Making A Gift

Saffie joined us from Hazlewood Community Primary School in Wideopen and has been at NHSG for a full academic year. She has already made her mark, winning the School’s Embodiment of School Spirit as well as the Vane International Women’s Day Prize for her poem How Did She.

I was over the moon when I found out that I had won a bursary award to join NHSG. It is a very friendly community, and I don’t feel any different as a bursary holder, just lucky that I am here.

The School has changed my perspective, I feel prepared to take on any challenges and when I leave NHSG I would like to study Medicine.

Advice I would have liked to give myself: Be more organised!

Advice I would like to give to other girls considering applying for a bursary: Don’t worry, you will enjoy it - everyone here is kind and generous.

What would you like to say to anyone that has given or is considering giving to the NHSG bursary fund?

I would like to thank you so much for supporting me. It really does make a difference and I really do appreciate it – it really is worth it. It might not feel like much, but you are widening a young girl’s life and giving her face a bright smile.
