From the Editor A Message from Kandee G “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Harold Thurman What truly makes you come alive? What is that one thing that you could do day in and day out if money weren’t an option? are all on a journey that was designed to serve us in exactly the way that it is manifesting. Consider this analogy: Take a drop of water out of the ocean and put it into a glass bottle sealed with a cork. Throw it back into the ocean. The ocean represents God and the drop of water within the bottle represents you in your physical body; the cork being your ego. In the bottle, you can at least float in the energy (the ocean of creation) that created your soul essence and allowed your individuality. To move out of the illusion that we are separate from this creative force means taking the cork (your ego) out of the bottle and allowing your true essence to merge with the life essence of your body and mind. Meditation is a wonderful tool for quieting the ego and tuning into the essence that is your true self; which is the very same essence of your creative force. If you are having trouble quieting the mind and becoming truly still,
Aeature rticle F give this meditation exercise a try: Sit back, close your eyes and relax every fibre of your being. Breathe in the light of whatever you feel created your essence. That power can be anything that makes you feel safe and peaceful. Focus on It and It only. Now, think of something that inspires you and opens your heart to a devotional kind of love. Let yourself feel the protection of that love right now as you float in it as if on a big soft cloud. You feel safe and relaxed. Gradually you begin feeling and seeing with your inner eyes, an energy of light touching the top of your head. Your thoughts are floating around you like feathers that never land. Feel yourself sinking deeper and deeper into a peaceful bliss as the light moves gently through each of your chakras with healing energy. Your chakras are all open now and balanced. Float in this energy until it is time to come back into your normal
waking state. Just think it and you will open your eyes and be back, feeling energized and awake. You’ve been given a healing. With daily practice your meditation will become easier and easier. Know that any effort to know and understand all that you are helps to expand who you will become.

AQUARIUS - 1-21 - 2 /19
If you are planning a project it might be difficult to get anything done other people won`t be very helpful and whatever you`re doing the effort could be enormous, but in the process you might learn some important lessons. The old way of doing things aren`t necessary, the best ways sometimes you have to be inventive trying out new strategies and with the right approach you can exceed your own expectations. There may be a profit or income from property land and real estate. These coming months there is a marvelous build up with parents and other people who will start to approve of you. This is the time to focus on health and meeting new love adventures. Look for that striking Capricorn that is going to be your best friend.
PISCES - 2/20-3/20
You still need to learn to relate better with others but now it`s more on the intimate and personal level. The exchange of ideas , innermost thoughts, personal beliefs, rather than the emotions. Family ties, linkages of loving and caring now become sharing. Vital correspondence and contracts must not be neglected, or the necessary input, data and information for work related projects, plans or activities. Watch out for an inclination towards gambling, stock market and betting. This is the time for passion. I see a sexy Scorpio coming your way, I promise they won`t bite. This is the time for passion..
ARIES - 3/21/-4/20
Your finances should finally be increasing now that some changes have been made if you have passed up an opportunity it will come around again Be ready to grasp it at that time. a new type of savings program should be started now.. start a common sense new budget. Restless energy pegs you for the next few months so do some exercise to blow off some steam - go outdoors for some fresh air . A stylish flair can draw people to you and create a conversational icebreaker. A team project gets a giant push these upcoming months. Tap into technology as a means of connecting to great people and possibility creating a business model you can profit from .If you haven`t been to a doctor recently this would be the best time to get a check up...and stay away from the spicy foods for indigestion..
GEMINI - 5/22-6/21
Someone is being underhanded where you finances are concerned. You seem to have things under control but there is still a money train somewhere that needs your immediate attention. Be aware that some contracts will have to be renegotiated and some promises and plans will be broken. as people will change their mind. This is not a good time to sign any papers that are important, since errors could occur. Use your intuition always , stay focused and alert. There will be 2 different people that I see you are attracted to, Jill Dahne`s golden rule, `see 3 people at the same time`, so it will be your choice.

People are changing plans and ideas around you but somehow this leaves you in a better position.. Watch your finances and guard your wallet as you could lose some money through carelessness. Some big expenses may leave you feeling a bit short theses upcoming months. Others will try to make demands on your time when you would rather be doing something else. You may have a large expense but profits will come from it at a later time. Once you relax the love will come in. This is the time to think about you. Head to the gym there are good prospects there.

Try not to get caught up in other peoples chaos Secrets are being revealed now and you don`t want to be in trouble. I recommend walking it is good for the knees and your joints.
VIRGO - 8/22-9/23 One of your investments should be paying off shortly you may have already had a confirmation of this fact. Other people have been careless around you so watch for errors and be mindful . Save all your receipts as you may need them later. This is not a good time for shopping, if you`re patient and you wait you will be much more satisfied. You should hear some good news from an old friend ... jump on it. I see you receiving an email from someone special , take it seriously, don`t delete.
LIBRA - 9/24-10/23

You`re ready to upgrade your goals and achieve your new aspirations. A friend will help you expand your consciousness. The writer in you is ready to begin writing.
SCORPIO - 10/24-11/22
This is not the time to relocate as things may appear better than they actually are. Do some research and try not to sign any papers. Mistakes are too easy to make these upcoming months. There are too many hidden factors lurking about now that makes any type of firm decisions difficult. Meanwhile, the hidden facts will come to light. If you meditate on it you will probably be better off. As far as money is concerned right now you are only looking at the rosy side of things, however be aware that there are two sides to every coin. Adding a new piece to your wardrobe should make you feel better.and attract others to gravitate towards you.
SAGITTARIUS - 11/21-12/22
You will find you have been taking on a load that is too heavy to carry. You have a huge heart but let your practicality govern how much aid you offer the next time a loved one needs your help. During this time you will become moodier and your feelings will change quickly. A new companion may pop up into your life through your involvement in an organization that helps others, or just getting out and socializing. Consider changing your power walk to a power run.
CAPRICORN - 12/23-1/20
This is going to be a good year for Capricorns .. a pick me up year. . You have two thoughts on your mind whether to do something -- I recomend to do it -- it could be a lot of fun, but there is also an element of risk. When questioning yourself, don`t procrastinate just do it. A change of a friend can be a change of luck. Surrounding yourself with mind-like beautiful souls like you. You`re thinking hard about your work situation and something doesn`t seem right . Perhaps the balance between home and career needs to be changed. If you listen to your heart, you`ll know what to do. Your intuition is so strong these upcoming months , never second guess yourself - go buy a pair of new shoes, your smile and it will brighten your day.

For You.” After reading these lenses, I invite you to download the song so that this teaching is activated and reinforced on each listen.
Excerpted from Bob’s Sima’s AcousticEpiphany: A SongBlog Anger, disappointment, frustration – most of us spend a lot of our days wrapped up in these emotions which dominate our outlook on life. The more we indulge in these negative feelings, the worse our lives become. But what if we can go from pissed to blissed just by taking our cues from music? As a singer-songwriter who travels the world performing and whose inspiration comes entirely from spirituality, I believe that music can give us new perspectives for transforming our lives. You’ve heard it said that “music is the soundtrack of your life” which means that music can be a teacher in our lives. For example, you might often think that life is piled up against you, but what if it was “Happening for You?” (http://www. bobsima.com/my-blog/5-lenses-willshift-mood-pissed-blissed/.) after a new opportunity. As you enter the freeway accelerating, you notice that the car is not quite getting up to speed and you hear the dreaded thump thump thump. No! This is not happening. Yes, it is happening. Flat tire, missed flight, opportunity gone. It’s in these moments that we lose hope. We feel totally defeated. Why is it so easy for us to get rattled, to go from blissed to pissed, from serenity to insanity? It’s simple. It’s our paradigm, our perspective. We view the events dualistically, as sometimes “good” sometimes “bad.” We feel good or bad depending on the outcome without looking at a much grander view, the bigger picture. Living this paradigm sets you up for continual disappointment and defeat. It’s time for a new perspective, a brand new set of lenses. I am not talking about framing things to make them look better, like some sort of philosophical Photoshop. There is a much more powerful story connect to the soul’s journey. Here are some New Lenses for you to view your life experience, based on lyrics from my song “Happening
Winter/Spring 2015 - Kandee G Enterprises
Lens #1- It’s Happening For You: Everything happens for you, not to you. And it’s all for your highest good. Try this: take a deep cleansing breath and recall a challenging event in your life. Discern, for a moment, what value this event added to your life and how it actually fed your soul in some perfect way that it needed for ascension. LYRIC: “…this can’t be happening to me tonight. Well, it isn’t my friend. It’s happening for you…” Lens #2- Set the Dream, Detach From the Outcome, Everything is a Miracle: As Einstein suggests, there are only two ways to live your life. That is, to see nothing as a miracle or to see everything as a miracle. Choose everything! Events and happenings are one great miracle; the fact that you are here is miraculous, as the chances of being born into a body are 1 in 400 trillion. Try this: take a deep conscious breath and ponder the events that had to take place to create your soul in this body to enter the here and now: the chemical reactions, cells dividing, ancestors, and the myriad of events. LYRIC: “…lifetimes of memories, rushing rushing rushing at you.” Lens #3- Pain is the Great Awakener: Pain is the great awakener, so have a listen. A pain in your body is telling you, “Hey look at me. I need some care.” Pain in the emotional body or soul is talking as well, so have a listen. Try this: next time you are triggered, depressed, drained, anxious, angry, or hurt, take a deep cleansing breath
Aeature rticle F when a pain arises and just feel it. Be with it. Listen to what it is telling you. It is there for your highest good with a message for you. Breathe, allow, and listen. LYRIC: “…this pain, this thing is gonna have a talking to you…” Lens #4- It’s a Lesson or a Blessing: Label events as lessons or blessings. It’s a win-win. Try this: go back and look at some of the events in your life that may have been traumatic and discern the lesson and/or blessing in each event. This practice will lead to gratitude, which is the virtue among all virtues for creating peace and meaning in your life. LYRIC: “… lessons and blessings disguised as disaster...” Lens #5- You Are Here to Grow: Many leading experts in the human potential field firmly believe that our souls are here to grow and to ascend. In fact
they are under contract! In truth, it’s all about transformation – soul transformation through the human vessel. With this grander view, step back and see the tapestry of your life taking form within the patterns of behaviors and events. rticle FAeature One Smile By Shannon Siegel
My dad would wake me early, earlier than I had wished to get up on Thanksgiving morning, yet I was still excited to separate myself from my toasty bed adorned in plush pillows and pink throws. I would eat breakfast and wait for my Aunt Robin to pick me up. I was about ten when I started accompanying her to deliver meals to elderly residents in Washington, DC. Robin would take me in her big white van to pick up meals provided by Iona House. The Styrofoam boxes were stacked up in coolers and put in the big empty space in the van that was usually used for all of my aunt’s dog crates. The smell of turkey, steaming mashed potatoes and gravy filled my nose, and it felt like the holidays. Sometimes I would get a little bit jealous of the rest of the family lounging around and scurrying in the kitchen, but I loved spending those days with my aunt. My aunt explained that not all of the people we would meet and deliver food to had somebody to share their day with. I knew then that we were the lucky ones and that it was important to share with others, not only on the holidays. Giving back to the community and to those around us left me feeling that my day was about more than just being thankful for my family. I was thankful that I could do something that made other people smile. Door after door, smiles would be unveiled and thanks given to my aunt and I. The feeling of being genuinely appreciated, just for taking a little bit of your day and giving it back, was mind-blowing to me. One of my first years volunteering, we knocked on a very special door. Behind the door was a kitchen to the right and a sunny living room with china cabinets against the wall filled with trinkets and memories. The woman in

the apartment- I’ll call her Sally- was overjoyed to invite us into her home and engage in conversation. She was so appreciative of what we were doing with our time that she gave me a gift out of her china cabinet. It was a glass with gold details on it. She hugged me on the way out as my aunt and I wished her a happy Thanksgiving one more time. My aunt wrote down her address so that I could write a thank you note to this woman. I wrote back and forth with Sally, starting with my “thank you” letter.
never felt as important as it did after the moment I met Sally. Not only did she make me realize that the holidays were a time to share and give back, but she made me realize that not every person would appreciate what I was doing as much as her. Her appreciation was enough to let me know that I was making a difference.
As years went on, my aunt Robin and I would plan our Thanksgiving route around Sally’s delivery. We would stop in, give and receive hugs while catching up with Sally. Upon every farewell Sally would give me a gift, including a white glass bell that sat on a windowsill in my kitchen until I moved. The gifts were so special to me because of the reason that Sally wanted me to have them. She wanted me to be appreciated, and I like to think she wanted to give me some of the memories, while she kept them as well. My aunt Robin still goes every Thanksgiving morning to deliver meals in Washington DC, and every year she makes knocks on Sally’s door and gets the appreciation that changed my life. The feeling of giving back became important to me after my aunt had given me an opportunity to spend quality time with her, but also when she witnessed a very powerful appreciation being given to me unlike I had ever received. Meeting Sally on Thanksgiving morning changed my perspective on giving back to the community. Though I had started volunteering at a very young age with my mother, the work I did had

