or the other, tells that ‘women are meant to be in kitchen.’ But a real man must understand that it is not fair for the women to do all the house works; the cooking, the washing of dishes, and all of the childcare, when they just doing nothing at all. Doing things that are not supposed to be a man’s forte but woman does not dwindle a man’s masculinity.
Photo by: Mark Joe C. Ra単en
Real men are brave enough. Instead, of going into the gender roles, a real man must have the courage to confront whatever stereotype presses him to believe with. That is, if you want to propagate and evolve as human creature, you have to overcome those gender issues and gender roles. A man must put in mind that, there is nothing real about locking his feelings and getting out on his dreams and desires. Having practice the behavior of compelling oneself to cry and of showing off feelings would rather gives way to negative acts like violence, hostility, rage, self-destructive behavior and even regret and might cause a more increase and rapid spread of murders and crimes. Stop. Look. And listen. Find traits that do not tally for what the society broadcasted on you to be a real man, but do captive your nature as a human.

to be righteous. Righteous in the sense that it is endorsed by their favourite stars, else often seen during commercials.
Building names or creating political brand names will prove the efficiency of money. Brands on which people recognized, associate with a certain quality, trust to some degree, and prefer over non-branded names. The process is familiar to any shopper. You go to store looking for bread. On the shelf, like the ones on a T.V. commercial are branded name and a brand X are being compared. Branded name costs a little more, but you choose it, ostensibly because it is better, but actually this is because we recognized the name. The process for political brand names is about the same. The voters will definitely choose the brand they believed
It has been a stereotype that whoever bears big names in the society will attains control or power in election. We coined this practice as political dynasty.
unning for public office in the country has always been very expensive. One has to shell out millions in order to win. They will not mind the costs as long as they can assure a position in the government office. Thus, it became a trend that those who have the financial resources will always gain the upper hand.
Nevertheless, despite the high prize of launching a candidacy, thousands would still vie for elective posts during elections because winning would result to having a great power and influence. That is why the urge to run has been seemingly irresistible for those who have the resources to wage a winnable campaign.
As stated in the 1987 Philippine Constitution, Article II Section 26, “The state shall guarantee equal access to opportunities for public service, and prohibit political dynasties as may be defined by law. However, politics in the Philippines has been under the control of few notable families. It is
29
normal for a politician’s son, wife, brother, or other kinsman, to run for the same or other government office. Even a new born baby is entitled to have a position as long as he can reach the right age. They can easily acquire a higher seat compared to those striving aspirant commoners. Sometimes, it is getting to the point where we want to do what is right and hope for a future but we are also downgrading folks. People are fed up. Promise after promise but nothing set in stone. Questions are not answered, perspectives are sketchy and some people already gave up on their hopes for equality. Economic growth in the Philippines averaged 4.5 percent during the MacapagalArroyo administration (January 2001-June 2010). Despite this growth, poverty worsened during her presidency. The Aquino administration is currently working to reduce the government deficit of 3.9 percent. Recently, the Philippine economy has been growing steadily over decades and the
International Monetary Fund in 2011 reported it as the 45th largest economy in the world. However its growth has been behind that of many of its Asian neighbors. As of 2011-2012, Philippines is the third country who has the highest rate of unemployment. The number of Filipinos without job settled at 2.814 million according to the Bureau of Labour and Employment Statistics. Unemployment areas are higher in the NCR (11.3%), Calabarzon (9.7%), and Central Luzon and Illocandia (both at 8.5%). Thousands of Filipinos remain homeless. And we still depend to the foreign countries. Furthermore, these issues still remain as an intriguing talk of town. People should have done their research, added the numbers and see what could benefit them. They must have prior knowledge to whom they will cast their votes, because the votes has something to say for the future. Graft and corruption, poverty, and the like can be eradicated if and only when we can build a strong foundation. Photo by: Jose Angelou Sadagnot

Outstanding abilities are the core of a student’s life, the reason why someone like you exists in this academe. CTUnians indeed, carry some values which are being developed by the institution and perhaps, will later be applied in the industries when they’re already exposed. Listed below are not just vital aptitudes, but exceptional channels were students stand out on to survive the challenges of a school year
ENERGY AND WILLINGNESS – Success depends not so much on talent as on energy and willingness. It is not possession of splendid talents that enables us to render acceptable service but the conscientious performance of daily duties, the contented spirit, the unaffected, and sincere in the welfare of others. (Prophet and Kings)

Students should place themselves in channels where self-knowledge and selfdiscipline is challenged and obtained. They should consecrate and associate the significance of their ability to become a diligent and a responsible one. Encouraging the students to read literatures are descriptions of being a promising one. They
Our competency usually ascends over time as we acquire more information and ability through investigation, experimentation, observation, participation, cooperation, and inquiry.
Competency is a skill and knowledge that allows us to achieve something. It is also a skill to picture out the ability to apply experiences in a new situation with good effect and effort.
C O M P E T E N C Y
In seeking the right possible things to happen – guidance in recognizing these students should be renewed and evolve current in literature and practices to identify every individual aspects so that as the result, they could show off their own abilities.
We knew from literature and some researches that people who display these attributes and privileges are most likely to excel and expand when the development process for them is matched with their personal profile. This would be the experiential ideas with connections between important ideas and leads to a better world of change.
C ONSISTENCY
The said education which is the Christian Education must not be left out in the outer ground of the students nowadays because our world today seems like full of difficulties, tragedies, and temptations which may really affects them so.
We’re all Christians because we do believe and follow Christ works according to our every individual traditions and doctrines.
Fidelity is the ability of being truthful to ourselves, being honest, upright, modest, sincere, earnestness, and decent in our dealings towards other people and also known as of being faithful or loyal.
F IDELITY
Students; should not give up your shortcomings and failures, should not blow the incident out of its proportion. It should remind you to be uplifted even in times when you feel so down.

Whatever abilities you possess mentioned above, it is still up to you on how you can develop it and make it as a channel so you can help out others have one.
Students should go forth from our school with educated efficiency, so that when they thrown upon their own resources. They will have knowledge which they can use without of being dishonest but only integrity. In which, the student s therefore can seek a needful to success in life.
To the students, the healthful exercise of the whole being will give an education that is broad and comprehensive. Every student should devote a portion of each day to active labour in also to develop integrity.
Outreaching integrity requires a lot of internal honesty because we can’t be honest with others unless we are honest to ourselves.
Integrity is the ability of being whole, complete, undivided, sincere, and consistency of character.
I NTEGRITY
Students who have never been made a success in the temporal duties of life will be equally and emotionally unprepared to engage higher duties towards their future.
P ERSISTENCY
Persistency means the ability of pushing yourself towards a goal even when it takes time or things might get tough. We work for it as stepping stones. This is to test us on how persistent we are when faced with challenges and trials in life.
Otherwise in the school, Christian Education should not be neglected or pulled out of this particular subject in every institutions curriculum. With sufficient energy and fidelity, students should meet the demands upon them and this will be a guarantee of achievements.
precisely reflect on their own belief. These have led them back for development of the mission, and vision, in their lives. Besides, even though there are lots of differences regarding the students still they have in their own ability - they tend to think positively that they can achieve their goals in life.

añana Habit or Procrastination is something that we have learned from the Spaniards. The word “mañana” means tomorrow or specified future time, also known as procrastination in plain English, mamaya na in the Filipino dialect. Mañana habit works like for example you need to do something now, but then you decide to do it later. As a result of the delay, you end up not doing it. Then tomorrow comes. The same cycle happens.
According to Fiore Littauer the author of the book Personality Change, this habit is a pattern of behaviour which is acquired through frequent repetition. If there is no amount of planning or preparation nothing can be done to change this. For us students, this behaviour is practiced because there is lack of planning and preparation done, as a result some students would have a failing grade. Procrastination or mañana habit can be easily avoided if students engage themselves in proper planning of their
daily doings and activities in school and at home. A student needs to know when he is doing the task, where and why. This can affect the students’ punctuality, because from what is observed, students tend to do the easiest tasks. For example when there’s a big job to do and a long list of things to be accomplish in order for that job to be done, the tendency is to work on the simplest task. As long as the items on the list are getting done, it feels like it is being completed,
33
and the procrastinator lulls themselves into false sense of security.
Poor performance in school: Failing an exam, because the student waited the night before the test to begin studying.
This approach becomes a problem when all the easy chores are done but there isn’t enough time left to complete the hardest task because they were put off until last. And the consequences are disastrous, as follows:
Irresponsibility towards others: Failing to keep promises because they kept getting it put off until later.
Missed Deadlines: From failing a school assignment by not turning it on time.
These things happen and affect mostly to students who are irrevocably attached to maĂąana habit, because we are not organized in their daily activities in school and at home. Remember, we are always bombarded by task as the days passed by, so better yet prepare a daily activity check list.

