Welcome back to the second half of the 2016 Season. We hope you had a safe and enjoyable break and are looking forward to the last part of the year. Fingers crossed we might see some better weather! Congratulations to all our five Kanga Cup teams, U9 Wolves, Crocodiles and Wallabilbies, U11 and U14’s who did our Club and themselves extremely proud. In very trying weather and ground conditions they all played exceptionally well and most importantly played with great sportsmanship. And also a big thank you to those volunteers from the Belwest Community that helped the Kanga Cup out at short notice by dressing 19 fields over the 4 days, each day before 8am, across Charnwood, Latham and Scullin fields to allow 98 games to take place – great work and a huge thank you. Perfect Coach or Manager End of Season gift?
Thanks to our Major Sponsor Photographs and Match Reports Please forward any news, match reports, end of season reviews or photos to webmaster@belwestsoccer.com and we’ll publish them in the end of year newsletter which will be produced after the End of Season Presentation events. www.belwestsoccer.com

Welcome on-board to our new Vice President ‘ And AR doesn’t stand for assistant referee, as much as he thinks he is!’ Welcome on-board to our new Vice President (left)- Andrew! Andrew, or Rosco, as he is affectionately known, has been with Belwest as part of the Men’s programs, transitioned into the Master’s program and has coached his son since peewees! It’s great to have him on board. Welcome! Merchandise Coordinator wanted And speaking of the shop – the current merchandise co-ordinator, after around 15 years, is looking to hand over the role. If you think this is something that you might like to help out with, even between a few of you, please drop in and see Toni one Saturday morning to have a chat – full hand over included! New Committee members As I am sure you have seen, we have a new canteen co-ordinator on-board, Taryn. Welcome! If you haven’t noticed a few extra goodies that Taryn has brought in, please make sure you drop by to have a look – and also make sure you say a big thanks when you see her!

This year Zambrero are providing vouchers throughout the season to be handed out after matches. If your Coach/Manager has not picked these up yet, please see a Committee member at Latham on Saturday.

From the Grill: Shaun (Comber) & ‘The Chef’ Hey All. First of all we would like to thank the band of merry men from our club that came along and installed the roof over our humble little BBQ area earlier this year, it has made such a great space. The gents involved were Aaron Golledge, Sean McCaffrey, Cory Anderson, Rowan Martin & Matt Nock, you guys have done a great job, cannot thank you enough.
BBQ – ‘Egg and Bacon roll of happiness just granted him good luck’
What a blast, we are half way through and there are more kids than you can poke a stick at....!!! A steady stream of volunteers move through the BBQ area, with some already on their second go....much thanks to all. Just so you know when you’re helping out when you’re on the BBQ - last year the BBQ turned just over $20K....a record!! This gave the club approx $10K back to help with expenses...another record!!! (And there’s more pto.)

Canteen set for a record in 2017? We are looking to eclipse both those figures this season, keep up the great effort, keep rollin’ up...every bit helps.
‘BBQ extraordinaire Shaun’

Lastly, those Guys & Gals that just jump in when we need help....you are the True Blue Foxes.....your efforts are very much appreciated. Luvyasall Shaun & Thomas

NOTE- Minimum of 4 parents required per shift 2 for the BBQ and 2 for the canteen When two teams are on the roster together, Belwest does require both teams to turn up as we usually have a big day at Latham Teams are asked to do one 3 hour session in a season. A roster should be no more than an hour per person, Team managers and Parents are asked to work this out so that the coach and manager have the time to spend with the team when they are playing. We do apologise as some teams may have to do roster twice, we do try to balance the time out as best as possible. If teams do not attend the BBQ/canteen, we may require to close for that session We are always looking for help early morning from 07.30 - 9.00 to help set up the BBQ & Canteen, cut & butter buns...coffee is always available