What most people have missed is that rituals are essential tools in today’s world to improve performance, to stay calm in stressful situations, and to maintain balance in an over-busy life. But what’s the difference between a habit and a ritual? We all have good habits and bad habits. In contrast, rituals are conscious, intentional acts we choose to make habitual. Rituals focus attention in a very practical way, and can be tailored to the major needs we all share: • Relationships: Attracting your ideal partner and forming a loving bond between you. • Health, Diet & Beauty: Bringing your body into harmony at every level so that it becomes your strongest ally in reaching a state of optimal well-being. • Money & Wealth: Matching your inner riches with external abundance. • Ceremonial Rituals: Creating a sacred space and entering it for healing and renewal.

• Family: Bringing parents and children into a closer circle of security, understanding, and love. There are 7 aspects to creating your own ritual-rituals that create a special feeling and experience when they are performed: 1) Intention-Read out loud the intention you are setting. 2) Preparation and Purification-Create a special spot where you keep the elements for your ritual. Also, take a few moments before you start each time to clean up and wipe off your ritual space. 3) Use of Symbols-Place symbols in your ritual space that are meaningful to you and will inspire you. These could include photos of your family, special mentors or teachers you value, mementos, and anything else that will give personal meaning to your ritual.
4) Activating the Senses-By incorporating fruit, flowers, scented

oils or candles, your ritual will have a deeper and more profound effect. 5) Prescribed Performance-Create a specific order to what you’ll do during your ritual. An example would be: 1. Prepare the space: take a moment to clean the area, light some incense, arrange your fresh flowers, your fruit or healthy snack, and put your scarf or cloth on. 2. Sit quietly in silence for 30 seconds.
and in your life. You’ll find you’re more focused when you’re working, and you don’t obsess over your work when you’re not. There is a design to your life. You were born with it. Uncovering your unique role and purpose in the world lies in covering that Life Design through ritual. Our world is at a turning point. It needs you doing what you came here to do. When you achieve that, you will be living your ideal life, reaping the inner riches that are your birthright.
3. Open your eyes and read your intention out loud. 4. If you’re beginning your day write out 3 things you’d like to accomplish today; If you’re ending, list 3 things you accomplished. 5. Read a quote or passage from a book that is inspiring to you and reminds you of why you’re focusing on this ritual. 6. Quietly speak out one thing you’re grateful for - find something you have not expressed on previous days. 7. Speak out one thing you appreciate about yourself - again find something you have not expressed before. 8. Put out the incense and begin working on your project. 6) Repetition-Repeating your ritual over and over will help to ground your intention and create new neural pathways so that your day will always be connected to the intention you set. 7) Invoking the Unseen-This can be as simple as acknowledging that you need help to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself and you’re willing to accept that help from wherever it may come. Using these 7 aspects of ritual as a guide (no need to follow a particular order) you will create specialness in your day

Broward Attorney Builds Her Practice Around Truly Caring For Her Clients Caryn Carvo - Interviewed By Hank Eder
A Fort Lauderdale attorney has built a “holistic” law practice by always putting 150% effort into her work for clients and by caring about them far above and beyond what is frequently experienced in her profession. Caryn Goldenberg Carvo has a long and distinguished career as an attorney, starting as a prosecutor in Brooklyn, NY, and in several New York and Florida law firms, leading to the opening of her own firm in 1997. She has a general litigation practice with a concentration in the areas of commercial litigation, condo/homeowner disputes, and family law, including divorce and child custody actions. In each case, working with people is where she really shines.

important thing is looking after the client, making sure they are able to deal with things, to help them be strong and build up their self-esteem. If Mom’s not okay, then nobody is okay, since their kids are picking up on the cues of the way Mom has been treated. It’s not only breaking the cycle of violence, it’s also making sure the client is able to understand that what they have done or what someone has done to them doesn’t define who they are. They have the power to change it, to move on into a different pattern, either with someone else or on their own.”
One of the tools Caryn uses to empower her clients is picking up on the positives of their personalities and experiences. “I remind them of the good, positive things I see, and the values they give to their children in the home. It helps them look at the positive and not the negative about themselves. I make myself available to them day or night should they need to talk. I give them the tools, and they take them and go to the next level,” Caryn says. “I take very seriously the Counselor-At-Law part of my profession, and a counselor is what I become. It’s in caring about the people I represent, not just the legal issues we are dealing with. I look at the whole picture, the whole person, and they come out feeling more confident than when they came in. They develop into someone they like, they respect, and they can go forward and pass that along to their children and to others.” The most important part of Caryn’s law practice is how much she cares for people. “The advocacy I give is not just legal advocacy, but also

personal advocacy, priming them for the future after the litigation which seems allconsuming.
My clients come first and foremost, and they’ll always get 150% of me if they want it and need it.”

Getting a Grip on Anxiety:
Enter the New Year without anything holding you back; the process may not be easy, but it is simple. By Dr. Denee Jordan, PSY.D
When it comes to really changing the behaviors, thoughts, and feelings we have been rehearsing for years, the work required can be significant. After all, chances are, if you have an anxiety disorder, you are pretty good at feeling nervous and afraid. Think of all the energy you have used up suffering from your fear. What would happen if you put as much energy into practicing new behaviors? Anxiety disorders are very persistent and can produce tremendous suffering. Anxiety is natural; debilitating anxiety is not. In fact, basic anxiety is necessary. It is our chemical preparation for potential danger. The more anxious we feel, the more we lose our ability to use our human intellect and the more prepared we become to protect ourselves from life-threatening danger; much like a wild animal. I like to think of it as awareness moving from the ‘front’ of the brain (location of rational, reasonable thinking), to the ‘back’ of the brain (location of basic survival).
20
www.kandeeg.com
When we lived in the wild, a rapid shift from intellect to ‘fight, flee, or freeze’, was absolutely necessary; however in modern society, it can create a myriad of problems. We are seldom in truly lifethreatening situations. The interesting thing is that panic is a reaction to help prevent us from dying, but it is so uncomfortable it feels like we are dying. In fact, a panic attack itself can be much more uncomfortable than the supposed danger, and eventually the panic attack itself becomes the danger. Because panic is at the end of the Survival Spectrum, the part of the brain that can discern the difference between a lifethreatening situation and one that isn’t, has already been disengaged. This is why logic can seem so useless when trying to manage a panic attack. It is supposed to be like this so we are in the optimal defensive state. In many ways, it can be compared to going into shock when the body is badly injured.
threatening danger. Eventually, the brain automatically associates this feeling of terror with a ‘trigger’, or cause, in order to avoid this danger in the future. We believe the cause of our panic attack is this trigger; when, in fact, the cause of our panic attack is our lack of ability to recognize and regulate our feelings or fear responses. Panic attacks do not come out of nowhere. They are at the end of a progressive survival continuum. There can also be many contributing factors, besides the trigger, that can intensify the anxiety such as fatigue, hunger, illness, etc.; all of which need to be taken into consideration as well.
When looking at anxiety disorders it is very important to see how the stimulusreaction cycle becomes progressively worse. The reason being is that the more anxious we become, the more we lose our ability to rationally manage our feelings and the less faith we have in our ability to do so. A person becomes afraid of fear itself and begins to live at a progressively more intensive, baseline state of anxiety which, in turn, makes them more susceptible to a full-blown panic attack. Without intentionally breaking the cycle, it frequently happens again and the baseline anxiety goes up even further. Eventually a person completely loses faith in his/her ability to respond in healthy, manageable ways to general stress and/or the trigger. S/he naturally tries to control the perceived danger (going outside, germs, becoming homosexual, eating certain foods, being dirty and so forth) and this leads to The message from the body and the avoidant behavior, obsessive thinking, brain is that there is imminent, life- withdrawal and shame. It becomes a
Winter/Spring 2015 - Kandee G Enterprises
Article progressively vicious cycle. People with Anxiety Disorders can often trace a history of ‘original anxiety’. In other words, there is frequently a significant level of anxiety s/he learned to have in their early years that they have carried with them. Remember, anxiety is a natural response to perceived danger, and perceived danger as a child can be significantly more intense than that of an adult. Children by nature lack the skill to adequately manage significant stress and anxiety and internalize it. Nearly every person I have worked with who has OCD or other anxiety disorders has a history of baseline nervousness. Again, recognition of baseline anxiety levels becomes an important part of recovery. I ask my clients to use a rating scale for their anxiety levels 1 through 5: 1- Without bothersome anxiety 2- Noticeable anxiety- Able to function in usual activities 3- Anxiety is prevalent- Interfering in ability to engage in usual activities 4- Anxiety is extremely uncomfortable - Not able to function in usual activities. Conscious fear of having a Panic Attack 5- Panic Attack- Physical symptoms (rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, sweaty palms, lightheadedness, terror, and so forth) The use of a scale helps to contain the anxiety and helps a person to view his/her feelings more objectively. The scale is used as a reference point multiple times a day. The person begins to recognize more subtle fluctuations in feelings and practices prescribed skills to regulate them. The person then begins to build back self-trust and sees s/he is capable of experiencing different levels of day-
to-day anxiety, recognizing it and regulating it. It is essential that the person sees that it is a loss of faith in their own ability to respond accordingly to people, places and situations that is the problem. They are afraid of their responses, not of the actual trigger. We wire the two things together in the brain when they are actually separate. The good news is that recovery is possible with compassion, courage, patience and commitment. Recovery is very simple, but usually not easy. It involves a series of individualized physical and mental exercises to re-teach the brain how to respond to different levels of anxiety. These exercises are done daily and monitored and supported daily. The basic idea is that ‘Practice makes Progress’. The more a person practices his/her recovery, the more progress will be made. The goal is to restore a person’s ability to recognize and regulate his/her feelings in an effective, loving way. This recognition and regulation is done consistently whether or not there is an uncomfortable level of anxiety. Human beings function better when we remain in (or return to) the ‘front’ of our brains where we are able to calmly, rationally, deal with our lives. We are amazing creatures with amazing brains. We have anxiety attacks as a perfectly natural reaction to our perception of intense danger and our drive to survive. We can learn to respond differently as a natural part of our need to trust ourselves, feel safe, and evolve. Anxiety can be crippling, but it is actually nature’s way of trying to protect us. With compassion and commitment, it is entirely possible to regain the ability to regulate a very natural response to life. It’s simply a matter of realizing that you had the key to recovery within you all along and trusting that you will always have
the strength to overcome.

and other spiritual teachers, avatars, saints, or enlightened people as miserable, self-sacrificing, allsuffering martyrs. But that’s not the Jesus I know in my heart, and that’s not the Buddha I know in my soul. The Jesus I know in my heart is singing, dancing, and celebrating. He is a bubbling brook, overflowing like a spring, flooding people with bliss, beauty, blessings, and benediction! The Jesus I know in my heart is not God’s son suffering on the cross – he’s God’s son being resurrected into heaven, enjoying the kingdom of God, right alongside God himself. In my heart, Jesus wasn’t kicking cans after the crucifixion – he was dancing, singing, celebrating, and merry-making! His reunion with God was festive; it was joyous. He didn’t meet God reluctantly – he danced, sung, and celebrated his way back to his father! (This is an excerpt from Robert’s new book, Bliss from the Inside Out: How to Feel Good and Find God, available exclusively on Amazon.com.) God isn’t found – he’s felt. Finding God means feeling God. The only way to feel God is to feel good. The search for God is really a search for the ultimate feeling of bliss inside yourself. All religions promise paradise, but if you can become blissful right here and now, you’re already in paradise, and there’s nowhere else you need to go. When you’re blissful, paradise is where you are, no matter where you are. When you’re blissful, you’ve found God already. You don’t need a religion – you are a religion unto yourself! The blissful heart is full of God.