eople often judge a person through physical appearance, and the way they handle themselves is a part of the criteria. More often than not, with our natural instinct as a human, we are all afraid to be judged. Then you try to look at the mirror to figure out what is that problem in you: Flat nose, pimples , blackheads, dark skin complexion , being overweight and... okey, lets include the universal problem, “money”. Then a question was fabricated in the innermost corner of your ego, “Why am I like this?, if only i have that, if only I have those, If only I am like them, If only...” With this, obviously, you are insecure. According to the Canadian Intermediate Dictionary, insecurity is the act of being unconfident; not sure of oneself; feeling of fear and anxiety. When worse comes to worst, you will blame no one but your genes, sometimes your parents. My friend, that is not their mistake or even your fault, We come to realize how
confidence played an important role in our part being a student, and because of which we want to share with you six (6) useful tips on how to get out from the gigantic tail of insecurities. 1st - Recognize your insecurities.Talk about it with a friend, yet do not refuse to accept compliments gracefully, for this just goes to show how concern your friend is you. Hence, this compliments will only make you a better person. Moreover, this will make you feel light knowing that there is that someone who is willing to accept you for who you are amidst your weaknesses. Oh wait! do remember that whatever happenes and whatever will be happening, your family is always there for you. They are your biggest fans so keep smiling. 2nd - Bounce back from your mistakes and try to practice positivity, instead of wasting your time thinking about what you have lost and
37
what you have done, why not identify your success and be proud of those. Remember, not everyone can make it like what you have done. 3rd - Be thankful for what you have. Maybe you dont have much money, you dont have the great appearance being a human, then who cares? As long as you have your loved ones, you are happy, who cares. 4th - Stick to your principles and stand by these. You are who you are and no one can take that from you. You can do what ever you want and can do whatever makes you happy. That is life, Live it! 5th - Avoid perfectionism and believe that you are fantastic inevery way. Always face life with confidence and courage. Remember that we are equipted by different guts and we are great
in our ways. Neglect negativity my dear friend, as long as you have your heart beating strong, as long as you have your nostrils working fine, as long as the blood in your viens are still flowing active, you will breath, you will live, and you will be at your best. Finally, number 6, live by this cliche “ We are all beautiful except in the eyes of those who are insecure. Be glad if someone is wasting their time in putting you down because this simply means you are above them. Perhaps that particular place is where they are meant to be, always behind you. So cheer-up! because insecurities reign in an ugly face, of an empty brain. And we both know that you are not one. Smile. Live life to the fullest. Cartoons by:

ith matching colours of dirty white plus navy blue, the latest uniform of CTU-Main Campus gives a decent and neat impression to others. It is said to label the pride of the University which was recreated with brand new designs and is considerably favourable to the studentry because of its new “look”. The school uniform was released before the semester began and some were already wearing it attending their classes respectively while others are still sticked with the old one. The Campus Security Officers have also started to implement policies regarding the Uniforms by giving deadlines and assorted rules just to assure that strict discipline will be followed towards the school year. So are we all ready to welcome a new found trademark? Well I hope so; because this is just one part of the Institution’s on-going technological transformation which will bring out competitive engineers, hotel managers, teachers and nurses soon. 38
Impact to the Academe When it comes to school uniforms, it is already known that everyone inside the Academe is required to wear it since it represents the entire University. As a CTUnian you must be proud to wear the said school attire not just within the school premises but more importantly when you are representing the Campus regarding significant events held outside. People will not just be able to identify how good you are in Algebra or in Science but they will be able to picture out your sincerity and loyalty to the school itself. A Uniform signifies a trademark to every University or learning Institution it symbolizes probably something that makes it recognized and differs with the other. Once it is worn, you have to take responsibility upon bringing its image. Although in every college department there are respective uniforms required to be worn, you are importantly obliged to wear it whatever area you belong to. Just like any other school paraphernalias such as Id’s and COR’S, a uniform is a must; one of your foremost permits upon entering the University grounds. During the start of classes, some strict Instructors and teachers are already requiring it establishing a policy that without wearing the prescribed school uniform, a student will be marked absent regardless if there’s really a valid reason. This is also one way to maintain the Institution’s progress and advancement in the present time until the upcoming years. As a student we have to understand some policies such as this, this is for our own good and betterment as CTUnians. And as the previous years pass by, it is a prize to wear a Uniform that continues to uplift our morale, something that motivates us to inspire others on our quest for quality Education and training.
Without a school uniform, we will be hardly identified. Every student must know how to value its importance. It may not be as necessary as the basic needs of life, but it is as critical as your grade printed in sheets. Distinction among the previous Uniforms In the aim to become better, we went through different phases of transformation. Our old uniforms which are in the colors of red, blue and brown had various types of designs. These designs were good enough to be pleasing in the eyes but it still caused some circumstances to emerge. Assorted designs created confusion among the crowd especially to those who aren’t part of our university. Even our own students had the hard time distinguishing what design is to be followed. Students of different universities do not recognize our uniform as well as the other schools simply because we don’t have consistency in our uniform design. It seemed like having no permanent identity. The release of the new design of our uniform was a big step for our university. It was a make-over worth making because CTUnians or not, the majority liked it. We have gained not just the attention but also a new and pleasing identity for our university. What the students say If the uniform matters to the teachers, security guards and other staffs of the university, it mostly matters to us because we are the people who wear it. We usually crowd the gates during Monday mornings, doing some last-minute dress up and preparations. Before stepping inside the gate, the boys fix their ID’s and their uniform shirts, while girls fix their shoes, neckties and ID’s. This shows that students have reluctance in wearing their uniforms because they have no interest in it. Aside from multiple designs, girls of our university had a particular problem with the contrasting colors of our previous uniforms. Yes, we looked like smart associates and witty interns but the said uniform didn’t satisfy the fashionconscious types of gals around the university. Even the boys had their say about the item. They stated that the material of the uniform feels uncomfortable because of its fabric and color. Opinions may have flooded but one fact stays: Students have no choice but to wear their uniforms. Even if they do, it’s always better to have a uniform that will signify their unity. It’s not just for the reason that having no uniform would let you use up your whole wardrobe, but it’s all about the pride and valour the students and the university gains. Wearing these uniforms would indicate that we are set apart from others as a CTUnian and as successful people of the society. It would be an image of our pride among the people’s minds so we should be proud and stand by its name especially right now with its new found trademark.

I hate to love you back By:JJB
I hate to love you back ‘coz those white lies that You’ve given to me. I hate to love you back, ‘coz of those mistakes and faults That you’ve shown to me. I hate to love you back, ‘coz I’ve seen my world so crashing down. I hate to love you back, ‘coz your smiles turning to frown. I hate to you back, ‘coz just like the sunshine is fading away And now, I’ve seen you begging me to stay. I hate to love you back, ‘coz now again your down on your bended knees.
A Girl Can Dream If only I could tap you once I’ll treasure every seconds you glimpse But what a nightmare that never granted Into a love that has been concealed You’re just a mere fantasy That gave me a hearts detonation You opened my heart and left it away And now that I’m mortally in abortive I want you to please seize this pain away!
I hate to love you back, ‘coz you’re begging me not to leave Without the sign of peace. I hate to love you back, ‘coz you broke my heart Which was built so perfectly. I hate to love you back, ‘coz I sobbed, cried and got Hurt so badly. I hate to love you back, ‘coz I’ve seen you again Saying the word, “I’m sorry” I hate to love you back, ‘coz I’m still feel so worried. I hate to love you back, But it may never ever been done‘coz now, you’re already gone

Mirrors of you
BY:Fritz
In your world, no one like me exist Your Lord is not well He might get mad sensing your presence And he’s not inviting prayers for he’s long been deaf and blind. But no worries, Let me hype you with a sonnet Just lay low and I’ll sing you a story Of a child you had a walk his mother’s burial. He wanted to shed a tear but all he can make was a silent sob “No more mirrors,” he said For they’re coming to get me “No more mirrors cause I see you instead of me” Let me take you In a place that’s visible only in shadows Prepare your cloak and take my hand I’ll sing you a lullaby for eternity. My friends are already preparing your bones. As the child found a long forgotten church All drenched in mud and lost in time, As the inverted walls twisted and opened A hall of forgotten, you’ll be pleased No mirrors in that place of sleep Now child, wear these old robes And rest for awhile. I’ll prepare a feast, grandeur and royal For the arrival of you is such a rare event. Let us dress you with satin and dance for in your presence Such a beloved lad, You are the chosen prince to replace our Lord.

