A NIGHT ON THE TOWN WITH JAMIE HALLA

Raleigh is quite possibly the best city south of the Mason-Dixon and east of the Mississippi. We sure as hell are a lot better than Richmond, even though they do beat us in PBR consumption. There are many great things about Raleigh including, but not limited to, Hopscotch Music Festival (I hear rumors that Radiohead are headlining in 2016), 88.1 WKNC FM (the best college radio station in the Triangle, like does WXYC even play music? Is WXDU even run by students?), and let’s not forget the city’s love for breweries, only rivaled by the West Coast replica of Raleigh: Portland, Oregon. Since I obviously love Raleigh so much, many people always ask me: How would you spend a night out on the greatest town in the world? Well, you sure are in luck as I’m about to tell ya! And your night even comes with a complimentary musical accompaniment piece.

Soulja Boy - “First Day of School”

First things first, you gotta be dressed to impress for a night out with me. Throw on that hot-ass pair of Raleigh Denim you just purchased to match your denim jacket and get ready to be a fashion killer. While this song might be about dressing up for the first day of school, the theme still applies to your first night out on the town. Also, it’s just a damn good song.

Drake - “Worst Behavior”

A night out on the town with me, gotta be on your worst behavior.

Bon Iver - “Holocene”

Raleigh loves its food. Let the gentle acoustics and beautiful swooning of ex-Raleigh resident Justin Vernon accompany your meal at Raleigh 4.5 star Yelp reviewed restaurant, Bida Manda.

Darius Rucker or Old Crow Medicine

Show - “Wagon Wheel”

It’s gotta be played at some point. It says Raleigh in it for God’s sake! Let it be your sing-along song on the Raleigh Trolley Pub as we drive to our next stop: Cook Out.

Kelis - “Milkshake”

It’s time for that famous NC staple, the Cook-Out milkshake. May I recommend the Peanut Butter Fudge Banana?

Future - “Fuck Up Some Commas”

Yes, we are about to break some laws.

Explosions in the Sky - “The Earth is Not A Cold Place”

There is nothing more joyous than visiting one’s old high school to climb its roof and set some fireworks off. Let the soaring crescendos of this album soundtrack the literal explosions in the sky.

Clay Aiken - “Perfect Day”

Let this song, by a Raleigh legend, lull you to sleep under the stars at Falls River Lake as we enjoy the best of both worlds that Raleigh offers, the city and the outdoors!

Arcade Fire - “Wake Up”

Woahh oohh uhh ohh ahhh ohh after a good night sleep all cuddled up in the tent, it’s time to wake up to and get prepared for Raleigh’s favorite meal, brunch. The options are limitless as everywhere in Raleigh has brunch.

Neutral Milk Hotel - “King of Carrot Flowers Pts. 2 & 3”

Part 1 is boring, plus you’re gonna need Jesus after a night on the town with Jamie Halla- I Love You Jesus Christ.