Being blissful is at the heart of every real religion. The gospel of Jesus is full of good news. When you’re blissful, you’re living Jesus’ gospel. Listen to Jesus’ words: “Joy of the Lord”; “Joy is the fruit of the spirit”; “The heaven is a kingdom of joy”; “Rejoice, rejoice!” Or, listen to the Psalms: “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations” (Psalm 100:1-5). Many of us think of Jesus, Buddha,

To really know Christ – the Christ within, Christ consciousness – is not a burden. It’s a blessing! It’s blissful! If you know God, you can’t help but be blissful; if you are blissful, you can’t help but know God. They are one and the same. If you know God, you are full of music. You are full of song and dance. Likewise, if you are blissful, your life will be full of God – full of peace, love, and joy. Think about it: If you’re not blissful by knowing God, then how could you ever be blissful? Likewise, if you don’t know God by being blissful, then how could you ever know God?
Article In my book, to know God is to be blissful, and to be blissful is to know God – each path leads to the other. Some people – people like me – become blissful, first, and then come to know God as a result of being blissful. Other people know God, first, and then become blissful as a result of knowing God. To me, it’s just semantics. What does it matter how you find God? What does it matter by which path you find bliss? Isn’t finding God and being blissful the miracle itself?

By Tom North, author of True North: The Shocking Truth About “Yours, Mine and Ours”
everything in the
Meditation saved my life. My father, Richard North, died in a Navy jet test flight crash when I was six years old. Fifteen months after his death, my mother, Helen North who had eight children, re-married a man named Frank Beardsley who had ten, making us one of the largest families in the country. We became famous, and our story was featured in the movie, Yours, Mine and Ours. But it wasn’t one big happy family. We had to hide the fact that we were living a lie. My stepfather was abusive on every level; physically, emotionally and sexually. His constant rage, disapproval and controlling personality left deep emotional scars. And, to make matters worse, our family hid this from the outside world, so we each suffered in silence. The toll I paid was enormous. Lacking any sense of self-worth, it drove me to depression and drugs. I imagine many people will identify with the feelings, even if their home life was not as extreme as mine. But trauma is trauma--whether suffered in a living room or the theatre of war. As a young adult I discovered meditation. It was my passage out of a

Meditation was and still is a vital therapy for my continued survival and healing from a life of child abuse and domestic violence. I still practice it every day, having begun more than 38 years ago.
The Health Benefits of Daily Meditation are Many The scientific evidence documenting the benefits of Transcendental Meditation, especially for PTSD, which includes child abuse, is conclusive. While there may always be skeptics, it is irrefutable that meditation delivers improvements on every level of life, from stress management to emotional, physical and spiritual balance.
Meditation is indeed a powerful tool for health and healing on all levels. Research shows that group meditation can produce a radiating influence of peace in society. Recently, Dr. Deepak Chopra sponsored and conducted an online Global Group Meditation for Peace with over 100,000 people participating from around the world. I was happy to be a part of this important event. This was a tremendous service Dr. Chopra was delivering to the audience, for as he explained, meditation is the key to our connection with ourselves: Our Divine Selves. It is also our connection to the collective consciousness. Studies show that

A family so famous in America that Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda played the parents in the box office smash--Yours Mine and Ours. But they were anything from blissful; in fact they were the beaten and battered Beardsleys. That’s the real hidden story behind the spotlight. And Tom North, Helen’s second eldest son, is now revealing how he survived the ordeal of living with a horrifyingly abusive stepfather that drove him to depression and drugs, and deprived him of his self-worth-and a mother who protected the image of the “perfect” family at all costs. But True North is much more than an inspiring and powerful account of a man who rose to success against all odds. It’s a story of how Transcendental Meditation (TM) brought peace to Tom North and saved his life. that Della has longed for a comb and brush for her beautiful, long hair and he sells the watch to buy these items for her. Each has sacrificed their only possessions in order that they might get something that will be meaningful to the other. In the end, they both realize the meaning of true love because they each see tangible proof of the sacrifice that the other made for their happiness.
Our only daughter recently got married and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the celebration and festivities. Weddings are a special time when much focus tends to be placed on several of the peripheral issues, such as the flowers for the Church, the songs that will be sung during the service, the wedding dress that will be worn and even the colours of the suits that the guys will wear, etc. When our son-in-law first came to tell me that he wanted to marry our daughter, I remember wondering if they really had any clue what true love was like or what it meant to really express love for someone else. I know that when my wife and I were married, I certainly had no idea what it really meant. I only knew that I was scared and intimidated by the future and what would be expected of me as a husband and if we were blessed with children, what would be required from us as parents. Just before our wedding, I remember that my grandmother was speaking to my mother-in-law and

they agreed that a successful marriage is not a 50/50 relationship but that it requires “whatever it takes – every day” to make it work. I found that to be a sobering thought. Perhaps one of the best stories that describes the sacrifice that true love requires of each person, is contained in the short story entitled “The Gift of the Magi.” In this piece of literature, which is set in New York in the early 1900’s, we read about a young couple (Jim and Della) who are very much in love, but who are also very poor. Between them, they have less than $2.00 in cash and Christmas is the next day. Each of them is prepared to sacrifice the things that they cherish the most so that they can make the other person happy by surprising them with the perfect Christmas gift. Della knows that Jim cherishes the only family heirloom that they have – a small pocket watch – and so she sells her long hair to get a little money to buy him a chain for the watch. Jim knows

The challenge for each of us, married or single, is to learn from these examples and to give of ourselves to each other every day. My fuel comes from what surrounds me, and I am grateful for the blessings that unfold before me. My photographs are symbolic of the beauty that I carry in my heart. Sunrises and sunsets, with their ever changing mystery, are my meditation.
Author, philanthropist and teacher, Barb Schmidt wrote in her book, The Practice: “This day is now over. I choose to live in the present moment. I am thankful for having been given this day and the blessing that it has held. I am always working towards the person I want to be.”

Passion and a Mother’s Love Drives JDOGG to Success By Jonathan JDOGG Lederman
I was there the morning my mom made her transition, holding her hand. I remember looking at the clock and it read 7:47 AM. I quickly added the numbers and realized it added up to 18, which, in Hebrew, is Chai representing life. It was 92 degrees out and I was shivering. I reached into the trunk of my car and what did I find? My American Cancer Society Relay for Life hoodie. I put it on and went back inside to finish making the calls necessary to let everyone know about my mom’s passing. I drove to Starbucks shortly after and it was then that I realized that I had a mission, to honor my mother’s memory and to continue her legacy of being of service and value.
SUNRISE, FL - It has been over 25 months since my mother, Judith Miller, was called home to GOD after
suffering a major heart attack brought on from the complications of battling non-operable metastatic lung cancer.
My mom showed me love and encouraged me to be passionate in all that I do as she believed that passion + action = success. Her love combined with my passion to show the world that service to humanity is the best work of life has led me to become successful in my mission to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Shortly after her passing, I rekindled the spark to be a leader in finishing

the fight by recommitting my efforts to fundraise for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life. My mother’s passing lit a fire in me and made me come more alive than ever before as I knew I now had an angel watching over me and guiding me. My mother’s love and memory has propelled me to raise over $1700 in 2013 and $2557 in 2014. I hope to raise over $3000 for The 2015 American Cancer Society Relay For Life Of West Boca Raton. Each day, I wake up and come alive by promoting http://main.acsevents. org/goto/jdogg2 and encouraging people to make donations. Each day, I take about 1 hour to follow the passion of helping those affected by cancer so that I can be part of a team that provides hope, progress, and answers to those affected by cancer. People ask me why I am so passionate about this effort and my answer is simple: because of the love my mother showed me and the courage she showed the world when she was battling lung cancer. It is my hope that those reading this article will share in the love of my mother and join me on May 2, 2015 from 12 PM - 12 AM at The St. Jude Catholic Church in Boca Raton to see my passion in

action. I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to emcee the event and be a participant. The two greatest days in the world are the day you are born and the day you find out why. I have found my why and it drives me daily to shed a light of hope to others so that one day no one has to suffer a loss due to cancer. May your day be filled with much peace, love, joy, and prosperity as you follow your passion and come alive. their own and were longing for this experience to be behind us. The next morning I asked Kayleigh if she would like to play the part of Tom and Sally and dance some more and she didn’t connect at all with what I was saying. To her that experience was yesterday. It was not significant any more nor was it relevant. It was an experience which was behind her.
Excerpted and adapted from When Did You Die?
She had put her whole self in the day before and no reason to recall it nor relive it again.
Do you remember being a little kid and dancing to the song The Hokey Pokey, putting different parts of yourself into it and then being asked to “put your whole self in?” Remember how good it felt to shake your body and turn around? You were present, alive, and awake! Isn’t that what life is all about?
So what needs to happen for us to make the shift? Decide now, today, this moment with every encounter you are going to put your whole self in. If you are at a restaurant with friends put your phone away, if you are going on your first date – be you and share who you really are rather than holding back and editing most of the things you share, and if you are facing a fear truly face it rather than replace it and keep walking forward in the direction of your life. Put your whole self in. As you get into this practice and it becomes habit three things will occur. 1) You will have more energy
You put your whole self in! This really is what life is all about, but why do so few of us put our whole selves in? When we are children we innately live in the moment by putting our whole selves in. I remember a number of years ago I visited a friend of mine and a four year old child was there asking me to dance with her. I got on my knees so we could be closer to the same height and we proceeded to dance. We were pretending to be Tom and Sally out for the evening immersed in this beautiful dance. Each time we completed the song, Kayleigh would say, “Let’s do it again.” Without hesitation she was putting her whole self in. By this point, my knees were having thoughts of
the Toms and Sallys in our lives who have either wronged us, or shamed us, or they didn’t do it right. We are aiming to continue dancing through each day of life with all this weight on our hearts and mind while not being able to be truly impassioned and energized in this day and this moment.
This is the way we naturally are destined and designed to be in our day to day lives. We are literally meant to go from experience to experience and put our whole selves in. Yet what happens is most of us are walking through life disconnected and drained and rarely present for what is occurring NOW. We are toting all of the past on our backs and shoulders, recalling all
There’s a story of a guy riding a bicycle up hill and he is really struggling. What he doesn’t realize is that he is driving with his brakes on. The energy it is taking for him to move forward while at the same time “being locked in place” is likened to a person who wants to move forward yet is holding on to past sorrow, or the people they perceived have done harm against them or energies of regret and disappointment. 2) You will be more empowered Putting your whole self in the moment requires a practice of being able to say who you are and be what you feel. If

begin to measure it daily in your work, with your families and loved ones, with the moments of silence and retreat you gave yourself. Begin this amazing, enlightening practice. Affirm before every event –I am putting my whole self in and reflect at the end of the day, did I do it? Did I put my whole self in? If not, how can I make more of an effort tomorrow? This is your moment – begin now. Put your whole self in! Be Life!
you are committed to being a person who does not carry around past luggage from yesterday then you will be able to travel lightly as you go from place to place and person to person for you are being true to yourself. Just the simple and profound commitment to speak and live the real you will change your energy level dramatically. 3) Freedom is gifted to you and to others You are able to truly put your whole self in first and not wait until you turn yourself around just like the order of the song. When you put your whole self in and allow your energy

to change which will change your life, an amazing and incredible thing happens. You feel better, you like the feelings and thoughts you are having, and you have people saying to you all the time, “How do you have so much energy?” The wonder of this is oddly enough you are able to give the same permission to others in your life. You begin to see them as whole rather than broken, possible instead of impossible, and life becomes a new playing field. You wake up one morning and you are truly free from your own self- bondage. This inner dialogue moves from being a thought into a feeling and finally a realization. Your whole self – you