By:Melvin S. Ello BSIT III-5 I was all alone So it was like a doom Emptiness in my room A silence in my phone So I wrote this poem Instead of song That can shake your bone And hits your soul It is really hard to think A word to fill as quick My brain as dumb as dead My life was isolated Sometimes I am broken and damned sick But still I can stand like a walking stick Cause I live my life with no regret I am tired and dead, yet i can still breathe Discouraged but still inspired Invaded but still vindicated Waiting the time to revenge But still those things in my mind will be suspended Cause for God, to forget and forgive is a great gift A bright light was then lighted A new one was created This poem was ended, As wicked as isolated Add me on facebook: melvinello@yahoo.com Filosophers_5@yahoo.com

t was a wonderful Saturday afternoon, when Andrea was driving far out on a long and lonely road when one of the tires on her car went flat, and she don’t have any idea how to replace it. She got out immediately and looked at it helplessly. It was at least five miles back to her town, and she had no idea how many more miles it might be to the next one. She took a deep breath and looked at the highway. Suddenly, she noticed a huge truck rushing towards her. It was coming with high speed that she had to jump to get out of its way. The car shuddered and the ground trembled beneath her feet. For a moment, she sure felt that she was going to be blown away.
I
“That careless, selfish. Stupid driver,” she continued mumbling. “Thinks he owns the whole road, what business does he have to drive that fast anyway? If I were a policeman, I’d had him over to the side and fine him plenty. I’d take his license away too, so he could never drive again, that’s what I’d do to him. The roads would be safer if men like that were in jail.” “And now, my tire. How am I ever going to get it fixed?” Andrea cried. A moment later, she heard a strange sound and she looked back. It was the truck now slowly backing on her way. It kept on backing until it was a few

meters away from her car; then the driver jumped out and ran towards her. Andrea felt impressed as she saw the man, with his tantalizing eyes. He was tall, fair and handsome. “Evening ma’am, flat tires?” he asked her with confidence. “Err, yes” she replied. “Well, if you’ll just hand me you keys to open the trunk of your car to get the spare. I’ll see if I can change the flat tire,” he motioned his left hand and to her and she handed her car keys. In next in no time, or so it seemed to Andrea, that handsome truck driver just jacked up her car, removed the flat tire, and replaced it with the spare from her trunk.
She fumbled in her purse for something to pay him, he straightened up and wiped his hands saying, “Oh, no ma’am,” he objected. “There’s no charge I’m just glad to do it.” “Uhm, by the way I’m Jacob. I came from a town of Florida. Nice to meet you ma’am!” he took a gently head bow and smiled to her. She looked at the guy and smiled back to him and said, “I’m Andrea.. (Shakes his hands) and it was nice to meet you too Jacob,” “By the way, thank you so much Jacob for the help, you’re such a good and handsome guy” Andrea added. “Oh, thank you so much Andrea, I’m just really glad that I could help” Suddenly, as he moved his arms Andrea noticed something around his arms. It was blistered and bleeding. “Excuse me, what happened to your arms,” she asked him. “It’s nothing, there was just an accident and it exploded right directly into my arms and i was rather badly burned. I was rushing to the hospital to get some help and then I saw you looking stranded here so I made a stop and manage to help you.” He said to her. “Well, I’d better be going now. Bye!” He climbed up his truck and started the engine and began to drive towards the nearest hospital. Andrea fell so quietly, thinking and standing in front of her car for a long time. Finally, she whispered to herself, “Oh my God! I am very sorry. What did I do?” “Oh no! How could it be? What kind of person am I? I can’t imagine that I cursed him not knowing that he is badly injured,” she thought. Tears falling apart in her eyes as the blue sky slowly fading away, the stars shone brightly as the breeze comforted her cheeks. Andrea can’t believe on what she had thought to that guy. She went and stays on her car, thinking so deep and felt so guilty about her assumption and she kept on imagining Jacob’s face.

y body froze as I was looking at my own body which was laid on a hospital bed. It was connected to a lot of tubes. A heart monitor beside it beeped on a steady pace to show that I was still alive and breathing but why am I standing here looking at myself? Later on, a bright winged creature appeared beside me, this must be an angel. The angel held my shoulders while I was looking at him intently to recover from astonishment that I felt. The moment his hands touched me, we disappeared into pure nothingness. I can’t see where we are heading or what was happening. Only the blinding lights were describable at that moment. I blinked and to my surprise my feet landed on the vast fleece-white clouds. The angel paused for a moment before he opened a big Golden gate embedded with precious stones and pearls. I followed behind his back as I was about to enter the gate like he did, my body grew heavier and I couldn’t take any step further. My legs tightened like it was blocked from below, I looked downwards and saw a short, bald guy. He was literally blocking me! He held my legs tight with both of his hands. I was about to push him aside when I caught a glimpse of his nameplate which says, ‘PETER HAVENGUARDS’. I was stunned as the thought sank on me. He was St. Peter, the guard of heaven! I can’t get over the fact that he was short and bald. I’ve expected someone like a quarterback superstar, someone strong enough who can guard the gates not someone who was wearing brown slacks, white long sleeves with matching golden tie and pointed leather shoes. He’s more like a salesman to me. The guy cleared his throat and let go of my leg. He looked up to me with a smile. “Sorry about that. Welcome to Gate 9 and I’m—“ “Yeah. You’re Peter Havenguards-“ I said as I pointed his nameplate “The guard of heaven right?” I continued with a huge grin etched on my face as I tried to
hold back my laughter. “Yes and No.” He answered. He saw my confused expression and so he continued. “Yes I am Peter but I’m not a guard.” He said calmly. I tried to understand why he isn’t a guard when he’s standing by the gate and blocking people. He doesn’t look like a guard house keeper either. He must be important. “Are you the Head guard then?” I asked. “Having the word ‘guard’ on my surname doesn’t make me one. I am here to show you around and to assist you if you’re going back to earth or not.” He explained. “Whoa! Really? You’re going to show me around? That makes you a tour guide then?” I asked once more then I burst out into laughter. He whistled to something but I was preoccupied to look at what it is. He called me then I looked towards his direction. I was in grave shock and fear. There was a big bulldog beside him. It was not just a plain bulldog for it has two heads and it also has wings. It even looked angry all the time which made it look scarier. “Hey, Chad! Meet the guard of heaven, Bully.” Peter said while caressing the dog’s back or was it really dog? “Bully, uh nice to meet you” I hesitated but Peter had a go-on-he-wont-bully-you expression on his face and motioned for me to go pat the beast. I did so, but the moment my hands felt him, I pulled it away. “He’s one fluffy thing isn’t he? Chad?” Peter asked me. “Yeah he sure is. Can we proceed with the tour now?” It was my turn to ask him. “Okay, follow me.” He approved and I followed him just to get away from the scary bully. We walked ahead, then the clouds were slowly fading away, revealing a golden floor as I go on farther. Peter showed me a big room which was divided

