Postgraduate Diploma in Science in Data Analytics

Intensive one year (3 Semester) programme which includes modules in Object Oriented Software Engineering, Server Side Web Technologies, Web Design, Databases, Digital Multimedia, Web Application Development, Computer Architecture Operating Systems and Networks.

This one-year postgraduate diploma includes modules in Statistics for Data Analytics, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, Data Storage and Management, Advanced Data Mining, Data Visualisation, Analytical CRM and Programming for Data Analytics.

Graduates from this QQI Level 9 course will have in-depth knowledge and skills in e-Finance, Data Governance and Compliance, Data Analysis and Visualisation, Cybersecurity and IT Auditing, Crowd Markets, Blockchain Technologies, Big Data Analytics as well as Deep Financial Analysis. The course has attracted graduates of Finance, Computing and Business seeking to enter or progress in the FinTech domain. Technologies: R, Python, RapidMiner, SPSS, e-Contracts, Statistical Analysis, Financial Time Series, Machine Learning (incl.Deep Learning), Blockchain Technologies, Databases, Web APIs and ETL Frameworks and Tableau.

Tamas Kiraly I was unemployed when I started studying software development in NCI. I found that programming came very naturally to me and I performed very well in my studies. My placement with a beauty and wellness start-up company gave me applied development experience. I now work as a Graduate Software Developer in a growing software company based in Dublin with offices in North Carolina and London.

Kelly Wallace I took a course in Data Analytics at National College of Ireland and picked up lots of skills in the use of data tools. My three month work placement with an e-commerce fashion company gave me excellent experience in data mining and data insights in e-commerce. Coming from customer support and administration in the area of dentistry, I now work as a Technology Analyst with Citi and I love it.

Higher Diploma in Fintech – NEW Designed in consultation with industry to provide graduates with relevant skills for the Fintech sector. The content of the course includes: Business Data Analysis, Data Governance and Cybersecurity, Analysing Financial Data, e-Contracts and Payments, Introduction to Data Forensics and Auditing. Technologies: R, Python, RapidMiner, SPSS, e-Contracts, Statistical Analysis, Financial Time Series. Prepares students for graduate roles as business analysts, data analysts, financial analyst quantitative first and second tier support, back and mid office analytics, portfolio analysts, funds analysts and risk analysts.

This highly sought-after conversion course introduces students to application security development, forensic investigation, application/service vulnerability detection and incident detection. The programme combines both software development skills with Security Principles, Fundamentals of Secure Programming, Penetration Testing, and Digital Forensics. Graduates will be equipped for entry level information security roles such as security analyst, entry-level cybersecurity engineer, cybersecurity tester and computer forensics examiner.

Students are equipped with essential requirement elicitation, analysis, design, implementation and testing skills in the development of software systems that are deployed as Software as a Service (SaaS). They will also have a knowledge of the legal aspects of cloud computing.

Higher Diploma in Science in Computing Mobile Application Development A specialized course teaching students Advanced Mobile Application Development, Fundamentals of Mobile Communications, Multimedia and Mobile Application Development, and Server Side Development. Technologies: Java, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, RubyOnRails, Android Studio, APIs. Mobile Application Development provides knowledge and skills on wireless and mobile communication technologies such as Wi-Max, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. Anthony McGrath As a graduate of Data Analytics I went on to take a Masters in Data Analytics at NCI. I am delighted to now have the opportunity to work as a Data Scientist with Energy Communications.

Aoife McQuinn When I started studying Software Development with NCI I was working as an English Language School Registrar. I learned skills in end-to-end software development and particularly enjoyed front-end web development. I am now working as a User Assistance Developer Student Intern in SAP.
