celebrates the rich legacy of NCNW and its enduring mission to lead, empower and advocate for Black women, their families and communities.
We are honored to support NCNW’s 60th National Convention, “A Noble Past Shaping a Powerful Future,” that will salute yesterday’s achievements and prepare for tomorrow’s promise.

hat a wonderful organization NCNW is to have been blessed by the incredible vision and shaping of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. And here we are, the recipients of her indelible legacy. What a great feeling it is to be so endowed!
Convention fortified by a glorious history that is propelling us to
Our steps ahead also are building upon those solid planks put in place by Dr. Dorothy Boulding Ferebee, Ms. Vivian Carter Mason, Dr. Dorothy Irene Height, Dr. Barbara Shaw, Ms. Ingrid Saunders Jones, and Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole.
With a strong sense of advocacy, we will continue the pursuit of unalienable rights as we address not only the organizational growth, but as we broaden our knowledge through the myriad of speakers, workshops, plenaries, dialogues, and discussions.
We hope all will leave with clarity as I draw upon the philosopher, Epictetus, who said we are disturbed not by things, but by the views we take of them.
Enjoy the fellowship of those who have come from across the whole country. Together, share the wisdom of the Section leaders, the Life and Legacy Life members, the Affiliates, the members in all categories, staff, and our guests. Leave with renewed commitment and walk with pride and integrity. Grab a hold of the lamp lighting the way and let the noble past undergird the beckoning journey to a powerful future.
Thanks for your support, confidence, and empowering spirit!

Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing
Lift ev’ry voice and sing Till earth and heaven ring, Ring with the harmonies of Liberty; Let our rejoicing rise, High as the list’ning skies, Let it resound loud as the rolling sea. Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us, Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us, Facing the rising sun of our new day begun, Let us march on till victory is won.
Stony the road we trod, Bitter the chastening rod, Felt in the days when hope unborn had died; Yet with a steady beat, Have not our weary feet
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered, We have come treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered, Out from the gloomy past, till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.
God of our weary years, God of our silent tears, Thou who hast brought us thus far on the way; Thou who has by Thy might Led us into the light, Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee, Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee, Shadowed beneath Thy hand, may we forever stand, True to our God, true to our native land.

The power of sisterhood takes center stage.
Toyota Motor North America is a proud sponsor of the National Council of Negro Women. We celebrate NCNW for 87 years of dedicated work on its mission to lead, advocate for, and empower women of African descent, their families, and their communities. Significant changes to many lives have occurred because NCNW was bold enough to help girls and women achieve goals and break barriers.
2022 CAMRY HYBRID XLE
Secretary Marcia L. Fudge
Secretary Marcia L. Fudge is the 18th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Throughout her career, Secretary Fudge has worked to help low-income families, seniors, and communities across the country. Secretary Fudge served as U.S. Representative for the 11th Congressional District of Ohio from 2008 to March 9, 2021. She is past Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. In 1999, Secretary Fudge was elected the first female and first African American mayor of Warrensville Heights, Ohio, a position she held for two terms. As Mayor, she addressed the growing foreclosure crisis by creating a local partnership that helped residents maintain the financial security needed to buy or keep a home. As a former mayor, Secretary Fudge has seen firsthand the need for economic development and affordable
housing. She prioritized improving the city’s tax base and expanded opportunities for affordable housing. Secretary Fudge believes our housing issues do not fit into a one-size-fits-all approach. We need policies and programs that can adapt to meet a community’s unique housing challenges. She is committed to making the dream of homeownership - and the security and wealth creation that comes with it - a reality for more Americans. Under Secretary Fudge’s leadership, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is working to eradicate the growing homelessness issue and put an end to discriminatory practices in the housing market.

In Memoriam
God called and two board members answered;
An angel heard Mrs. E. Tonya Greenwood and took her hand;
The angel heard the voice of Mrs. Peola McCaskill and reached out to her; Each gave the world dignity, wisdom, love, and a model for excellence; Each bloomed like the beauty of the rose;
Each gave of her light so we could see; Each gave of her voice so we could hear;
Each left a path that propels us to a better world.
God bless our good and faithful servants.
We will forever remember as you rest in peace, our beloved sisters.
