As per the tradition of Rotaract Club of Bharatpur, it gives me immense pleasure to present you the souvenir in this form called “YATRA the Journey” for 9th installation program. This year all rotaractors have worked very hard to make this rotaract year a grand success with district awards and at last I bring out the reflection of that, Yatra the Journey. I am very much happy to say you that this time the editorial committee has published a totally new and attractive look for souvenir. I would like to give all its credit to my committee members and all club members for their hard work to make it realize. Also, I am very much thankful to all the advertisers and well wishers, who helped us financially on behalf of Rotaract Club of Bharatpur. At last, I would like to extend my thanks to “Nippon Computers & Design” who helped in designing the Yatra in excellent form.

Message from RI President 2013-14 To the Rotarians of 3292
June, 2013
Dear fellow Rotarians, The Rotary club meeting you walk into today might, at first glance, seem very different from the weekly meetings of 50 years ago. And if you could pay a visit to every one of Rotary´s 34,000 clubs, you´d see men and women from all different backgrounds, speaking just about every one of the world´s languages, involved in service projects from the local to the global. You´d see clubs that are getting together to repair a neighborhood playground this weekend, while working in partnership with other clubs to install sanitary facilities in a school thousands of miles away. And you´d see a group of people who are absolutely committed to making the world a better place, in ways large and small. There´s a lot that´s different about Rotary today. But the foundation that Rotary is built on hasn´t changed. Rotary is based, as it´s always been, on our core values: serves, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership. There are the values that defines us as Rotarian: they´re the values we live by, and the values we strive to bring to the communities we serve. Every one of us in Rotary is here because we were invited, and because we made a choice to accept that invitation. Every day since then, we´ve been faced with another choice : whether to just be a member of a Rotary club, or to truly be a Rotarian. Being a Rotarian is a commitment that goes far beyond just showing up at meetings once a week. It means seeing the world, and our role in it, in a unique way. It means accepting our communities as our responsibility, and acting accordingly: taking the initiative, making the effort, and doing what´s right, not what´s easy. All of us came to Rotary to get involved, and to make difference. And in Rotary service, as in just about everything else in life, the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. If you only put in a token effort, you won´t accomplish very much, and you won´t find very much satisfaction in what you do accomplish. But when you make the decision to truly engage Rotary to bring Rotary service and Rotary values into every day of your life that is when you start to see the incredible impact that you can have. That´s when you find the inspiration, the excitement, and the power to truly change lives. And no one´s life will be changed more than your own. In the 2013-14 Rotary year, our theme, and my challenge to you, will be Engage Rotary, Change Lives. You´ve chosen to wear a Rotary pin. The rest is up to you.

Message from DRCC 2013-14
Dilendra Raj Shrestha
District Governor 2013-14
Date: July 1, 2013 Rtr. Prabin Aryal President 2013-14 and Members of Rotaract Club of Bharatpur Dear Rotaractors, At the outset I take this opportunity to congratulate the new office bearers of the club for assuming their respective offices to lead the club in the Rotary year 2013-14 and wish you all the best on this occasion of commencement of the new Rotary year. Rotary Leaders have expressed that “New Generations Service (now Youth Service) is an integral part of Rotary. But just as future generations depend on Rotary, Rotary depends on them. We must continue to grow, to create new Rotarians. After all, it is the next generation of Rotarians that will continue our good work. And while we have much to offer — our commitment, our wisdom, our experience — there is much we can learn from them as well. Many of the qualities we most need and value in Rotary are qualities associated with youth, like enthusiasm and a positive spirit. Young people have a natural optimism. They look for ways to accomplish things, not for excuses why they won’t work.” Dear friends, Rotary has great hope on you and your doings. I believe, all the trainings you have gone through, have prepared yourself to enter into a new era of Rotary service and enhance the Rotary image locally as well as globally.
To, Rtr. Prabin Aryal President 2013-14 Rotaract Club of Bharatpur Dear President, It's my pleasure to express few words on the occasion of Ninth Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of Bharatpur on July 5, 2013. I would like to congratulate and extend my warm greetings to you and your team .In your leadership your team will successfully achieve the goal and objectives of club. As you know Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. This makes them true "partners in service" and key members of the family of Rotary. All Rotaract efforts begin at the local, with members addressing their communities’ physical and social needs while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service. I am confident that in Rota year 2013/14 Your Club play a vital role in the Rotaract Movement in Nepal to motivate and educate new generation toward Rotaract.