into two sections. The first section was full of busy angels. They were busy catching and piling something like a bubble that wouldn’t pop. “The first section is the request area.” Peter said while pointing at the busy side of the room. It was very opposite of the other. The other side was very quiet and the few angels were giving bored looks trying to keep themselves awake. That side catches bubbles every ten minutes. “The second section is the appreciation area.” Peter said briefly. “What are they catching?” I asked him, and then I turned to point the second section. “And why aren’t they as busy as the other?” “They’re catching prayers from earth. Obviously, only few people appreciate the answered prayers that’s why the angels on the second section are bored.” He replied. “Oh I see.” How amusing, people on earth must learn how to be appreciative so angels won’t be bored. We continued to walk and we stopped in front of a modern white door. We went inside and I saw a lot of towering paper piled up. There were also big printers which were operated by more or less than twenty angels. “This is the Info room. What’s your name kid?” An angel asked me. “Chad Noel Dixon, sir.” I answered. A minute passed then he gave me a very long paper. I read it and I was puzzled. “My List of Sins? Peter what is this paper?” I asked Peter who was also amused on watching the printers. “Oh that. It’s the complete list of the sins you have done on earth.” He said. “What? I don’t remember flushing my brother’s fish
when I ran out of water in the toilet!” I protested. “Everything is recorded even if you don’t remember it.” He answered me in an as-a-matter-of-factly tone. “Really? Do you have Surveillance camera around Earth?” I gave him a quizzical look. “God’s eyes are good enough to see what is hidden inside a person’s heart.” He gave me a genuine look of reassurance. “Well, can I ask God why I am on a hospital bed before I came here? I really don’t remember what happened to me.” I told him. “Sure you can talk to him but before that, we have one more place to go.” He said. We continued to stroll into the hallway with a golden floor. A green double door carve with Spanish accent, caught my eyes. I stopped right in front of it and held its knobs while Peter rambled about how he remembered the forgotten piece of bread. He didn’t seem to notice me and when he did he shouted. "Chad! Don’t open that door!” but it was too late. I was already inside when he shouted. I was amazed at the room. It was a huge courtroom. There were two angels in black suits. They were on a trial discussing the worst sin of the man sitting in front of them. He was charged guilty. “No!” the man shouted but the two angels didn’t listen to him The angel glimpsed at me then he cried “Next!” I looked around to see whose next but nobody is in except for me. “Are you Chad Noel Dixon?” one of the angels in suit asked me. “Yes, why?” I replied. “You’re next. Sit in front!” He said as he glared at me. Another four angels moved over to me
holding handcuffs for each of my hands and feet. They grabbed me and they were about to pin down me on the chair when Peter arrived and hold them off. He explained my situation and when they let me go, I frantically ran away. My heart was racing from all the panic as I felt when I ran out from the courtroom. Peter caught up with me and scolded me about my recklessness but he let it off and continued walking. About ten minutes later, we stopped by a white door. It has the same design with the Info room, only it was a lot bigger this time. Peter opened the door and we went in. Big flat screens flooded from all the sides of the room. In each screen there were different videos were playing. Peter gestured me to sit in an area where a wide screen was placed in front of me. Peter talked to the angel-in-charge then a video of a girl started playing. “Watch that closely, that will be your last task.” Peter ordered. “What is this room and who is this girl by the way?” I asked Peter while pointing at the skinny girl on the screen. I was half amused and half confused but I still enjoyed being in this room though. “This is the Record Room. You don’t need know her name but you need to watch her so you’ll learn.” He answered. The skinny girl walked slowly along the road. People passed her but she just had her head fixed on the ground. She was very disoriented. This went on for about fifteen minutes. I rubbed the back of neck then I covered my mouth which produced a stifled yawn. I looked up to see Peter but he was still absorbed in watching another screen. I dragged my eyes back at the girl who was still walking slowly. This started to irritate me. I held the sides of the screen and leaned my head closer. “Don’t you have something else to do with your life?” I asked while fighting the urge to shout at her. As if she could hear me through the screen. I really wished she could. For a moment, my wish was granted. She stopped her petty walk and started to run towards the park. Then she arrived at the front of a tree near the swings. She stood still, staring at the words that were carved on the tree. I focused my sight on it but it was too blurry. Five minutes later... I took back that I was fascinated. I took back that I enjoyed because obviously, watching a girl stare into space for ten minutes is very exhausting and boring. 72
I gripped the sides of the screen once more and asked, “Couldn’t you do something more interesting, huh?” However, it was a fruitless attempt. She just continued to idly look at the tree. What else could I do? She can’t even hear me. This is plain boring video and I’m full of it. I buried my face to my hands due to frustration and finally an idea popped in my head. “Peter, do I really need to do this task?” I asked him, hoping that he would give me another task. “Yes, why?” He furrowed his brows in confusion. “Can I switch another task with someone else? I just don’t think that I can keep this because...” I trailed off, searching for the right words to say. Should I say, ‘because I’m overly bored’ or ‘because I am already annoyed? ’ I opened my mouth to say something but Peter cut me off. “Oh you want a switch? I only have two options.” “Really and what’s that?” I answered with a voice full of relief. “One is this.” He paused to point all screens and to point at me. Then, he held my gaze before he continued. “And option number two is by the gate, where Bully waits for you to give him some food” He said to me with a big grin. A hint of amusement crossed his face when he saw my reaction. Terror, surprise, fear and frustration instantly lit up inside me the moment he mentioned feeding Bully. I’m not sure what kind of expression was written on my face but I’m certain of one thing, I’ll never choose option number two. “So, you’ll switch and take number two?” Peter asked, pulling me out of my reverie. “N-no! I guess I’ll manage watching here” I panicked blurting out a stuttered response. “Ok” I sat back at my chair holding up both of my hands to my forehead. What a useless idea. “No.” The girl on the screen spoke for the first time. She caught my attention especially when she started to sob like a lost child. She looked so vulnerable and fragile. It made me want to envelop her into a warm hug so I can comfort her. I felt a pang of guilt in my chest, knowing that all I could do was to sit and watch. Suddenly, a man offered her a handkerchief. At first, she was puzzled but when she looked up to see who it was, recognition flashed in her eyes. She took the hanky and resumed crying on it. “Hey Leila, calm down. It’s going to be alright. It will be okay soon.” He patted her shoulders.
73

“How can I calm down if they’re going to give him up by the end of this week? I can’t even stand at the thought that he’ll die we because took the chance away from him.” She wiped her tears and continued. “I felt even worse because if I fight for him, I’ll still lose because I don’t have the authority like his parents have.” She cried. The man sighed and said, “Your boyfriend is--” “Fiancé.” Leila corrected. “Right. Your Fiancé is in a coma long enough for everyone to see that he’s not coming back. Even the doctors indicated that there’s no hope anymore, Leila. Isn’t it clear that it’s just the machine that kept him breathing?” “I know! I know!” “Then, let him go! Just like we did.” He demanded “Never. You know that I love him. I can’t do what you’re asking me.” “Ugh! For goodness sake, Leila let him go! He’s never coming back! Live your life for the ones who are left, for us and for me. I’ll always be here. In fact I’ve always been here but all you see is him. Even right now that I’m beside you, I am invisible to you.” “Yeah? So this is all about me not seeing you as more than a friend? Is this the real reason why you want me to let him go? Answer me Hans!” She shouted to him but the man only stood still and casted his head downwards, so she continued to speak. “Well, shame on you! He has his head before the mouth of death but all you did was took advantage of his death to gain me. Are you really his best friend?” “But Leila this is also for your own--” “Stop. Just stop. I know you aren’t here to fight.” She said in a stern voice then he nodded. “What exactly are you here for?” She inquired then the man pulled out his phone and punched some numbers on it. He held out his phone to her and said, “Your mom asked me to find you. She’s furiously worried. Talk to her.” She took the phone and waited for the other line to pick up. “Hello?” a woman with a hoarse voice answered. “Mom.” “Oh Leila darling, it been a long time I haven’t seen you. You should get home now.” “No mom they’re pulling out his tubes this weekend and I cannot stand watching it.” “Really? It’s good then, I’ll be expecting you next week.”
“Mom, there’s nothing good about it.” “Darling, believe me there is, you’ll be home back to normal and you’ll stop ruining your career.” “Why is everyone telling me that his death is good for me?” She exclaimed. “Because he’s making your life a big mess and--” She hanged up, cutting her mom off. Then she started to cry again. She gave the phone to Hans and she ran weakly towards the park’s exit but he caught up with her and held her on the shoulders. “Where are you going Leila?” He asked with a fraction of irritation in his face. “To the place where my heart belongs. It’s only him who can understand that if he dies a big part of me dies also because he has my heart with him.” “But--” He tried to protest but Leila spoke again. “I know it will be so much painful but at least there is peace by his side because I know he only has me in his heart. And honestly, I’d rather waste my time to wait for a miracle than hearing you say how messy my life is right now.” She ran away then the screen faded to black. Animated angels that were hopping appeared on the screen. “What? Wait. That’s it?” I asked Peter. “Yes. How do you feel?” “It was...wow” I answered but my chest felt heavy with all the emotions swirling inside me. I felt pity, hope and admiration for Leila’s strength but at the same time I felt ashamed about whining on my tasks a while ago. I realized that I was too shallow unlike Leila who stayed brave despite of her grief. It made me want to help her. “You should tell God about how you feel and what you want.” Peter suggested I was about to answer him when the blinding lights covered me. I was forced to close my eyes and when I opened them, I was summoned in front of a golden throne where a crowned man sat, sated in very bright lights. A giant tree was on the far right of the throne while a huge book was on its far left. I shivered in his presence especially when he spoke to me. “My dear child, do you wish to tell me how you feel?” His voice was deep and gentle. I focused on his face but it was too bright make out any facial feature. Surely, there’s only one man this great, God. “Yes Lord.” I replied then told him how I exactly feel.