Article World Peace Caravan By Gary Young
In the history of mankind we have not managed to create sustainable world peace yet. Perhaps we need fresher, less jaded, more forward-thinking and guileless minds to help find the solution. Perhaps we should ask our youth for their ideas. After all, they are our next generation of leaders. Why not engage their optimism, ingenuity and dynamism now? The World Peace Caravan is doing just that. A global peace movement that will culminate in a 12 day camel caravan from Petra, Jordan to Jerusalem in December, 2015, the World Peace Caravan is selecting a delegation of 12 Youth Ambassadors, ages 16-24, from a worldwide pool of candidates to spearhead the caravan. Furthermore,

they are fostering an online Youth Community to provide young people everywhere a platform through which to share their ideas, voice their opinions, educate and be educated. The Youth Ambassadors and members of the Youth Community will participate in a unique, solutions-driven, projectbased, global educational program based upon some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Young people the world over will be collaborating on tackling such lofty goals as eradicating poverty and hunger, ensuring environmental sustainability, and attaining healthy lives for all. Three separate times, Gary Young,

CEO of Young Living Essential Oils, dreamt of leading a long caravan of camels through the desert on a journey for peace. The camels, ridden by people of all faiths, came from every direction and merged into one united stream. After the third dream, so vivid it was almost jarring, Gary decided to tell his wife and two of his closest friends about it. Uncannily, they each responded with the exact same words, “This you must do. And so began the plans for the inaugural World Peace Caravan, 2015. Gary had recognized the trail that the caravan had traveled in his dreams as the Ancient Frankincense Trail in Arabia, since he had explored the

storied trail many times on his travels there to research frankincense for his essential oils company. 3,000 years ago, the Queen of Sheba journeyed 1,400 miles with 750 camels on the ancient trade route to bring her peace offerings to King Solomon in Jerusalem. It was decided that a modern day journey for peace be created that would invite people of all cultures, faiths, and backgrounds to come together on a caravan for peace that will retrace the steps of this earliest peace movement along parts of the Frankincense Trail. The World Peace Caravan 2015 will
begin in Petra, Jordan on December 15, 2015 and end in Jerusalem on December 26. The caravan will be spearheaded by the 12 member World Peace Caravan Youth Delegation and anchored by two landmark events, a two day World Peace Caravan Peace and Health Conference on the Dead Sea in Jordan and a World Peace Caravan Concert for Peace in Jerusalem. After a pre-launch celebration in Petra on the 15th, participants will caravan through Jordan by camel, horse or foot for four days and nights, camping along the way while exchanging multi-cultural activities including music, dance and educational seminars and exploring historical and religious sites. The caravan will break on December 20 for a high-level, interactive WPC Peace and Health Conference at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre on the shore of the Dead Sea in Jordan on December 21 and 22. The conference of invited international peace advocates will focus on health, education, and the role of women and youth in peacemaking. On December 23, the caravan will cross the border into the Palestine Authority for a visit to Jericho and a two day trek
through the Judean desert, arriving in Bethlehem on December 25. On Saturday, December 26, the caravan will culminate with a Peace Walk into Jerusalem and the blockbuster World Peace Caravan Concert for Peace. Internationally renowned musical artists will mix with musicians from around the globe for a night of oncein-a-lifetime performances at the new state-of-the art Jerusalem Arena. The evening’s festivities will be broadcast and streamed around the world.

Article Challenges Are Opportunities On The Road To Coming Alive By Hank Eder
Is screenwriting a laborious process? You might say so. It involves story plotting on colored index cards, soulsearching for ideas and solutions that fall outside the realm of cliché. It requires the perseverance to write a first draft (a process many aspiring screenwriters never complete), leaving it alone for a few weeks, and then looking at it with fresh eyes and asking yourself, “Does this work? Why or why not?” Something that seemed like utter genius the first time around now seems like a mere exercise in ego. Does it move the story forward? No? Kill it. Mercilessly. Even if it’s your favorite part.
Recently I co-wrote some screenplays with my lifetime friend and writing partner, Mark Lew. Some say it takes a rare breed of crazy dreamer to write screenplays. Maybe so, but I have found nothing else in this world that makes me feel so alive.
Now it’s time to spend countless hours reshuffling cards, adding new cards, and tearing up old ones. The process becomes an obsession. Ideas come while in the shower, driving, or trying to get a good night’s sleep. Let it percolate slowly until you feel the alchemy is right for grinding out a second draft. If you shuffled your cards in the right order and mulled deeply over divergent solutions to your characters’ dilemmas, this time around should be infinitely better than your first draft. But there’s that should word rearing its ugly head!
Screenplay writing is an art unto itself. Some call it a science. To me, it has elements of both. There is a definite formula, or template. Without that formula, potential producers, agents, and managers just won’t read your scripts. That’s the ‘science part. The art lies in the ability to conceive a story worth telling, thinking it through, and sticking with it from conception to completion. That’s what many consider the hard part.
Second draft is now complete. It’s the time to enlist the services of a trusted reader. No, not your sister or your mother, but someone who will look at it with critical eyes and give an honest appraisal. If you don’t have a friend like that, there are professional readers who offer script “coverage,” in which they assess strengths and weaknesses, and then they offer a “recommend” or “pass,” pertaining to whether they would recommend this
screenplay to producers. While waiting for these pearls of wisdom from your reader, the gears are turning anew as another story idea is worming its way around in your brain. So out come the colored index cards as themes and scenes start to unfold. Get it all down. You never know where it could lead. Word comes from your reader. That brilliant choice your character made to solve the conflict has already been done to death. Find a more divergent solution. Or perhaps, as just happened in one of our stories, you need to assess whether the story would be better told through the eyes of a different main character. At this stage, you might have nine months or more of time invested, and it looks like you’re going to start again from square one, or maybe square two. You may ask if I was discouraged by the feedback from the reader? Definitely not! Awed is more like it. This particular reader is a professional “script doctor.” As a friend, she agreed to take a look and make suggestions aimed at moving these screenplays toward the quality that would get them taken seriously by producers. What she proposed on both stories will lead to many more months of rethinking, plotting, and rewriting. Is it laborious? You bet! Is it liberating? Beyond a doubt! A few nights ago I was doing some dreaming and visioning with my wife, Barbara. She asked, what is your passion? I told her I am visioning the day when Mark and I have sold some screenplays and our agent is waiting

The vision resonated for both of us and brought it into the realm of possibility and probability. This brings back one of my favorite quotes from Kandee G. You’ve heard me say this one before. I paraphrase: Don’t get caught up in the how of things. Get caught up in the dynamic power pictures of the amazing life you want. So here I am caught up in the power pictures of my life as a successful screenwriter. Nothing, and I really mean nothing, makes me feel more
alive. I would say I’ve found my bliss. Hank Eder is a writer and PR/Marketing specialist, living near Asheville, NC, with his wife, Barbara, and Kaya the Cat. Second Chance Society (SCS) was founded in 2001 and thus far has helped well over 5,000 individuals get back to self-sufficiency. According to Its Mission Statement, the purpose of the organization is to help the homeless and struggling by giving moral encouragement and removing material barriers to self-sufficiency. SCS sponsors two programs. The first is the Hand-Up Program. They believe in a Hand-Up, not a Hand-Out. This program does two things. The first is to provide items needed to accept a job. This can be tools, uniforms, work boots, licensure or many other things. In this case, the client has been offered a job but cannot accept it without certain items which he/she cannot provide, but then SCS comes to the rescue. The second is to provide help with education. In Broward County the homeless can go to the three technical centers to learn a trade without paying tuition. However, books and supplies are not furnished and this is where SCS steps in and helps. SCS also pays tuition on some short courses such as for security and some medical courses. SCS then keeps in contact with these clients for at least a year in an effort to encourage them to keep going forward. The second program is the I.D. program. Many in the homeless and struggling population have lost their identification. Without identification, a person can do very little. Since Jan. 1, 2013, the truly homeless can get an I.D. without charge but a birth certificate, and sometimes a marriage license, must be provided. SCS provides the checks to get hundreds of birth and marriage certificates as well as many I.D.’s each year. Getting an I.D. is truly the very first step in becoming self-sufficient.

The Second Chance Society is a United Way of Broward County 2014 to 2015 funded Community Impact Partner and integral member of the Continuum of Care for the Homeless.
Additional funding is provided by individual, corporate and foundation donors. SCS has just one paid employee, and is otherwise staffed on an all volunteer basis.
We help in so many ways. Sidney had a good job as an auto mechanic. However, he was a diabetic and his feet got so bad that he could no longer work. His doctor had even said that he might require an amputation, but the doctor also said that special shoes which cost between $400 and $500 might save his feet and permit him to go back to work. Sidney was able to get a 25% discount from the company and had saved over half of the money needed to buy them but still needed $130 to get the shoes. You should have seen Sidney and the tear in his eye when we said we would pay the balance owed. Today, Sidney is back on his old job instead of being on the streets. There has been so much in our local newspapers and on TV about feeding the homeless on the beach. If only we could get all the homeless back to being self-sufficient, the whole issue would be eliminated. Our goal is to help these individuals to get off government help and get them back to being self-respecting, tax-paying citizens. You can rest assured that any donation you send us will be used with the utmost care. Our latest audit shows that 89.5% of every dollar we receive goes to help the clients and only 10.5% is used for administration and fundraising. Very few charities can match our record. We can do it because we have only one employee and the rest of the work is done by us dedicated volunteers. In closing, may I ask you to please remember those in need. Your donation will give hope to homeless and struggling men and women. Thank you for caring and for giving others a “Second Chance.” Peace and Grace, Pat Owen P.S. rticle FAeature Revelation at 18,500 Feet By Becky Woodbridge
I was so tired of crying. That’s all I had done for the better part of six months in the aftermath of my divorce. The only thing the tears did was mask a deep, troubling truth that I had to face: I was lost and scared. After eighteen years of marriage, I didn’t know who I was.
was unbearable. Not only had I lost my friend and lover, but I had lost my connection to the world around me. If I wasn’t the wife of the pilot, who was I? But I knew wallowing was not a solution to my problems. To find myself, I needed to go on my own journey.
My ex-husband was a pilot, and I had helped him get his career off the ground. I married him when I was eighteen. Being so young, I wasn’t confident enough to be my own person, so I played the role of the dutiful wife and supported my husband. By the time he earned his pilot’s license, I had worked three different jobs to pay for his college and flight school. I spent much of our marriage immersed in his orbit, while my own identity was barely a blip on anyone’s radar.
The first thing I did was skydive. At the time, it felt like the best way to find some confidence. It worked; I was motivated to keep pushing myself. Then, I ran the Walt Disney World Marathon in Orlando. I went snowboarding. I rode a mechanical bull and suffered two broken ribs, but it didn’t matter; I’d crossed yet another adventure off my bucket list.
When we finally separated, the pain