We Rotary family of district 3292 always take pride in the image that Rotaractors of our district have been able to create. As the number of Rotaract clubs in our district is growing rapidly, it is very necessary to look for their sustainability. Thus, in the year 2013-14 our focus should also be in strengthening and consolidation of the clubs.
Wish you all the best for a successful Rotaract year 2013/14
I look forward to working together to further enhance the Rotary Image in the communities by engaging Rotary to change lives. Also, let us work together in establishing District 3292 as an exemplary Rotary district in the world.
Rtn. Anish Kumar Bajracharya District Rotaract Committee Chair R.Y. 2013-14 RID 3292, Nepal & Bhutan
Wish you all the very best and warm regards.

Message from DRR 2013-14 To, Rtr. Prabin Aryal President 2013-14 Rotaract Club of Bharatpur Dear Rotaractor Friends of RAC Bharatpur, I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of Rotaract District Committee, to congratulate you all for your successful rotaract journey till date and also would like to wish you good luck for the future. Also, its matter of appreciation that since your charter, you have well served in all service avenues and brought about change in the same. We Rotaractor are change agent of the society and our contribution to the same is immense. At an average, a Rotaractor spend at-least 7 hours a week involving in Rotaractivity. In a year with 52 weeks, one Rotaractor contribute 364 hours and if we multiply that with one club strength, which is at an average 15, then total hour one club devote for its member development and for society reaches to 5460 Hours. Again if we take it to district level where there are 85 clubs, the hour we are contributing reaches 464,100 Hours. If we covert it into a year, then it is 56.979 years of one generation, which we contribute to nation and society in one Rotary year. If we analyze the way we are contributing to our society being a Rotaractor, then its by developing our leadership, professional and personal skill and also serving the community. This is great contribution we are making to the society and nation being youth of society, who are partner in prosperity and solution and are competent human resource of a country. For any country to prosper competent and qualified human resource is required and Rotaract is a platform which is providing opportunity to become one. Now, the need of an hour for us is to acknowledge this strength of ours and be grateful toward this platform and reach to other youth and encourage them to be part of this platform to grow and be a competent human resource of the nation and also contribute to nation building by serving in various avenues of service. Rotaract is a ‘Leadership Institute’ which provide platform to be leader who practice high ethical standard, applying four way test in every decision and takes charge of not only of the nation but of world all together. I would like to congratulate your club for being platform for the youth to hone their capabilities and contribute to the nation. You truly stand as a ‘Leadership Institute’ and involving youth in service and bring them together for making nation prosperous and also by making them global ethical and competent leader. About Rotaract
Rtr. Santosh Basnet Editor
Why should you join Rotaract? What does it offer? Rotaract is a Rotary sponsor program. Rotaract is a worldwide organization, with around 8,200 clubs in 170 different countries. There are many things Rotaract has to offer. In a nutshell some of the main things you can expect to gain from becoming a Rotaractor include:Having heaps of fun while making new friendships that last a lifetime, both here and overseas. The satisfaction of knowing that you can make a difference, in the local community and overseas. Pushing yourself to the limit and realizing your potential in both personal and professional areas of life. “Be the change you want to see” and Rotaract is an international youth body that undertakes the process of creating the responsible citizens of the world to bring about the positive change. The organization is made of youth adults in the age category of 18 through 30 years. It’s a parallel world from those who believe they can make difference. The purpose of Rotaract is to empower young men women with an opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills that will assist them in their self development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote harmonious relation amongst all people worldwide through commonly shared emotions of friendship and service.