he soft comforting crust covered grass of the earth served as my cradle as I faced the sky with eyes that gazed hungrily at the stars, admiring them silently. Watching them made me wonder on75how it would be nice, that after facing my final stillness, I would become just like them. Forever glowing and never gone, a watchful eye in the night. I smiled at the thought and breathed deeply as my eyes again studied, recognizing everything that surrounds me, then I closed my eyes still smiling yet a painful smile for breathing now is an agony but for the persons I love, I have to be strong. I tried to smell the earth, tried to feel it, to feel the smoothly trimmed Bermuda grass under me. Then I heard the soft whispers of the wind as it goes dancing around the tree, I heard them, I could hear the rustling voices of the leaves, the soft creaking of the trees as it goes swaying with the wind. But aside of this overwhelming quietude, I could also hear the yielding murmurs and buzzing of the insects. I sighed, out of contentment, of satisfaction. Though I know that at this moment I am facing the ghostly pathways of death. I tried to savour the life that is around me, for somehow, It had made me feel lively again, when the illness that had enslaved me continuous to drain the remaining life in me. But then this sensation of serenity slowly fades away and replaced with the eerie moaning of death as it summons me to its unfathomed depths. Yet I fight as I’ve fought. I fixed my mind to all my senses as I tried to find it, that vast feeling of calmness, of life. I tried to listen intently till I found it, till I heard its soft whispers of promises of life. I breathed slowly,
afraid to give a sigh for I might let go and fall to the abyss and I can’t, just not yet. For there’s still one last thing to do. Mark touched my face, tracing my features gently as if I was as fragile as a glass, that one reckless touch might break me, his touch was so comforting that I held it there and slowly opened my eyes towards him. There I saw the handsomest man I had laid eyes on but weariness was clouding those shockingly blue eyes, I then realized that all through my battle with death I hold unto him unconsciously, tightly that I had made him fear. I eased my clutched and smiled at him while I hid the pain, then he asked if I was okay and I answered yes, of course I lied. Pain was excruciating but I did not winced or showed that I was badly hurting instead I moved closer to his side seeking comfort, I let him hug me for one last time.
I had reached the pathway towards the end, and there stood the gateway to the abyss right then I knew it was time. I tried not to cry when he looked at me then he returned his gaze towards the sky and talk, I continued staring at him silently and God how I love this man, if only time was at my side I would want to take the long path with him” but I can’t. He must’ve notice me staring and ask why, I answered nothing and for the first time of being slave by this sickness I smiled a true smile for he looked at me as he had when he first laid eyes on me. I’ve got very countable hair now and my lips were not as they were and I’m even paler as I was before yet his looking at me as if I’m the prettiest, that made it even harder to stop tears from feeling but tried not to. He was talking now, about his plans for the future trying to sound jubilant though we both know what’s about to happen then I called his name “Mark..., mark I’m leaving
now..” He didn’t try to listen though he hears me clearly, he continued talking but then tears fell and he sobbed as he hugged me. “Mark, please promise me.. that you wouldn’t suffer yourself that somehow you’d still find happiness..” he was about to opposed but then I wrapped my weak arms around him and whispered to his ears “promise me..?” then he nod and hugged me tighter, as if it could stop me from dying, then asked “ W-When, H-How will I start?” I sighed and told him “you could start by letting go...” then as life was finally leaving me I heard him whisper “GOODBYE,,” then I gathered all my remaining strengths and slowly closed my eyes as my last tears run down, I then whispered “I love you...” and everything vanished in one blinding light...

'M STARTING TO REMEMBER THINGS now that happened during that day, the day that turned my life into a longmiserable nightmare. It’s been fifteen months now, that’s all I know cause I lost track of time. I don’t even know how many Mondays have been there but one thing is for sure, they’ll never let me go back to my life again. I tried to ask them why I was brought here in the asylum, and all they’ll say is that for treatment and observation. I tried to convince them that I’m not crazy and this place makes me feel uncomfortable but they told me that everything is going to be okay as long as I behave and keep taking their prescribed medications. Now, the once plainly painted wall has been filled with my markings, counting the days that had past and by all those passing days, my hope of going out is slowly fading away. Dr. Cinchez reminded me that I
should remember the things that had happened that day and I must tell him exactly what I remember and if that will complete the missing pieces of the puzzle then they’ll bail me out for good. It’s been fifteen months now and all I can remember was a small piece of events. It was just a small picture of the place where I had been found lying and almost dead. It’s been the same and Dr. Cinchez won’t accept it, he wanted more information in order for them to connect all the found evidences. And for a long time I’ve been telling them the same story and they grew tired of my broken memory
that they even locked me in a cellar painted in white and forced me to wear a jacket that has braces that binds my arms to prevent from hurting myself. Sometimes, I would think of committing suicide but the dosage of pills cannot cut out my senses. They usually just put me into a deep-long sleep. I’ve been always alone in my cell trying to recall that day. I closed my eyes and force my synapses to backtrack the events. It started with a flash then a sudden wave of unbearable pain in my head that I almost gave up searching but still, I wanted to go out. So, in pursuance of my efforts a sudden flash of light began to

slowly taking form. Then everything went blank and quiet. “Hey Ed!” said a familiar voice. I carefully opened my eyes, it was bright and a shadow that had overlapped my face helped to see clearly of her face, yes, it was my wife Charlene. I took a long glance at her; her long hair, perfectly matched eyes and those caressing voice. And for the first time in that bloody fifteen months in the asylum, my eyes welled up with tears that it was really her, my beloved Charlene calling out my name again. “You sleepy head, wake up. Our daughter is waiting in the Cabin.” She took out my hand and forcefully pulled me out to stand up but I was too stunned, still trying to believe all the things that I’m seeing. I looked around and it was the same spot where I slept on that day. The same tree, same place and the same feeling of peace and
warmth in my body slowly aroused. Are those nightmarish fifteen months on the asylum was just an imagination? Have I been here all along in these peaceful Monday together with Charlene and Dinah? Have I been dreaming all along? If that would be true, then I’ll be most thankful. I took a long-deep breath and moved towards the place where my wife stood waiting for me. I faced her, she was smiling and without hesitation, I kissed her as if it was my first time kissing her and I hugged her tight. I slowly whispered to her the words that I haven’t even spoken ever since our wedding. She was surprised of course, for she had been long used of my “no care” attitude but still, she kissed me back and by that I began to forget the nightmare. We walked together to the cabin, it was an old yet sturdy cabin given by my father as a wedding gift. It was surrounded by bright green trees and a small lake wherein we usually

have boating and picnic. 78 As I opened the door, Dinah quickly ran towards me and by the sight of her alive and cheerful made my heart jumped up and down with joy. I scooped her in my arms and held her tight; she kissed my cheeks and caressed my hair backward. “Welcome back Daddy,” she greeted. I smiled to her and looked back to my wife, she too was smiling. The cabin house was decorated with fragrant flowers that were personally picked by my daughter. Yes, I know because it was all in the shade of red. The familiar fragrance moved in the cabin together with the wind, and undeniably soothed my head and body. They dragged me into the table signalling me to sit down. Dinah began to pull out a chair and helped herself to sit. My wife took out the food, and we enjoyed our meal but suddenly, Dinah acted weird as her eyes darkened. Her face became pale and the air around her was different. Seemed like, it is not her anymore. Charlene began to notice it too, the shifting of the ambiance, she held Dinah in her arms but as quickly she came close to her, Dinah flailed crazily and all the plates were falling. She grabbed the fork and started stabbing Charlene. My wife’s blood began to flow freely in her white dress. We were shouting but Dinah didn’t snap out from stabbing, she continued until there was silence. “Daddy help! Daddy help! Someone is coming inside me,” she screamed. I took her hands and tried to control her but her strength pushed me aside and I was left battered on the floor. Dinah began shouting uncontrollably, her
voice low and shallow. The cabin began to shake and all the lights blinked dead. She held a knife and slit it in her wrist, and then she laughed not even bothering the blood in her hands. Charlene lay lifeless on the floor blood all over her. My eyes began to black out, all I can see was pitch darkness but still Dinah’s voice was perceivable. She was shouting like someone is there among us. A force more malevolent that only purpose is to play and entertain itself by controlling my daughter forcing her to kill my wife and put all the blame on me. Her voice shut, and with that silence I began to return in my senses. I found myself lying almost dead outside the cabin. I stood up shaking, I saw my daughter standing in the cabin looking at me. She was crying for my help but my knees were paralyzed. She looked behind her and a large black hand reached her and dragging her in. The cabin door closed shut and I watched it burned. That was the time that I wanted to wake up and to find myself in my old damned cell that I was locked in for fifteen months. -- I opened my eyes again, looked around me and Dr. Cinchez looked at me with weary eyes. He gripped my shoulders. He was sweating and all the nurses were troubled in my room. There were medical apparatus and tubes that were connected on my veins and pumping something in me. “Glad you wake up, Ed. You were somehow on a trance when some of the nurses found you. It’s been 2 days now since your trance. What did you remember Ed? Tell me. Did you found something more in your memory?” These were the questions the Doctor asked me but I left them unanswered.

hy does one feels empty when he loses something, yet there was nothing to begin with? Today, is one of my murky days. I can not help myself, not to remember her. Each songs I played or heard, by chance, somehow reminded me of her. I hate this day. Much of those days. Days that are filled by her memories and ours. And reminded me of a thing. A thing, I did never have.

