D O A N
President Daisy Doan at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.
Hey everyone! With this new semester, I want to encourage everyone to continue your service and enthusiasm not only in Key Club, but in school and other involvements in order to finish the year off strong! This is especially important with DCON just around the corner, which involves fundraising, planning, and lots of contest participation. We need all your help and teamwork in order to reach our goals and to continue our tradition in non-traditional scrapbook. I hope to have many of you attend DCON this year in order to share this awesome experience with us! Keep up the great service and don't lose motivation!
Yours in service,

AGAPE MEAL

Article By: Vincent Berardi
As a host, I was supposed to make conversation with them and it was really fun for me to do that. I also got to pass the food around the table for everyone. Being a waiter or host is super fun but I someday look forward to trying the other jobs out as well. I'd like to help out in any way I possibly can. I've even gotten to see and feel how having a job would feel like as a host and a waiter. I think I would really enjoy these I volunteered doing Agape Meal in

THE FORT WORTH STOCK SHOW Some of the members struggled at first with figuring out the locations of various attractions, but I helped them. I found it invigorating to help other members. It made me feel like a leader, which was one of the factors that helped me decide to run for an officer position in our Key Club’s upcoming election. BLOOD
CARTER BLOOD CARE
Article By: Lexi Cepak
DRIVE
Twice a year, North Crowley Key Clubbers run Carter BloodCare’s Blood Drive. The week prior to this, Key Club officers signed up students in the cafeteria for the blood drive during their lunch time. We handed out permission forms for their parents to sign and passes for them to be excused from class while they gave their blood. On the day of the blood drive, we prepared various sign in sheets in order to keep track of who had attended and donated blood. This year, we had lots of donors, so we also had lots of volunteers. Daisy Doan, Elias Lara, Olivia Courtney, and Sara Al-Midany helped members sign in and out of the blood drive. David Correa and I had a different job. We were to keep track of how many people were on each bus. Each bus could have no more than four donors on it at one time. Occasionally, we’d have to check each Carter BloodCare vehicle to make sure our count was right. It was a difficult job because there were a ton of people that volunteered to give blood. They ended up having to wait in line!
events because they provide an opporunity for me to bond with other Key Clubbers. I got to work with Meghana and Sara, as well as Olivia. I volunteered for most of the school day, and it was a great experience. Since January is a busy time in high school, I got the chance to catch up with the officers I hadn’t seen in a while. I enjoyed getting to meet new people and talking with them while they were waiting to get their blood taken. Every year, Olivia Courtney, our Key Club’s Vice President, volunteers to give blood. However, every year she gets so nervous that her heart rate is too fast and she is unable to give blood. This year, she was determined to give blood, but she got too nervous yet again, so she made a personal appointment to give blood during her own time. I thought this was really sweet and admirable of her because I can relate, as I have a fear of getting my blood taken.
Although some were unable to give blood because their iron was low, over a hundred people successfully gave blood to Carter BloodCare. This blood will help save hundreds of lives around our area. Blood Drives are one of my favorite