Rotaract stands for “Rotary in Action”, although the name originally comes from a combination of "Rotary" and "Interact" (International + Action), the high school level program created by Rotary International in 1962. Rotaract originally began as a Rotary international youth program in 1968 and has grown into a major Rotary-sponsored organization of over 9,030 clubs spread around the world and 207,690 members. It is a service, leadership and community service organization for young men and women between the ages 18–30. Rotaract focuses on the development of young adults as leaders in their communities and workplaces. Clubs around the world also take part in international service projects, in a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. Who can join Rotaract? Membership is open to all men and women aged between 18 and 30. There is no restriction on race, gender, vocation, religion, political beliefs, etc. Rotaract is a truly non-sectarian service organization that welcomes everyone. We are a professional organization that is accountable for every cent we raise, so we need to make sure our members are responsible citizens of good-standing in the community. The vast majority of our members are students and young professionals. We are unable to accept anyone to accept anyone for membership over 30 years of age;
41
we recommend you instead look up your local Rotary club. How do you start getting involved? Once you have made your mind to join Rotaract club of Bharatpur, first of all our club member will bring you as proposed member then you need to attend at least two of our club regular meeting and participate in projects before you can be considered for membership. That way, you can see what you think of the club and what we do, and we can get to know you and see how well you fit into the club. What can you expect at Rotaract meeting? Every Rotaract club runs their meetings a little differently. Hopefully you should find a warm, friendly group of people at a meeting that will last from half an hour to an hour and half or so. The meeting will largely comprise of an “information exchange” session where you can find out what is going on, and perhaps discussion on events that the club plans to organize. Does attending the meeting guarantee that you will become a member? No, it does not. After you have attend at least two regular meeting, the club Board determines if they think you will fit in with the rest of club or not. This is not so we can elitist or snobby- we just want to minimize conflicts. This doesn’t mean that if you are very shy or friendly compared to the rest of club that we won’t make you member…we like to have a good variety of people in the club! What we do not want in people who exhibit very antisocial behavior (being very domineering, very aggressive or very self centered).
42
What happens after you are included as member? That’s when all the fun begins! Attend the meetings, meet new friends, help out with the projects, go to the social events, develop your leadership skills…what you get out of Rotaract is only limited by what you put into it. If there is something in particular that you would like to achieve during your time in Rotaract, let us know! The activities we do depend on what our member’s interests are, and that includes you!

Do you need to attend every meeting and project? No, you do not. You need to maintain 60% attendance of meeting in order to remain a member of Rotaract club of Bharatpur. If you can’t make it to something, we ask that you please let us know so that we won’t hold up the start of the meeting waiting for your arrival. If you know you will not be able to attend meeting for a long period of time; such as if you become quite ill, very busy with yours works or studies or are going to be away for a while just let us know. And if you are out of locality and visit other Rotaract club’s meeting your attendance is counted if you get “Make up Card” from that club. None of the projects are compulsory, you don’t have to participate if you don’t want to or are busy… but they are the Core of what Rotaract is about, not the meetings. You will make most of your time Rotaract if you only attend the club meetings. If you decide that you no longer wish to be a member of the club, please let us know- don’t just stop turning up. You should formally resign in writing.

The truth about Rotary International
Rtr. Prasanna Nepal Club Service Director
Rotary is a Masonic Jewish organization of business and professional leaders that claims to provide humanitarian service to improve human relations, encouraging high ethical standards in all vocations and building goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary is an English word derived from "rotation". The organization was named as such because meetings were held in members' houses or offices by rotation. The presidency of the organization is still assumed by members by rotation as well. The clubs have chosen a distinctive emblem, which is a "gear wheel" in two colors, golden and blue, with 24 cogs and six golden spokes within the circle. Each two opposite sides constitute a diameter within the circle of the gear. They all constitute three diameters that cross in the center. When the starting point for each diameter is connected to the ends of the other two diameters, this constitutes the six-pointed star, surrounded by the two English words "Rotary" and "International". The golden and blue colors are of the Jews' sacred colors with which they decorate the roofs of their monasteries, temples and Masonic lodges. These two colors are now the colors of the flag of the member states of the European Common Market. Foundation and leading figures: • On 23 February 1905 C.E., the attorney Paul Harris founded the first Rotary club in Chicago, Illinois. This was three years after he had spread his idea which was
48