It is weird, yet more hilarious. 79 Two strangers eventually become friends, turned to be more than friends. And of how long the span, is the same of how we become strangers. Again. I often caught myself thinking where she is now. Sitting alone with a mindset at somewhere afar. Reminiscing the days we spent and re-spoling myself by her voice and her smile. I admit. I must say, I miss her. I miss the so-called friendship we have, and all of the signs. She makes me think of her, whenever am sad and alone. And the worsts, when I am happy. Wishing she is here with me. We do not talk to each other anymore. No more. And I do not know why? It makes me feel mesirable, more vulnerable. I guess, she does neither know how much she hurt me, nor of how much pain she caused me. No idea of why she took me for granted. And no reasons to ease the dwelling pain in my heart—of why she did not catch me when I fall in love. In love with her. It really hurt me, when she did not care when I walk away, and never look back. Maybe, she was just like the rest of those girls. They took my heart when they left. I do not know what to believe. Is she does not care at all? Or, she just eventually stopped on giving me a special value. But despite of what had happened. And the distance that lies between us and pushes us to be at opposite poles, my heart still remained along with my love on her. I know, we will meet again, and we will do all the usual things we used to do. Am not around with her lately, but that does not mean, that I stopped loving her. I am even hopeful.

hen I was 19, I had to leave home. I was terrified, but it was a challenge I had to face head-on no matter how badly I wanted to stay. And it wasn’t only home that I had to leave. It was college that I loved so much, friends that I was so passionate about and family that took it much more hardly than I did. There’s a depth there that would tell another story someday. It had not been easy so I was so happy that after 3 years, I was going back to celebrate my sister’s birthday with my family. Her 18th birthday. Wow. I said to myself. Time was fast. Recently, I saw pictures of her wearing high-heels with a nice dress on. She was no longer the 3-year old that I used to drag with me to play with. She was a young lady now and I am proud of her. For most of you, there is nothing too special about a sister’s birthday especially if you see each other every day in the same house. It was not the case for people and big sisters like me. I love my sister, my family but more than that, I miss home everyday that I
had been away from it. Now I am in this boat, and I can hardly wait. The weather is nice, the sunshine was playing so nicely with the ocean’s waters that I cannot help but feel nostalgic. I close my eyes and remember one twilight in my hometown when I was a little girl that decided to try her adventurous streak on her little sister. My sister Faith, was a little over 3 years old and I was 8. It was getting dark and an olde cousin came to our house bringing an empty plastic biscuit can. It was red and bright and when I saw it, I clapped my hands in sheer glee because an idea was playing in my child mind. Mama was busy cooking dinner downstairs when I checked and I ran to my sister who was sitting and being a good girl like mama told her to. “Hey, come. We will play a game together.” I whispered the rest to her and she looked at me with her weird, wide and intelligent eyes. I held my breath, but thank God she nooded! You see, even when we were little, you will almost never be able to fool my sister who was born with a sharp mind that works so intelligently to this day. We gathered our favourite toys and stuffed it in that big red plastic can. We were ready to go out of the house and play “run-away-from-home.” When we were at the door, she suddenly let go of my hand and ran to get-her little blanket. Yeah, she was that kid alright. That thumb-sucking lovable little baby. “Oh alright.” I said annoyed. She began sucking but held my hand and I carried our can of toys. It was
early ion the evening already and people were looking at us, somehow amused and surprised about two little girls walking the streets like it was a big whole playground all for themselves. I was smiling and laughing
the whole time. We turned and turned on another street again until we found ourselves near the highway with cars and jeepneys passing noisily. I noticed my sister starting to hum (now she can belt and give Sarah Geronimo a run for her money and I’m not even

going now, I’m hungry. Let’s go home.” I warned her, “if you sleep, I’ll leave you here on the road, Faith.” I smiled at her because I was afraid she would cry. I let her sit on the can but I never let go of her hand. After a few minutes, I told her we would walk slowly back home. That’s exactly what we did. It was dark and we were little girls and we turned and passed about three different streets that I wasn’t really sure where to turn to get us home. I sighed but continued walking. Then I finally saw a light coming from a street lamp that I remembered was close to our house. I turned, following the light on the street light and saw it. There, at the side of the street with other humble houses was our little house with its light coming out of our pretty window. I turned to look down on my sleepy, cute little sister and smiled. “Faith, we’re home,” I told her. Inside my mother was close to panicking until she saw me go through the door, dragging my little sister and holding the red can with toys. She ran to hug us both. “Oh where have you been! I was so worried.” I bowed my head and looked at her from underneath my eyelashes..and smiled sheepishly. “Well, mama, Faith and I played
run-away-from-home. I just wanted to know how it was. I saw it in the movies.” I was holding my skirt, playing with the hem of it and wondering how much scolding I’m about to get. But my mother had both me and my sister shocked. She looked at us from one to another, hugged my sister and laughed. She had a hard time stopping and my sister stopped sucking her thumb, clearly dumbfounded. “Oh you naughty little girl!,” she told me. “What if you got lost.” And I was even more shocked when my 3-year-old sister told her clearly, “Oh we were never far momma.” Holding her blanket, she added and smiled, “we found the way home easily.” That night, in our childhood memories, my sister taught me a lesson I would never forget: That whatever happens, whichever path you choose to take, in the long run, you would still find yourself going back to the way and the road that leads you...HOME.

- my voice echoes into the unending turmoil darkness that was already been there as I awaken. There was only air ascending having my skin tickled into its cold-bearing touch. Then, I realized that I was not on the ground now; that I’m falling down, gravity pulling me eagerly yet it felt endless to the bottom. I looked down but it was total darkness still, I was neither in shock nor in fear; like this heart had stopped beating, all the things had seemed meaningless to me now, and that was the time I realized I was already dead. Surrounding me were tiny bubbles projecting images of my life. The pain and joy it bore was like knives slowly puncturing my already numbed skin. Gravity pulling me faster now, collecting momentum and waiting for my body to drop on the floor of judgement and be dead again but what I thought was wrong. The end had been too shallow and still, I’m falling. I remember now, my final moment. It was dark and already late. I was holding a leather bag and I stood shocked and stunned as a man held a gun in front of me, demanding money. His hands were shaking as he shouted and I panicked. I pulled out my wallet but he suddenly pulled the trigger and there was silence. I felt nothing but I know that there was a small metal exploded passed through my chest. There was no sound now and I felt the heaviness inside. The hole in my chest remained and as I continued falling, the ascending air paved way through it. I looked up and saw the bubbles; one of it has a picture of me as a kid. I was a frail child and all the kids made fun of me at school until dad came to my rescue. I felt so secured and stopped crying as he grabbed my hands and walk away. I smiled.
83
Suddenly, my body felt a longing. It burned now, becoming weightless as it slowly glides into the air. I was now feeling warm. The memory of my father had made me feel happy again even in death, he was always there. “I never left,” a man draw himself near me, he too was falling. I looked at him and my eyes welled up in tears. The face of the man was so familiar, the warmth he brings was overpowering against the ascending air that it calmed gravity itself. “Dad, I’m sorry for not looking back at you during the time that you needed me most,” my hands reached out to him. I know that I should tell him more, apologize to him and draw him closer. To share the loneliness and the pain that had existed ever since that day when I turned fourteen and left home. I just cried after saying those things. My grip tightened in his hands, I don’t want to leave him anymore. Dad fell silent in a moment; he was just staring at me, smiling. In his eyes I saw a deep longing and contentment and slowly he glowed. The light he emitted is warm and pure, a kind of light that soothes you deep in your soul and calms your weariness into a complete peace. It was so bright that I had to close my eyes. The pain had surged away, leaving my body and suddenly the darkness also fled and the falling motion had stopped. I held back my hand, dad was gone but despite that, I smiled knowing that he felt peace and had transported to another place, a proper place for him to rest. Once the light had settled down, I opened my eyes and saw a wonderful place. It was Grassland facing upward looking to the fast moving clouds. The sound of the wind waving hello to the grasses kept me wondering. The grasses waved back, giving the wind a gift of seeds and wonderful scent of a promising abundance. I rested under a tree, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and there was peace.