some baggage. While at a party, I overheard a man named Frank talking about an upcoming adventure to climb Kala Patthar, a landmark in the Himalayas. My ears perked up. Kala Patthar’s peak, at 18,500 feet, provides jawdropping views of Everest, and it is challenging yet accessible for people without significant mountaineering experience. I knew I needed to climb this mountain. On March 15, we all boarded a plane for Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Our expedition included sherpas, who served as guides, and I was the only female in our group. We all experienced the altitude-related headaches and the physical strain of day-long climbs in thin air. Tents did little to protect us; it was so cold at night that we slept in
AFrticle eature full gear, including ski jackets, gloves, hats, face covers, and heavy-duty sleeping bags. The day of our summit, we awoke at 3 a.m. to begin the slow climb to the peak. A few hours later, standing almost 19,000 feet above sea level and reveling in the splendor of the Himalayas, I knew that it was time to let go of the baggage that I had brought to the top of Patthar. I was no longer the wife of a pilot. I was my own person, someone who had the confidence and the courage to step out from behind the shadows, take risks, and live life on her own terms. I knew where I had been and where I was going. I may have found my identity at a high altitude, but, in
that moment, I felt more grounded than ever. with no regrets is truly an ambitious and wholesome goal. None of us really want to die. I certainly have never met anyone who looked forward to dying. Even though we all know that death is a fact of life, we do not look forward to it with anticipation. Those of us with Faith may look forward to life after death but not to death itself. For a long time now, I have felt that my principal goal in life was to make sure that when I face our God and He asks me what I did with the gifts and the many people that He sent into my life, I would have a good answer. Now I know exactly what that answer should be. I hope to be able to say that I have died empty. Those two words should say it all. I was once told that the secret to a happy life is to die empty. From the first moment that I heard the phrase, I loved the concept and have to admit that without consciously knowing, I have been trying to die empty for many years. However, in many ways, and from various different perspectives, I still have a long way to go.
to die empty of hate and jealousy?
Think about it. What a wonderful goal: to be able to die empty of love. Not devoid of love or lacking love, but empty of love. If, at the end of our days, we can say that we have loved all that we can and have shared our love with everyone that we met along the way. If we can truly give of ourselves to everyone, especially so to our loved ones and our families, that we are totally spent at the end of our days. Surely, this is indeed one of the secrets to a happy life.
We probably should not forget the concept of dying empty of regret. Surely, one of the keys to a really happy life would be to know that you have accomplished everything that you were meant to do; that you have used all your God-given talents as best as you possibly could; that you have reached out to everyone and tried to provide meaning and goodness in their lives; that you have encouraged your spouse and your children – perhaps even your parents and other family members – to lead a more positive and fulfilling life. Dying

to invest, but that is truly all it takes to change your world - and the world around you.
Excerpted from The Prayer Project environment, our economy, our own Book futures and simply assume that everything will just work itself out. Welcome to The Prayer Project! The world is affected with selfishness, greed and disregard for life. Different factions of terrorists and political leaders seek to control and dominate others. Oppressed people and those choosing a path toward spiritual growth are ready for a change. Peace is the message we all need to be meditating and praying on! Peace within ourselves and peace in the outer world-they work hand in hand.
The Prayer Project is just that; a project designed to do one simple thing: change the world through the power of prayer. That’s it. You can change the world through the power of prayer in as little as 10 minutes a day. The world is on the brink of change. No longer can we disregard our

This Prayer Project quest began when I thought about the sad state of the world today-in terms of war, injustice and environmental decline--and wondered how I could help spread a message of peace and an experience of divine joy that everyone could participate in. It is important that we find a way to become happy and inspired again, don’t you think? And to protect and nurture our planet and its inhabitants.... Is there a way to do this, to create a feeling of hope and happiness every day and benefit others somehow?
You may be questioning how one person can change the world in mere minutes a day. The beauty of this movement is that it is not just one person, but hundreds and thousands, or even millions of people praying for peace, joy and love all at the same time. That’s right; together we really can change the world. As we begin to take responsibility for our lives, a transformation occurs. We will inspire others to also take up the cause of wanting change and transformation. It is through individual transformation that each of us can do our part to bring more peace, joy, and love to the world. Imagine changing the world - literally changing the vibration that exists in the air around us - merely by taking time out of your day to stop and... pray. Now imagine your neighbor joining you, your colleagues at work, in the dorm, in the park, at the bookstore - anywhere and everywhere you are.
Now imagine millions of people, in millions of homes, offices, colleges and universities, parks, parking lots and places of worship joining you; imagine the power coursing through What can one person do, when it often the universe, imagine the positive seems we are so isolated and alone? energy flowing from this simple, daily exercise! I contemplated these questions and came up with an answer. What if I told What is this exercise? It’s very simple: you that we can transform the world all you do is pray three times a day, for in three minutes-three times a day? three minutes a day! That does not seem like a lot of time

Article • 6 a.m. or 6:30 a.m. or 7 a.m. • 12 noon or 12:30 p.m. or 1 p.m. • 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. I call this my 3 x 3 System and it is at the heart of The Prayer Project. All I ask is that you pray in the morning, in the middle of the day and in the evening and that, as you increase the amount of prayer in your life you spread the wealth and encourage others around you to do the same. Speaking of spreading the wealth, you’ve just found your first prayer partner! That’s right, I have made the commitment to do this with you. I will be there every day praying for three minutes, three times a day.-and there will be a new prayers frequently posted in the prayer gallery on the www.Prayer-Project.com website! I am furthering my commitment by traveling and providing Divine Transmission through public appearances and workshops, so that I can spread the movement as far I can in the next three years!
You can also choose established prayers and shift between faiths during the different times you pray. My book The Prayer Project has hundreds of such peace and healing prayers. This way, you can get a feel for how different faiths pray. Almost all of the prayers and contemplations look toward some sort of higher power for their blessing of peace on earth. The language may be different and the way they ask might be new to you, but all of the prayers have been chosen for their central theme of peace. You may speak your prayers aloud, your may recite them in your head (say, if you’re stuck in an elevator at your lunchtime prayer session), you may use a device like a rosary or prayer beads to help you count for the three minutes, or even a timer or your wristwatch. Whatever way you choose is correct, as there is not right or wrong way to pray for peace. Remember to “pray with your feet” as well as with your mouth or your mind. What do I mean by this? Prayer is a living thing, not just words on a printed page or hymns we share in a church. To truly change our world, our prayer must transform our lives as well as the lives of others. That means praying with your feet, by doing good deeds and moving the prayer chain forward! I invite you to sign the The Prayer Project pledge on the website and even become a Prayer Project Ambassador, Furthermore, you can submit your own prayers for the world on an accompanying web page in order to share them. Best of all, your can download the entire Prayer Project Book for free at www.PrayerProject.com.

With his thirst for knowledge and his drive for endless learning, he inspired me to be a voracious reader at a young age. At ten years old, I started reading the works of Erle Stanley Gardner and became immersed in the character of Perry Mason with a Dictionary and a Thesaurus always in hand.
Death comes like a thief in the middle of the night! In this journey that we call LIFE, with its glorious twists and turns, we are sometimes thrown a curve ball – one that is unexpected, yet so profound, that it leaves a lasting impression in every fiber of our being. Today, it is with great pride that I share with you a story about my childhood hero, my grandfather, Senon Posadas. LOLO is the Tagalog word for grandfather; Tagalog being the national language of The Philippines. LOLO SENON, as we fondly called him, was a true Warrior of Light, who championed “all that is Good and all that is Just.” He was a charismatic leader who inspired greatness in others with his powerful and magnetic personality. He was an extraordinary man; a tower of strength bursting with pure Yang energy. He was a brilliant, highly educated attorney; wellrespected by friend and foe alike. As Executive Director, he led one of the

In March of 1996, our family boarded a plane headed to Manila, where LOLO lived. I was told a few weeks prior that LOLO was sick. We spoke over a black rotary telephone; there was no Skype back then. I told him that I was graduating with highest honors from Lower School and I could not wait for him to get better because he promised to pin my medal during the graduation ceremony. All of a sudden, we are en route to a hospital? That did not make any sense to me! My inner voice was telling me something was drastically wrong! Those instincts were on target. One of my uncles picked us up from the airport. When we arrived at LOLO’s house, he shared the sad news that LOLO passed on the night before. Apparently, the physicians diagnosed my grandfather with pancreatic cancer just after Christmas. It was a rapidly accelerating disease that aggressively arrested his health. Death comes like a thief in the middle of the night! I was in a daze for the next 9 days of the funeral wake. The gut-wrenching sense of loss and traumatic emotional upheaval was beyond the comprehension of an 11-year old girl. I could hear his booming voice. I could smell the scent of his aftershave. I could feel the warmth of his hand in

mine, just like the way he used to hold it as our family walked in to church together on Sundays. More than once, I turned around hoping that he would be there to give me a big hug and tell me that, “everything’s okay” and that, “this was just a bad dream and it’s all over now.” At the funeral mass, I could feel LOLO’s overwhelming presence: in our thoughts – filled with wonderful memories of him; in our hearts – filled with the love he so generously gave; and in our souls – filled with the warmth his kindness and compassion evoked in others. I gazed in awe at the hundreds of people in our midst that traveled from various cities, provinces and countries to be with our family that day. There was not a dry eye in the pews. The children sobbed unceasingly; with hiccups in between. The women wept delicately; with gentle sniffles behind a lace handkerchief. The men grieved silently; with tears unabashedly streaming down their cheeks. I was amazed at the countless hands that were raised by the multitude of pallbearers - seeking the honor of carrying LOLO to his final resting place. I watched with bated breath as his casket was brought into the crematory. I listened to the ominous creaking of the heavy wooden doors as they shut ever so slowly; marking that historic moment in time when the blazing flame that was once my grandfather was extinguished forever. LOLO always made everyone feel special. I heard testimonials of his wondrous deeds from the farmer, who tilled the land in our plantations; to the janitor, who cleaned his office building; to the chauffer, who was his daily companion; and to his colleagues,
AFrticle eature who flew in from Malaysia, Thailand and India – people from all walks of life; all blessed because his path crossed with theirs. In that instant, I realized that, we were gathered together to celebrate his life and not to mourn his death. I learned that day - to appreciate defining moments like this; to relish fond memories of my grandfather through everyone, whose lives he touched so magically; and to savor living my life with passion because death comes like a thief in the middle of the night!

FAeature rticle The Entreprenurial Mind By Sam Zietz
There’s little doubt that we start to shape our most fundamental ideas about life from our earliest observations at home. Our temperament, character, philosophies, and beliefs usually reflect that of our parents, especially in our initial years of psychological development. I was well aware of the importance of being a good example to children when my wife, Sheila, and I decided to start our family more than a decade ago, but I had no idea, then, just how much my professional decisions over the years would impact my children’s aspirations today. Take, for example, the case of my 13-yearold daughter, Rachel, founder and CEO of the successful sports equipment training line, Gladiator Lacrosse, LLC, who has utilized the core beliefs I have passed on to her to create and maintain her now successful business.
58
www.kandeeg.com
I guess I should back up. I was working as a financial attorney in Manhattan for the prominent firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, LLP, when my wife and I found out that Rachel was on her way. Although my position at the firm had me working quite a bit with payment processing policy, we had a few concerns about the concept of my quitting my comfortable position as an NYC attorney in order to start a business in an industry in which I’d possessed zero formal training or education. But we did take the risk, and we’ve never looked back. My position at the firm served to prompt ideas and initiate the motivation behind the now multimillion dollar, leading processing and technology company, TouchSuite®, for which I am proud to hold the title of “Founder and CEO,” and for the success of which I’m, of course, very grateful.