accepted by some people. Sylvester Schiele (coal merchant), Gustav A. Loehr (mines engineer), Hiram E. Shorey (tailor merchant) and Paul Harris (attorney) are considered the founders of the Rotary movement and the builders of its intellectual principles after a series of recurrent periodic meetings. Their first meeting was held in the same place where the Rotary Club, Chicago 177 today, was later founded. • Three years later, Shirley Berry joined the organization and rapidly expanded the movement. He remained as a secretary of the organization until he resigned in 1942 C.E. • In 1947 C.E., Paul Harris (the founder) died after the movement had spread in 80 countries, with 6800 clubs and 327,000 members. • In 1911 C.E., the movement moved to Dublin in Ireland, and then spread in Britain through the efforts of Mr. Morrow, who was paid a commission for each new member. In the Arab world, the history of Rotary was connected to three phenomena: • Western colonialism in terms of inception and the majority of its members. • The aristocratic classes and those who had influence and money. • Comprehensive and general activity in entire Arab world, directly or indirectly. • In the 1930s, Rotary clubs were founded in Algeria and Morocco under the supervision of French colonialism. There are now many
49
clubs and branches in different places and cities of the Arab world. Ideas and beliefs: • Not regarding religion or the difference in country of origin as a criterion in choosing a member, or in the mutual interaction among members. The Rotary claims that it is not concerned with religious or political matters. The Rotary is not allowed to express an opinion on any controversial public issue. • Rotary clubs teach their members the list of the equally recognized religions in alphabetical order: Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Judaism, Mohammedanism and Taoism. • Religion being disregarded, this protects the Jews and secures them easy penetration into all walks of life. This is clarified through the necessity that each club must have at least one or two Jewish members. • One should do good deeds without waiting for any material or moral reward. This is indeed against the religious perception which connects doing voluntary good work to the double reward from Allaah The Almighty. • There is a weekly meeting; and the member's attendance rate should not be less than 60 percent per year. • Membership is not available for all people. Rather, one should wait for the club's invitation for joining, according to the principle of selection. • Classification is based on the main profession. There are 77 professions. • Workers are deprived of the club's membership, and only those who occupy high positions are chosen. • They try to have a balanced age level among the members and nourish the
organization with new blood by attracting young members. • There must be a representative for each profession. It is possible, however, that this rule is violated in order to have a desirable member or exclude an undesirable one. The third paragraph of Article IV of the Constitution of the Rotary International is as follows: • There should be no more than one member of each profession with the exception of the categories of religions, media and the diplomatic corps, with taking into account the provisions of the bylaws for the additional active members. • The Board of Directors for each club must have one or two of the club's former heads, who are the heirs of the Rotarian secret which descended from Paul Harris. • Charles Marden, who was a member for three years in one of the Rotary clubs, conducted a study about the Rotary and he deduced some facts including: • Among each 421 members of the Rotary Clubs, there are 159 members who belong to Freemasonry, and this means that they are more loyal to Freemasonry than to the club. • In some cases, membership of the Rotary was limited to the Masons, as it was the case in Edinburgh, Britain, in 1921 C.E. • In Nance loges in France, in 1881 C.E., the following was reported, "If the Masons constitute an association along with others, they must not let it be led by others. The effective officials must be Masons and the association must act according to their principles." • Rotary Clubs become very popular and their activities are strengthened when the Masonic movement weakens or becomes
dormant. That is because the Masons transfer their activities to the clubs until the pressures end and then resume their former status. • The Rotary was founded in 1905 C.E. during the period when Freemasonry was active in America. • There are several clubs that intellectually and methodologically resemble the Rotary, which are: the Lions, Kiwanis, Exchange, Round Table, Pen and B'nai B'rith (Sons of the Covenant). These clubs work in the same way and for the same purpose with some slight modification to create many means to spread ideas and attract supporters and followers. There are visits exchanged among these clubs. In some cities there is a council for the clubs' heads in order to coordinate with each other. SOURCE: "The truth about Rotary International "

Rtr. Shristi Aryal Joint Secretary
I can feel your presence Even in the sketches of your shadows, In the cold dark rusty nights, it is your silver lining, An illusion that turns and disappears as the morning sun shines, An illusion that raises as silent nights come gently by Your shadows sways deep inside my heart… That shadow dissolves and turns to your smiling figure… Oh love, see what love does bring for fate Fortunes of jewels of beating hearts and smiles, Least to indulge in earthly joy.. enough to drown in heaven’s reign.. In nights like this of ocean rage, In darkness where I cant find your place, In lacking lights where I search your steps, In blindness where I feel your grace, Till time runs…turns and spins All the losses should must disappear In my embrace should you always appear!!