Continuation from the last issue.....
“
As I continue bending over the pages, there are more that I expected. There are these dubbed of, “Friends I Have Betrayed,” “People I Stepped Over,” “Lives I Have Messed,” and “Girls I Stalked On The FB.” The others are of the form of texts. Chapters that I never ceases to be suprised and to be ashamed by the contents, “ Things, I Muttered Under My Breath At My Parents,” ‘Lies I have Told,” and “ Subjects Of My Lustful Thoughts.” Hilarious as it seems but that last chapter turns me sick to think that even that moment had been recorded. .” There includes different names of who became the subjects on different chapters, along with the stupid description of how such things happened. And without being told, I know what this book is. Diary! A record of every ugly actions I made-big and small. In a detail my memory can match. Shame itself consume my whole being. Sense of ignominy that overflows into and cracks my nerves, like a water balloon pumped with to much air and suddenly bursts. And there is only one thought which dominates my mind and pushes me to move amok that time-- I must destroy this book. Destroy it, before someone have a chance to open and explore its contents. Then begin to disgusts me. With a blink of an eye. I turn wild and desperate to tear out the pages. Impossible as you would

think, impossible as it is. I find it impossible to tear the pages. Something makes the book special, shred not be. Anger heats up, and fuels my temper. Lifting my arms, hopeful, as I have throw it afar. Eyes turns heavy and tears start to crawl down from my cheeks. Crying! At first muffled and broken, sobbing like a child, and then quickly swelling into one long, loud and continuous scream, utterly anomalous and inhuman, a wailing shreik. And when it seems enough, I fall from my knees, head bows down and still sobbing. Out from a corner, someone comes and smoothly touches the back part of my ear, at right. The hand was soft and is cold. As does, something leaves around. He then start to speak. That is when I knew it was a man. His voice is dark but he speak so soft, that I can imagine how he shaped his lips, while saying, “ What’s wrong?”
I did not answer.
“Come and get your feet. I am here to help you.” But I neither take his modest help nor I thank him for the concern. Instead, I remained stubborn and braggily said, “Who the hell are you? I need no help. I don’t even know you either. Go away and leave me alone!” “ Am a friend. I want to help you. You are lost, and so I am here,” he pleased.
I said, L-E-A-V-E M-E A-L-O-N-E!
And he did.
Nothing runs on my mind that time. I was thinking nothing. Empty. Occupied with soft blackness of blank. But something inside triggers me and haunts me as I said those words to the man. He was so modest. And his voice--
his voice still remains floating in my head. And of the way he touches my ear kept me puzzled and hanging. It was a so familiar act. It is.

A sudden pain hit my stomach. That man! Who was he? Why he knew what my Mom always does, everytime I am mad at her? Why he does--like my mom, the way he touches my ear the same? Who really that man is? When I traced how his hand touches my ear, I gather some traces of blood, drips of blood that are so red, rich, dark and alive. And there are more, more drops of blood of where the man had seated. Maybe, it was he who needs help. It was he who was really in help. And I had refused him. Stupid, I am. I follow the traces made by the drops of blood on the ground. Stride along as much as my feet can do. Then I realized, that the traces of his blood that are left direct to the same course where I had thrown the book.
No! He must not see the book!
Him!
But when... No! Not He! No please... Not
By: Fritz Anderson Cruda
I just helplessly watched him as he continue flipping the pages of the book and started to read what has been written. I can see the sorrow in his face that is getting deeper as he intuitively go to the worsts chapters. I just stand there. While my nerves are getting cold. Finally, he did turn and look at me. Across of a not so much wide distance, I can see the pity in His eyes, pity that makes me getting weaker. I drop my head, cover my face with my hands, crouch on the floor and begin to cry.He walks toward me and put His arm around me. He have the chance and the time to scold me or said something, but he did not-- even a utter word. He embraced me with a tender feeling of love. And cry with me along. After a while, he hand over the small book to me. I open it once again, and there is already the name of my God written in his blood— so red, so rich, so dark, and so alive that covers mine. I look at him and he just smile. He gets up and places his hand on my shoulder.I stand up and kiss His cheeks. He then lead me to the way out. And He kissed my forehead then. The same spark of light crosses and blinds my sight. When I open my eyes, am already on my bed lying. A new day has been given to me. And now with this book he gave to me, I am on a quest to fill its new white pages with good deeds. Deeds to be made. (Adapted from the story, ‘The Room’ by Joshua Harris)
Continuation from “The Summoning”....
“There is no such thing as God, only misery and death,”
Said the demon as he grinned constantly to the world where darkness covered its inhabited spaces. The world is ruled by darkness and nothing else. His eyes, is all seeing and powerful that he can even see far reaching in a pavement where there was a girl crying in misery as four men played her. She pleads them to stop but they were all laughing. She wanted everything to stop but she couldn’t move her body and she was numbed by their punches. She spat some blood but they don’t even care. They loosen their belts, just to force their flesh in her; just to please their filthy nature. The demon felt her misery and anger. He looked closely to the world, moving nearer to that horrid place. Every time the girl shouts his wanting for her grows deeper and deeper. He was invisible; he floats around like a dark smoke. He moved to that pavement and made himself comfortable to the other side of the wall.
86
86
There, he can hear the men groaning for pleasure and saw them played her body like it was nothing. She was like a toy nearly broken into different pieces. He entered to her body, her mind and her soul and he found out that it was approaching to crack. He felt sudden chills in his guts. He laughed out loud making his voice perceivable to those men playing to the body he entered. The men stopped and looked at him as he revealed his true image, hiding the woman’s form in his dark and alluring smoke. “I welcome you all, blind lambs for I had come to fetch you!” He raised his arms sideward and just a blink of an eye everyone fell off into pieces. Blood was scattered all around the pavement. The smell of their bodies quickly rose up to the atmosphere. Decayed and fast rotten but for him it was the smell of art. After his performance, he separated himself from the woman’s body. She was unconsciously lying in the ground. Her body is beaten and covered with tracks of abusive hands. But all the owners of those prints were already punished. Burned and enslaved in hell. “There is no such thing as God, only misery and death” He counted every
seconds waiting for the unconscious girl to wake up and greet him in his presence. 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9 he continued counting10..11..12..13.. but she didn’t wake up. Her soul is still wandering around everywhere but he still patiently continued counting. A few hours later, it was already three o’ clock and his power grows stronger until the girl slowly opened her eyes. She cried but the demon’s hand reached out to her and gave her promises that she couldn’t accept to deny. She pushed her head to kiss the creature and it was a kiss that sealed her wishes and it all up to the demon to carry out; a mass of bright-red blood slowly glowed coming out in her breast. She closed her eyes and recalled the painful things happened to her in the hands of those pigs. She remembered one of them carrying a knife and punctured her without hesitation. Tears began to flow in her eyes but the demon held her tight. “I will see you tomorrow and on that day, I will be with you forever,” he promised. The demon spread its shredded wings and carried her into the night-crimson sky. As the life in her slowly fading, she took a final gasp of air and said, “My name is Eve and don’t you ever forget it,” The demon smiled as her life slowly fades her eyes. “Till next life and to another form my princess.”

might, nor of no chance be belong with them. And I never did— would never be, am hoping. I did, I anticipate. It is because I never believe them. Perhaps, their words are lengthy, but not sharp-- tramp along for further miles. For some, I must admit: they fancied— they got me on their first impressions. Most of whom look at me with eyes so green and brows are arched. All of them, do this anyway. But none of them have got into and peeped over from these big brown eyes. Their impressions are biased and demonical. Or, somehow, these people are blind. At once, stare. At twice go around the bush. Desperate! They are, neither after for treasure nor for money, but of something that would bring them to surmise. Something that would help them to condemn a beast--as they fancied. But not is. And when they seem to seize the beast, it is, of not how it became a remnant of clay- if there exists. If to ask why, not of how it turned to a scrap, but of why their eyes turned green, it is because, they already have in their mind a fixed-construct thought of who he is, and who she is. The differences and when they called they are. Convention with underlying rules. Like of how phrases or sentences are thought to be mistakenly constructed, but is creative or somehow different, is damned by the grammar.
That is, for these people who live into a place, of where all things are already fixed and accepted, would surely not a good place for other creatures. It worries me. I am of this former place but am; I should not probably say, but I have a connected thought by the tramps. Again, I should not have said it. For some of these mono people, do believe and do practice with no beliefs or of no reasons at all. It might, because they have to adapt, (though with disagreeing sentiments) for acceptance and to beloved. The reasons, just goes the same. Most of these people are having one-eye or worse than of no heart. Who does not want to beloved, to be accepted? How about me, am not, or those genuinely creatures too? I may be true, might be true, but hoping not like them. It is not I hate these tramps— I just can’t. It is hard, when for sure; you are a mono people too. I am, I think and am confident that you are. One of those blinds, monos and worse than of no hearts. Who rings bells as to cast away a demon and curse not me, (am not) but us.

itting at the track field, I relaxed myself as I tried to enjoy the afternoon breeze. This afternoon was not special, it was just one of the days that you would name as ordinary. However, you could still see enthusiasm in the students around the campus. The daily noise of the students who were casually chatting did not seem to die down; instead, it grew louder. Despite the fact that most of the classes were over, a lot of the students choose to stay. Most of them are just plainly strolling around with their bags while others are making stop-over along the stalls to eat their snack. On the other hand, some students were doing recreational activities like soccer, volleyball, badminton and some are doing refreshing jogs around the oval. They seem to have a lot of energy even their exhausting classes have ended. My attention was shifted to the different small groups of students wearing their P.E uniforms. It got me interested as I watch them formulate some steps for a dance. I could sense determination in their eyes especially when they are trying to catch up with each other’s gut. Few moments later, my eyes landed on the aisle near the university’s entrance.