Our patented point-of-sale solutions have won numerous awards for their highly advanced and intuitive system tools and retail management technology. My experience as an entrepreneur has been positive and encouraging, and not one that I take for granted. It has also encouraged me to share my business philosophy- my core valueswith aspiring entrepreneurs at area universities and business associations: Seek Constant Improvement, Act with
Feature Article Integrity, Don’t Make Excuses, Always Exceed Expectations, Create Market Disruption, Act Like an Owner, Always Have a Sense of Urgency, Find the Solution (every problem has one!), and of course…Have Fun! I’ve even had the privilege to give a talk on the topic at TedX Boca Raton in front of an audience of diverse individuals seeking inspiration on all facets of life. And most importantly to me, I’ve had the privilege to play the role of mentor for 7th- 12th grade students enrolled in the Boca Raton Young Entrepreneurs Academy, which is sponsored by the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. I can’t say I was surprised when my then 12-year-old daughter decided she wanted to participate in the local Young Entrepreneurs Academy program. She grew up a witness to the entrepreneurial path and its potential rewards. But it was her excitement, enthusiasm, and genuine interest in the program and its teachings that really intrigued me, as well as her ability to identify a need in the market, and seek to provide a solution. She was always bright and a good student, but she really seemed to absorb the education she was receiving through the program. It wasn’t long before she informed us that she, too, would be starting her own company. As a lacrosse player, Rachel would often practice on a variety of training equipment both at school and at home, and found that- no matter the brand reputation or price point- the equipment always seemed to wear down quickly, tearing at the seems and becoming completely useless after a short time and little use. This unfulfilled need was not lost on my pensive daughter, and it inspired the concept for an affordable, high quality, and durable lacrosse training equipment line. When she initially approached us about the idea, we were of course very supportive, but also naturally began to inquire after
her business plan. We wanted to ensure our daughter understood the many facets of starting a company, and how that would impact her daily life. Was she prepared for the multitasking and prioritizing that this would require? Could she maintain full, quality effort and attention towards school, athletics, family life, and other important commitments? With Rachel’s assurance and sincere desire, we allowed her to move forward with her business plan. Of course, we supported her, but we insisted, as did Rachel, that she make every decision required in the start-up process, from raw material and equipment design, to brand and creative development and marketing strategy. She chose the name for her company, she is involved in the sales process, and she maintains the website and handles all press inquiries and management. While her peers enjoyed a leisurely summer, Rachel managed inventory, balanced budgets, forecasted demand, and estimated profits for the company. Rachel just started high school, and has already learned to apply the entrepreneurial principles that she grew up observing in our home. Her no excuses, problem-solving, fast-moving approach; her need for constant improvement and desire to surpass expectations and crush competition; her professionalism, and her integrity are all principles that Rachel was able to witness first-hand as she watched my own business grow. She truly operates on the same core values that I have built my entire business around. And despite it all… Rachel is having fun! She has not lost sight of her goal and is inspired and excited with every sale. I would like to take all the credit for the impressive, powerhouse of a businesswoman Rachel has become,
and I don’t doubt that her coming of age in an entrepreneurial environment has influenced her perspective on professional goal setting. But to credit all her success as my own would be a gross inaccuracy. Her inspiration and confidence to start a company might have been due in part to the fact that she was raised in a home that encouraged such risks and provided examples of the benefits such risks may produce. But my daughter’s professional accomplishments are the result of her own brainchild, and the businesswoman she is today is a result of the lessons she’s learned along the course of her own entrepreneurial journey.

Gathering around the big screen for movie night happens quite often here, and popcorn usually doesn’t satisfy the rumbling stomachs coming from the couch. Often, nights in my cozy apartment are spent in the kitchen, making snacks for my family away from home. Becoming more cultured with food is important to me, so I like to encourage the broadening of my comrades’ taste buds during such cinematic times. This rounds request was buffalo dip, but that’s boring! However, I accepted the challenge. Once an idea is at play, inspiration can be found. For me, it’s strolling down the aisles of a grocery store. Soon after grabbing the items yelling at me to pick them from their lonely shelves, my inspiration is able to take form. to sear them. Brown both sides of the breast for about 3 minutes each, take them out of the pan and reserve close by. Now, take the onions and throw them into the same hot pan (season the onions with salt and pepper), turn the heat down to medium and sweat the onions for 5 minutes. Then, add the chipotle peppers and garlic and simmer for 5 minutes. Next, pour in the gin and orange juice. Place the chicken back in the pan and cover with a lid, simmer on low for 10 minutes. While the chicken is simmering, in a mixing bowl, add the cream cheese, orange zest, ranch, and 8 ounces of manchego. Mix together until mixture is well blended. Now that the chicken is finished, take two forks and shred into small strands. Stir the chicken and everything remaining in the pan into the cheese mixture. Spread the dip evenly into a casserole dish. Sprinkle the last of the manchego over the top and broil for 2-4 minutes. Finally, take your delicious dip out of the oven, garnish and enjoy!

or the mundane, your individual perception is the way to make it stand out. If for instance, you find yourself listening to a concert on the radio while driving, what stops you from getting up and dancing? Nothing stops you, really nothing other than you. You are free to pull the car over, get out and be in the moment; recognizing that you are here! Dancing, moving, listening to music and letting it lift you upwards. What an amazingly simple concept to grasp. The best part of all is that while doing so, someone else sees this [surprising activity] and finds that resisting a smile is practically impossible. Allowing yourself to absorb what is in your environment, and in turn permitting what you have consumed to transform into bliss that is seen and enjoyed by others, is a gift birthed from the inner most part of your being. People often seek something to inspire them, desiring the impetus that shall catapult them into feeling alive and finding their passion. They have the tenable idea to connect with something that excites them, frequently in order to leave something behind. For me, it is all in the moment, every moment, for now as well as later!

And over there, a mountain top; very clearly stating the need to reach beyond, having no limitations today, or tomorrow for that matter. This has to be shared; others need to experience the clouds to know that this effortless ritual can change the course of an entire day. Payne quickly realized the potential to use his talents to spread good messages and uplifting ideas. In 2014, Payne preformed in his first Contagious Optimism Live event, hosted by the Contagious Optimism brand that creates resources that vocalize and spread hope and positivity. Harold Payne is a singer-songwriter who has worked with, and written for an impressive list of artists. His talent has led him to be a multi-platinum and POSI award winning songwriter. Payne has written songs for artists including Lana Del Ray, The Temptations, Patti Labelle, Snoop Dogg and his long-time collaborator, Bobby Womack. Payne works in the musician’s world, performing his own music as well as covers of previously written songs in restaurants and bars. He found that

occasionally the lyrics would slip his mind, so he quickly realized his talent for improvisation was not only helpful, but also highly popular. When he had forgotten a line or two, he would replace the missing words with words of his own. He called this slip of the mind a “happy accident.” Audience members began asking him for custom improvisations during his shows, which he happily obliged. His ability to trust himself and the music created a connection with the audience. He was able to gain their trust in the time span
Payne has produced recap songs for many speakers, including Jana Stanfield at the National Speaker Conference. After one of Stanfield’s talks, Payne came up with the idea of summarizing all of the key points in a song produced while the speaker performed. While under a very short budget of time, Payne sat in the back row taking notes on the speech and at the end would perform a custom song to recall the important information and message of the speaker in an engaging, musical way.

The popularity of his recap song led him to begin performing these songs professionally. Payne also composes custom songs that are produced before an event and are written to commemorate the event while also creating a special moment for the event attendees. For those looking for a way to bring Payne’s personal creations beyond their event, Payne writes theme songs before the event that usually
include a sing-a-long component that highlight the themes and mission statements. The theme songs hold a special memory to those engaged in the event, and giving them copies of the theme song to take home keeps the memory and experience fresh. Payne realized that the need for personalized music and his ability to create personal and improvised
music made a great match. He had always been aware of his love for improvisation, as he included it in his performances. The connection that Payne is able to make with the subject, event and audience is undeniable. The joy that it brings to all the parties involved is irreplaceable.

The reason so many people are not alive is because they have no purpose. Without purpose, you have no passion. Without passion, you are merely going through the motions, living a quiet life of desperation. The word, purpose, is defined as “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.” Unfortunately, there are too many nihilistic people who believe they don’t have a purpose and that life has no meaning. Not believing that you have a purpose will not prevent you from discovering it. By not believing, it will only take you longer to discover your purpose. Going to a job that you hate every day is not a purpose. Coming home to a spouse you no longer care for gives you no purpose. Having children you ignore is of no purpose. So, how does you discover your purpose? If you have a cup filled with a beverage you don’t want, you have to empty the cup and then replace it with a beverage that you like. If you want to discover your true purpose in life, you must first empty your mind of all the false purposes you’ve been taught (including the idea that you may have no purpose at all). You are not your car. You are not your home. You are not your designer clothes. You are not your jewelry or your vacations. None of these are your purpose. You cannot take any of this with you. The Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt believed when they died, they could take all of their possessions with them into the after life. When a Pharaoh died, all of his possessions, along with his family and slaves, were buried in the tomb with him. Hundreds of years later, when the tombs were opened,

all of the Pharaoh’s possessions were still there. It didn’t go into the after life, as they believed. Allow yourself to be authentic. Purpose is what defines you and binds you to your design and destiny. Purpose is the Will of the Divine. Power comes from purpose. Desire is based on purpose. In your strongest desires, you feel a definite sense of purpose that is undeniable within you. The will to do something of purpose and the desire to do something with purpose are already operating at full blast inside you. It is the belief in purpose that unleashes their power. Belief realizes purpose. Belief unleashes your desire and will power according to purpose. Belief connects desire and will with the universal will power and infinite desire. Imagination is the gift of belief. The more you believe in something, the more power you give it. Belief has to be the unwavering certainty that you will achieve your intended outcome. You could have all of the skills and desire in the world but without that unwavering certainty that you’ll get what you want, you’re doomed.