The Rules of Life
Rtr. Prabin Aryal
President 2013-14
From the beginning of my life the one motto that i've been learning was"Life has rules." It starts on the playground or sitting around the kitchen table as a kid. We’re told “The early bird gets the worm” . “Slow and steady wins the race.” “Play fair and people will play fair with you.” “Good things happen to good people.” “Keep your faith, and your dreams will come true.” From day one, these are the rules we’re taught to live by. We get them from our parents, our teachers, and our culture at large, and as we grow older, they form the foundation of our hopes, expectations, and beliefs. In theory, it’s a great system. All we have to do is treat people fairly, set positive goals, and work hard to achieve them. Since life is fair, everything works out in the end. Here’s the catch: these rules aren’t real. Chances are you’ve may discovered that the rules you thought were real are not. Things you were told turned out not to be true. Life’s not fair. Good things don’t always happen to good people. Your heart breaks, you feel betrayed by people you trusted and sometimes you even lose those you love. No matter how hard you work, how diligently you pray or how respectfully you treat other people, the truth remains: life will have its say. So,I want to share with you the real rules of life. They’re not the rules you’ve heard a hundred times before, and they’re not always what you’d
56
expect. Some of them are going to be a relief, a welcome “aha!” affirming what you have always known in your heart. Others may feel terribly uncomfortable and hit painfully close to home. Together, they all make up the subtle, simple truths of how life really is. That includes life’s many mysteries, blessings, uncertainties, and the vast unknowingness we’re asked to live in day by day. At times, these truths can seem overwhelming. They can leave us feeling so empty that we just don’t want to face them. Yet it is in our best interest to do exactly that. Understanding and boldly coming to terms with how life really is, sooner rather than later, positions us to live the rest of our lives fully awake. Making peace with what we’ve been avoiding or running away from, perhaps since childhood, allows us to ripen as human beings. We spend a lot of time and energy avoiding and denying the Real Rules of Life. We struggle within ourselves, trying desperately not to look these truths in the eyes. And yet, by acknowledging their existence, one by one, we can begin to make peace with life. Take the fact that we age, for example. Making peace with our own mortality, coming to terms with changes in our bodies as they slow and eventually break down, is one tough challenge. But doing this, as we will see, allows us to make the necessary adjustments to live more enjoyably and purposefully in the time we have. Apple founder and icon Steve Jobs, who died this past year, understood this. “Remembering that I will be dead soon,” he
57
said in a speech to Stanford graduates, “is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything—all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure— these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.” We c a n a l s o re co gn i ze t h at we w i l l probably suffer heartbreaking losses and disappointments during the course of our lives. That we live in dangerous, risky, unsafe and uncertain times, where so many things are out of our control. And, perhaps most important, that life’s many blessings and gifts will pass us by unless we begin to count them. So the question becomes: How do we deal with the reality of our lives? Courageously face our fears? And awaken? How do we not tie up all our energy in hiding, denying, repressing, pretending, avoiding, and hurrying through
Let's Turn
Towards Dawn Rtr. Prabin Aryal President 2013-14
58
our days? How do we free ourselves so that we may embrace life’s deep, rich joys and weather its sorrows? How do we become more humbly aware and accepting of how life really is—while living more boldly than ever? As if each day was a precious gift? The Real Rules presented here will set you on the path of far greater awareness, more vibrant joy, and a deeper effectiveness in coping with life’s ups and downs. It’s not about doing it perfectly. It’s about debunking the false rules and opening yourself up to the real ones. You’ll discover that significantly greater clarity, personal effectiveness, peace and contentment come when you understand life’s terms—and how to balance them with your own.

"We all travel different paths in this life. Some we choose. Some choose us."
Rotaract is a program of rotary. The age belongs to 18-30 are eligible to become a Rotaractor. Most of the youth representing this age are in out of track because of unemployment and misleading. Rotaract is a very good platform to develop the professional career, global connectivity, as well as to serve the community. So, this theme " let's Turn Towards Dawn" indicates to youth to join the Rotaract for connecting globally, being social and building us on positive way.

Drug Awareness
The more you know about how drugs work and the effect they can have on your body and mind, the more you will be able to protect yourself against them. Different Drugs cause Different feelings and physical responses. Caffeine, alcohol, dagga, heroin, ecstasy, mandrax and cocaine are all drugs but they have little else in common. Whereas caffeine and alcohol are legal drugs, drugs such as dagga, heroin, ecstasy, mandrax, and cocaine are illegal. Deal with reality – do not take drugs Further, you could experience a very pleasant response to one drug, yet another drug could have a very frightening response – it could even kill you. Drugs such as dagga and heroin are derived from plants. Others drugs such as ecstasy and mandrax are and man-made. Pure drugs are far more expensive than drugs mixed or “cut” with less expensive substances. Like any business the illicit drug industry is profit-driven. Therefore drug dealers use a variety of substances to cut drugs. Some of these substances may be more harmful than the drug itself. The drug you are Drugs can be swallowed (pills), smoked, inhaled or injected. You can never anticipate the effect that drugs will have on you. It is a mistake to think that experience increases your tolerance levels or that nothing will happen to you if you take a drug that you have used before. It is a well-known fact that seasoned drug addicts often die of overdoses.