It was still crowded as day students walk away and leave the vicinity for the night students. Seeing this kind of scenery everyday makes me think that this university is not just mere energy but it is purely alive whether there are classes or not. Time continued to pass, I was still on the same spot. My peripheral vision caught a very eye-catching scenario. I saw a group of students sitting and laughing by the benches. They were literally loud and happy about their discussion. Cheerfulness filled me because I know how good it feels to laugh with your friends. I kept my gaze shifted from one group to another and I noticed something common in them. It was the curve on their lips, the curve you call a smile. The majority was wearing it and it was fantastically contagious. It gives this university a warm and friendly atmosphere which makes me feel relieved. It came to my mind that regardless of all the pressure and amidst the raging stress that we still found a way to give ourselves an uplifting break. The wind blew once again sweeping my hair away but it left the smile plastered on my face. This afternoon is quite special after all.

hen I was a little kid, my classmates and I would usually form a circle and talk about the existence of a supreme being that is so powerful, he created the whole universe.
89
89
I waited long but still there’s no sign of a supreme being in my room. My doubts grew bigger that I almost concluded to myself that HE does not exist.
In our school, we were taught to call him God. Our religion teacher, who is very old, would always be bombarded with curious questions coming from us like, is he really that powerful? How come we can’t see him now? Or why is he not showing himself to us?
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind carrying dried leaves entered our house and into my room. I looked at the remnants scattered in the house, I saw a half-cracked cocoon that is slowly moving. It struggled for awhile but then a moment later, a fragile butterfly crept outside the cocoon and carefully opening its wings.
We had so many questions about him but our teacher would always have the same answer to us, “Just believe in him.”
Seeing a wonderful moment, I began to smile and thank God for the first time.
But something inside my head started to question our religion teacher’s lessons and by the, I began to have doubts about God’s existence. Sometimes when I’m all alone at home, I tried to call HIM out and ask him to show me some of his miracles in order for me to really believe in HIM. I closed my eyes and asked him, “If you’re really real, then show yourself to me.”
For the first time, I believed in HIM not because I had seen HIM but because I just believed in his works. I opened my heart to the thing around me and saw many wonderful things and I know it was all his works. Like the caterpillar who once dreamt to fly, believing on it and soon achieving it.

than strolling around for 6 hours doing nothing inside the campus grounds, people from every college would prefer to chit-chat with anybody else. Exempting those who have enemies because probably they’ll just hate it, but for friends, classmates, mentors or someone you have just met, Sure why not? Simply because not that it’s too boring or the day’s just so plain usual, but for the fact that talking itself is a healthy remedy for us humans, it’s already a common norm to engage into conversations. 24/7 in a day is a story wherein everyone can tell. The hours don’t run out with words. If you missed your favorite Be Careful with my heart episode, here you go grumbling to your peers asking about the scenes you could have watched. If your friends invited you for a dinner at I.T Park then you can’t merely go, or your DOTAmate convinces you to play in the café, of course you’ll tell some reasons if you can’t go with them. You can’t let the day move without even uttering a single word. It would not even be comfortable for some to just completely stare at their colleagues, because it is actually hard unless you’re sick or a bit problematic. Being soundless is not in their encyclopedia. They will really find a lot of ways just to converse and share their emotions. And in return, they’re told what they wanna hear.
Having dialogues are part of the daily routine. Even your Environmental Science Instructor might discuss a topic wherein your classmates would participate in the form of citing suggestions or asking clarifications. This is to let you reflect after the day, the weight of expressing what’s in your mind. It would not just detect how much interested you are in the issue nor how active is your mind on the topic. But simply to let you perceive that it’s healthy to express yourself through discoursing.
A Chatty atmosphere won’t hinder you from being blissful and will keep you energized everytime. There’s nothing wrong of being with people whom you can just have a laugh with especially if there are topics interesting to be discussed. It’s natural. You’re cheered up and your problems are forgotten for a while.
Sometimes you may not be aware; you’re given a chance to sense what is itching up your nerves. So don’t let that moment pass, without clarifying and fixing matters. It is not just a fine means to put yourself across to things you want to accomplish. But also a great cure. For it can relieve internal stress and release pressure, a big help to decrease burdens and finally solve undying issues. This is why people establish relationships and connections to each other by maintaining better communication. All words needed to be spoken should be thought a hundred times before delivered. Remember one and all are entitled to value its substance and also consider its consequences. You can’t just easily complain to your professor for giving you a lot of load to do; of course you’re a student. That is your responsibility. At a times, manage to choose the right kind of details to carve up especially when you’re about to disclose anything, since its either you can make a problem become worst or merely be the solution to it. Through talking, conflicts are eliminated and barriers are gone between people. But don’t get it wrong; speak in the right way where you can also be understood not to the point that you can already hurt others. But you can still confess what is bothering inside you. There’s nothing faulty about it for some things are not always kept as a secret forever. Consider the times you’ve hidden something, then a week later it was found out? That’s it. Only share what you think is right and you should know when not to go beyond your limits because talking should not be like that, often misunderstood.

DILI JUD LAGI" dali nga mitalikod and ulitawo ug midagan. (as if maka dagan! katapulan ato!).
"Ha? nganu man?"
"Sa kasinaw sa imong agtang, nasigirit gayod akong kasingkasing" "Boangay lang teng?" ug mikatawa silang duha. (ambot ngano) Mitupad si Inteng sa dalaga ug mikuot sa.... (sa UNSA??) Nova nga gikaon sa dalaga. "Asa man si Mark Lou? nganong gibiyaan man ka niya basin ug mailog hinoon tika" tiaw niya.
"Its complicated." mubo niyang tubag.

I G A L A!! (bakho mode) face palm.

Dali nga mipalayo si Fritz (if you know what I mean).
jud sila kay going strong ilahang relasyon karon despite the odds. (kinsa man intwn ni sila ui????? asa man sila gikang planetaha? ahh basta naa sila.) I <3 Siomai makagutom baya jud nah basta get together diba?

The End.
"Tsk tsk tsk... Hahay Gugma!!"
Neslie.
"Nganung anaa man ka dinhi? "
"Kuan man gud pangga.....kanang...." nagkanga kanga si Mark Lou.
"Yun ohhh" Kataposan....

Dear NB,
Good day!
It started when we both in the same organization. Then I met him, he was known as the heartthrob guy in our group. Unsa akong angay buhaton? Mupadayon ba ko sa pagtug-an kaniya? Or dili nalang for the sake of our friendship. Ako nalang ning pugngan samtang dili pa kayo grabe. Please tambagi gayod ako NB. Salamat.
More power to your publication! Sincerely yours
“Assuming Girl” Dear Sender, I would not like to put a seal to your self-professed "assuming girl" title so let's refer to you as simply "sender." The Good news? You are not the first girl who gives meaning to an attractive, nice gentleman's actions. The bad news? The feeling 85 % of the time in this kind of situation is not mutual. Sorry. But you probably know that already. Not everything a guy does to a girl means more than what it actually is. He may just be being nice for all you know, and you may not be the ONLY girl he is being nice to. Opening up to him about your feelings is a very bad idea. It would change things. I understand you're up for all that risk but this is something that will not be worth it. No we're not being traditional or old-fashioned. We just don't want you ending up embarassed and ruining the rest of your college years unless you want to spend the rest of it in hiding. Wait until the guy tells you his feelings. Or wait until you figure out there is really nothing for him to tell. Or wait for the right time to tell him how you feel, when you think you have nothing to lose or when you think you are prepared to deal with what happens next which my not be what you expected. For now, cherish every little and big moment you spend with him and enoy it as it is. For it is in these certain moments that a guy sees and loves a girl for who she really is.Good luck!