Oftentimes in life one is searching for purpose; but for me, I am extraordinarily clear about my purpose. For me it is a “calling” in life, and that calling is to speak life, to uplift, to encourage, and to inspire. Added to that is the importance for me to operate from a place of authenticity and truth. From that place two of my greatest passions were born - the Soul Works Project™ and Veronica McMillian presents Inspirational/Motivational Speaking™. The Soul Works Project™ is designed as a platform for women to have intimate, raw, and authentic smallgroup conversations in the comfort of their own homes. These conversations are intended to help women awaken to who they are and discover the possibility of what more they can become through the process of changing the way they think, act, and behave. This transformative process is called “soul work”. It is a process that takes courage because it requires a woman to tell her truth about the areas of her life where she finds herself stuck, afraid, or in present pain. This is what true healing is about- getting to the soul of the matter. She shares during the process, and most of all she knows she is being heard and loved. Veronica McMillian presents Motivational/Inspirational Speaking is really about me telling my story in such a way that it connects with your story. I feel that once we understand that we are all connected we will then learn how to be patient and open to learning from each other. The greatest life lessons come from our struggles and pain, learning how to deal and endure, and then sharing the process with others. While I’m building my speaking business I am privileged to be an instructor working with college students. I find this to be the perfect environment for me to pass on my wisdom and knowledge through seminars and workshops. It is in this environment that I learned what college students want and need. This is also where I learned that being transparent and authentic is the greatest gift one can give to students and individuals beyond the college campus. When I am speaking I am in my element; I am being true to my calling. Something happens and I come alive in a way that only people who speak professionally can understand. My primary goal when I am expressing my feelings and voicing my declarations is to impart golden nuggets of wisdom that will help my students and others navigate the sometimes rough terrain of life. When a speaker can take individuals, help them stir up their gifts, talents and abilities then help those individuals move toward their dreams and aspirations for life, it’s a great recipe for success. In everything I do, whether speaking or conducting soul work groups, I do it from a place of love and when I do that I am unstoppable! Peace & Love

way I knew how. In my adolescence, this became even more predominant because of my strong desire to grow up and leave home due to the abuse that I was experiencing. This went from age 15 until I turned 25 and finally got the chance to leave home. In retrospect, this was a painful, however very necessary lesson that I had to learn about resilience and being strong. I’ve always been blessed by being able to make friends easily. For example, I have been friends with my best friend for over 20 years. I think we all get messages at an early age about what we are meant to do in life. However, most of my clients are stuck working in unsatisfying and even toxic jobs or they will stay in relationships that are unfulfilling because they fear change and being alone. I knew I had to leave my country. So after my last painful relationship, I joined my now ex-husband and moved to the US. I hit my rock bottom when I realized that my husband was an abusive alcoholic and a gambler. Yet, this is when I really started healing my wounds. After being in therapy for a year, I realized that this is what I want to do; to help others heal and share my story of overcoming challenges and hope.
It is the beginning of a new year and it’s a great time to think about what we are grateful for and what makes us “tick” and feel joy. All my life, I’ve known that my calling is to serve others. I grew up in a small village in Slovenia, in Eastern Europe, that used to be known as Yugoslavia. My childhood was far from perfect. My parents used to fight a lot around

the time I turned 10. Nature became my solace. I developed my artistic and creative gifts to escape from reality. My mom was an elementary school teacher and she instilled in me a love for books and writing. I won several writing competitions. Being a teacher’s daughter, that was all I wanted to do. I would play school and teach other kids. I felt compelled from my early age to help others in any

My painful experiences were a blessing in disguise. I learned how to love myself, how to heal myself, and I know now that this was meant to be. I share my story in my book, My Journey to Self-Discovery, A Memoir of My Slovenian Roots and Growth in America. I worked for many years in unfulfilling jobs because I felt that I needed the security of a paycheck. There is nothing wrong with that. However, at

least for me, I was wasting my time and talents on people and projects I didn’t care about. When I was let go from my last job in a medical billing company over 2 years ago, I was relieved because I was finally able to follow my dreams of being of service to others. I wanted to give back what I have learned in 20 plus years about healing, mental health, and human capacity to persevere even in the most of difficult of circumstances. My creative spirit was stifled working a 9-5 job in a cubicle (and before that I was making home visits as an under-paid, over-worked community counselor).
day. It takes courage and persistence. In my clinical practice, many of my clients are afraid to speak their truth out of fear that they will disappoint their loved ones. It takes courage to follow your dreams but I can promise you, the rewards are great.
I believe that we all have unique gifts to share. It doesn’t mean that it is always easy, but when you have passion for something, new doors open. The first step is to really get to know yourself. Who am I? What is important to me? What do I value? Then, decide what the first step is in making your dreams come true. Sometimes a counselor or a professional life coach can be of great help. It is also important to write down your yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals and track your progress. Remember, Rome was not built in a
Doreen Virtue says in her book, Assertiveness for Earth Angels, “the truth about any dream is that virtually everything is accessible and attainable for everyone… God wants you to be happy, healthy, abundantly supplied, intellectually stimulated, and emotionally and spiritually fulfilled… If you say yes to God’s divine assignments, you’ll be handsomely rewarded with wonderful challenges.” This is my message to you today: I believe that we all have our unique calling and gifts to share with others.
Many times, we believe that everyone else knows better and choose to live a mediocre life. For me, no matter how challenging life gets, I get such great rewards helping my clients heal from trauma, abuse, difficult relationships, self-doubt, lack of self-love, and finding their true purpose in life.
There is NOBODY like you. So go ahead, speak your Voice, and share your gifts with the world!

A rticle Feature Passion Gave Me Purpose By Danny Freedman
As I approached my 30th birthday, I began to realize that I had made some monumental mistakes. I realized, for the first time in my life, that being the youngest son, in a successful family business was not going to bring me happiness. In fact, it had begun to bring me misery, and emotional torture. My opinions, my thoughts, and my feelings appeared to be unrecognized, by my father, and by my brother I went from believing that I was the ‘lucky’ one in life, to facing the harsh reality that I had become the ‘unlucky’ one. I felt alone, under appreciated, and worthless. I had become an emotional wreck. It wasn’t until 1995, when I was 35 years old that I realized that I was in a massive hole, a hole that I had no idea how to get out of. Shortly after my 35th birthday, I made a drastic decision, when I decided that I needed to leave my family business, and face the world on my own. I devastated my family, but saved my own life, when I told my parents, and my older sibling, that I was leaving the business. I walked away from everything that I had ever known, and I relocated 2,500 miles away to start a new life. Unfortunately for me, I had been deeply scarred emotionally, and I struggled with mental and emotional issues for the next ten years. Nobody ever told me, or even suggested to me, the importance of developing my own dreams, or creating my own goals, and nobody ever told me the importance of finding passion in life. It took me almost a lifetime to figure out these critical lessons on my own. I grew up the youngest son of an entrepreneur, and after I completed 5 years of University, I began to work

for my father, in our family business. When I began working in the family business, I followed the dream that my parent’s had created for me. I was 23 years old when I began to work with my father, and my older brother. I had never considered a different route, or a different path for my life, as it all seemed so obvious to me, and so ‘right’, for me to work with my family.

My life was saved in June of 2006, when I found passion, and I found a reason to live. At the ripe young age of 46, I became a comedian. I loved performing, and making people laugh. Becoming a comedian, and finding this passion, definitely saved my life. It also taught me a valuable lesson that I needed to live my life for me, and not for others. (my family). I finally had begun to develop dreams, and set goals with my new passion of

I will continue to make the world laugh, and I will also continue to motivate the world, by sharing my story, my recovery, and reiterating the importance of finding passion in your life. I will also stress the importance of living life for yourself, and not for others, by developing your own dreams, and setting your own goals.
laughing, and making others laugh. Comedy became my life. My first comedy gig was on June 6, 2006, at a comedy club in Western Canada. I told jokes, that I had written, to a crowd of almost 150 people. To my surprise, and amazement, the crowd laughed at all of my jokes. Three minutes later, I walked off the stage to a large applause.. This was the first time that I had smiled in almost 15 years. On June 6, 2006 a comedian had been born, and a life had been saved. For the past 7 years, I have performed comedy at many of the major comedy venues in Canada. Trying to become a professional comedian has been a real grind, but a fun, and worthwhile one for me, as I have loved every minute of every single set that I performed. I have performed over 1,000 times now, I am excited to say that in the summer of 2014, I completed my first tour as a paid professional comedian. In 2014, I set more goals for myself, and developed more personal dreams. I realized that I had a great message to share with the world. I began to
dream of becoming a motivational speaker, to provide hope and inspiration to anyone that would listen to me. In late 2014, I was given the opportunity to be the Keynote Speaker in Calgary, Alberta at the Annual National Addiction’s Awareness Week. This speech, to this date, was the greatest and most fulfilling experience of my life, as I made the crowd laugh, and I made the crowd cry, but most importantly I inspired those in attendance. The title of my speech is ‘Passion Gave Me Purpose’, but it just as easily could be ‘Passion Saved My Life’. I know by the feedback that I have received after my speaking engagements, that passion is life, and that I have given much hope and inspiration to many people. We all need passion, dreams, and the ability to set goals in life. It is the only way to lead a happy and fulfilling life. My story, and my recovery literally saved me. In 2014, I was given the opportunity to appear, live in studio, in Denver, Colorado on ‘Good News Radio, to share my message with the world. Most recently, in January of 2015, I was once again, given a chance to appear on the radio ,this

the sense of satisfaction at having completed something that took effort. It may have been a goal, it may have been a challenge, it may have been a fleeting opportunity… but it required concerted action on your part. And, the completion of that effort is what you appreciate, what brings you pleasure… and makes you come alive!!! The elation that may come with a product or end result based on serendipity is often short lived as it is frequently but a moment in time. However, the exertion required to forge your way along a path or complete an arduous process requires a commitment of time, resources, and energy. It is this effort that one appreciates and remembers as being the basis of a meaningful moment of completion, a moment of satisfaction, a moment that provides the inspiration for additional effort and achievement.
It is a seemingly simple question: “What makes you come alive?” Presumably, the response is intended to move beyond the obvious features of illegality, immorality, fattening foods, and sex… which, individually or together, tend to narrow (or expand) the field of replies considerably! Regardless, there are moments that are truly memorable for any of several reasons, but they all share common traits – emotion and an impetus toward action. The question, then, becomes not just one of being focused on “coming alive” but what
72
www.kandeeg.com
causes that moment to occur and what you do with that moment when it does occur. As one ponders the initial question of the basis for this emotion and inclination toward action, a key factor comes to light – it is sometimes not just the end product or moment that creates a moment of inspiration, but often the path or process that leads to it. When you stop to think about what you appreciate, you begin to realize that the real, the deep, the essential reason for enjoyment is

Scenario I: Consider the completion of an academic degree or professional certification. Regardless of its level, the receipt of a diploma or accreditation is clearly a pleasant moment to be savored, but it is the recognition of what that achievement required that brings a full appreciation of the outcome, whether by you or others. And, that appreciation is what instills the sustained pride and sense of ownership that provides the initiative and sustaining spirit for further efforts. But, what of those moments that just occur with little or no planning or effort? Do they have the ability to make you come alive? Certainly, but not because they reflect any great degree of effort on your part. Rather, they may point to a new path or course of action that you had never
AFrticle eature That may be the real key to “What makes you come alive?” – the realization that life is good, but also, that you can make it better. It can provide the real direction and force to achieve further moments of accomplishment and happiness. And, as the expression goes, “May the force be with you!”
really considered. They may be ideas or moments of inspiration that capture your imagination and bring forth a new source of energy and purpose. Scenario II: You decide at the last moment to accept an invitation to a party where you really do not know anyone. As you are wandering through the room, your eyes meet those of another person… electricity shoots through both of you, and the beginning of a new life and set of adventures awaits you. It was not a planned endeavor, and it took very little effort, but the impact and overall effect certainly makes you come alive in so many ways! Regardless of how the moment arrives or is achieved, the question remains as to what it means to “come alive?” As suggested already, there is
undoubtedly a deep sense of appreciation, a pulse of emotion, that brings a heightened sense of awareness and, often, sheer enjoyment. But, here is the real question – What are you going to do with this moment? Are you going to simply savor it, or are you going to apply it to your next venture? The former is undoubtedly satisfying and pleasurable, but, without a follow-on action, it is a wasted opportunity. Make no mistake, moments that lead us to truly “come alive” tend to be rare and thus valuable for the satisfaction and insight they can bring us. But, just as importantly, they should be used for the exploration of new vistas, the springboard for new adventures, and understandings of our surroundings and ourselves.

