As a small cultural & creative industry in Taiwan, Mogu emphasizes on a slower life tempo which values the relationships between nature elements and people. They blend handicraft arts into modern lives, hoping to give customers another kind of living attitude. But the values they embrace always hide behind marketing promotions. To creators, the process of creation would go on and I consider the process of creating something can explain the most about the handmade living attitude mentioned. Therefore I choose indigo-dying from Mogu's many products and define the Flagship store as a studio based on it. Not only is the flagship store an indigo-dying studio, but also combines with foods, reading and exhibitions. The studio becomes a living space trying to represent the Mogu style living ways. I choose a unit, 1.5 x 1.5 x 3 m, which is between architecture and furniture scale because I think that is a comfortable space for individuals to use and be inside. Bulinding up from a microcosmic aspect, and trying to blur our cognition of space and furniture. New ways of living pop up naturally based on this height-difference spaces.
1.5 x 1.5 x 3 m is chosen to be the design unit. With the building rules, the unit becomes a big-scale furniture. The height differences between units define them tables, chairs , balconies, spaces for display and routes.

Site sits on Yu-Guang Island, connecting with the land by one road. Houses, roads, casuarinas, dark and wet atmosphere under the trees, rocks, coastal plants, sands, sea and oyster frames on the sea, which all constitute the nature scenes of the island. Rich spaces experiences while getting onto the island transit peoples' minds from cities into nature. Salat is one of the five pillars in the Islamic religion. Muslim should face Mecca and pray for five times a day, during : dawn, noon, before sunset, sunset and night. The times for Salat change with the location of the sun. The Islamic religion becomes the basis of Muslims lives, which religion and daily lives merge together closely. The coastline acts as the nature axis which has a difference of 55 degrees with the direction of Mecca. A corridor leading to the sea becomes the connection between religion and subsidiary spaces. The volumn transits the two axis, symbolizing the blur boundaries between religion and daily lives. The giant and holly axis in religion spaces is disappeard, which focuses more on relationships between humans' spirits and pure spaces.

The coastline, which is the nature boundary, also acts as the coordinate for people on island. The natural and religious axis become two important directions of the mosque.
Redefine the Connection Between 2 Axis
The religion spaces are embedded under the ground, which hope to minimize the volumns and make less impacts on the horizontal coastline. Lights and waters are two nature elements used to create the atmosphere while going down to the main prayer hall.
The lights from roof gaps reflect on the water and walls, which is a symbol of entering the religion space and also relax peoples’ minds.
Men and women get inside the Wudhu spaces ( use water to clean one’s body ), the lights from outside guide the direction of Mecca.
Going through a darker room to put peoples’ minds at ease before Salat.
Before entering the prayer hall, the water imbedded in the center acts as the last spiritual puriďŹ cation.
The main prayer hall is made up by concrete, and the sky lights falling on the minaret leads the Muslim to pray.
After the Salat, people follow the slope and back to the entrance lobby.

Thesis Design Studio 2014.10-2015.05
The transition status (green lands and construction sites) of construction period has been extended because of the involvement of the temporary parks. I come up with the idea of establishing urban scale spaces for storage as a solution to explore the possibilities of the third places in Taipei city. It is a process caused by suppose engineering objects getting in and out of construction period. After the observation, I start thinking about an open system in the basis of changeable objects. Five temporary objects had been found during the period: vegetation, fencing, scaffolding, formwork and container. I redefine the construction period, and hope to open the third places to the public during the transition periods which include the temporary parks and the 5.5 m sidewalk. I consider that with the occuring of the movable system, it brings in the publicity and openness of the third place during the transition periods, also establishes a relatively permanent third place under the Viaduct.
Temporary parks derived from the policy during the Flower Expo, encouraging the private land owners to tear down old buildings and turn them into green lands. This policy gave the city a green landscape during the Expo. After the Expo, most of the temporary parks disappeared, and got involved into the construction period again due to the building bulk ratios which the owners got in exchange. The short-term publicity within temporary parks had been demolished.

I choose the linear Xinsheng Viaduct as the site, and an elevated floor system defines the spaces under the Viaduct. It works as the basis of objects mentioned to construct together. The various possibilities of the objects to combine rebuild the te m p o ra r y p a r ks . X i n s h e n g Viaduct becomes a storage, also a exhibition of the parks and 5.5 m streets. The roads next to the viaduct act as the circulation for moving them.

Bole County Planning Program : Bookstore + Essence Oil Shop
Scale : Urban Planning + Architecture
Location : Bole Village , Yunnan
Keywords : Dual Meanings, Nature Surroundings, Industrial Materials
Architects : 97 Studio Workshop 2015.07-2015.09

The project based on the economy crops, roses , which were the raw material of essence oil industry in Bole County, Yunnan, hoping to combine with tourism later. Xiaoluolang Village was the main region of planning. We considered the dual meanings of each building added to the village. Main idea was to strengthen and protect the living rights of locals, including the original life style, and hoped to emphasize on the relationships between human being and nature. How to balance between environments, residences and tourists became the core attitude of the project. I designed the Essence Oil Shop, while some parts of the spaces became the magazine reading room to the locals. I embedded the volume into the limestone topography and the roof acted as the route for mountain climbing. The interface between locals and tourists was the solid and void spaces which took turns showing up continually. The store consisted of two volume embedding together, the crystal one was the end view of the road, also the streetlight for the village at night.

Tokyo Tatami House Program : Exhibition [ Cinemetrics Workshop ] Location : Not specified
Scale : 3x6m
Professor : Cheng Lun Hsueh
Keywords : Frame, Still Camera, Body Gesture
Design Studio 2011.10-2011.10

The workshop identified and emphasized on the body motion in the movie, Early Spring, which directed by Yasujiro Ozu. He shot the film with the still camera to measure body gestures and the spaces he generated. Our clip included 15 cuts, which were shot in a space set up by 3 tatami mats. The space was very narrow. In order to shoot each scene assuming that the director must have different heights of cameras and distances to the subjects. By drawing, performing and shooting, we hoped to express some important relaitonships after the observation. Which included a 4D interaction of audiences and performances where the audiences could feel the limitation of the scenes and how the director shot the film. We also emphasized on the 15 cuts and the relationships between installation and body, expressed an out-of-scene phenomenon, and showed Ozu's camera angle which assumed to be very low to the context study. The results came up with a single moving frame, and the audiences would lead by the moving frame and keep changing their position.
Bamboo Construction Program : Kiosk [ Workshop ]
Location : Agriculture Expo Park , Yunlin
Scale : Pavilion
Architects : D.Z Architects
Keywords : Construction, Local Context
Design Studio 2013.08-2013.08
06.
It was a construction workshop held by D.Z Architects for the Agriculture Expo in Yunlin. D.Z Architects designed one of the avenue, which used bamboo as the main material. They chose bamboo because it was a local material in Taiwan, which was also the fastest growing nature material. Our mission was to build-up the kisok besides the avenue by ourselves in two weeks. We worked on the construction site every day and learned more imformations about bamboo and local surroundings at night. Because bamboo is a nature material, there isn't a standard of size or diameter. Therefore, the use of hardware becomes very important which could standardize the material and open up more possibilities of bamboo structure. We built up the bamboo structure, the wall made by thatch and the floor. The concept of structure derived from corbel bracket, which was a unique structural element of interlocking structure brackets in different layers. After the exhibition, the park would remain as a place for ecosystems.