62
Jonika Shrestha
offered tomorrow may look the same as the drug you were offered yesterday, but you can never be sure of what it contains. The only way to be sure that you don’t ingest it is to avoid taking drugs! Drug addiction seduces you into wanting more and different and stronger drugs, against your will and the natural tolerance of your body. No matter how good you may feel when using drugs, your body suffers. Drugs are dangerous. If you take drugs, you are at great risk of becoming addicted. UPPERS (cocaine, ecstasy, speed, crackcocaine) Uppers are designed to make you feel great. You make you feel alive, dynamic, and energized. Depending on your personal response to the drug, you could, however, also feel anxious, nervous and paranoid. You could even die. Uppers put a terrible strain on the heart. Longterm use destroys your nerves, takes away your appetite and causes sleeplessness. You will end up taking a downer as your body suffers withdrawal symptoms when the drug wears off. You will feel depressed and, sometimes, suicidal. DOWNERS (alcohol, dagga, heroin, mandrax) Downers make you feel relaxed or laid back.
63
Unfortunately, you cannot control just how relaxed you will be. Long-term use of downers causes lethargy and makes it harder for you to do the things you need to do as a functional member of society. Schoolchildren and students who use these drugs find it hard study or complete assignments, and relationships inevitably suffer. Too much of a powerful downer like heroin causes the systems of the body to shut down, eventually leading to death. HALLUCINOGENS (LSD, mescaline) These drugs cause powerful hallucinations or dreams in which your reality is changed. You cannot predict whether the dream will be enjoyable or be a hideous nightmare. A “bad trip” can haunt you for the rest of your life, with flashbacks occurring at any time. Different People respond differently to the same drugs Drugs cause different reactions in different people. Never take a drug based on someone else’s reported experience of using that drug. Never persuade someone else to take a drug based on your own experience of using it. The more drugs you take, the more you need The first time you take a drug, you will probably experience and exhilarating high. As your body gets used to the drug, you will need more and more of it to experience the same intense reaction. This increasing tolerance to a drug is actually a growing addiction. Addiction comes with a big price tag. The more drugs you want, the more money you need to “feed the habit”. Drugs are expensive and their effect on you makes it unlikely that you will be able to earn enough money to afford them. Some drug addicts turn to crime and other high-risk
64
behaviour. Many are arrested and go to prison. Others turn to prostitution and live tragic and tainted lives, almost inevitably die young. Some people take drugs for a while and then manage to escape before they become addicts or before irreparable harm is done. Do not rely on being one of those people – being strong is not enough to withstand the horrors of drug addiction. It is not weak people who become drug addicts, its drug addicts who become weak people. No addict takes that first drug believing that he or she will be addicted. All addicts start out believing that they could give up drugs any time they wanted to. Every addict is sad proof of how wrong that belief is. Life is Tough Enough - Drugs only make it Tougher When you feel that you cannot cope with life’s challenges, you may feel tempted to take a drug to make you feel vibrant and confident, or to change your sense of reality – even if only for a short while. Instant gratification, a sense of peace, a wonderful trip, or a feeling of power – all these things you are promised by those who offer you drugs. Such persons often describe the effects of drugs in glowing terms. But they do not tell you: •
That you cannot control your response to a drug;
•
what a drug contains;
•
the more you like a drug, the more you will want it and that you will eventually become addicted;
•
when the drug wears off, reality will still be there with all the problems from which you were trying to escape;
•
uppers make you need downers and a
combination of the two can kill you; and •
drugs let you lose control, which, in turn, makes you -
•
lose the ability to do certain things (for instance, to drive your car); and
•
more vulnerable to sexual or physical assault.
However tempting it may be, using drugs to take a break from reality will not make your problems disappear or make life better. If you feel that things are spiraling out of control and you are overwhelmed by problems, seek real help from someone who cares. People who try to sell you drugs are not interested in your well-being.