given. We acknowledge the passion and desire that has built up within us that yearns to be expressed. We allow the expression and experience of our inspirations to see and feel the freedom of being released into the world while liberating us from the limiting beliefs we have held to this moment that prevented our full expression. Be responsible to your inspirations. So, why is it that we withhold such a magnificent experience from and of our Self? Why would we deny (self denial) the world the full experience of who we truly are? A primary reason is that we don’t trust the inspiration we have been given. We think it is just a passing fancy that feels good when we are first inspired, but by lunchtime, we convince ourselves that that which we were earlier inspired to create and experience is not worthwhile or is unachievable. The truth is, we would not be inspired to do something if it were not intended to be. An inspiration is not some cruel joke played on us by an unkind Universe that would have us become frustrated or suffer. An inspiration is a desire of the Soul that allows the Universe to be in full expression of its self through us. And yet, it is only we who can grant permission for this full expression. One of the greatest gifts we have to offer one another, and therefore the world, is to live in full expression of who we truly are. When we live in full expression, we not only give our Self permission to live boldly, confidently and joyfully through that which makes

A rticle Feature The World Needs You By Sean Manley
We all have different aspirations, desires, and passions. For some it’s art, for others maybe it’s writing, or gardening. Some people love cooking, others love performing, or doing some type of athletic activity. Unfortunately for some of us, we no longer know what makes us come alive anymore. We have forgotten that life is about joy and living our desires. Life is not about spending our days doing things that we hate, yet this is what has happened to so many of us. Our days are spent engaging in what we feel we have to do, not what we want to do. The days, weeks, months, and years go by and before you know it, life has passed us by. We sleepwalked through life, and we realize that we missed out on so much. How do we stop this from happening? First, we need to consider what we love to do. What excites you? What is your passion? For some people, this is easy. They already know. But for others, this can be more of a challenge. Life generally teaches us to conform, and before we know it, we are living a life we never intended to, and our passions and dreams are forgotten. If this is you, then your first step is to figure out what you love doing. What would you do all day long, even if you never got paid for it? Once you know what this is, then you have the fuel that will set your life on fire and make it come alive. Donald Trump said there are two keys to success. The first is that you have to love what you do. So many of us aren’t doing the things we love to do. We feel that we can’t make a living or get paid for doing what we love. What people fail to realize is that the people who are the most
76
www.kandeeg.com
financially successful are the ones who are doing what they love. Take Guy Laliberte. He was a street performer in Quebec who walked on stilts and was a fire breather. Now, he is a billionaire because he took his passion for the circus and performing and created Cirque du Soleil. Whatever your passion is, you can make a living doing it. In fact, you will never truly make a living until you are doing what makes you come alive. If you are not doing what makes you come alive, then you are slowly dying. We are either growing or dying, and when we do what makes us come alive, everyday is a day of growth and expansion. When we do what makes us come alive, everyday becomes magical. This concept goes beyond our own personal life. When there are so few of us who live this way, the collective thinking becomes one of conforming to the norm. We go through our lives doing what seems to be necessary because society tells us that it is. People stop chasing their dreams because they seem illogical in the eyes of society’s norms, and so the collective energy becomes one of conforming to what everyone else is doing. When you find and begin to do what makes you come alive, you become a beacon of light that has the power to affect everyone on the planet. You will touch everyone you meet. They may never even talk to you, but just by being in your presence, being in your energy, you have touched that person in a way that can create a positive change in their life. You become a catalyst that creates a shift in the collective consciousness from one of conformity and the 9 to 5 norm, to one of living their passions and dreams.
Winter/Spring 2015 - Kandee G Enterprises
It is imperative that you discover what makes you come alive and do as much of it as you can, not just for yourself, but for the entire planet, because as Dr. Howard Thurman said, “What the world needs is people who have come alive.” Find what makes you come alive. The world is counting on you.

A rticle Feature Celebrity Medical Center: Where Doctors are Alive and Get You Well! Dr Eldar Balgabatov- Interviewed By Juan Rutz
In a recent article at the Daily Beast titled “How Being a Doctor Became the Most Miserable Profession”, statistics were brought forth that put into perspective how being a doctor has become a miserable and humiliating experience. I never got that feeling when speaking to Dr. Eldar Baigabatov, one of the two physicians (along with his wife Dr. Aida Behani) who organized and brought to life the Celebrity Medical Center in Winter Garden, FL. (in the Orlando area). Our theme this issue comes from a Howard Thurman quote: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it, because what the world needs is more people who have come alive”. Dr. Eldar and Dr Behani with their incredible passion to heal, have helped many tap into their own aliveness, many who prior to meeting them had run out of hope. Dr. Eldar Baigabatov, or Dr. Eldar as some of his patients call him, has an extensive work history ranging from busy hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent cares, and even driving from
84
www.kandeeg.com
house to house evaluating patients at their homes. It seems that work history has given Dr. Eldar a layer of gratitude that shines through every time you speak to him. His answers are full, not rushed, and his logic is sound, not forced. Dr. Eldar firmly believes that in order to heal a patient the physician must not only know what ails the patient in the present but he must also know what kind of lifestyle the patient is living. This stout belief is the reason I know that Dr. Eldar truly cares for his patients. He is not merely trying to patch patients up (as is the norm in today’s difficult health care reality). He works diligently to discover how an ailment arrived in the first place thus giving patients invaluable insight on how to improve their lifestyle and avoid future health problems. Its sounds ground breaking but that’s only because many of us have not been privy to a doctor who has the sort of mindset that Dr. Eldar has. Not only does he want to heal you, he wants to guide you towards a healthier lifestyle.
“We take the best of conventional medicine and the best of holistic medicine and we use it judiciously.
Winter/Spring 2015 - Kandee G Enterprises
You know, you can’t use conventional medicine everywhere and you cannot use holistic medicine for everything. Now, you have to be able to use both, and in today’s world you have to understand both fields.” -
Dr. Eldar Baigabatov
Integrated medicine is a big part of the Celebrity Medical Center. Knowing that your physician is not solely relying on conventional medicine can be comforting for patients. Having options gives them hope. When Dr. Eldar explained the integrated approach to medicine, I began to understand: “If somebody comes in and says well I have an old wrinkle here, I want to get rid of this. I explain to them I can fix that. You know, any plastic surgeon or dermatologist is going to be able to fix that too you know. But what they don’t do is, they don’t look at why you had that to begin with. You know a lot of times you have nasal allergies or colds because you have growth hormone deficiency. You’re losing
AFrticle eature for health issues. Many times we don’t want to dig deep when it comes to our health. Maybe we don’t want to give up some of our unhealthy habits or we are jaded from past medical care experiences. Whatever the situation is, Dr. Eldar is ALIVE enough to give it to you straight using vital information that will wake you up and create a new path for you to become alive with the reality of your health. So please do not hesitate, reach out to the Celebrity Medical Center. They are ready to help you find that very precious information that will keep you alive, healthy and fit to enjoy your journey.
mass, your losing muscle, you losing bone and that can be vitamin D deficiency, that could be an acid deficiency and there is some other problems. Maybe you have absorption issues, or basically you are breaking down faster than you can regenerate. So we look at all those problems. I can give you a quick fix, but I would make sure that I would address some underlying issues and treat those as well.” Celebrity Medical Center practices integrated medicine, functional medicine, and anti-aging medicine. They look for the root source of the problem so they can treat you both ways. Ideally, they need to figure out what the source is, fix it or remove it. They remove the ongoing damage, restore the function, replace the nutrients, regenerate the tissues, and regenerate the system. Something they call the five R’s; remove, replace, restore, rebuild or regenerate and then repeat or reassess. “Well that is the problem with conventional medicine these days. It is so insurance driven that insurance will dictate what you are supposed to
do and what you are not supposed to do. They only pay X amount of money for the visit so you are only allowed around ten to fifteen to maximum half an hour a visit.” -
Dr. Eldar Baigabatov
You won’t have that problem when visiting the Celebrity Medical Center, where you will be treated like a celebrity by Dr. Eldar’s courteous and knowledgeable staff. You won’t walk in and sit in a cold lobby impatiently waiting with the slight hope that maybe this time the pain will come to an end. You will walk in with the assurance that you’re being taken care of by a staff that is all about finding the root of the problem and wants to give you real, important information about your health. The key here is information. What’s the point of taking the same medicine over and over to make the pain go away? Wouldn’t you like to know why that same pain keeps coming back? Finding solutions and ending health problems that seem to be on a loop is what makes Dr. Eldar come alive. That’s exactly what we need in this day and age where people are given microwave solutions

Feature Gypsy Magic I have always had a love, passion. and fascination for horses. I have been around them for most of my life. Several years ago, I discovered the magical breedthe Gypsy Vanner. The Gypsy Vanner Horse is a beautiful and rare breed of horse bred by the Gypsies in northern England and Ireland. The breed known today as Gypsy Vanner evolved from secretive and selective matings over a century. These magnificent animals have now found their way across the Atlantic Ocean and made their way into the hearts and onto the farms of the American Horseman. I have found the Gypsy Vanner to be very gentle and to bond quickly to those who care for them. Gypsy Vanners are easy to love. They are hardworking and very willing. I invite you to explore the world of the Gypsy Vanner through the amazing organization in the ad below.

represent the intersection of mediocrity and personal prosperity. My success and subsequently, my current work, were born out of my search for my own path to personal and professional empowerment. I came to understand there are certain timeless, universal principles which underlie those things that we create. Reality is bound by these just as surely as the principles of math, chemistry and physics. I came to understand that thoughts are things. You can reengineer your thoughts so that you can redesign your life, consciously and deliberately. Your thoughts as well as your feelings power your vision.
Twenty-two years ago, my life circumstances took a dramatic downturn. Everything I had worked so hard for – retirement account, savings account, investment accounts, and my home – was abruptly gone. I was alone, taking care of my four-monthold baby, with no family to turn to. I was horrified to get to the point where only one jar of peanut butter was left in my refrigerator. At that moment, I made the decision that I was not going to be a victim to life’s circumstances; I

would be a victor. From struggling on my own with a four-month-old child to care for, no job and no money, I have built two very successful businesses. I have been recognized as being among the top in both industries. I have been interviewed by major publications, television and radio for my success. Most places I travel by private jet, hence my story has been called “from peanut butter to private jets.” I am living proof that life’s circumstances

be more efficient. Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) is a field of practice based on the successes of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
These incredible soulful creatures have a unique way of helping us learn some of the key lessons to make life work. Horses have a natural mindful way of teaching us to stay singularly focused on the outcome. In a safe, simple way, they teach us the extraordinary power of Vision and so much more. So with this I have created Big Sexy Stables. One of my beautiful gypsy vanner horses, Saxon AKA Big Sexy, is the inspiration behind the name and the logo. I am creating a beautiful new facility in the Ocala area that will be ideal for coaching and corporate retreats utilizing EAP and EAL.
I continue to vision and create. I have a real passion for horses, natural horsemanship and equine-assisted work. Natural horsemanship teaches you how to work with and train your horse utilizing the philosophy of working with them based on the horse’s natural instincts and methods of communication. Equine assisted work uses the horses and their natural behaviors to teach people in a way that they cannot learn in any other form training. I am currently building a facility to bring my Vision Program, equine assisted coaching and learning along with natural horsemanship together. Equine assisted work honors and integrates natural horse and herd behavior as a model for human mental and emotional health and well-being.
It has been referred to as playing with magic. These incredible soulful creatures have a unique way of helping you learn some of the key lessons to make life work, whether for you personally or for your business. Horses are natural mindful teachers. No horse experience is necessary to participate in EAP or EAL. All work is done from the ground, not the back of the horse. The safe, simple tools that you will learn reveal a pathway to awakening within yourself another level of your potential. I have learned that everyone can benefit from equine-assisted work, not just therapy clients. EAL uses equine-assisted principles and exercises in a variety of areas from corporate retreats, to church groups, personal coaching, parenting and family dynamics and more!