You may have already used drugs and you may be scared of becoming addicted. But remember: No matter how much trouble you think you will be in if you ask for help, you will be in worse trouble if you do not. There are many Rehabilitation centers working against Drug addiction such as Recovering Nepal, Narconon Nepal and under them different branches are running their programs in different regions such as Support and Care plus, Shraddha Nepal, etc are serving in Chitwan. SAYING NO TO DRUGS TAKES COURAGE AND STRENGTH. TAKING DRUGS TAKES YOUR LIFE.

Dear grandpa Sun, Hello! my dear granny. How are you? I see you all the time. I think you are quite well. You too can always see me except in the lunar eclipse. I am writing this letter to you because I am worried about my mom. Her health is not good. She is so much hurt by the irresponsible human activities. I feel very painful when I see her suffering. Once thick forests, clear blue rivers, oceans, seas, clean fresh air, flora and fauna used to be her ornaments which used to make her most beautiful planet in solar system. But now, human beings are being too much selfish that they are diminishing her beauty. This is due to commercial activities and by hard work aimed at worldly gains. Mom bears the marks of man's bad smell. Her beauty is spoiled by man's industrial activity and the sweet smell of nature has been drowned in the bad smells that comes out from vehicles. Mom is now bare, having lost all living beauty. Man is insensitive to this bareness. Because of the shoes, he

cannot feel whether mom is soft or hard. Mom loves and nourishes them as her own children. But these people instead of respecting and loving their mother they are destructing her everyday. If this continues, than not only mom but the inhabitants will also disappear one day. When human beings are so much intellectual animals than why don't they understand and try to control this destruction? They are the one who did this mistake and they should regret for it after all they are not bound like us. Sometimes I wish I could slap them for what they have done to my mom. But I can't, I am bounded and you too granny. I know you too must be feeling very sad and pain seeing your daughter in this state. Only if humans could understand our pain. I wish that they would understand us and take necessary steps from today. I didn't know that I was flying too high in emotions that my letter got too lengthy. So, I will stop it right now. Take care granny. Yours always loving Junior Moon [:)]

“With the modern diseases once TB now cancer the romantic idea that the disease expresses the character is invariably extended to assert” The most familiar word for us disease ,but however we ignore it .we ignore it by our habits our behavior .Habits like smoking ,drinking ,overweight ,our lifestyle ,the way we eat almost everything. The air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the cleaning agents we use are now our biggest health risks, a report says. While more green spaces and more time spent on cleaner environments can help greatly, changing lifestyles, new products, and new chemicals are increasing health risks in Nepal. Polluted air is reducing life expectancy by close to nine months and contributing to cancer, heart disease, bronchitis, and asthma. Recent studies suggest exposing pregnant mothers to polluted air has the same effect as passive smoking and that their children suffer ill effects in later life. As people live longer, the main causes of premature death and disability have become non-communicable, lifestyle-related conditions such as obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and cancer. Another element of everyday life which poses an increasing risk is noise, which can affect cognitive development, cardiovascular disease, and sleep. “Noisy areas are often those with high levels of air pollution, and each factor seems to augment the effect of the other,” said the report.
Bishal Adhikari
Women who smoke greatly increase their risk of heart disease (the leading killer among women) and stroke. The risk goes up with the number of cigarettes smoked and the length of time a woman has been smoking. Even though most of the women who die of heart disease are past menopause, smoking increases the risk more in younger women than in older women. Studies suggest that smoking cigarettes increases the risk of heart disease even more among younger women who are also taking birth control pills. Smoking damages the airways and small air sacs in the lungs. This can cause chronic coughing, wheezing, trouble breathing, and long-term (chronic) lung disease. More than 90% of deaths due to chronic bronchitis and emphysema – together these are known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) – are caused by smoking. The risk of COPD goes up with the number of cigarettes smoked each day and with the length of time a woman has been smoking. Female smokers aged 35 or older are almost 13 times more likely to die from emphysema or bronchitis than those who have never smoked. Smoking “low tar” or “light” cigarettes does not reduce these risks, or any of the other health risks of tobacco. The lungs grow more slowly in teenage girls who smoke. And adult women who smoke start losing lung function in early adulthood. “No disease that can be treated by diet should be treated with any other means.”
