My Favorite Dog

As a little kid, I had always feared dogs. Actually, I guess you could say I was scared to death of them. I never knew why, but the moment I spotted one of those little, fluffy demons, I was running for my life. Eight years old and caked with dirt from a Little League game I just finished, I headed over to the car. Sloppy mud floating around in my shoe, I felt like I was walking around in a marsh. My dad was driving the silver Toyota Matrix and playing one of his Rolling Stones albums, full blast, almost stinging my ears. All the windows were open, letting the cool April air smack my face as I looked out the window. It was refreshing, and my Saturday could not have gotten any better. My dad turned into our long driveway and I turned to him in with confusion and asked, "Where's mom?" He stopped and thought for and second, only to reply with, "I don't know. Probably getting groceries." We walked down our old, cracked driveway only to hear someone in the backyard. I listened hard for a second, but the noise wasn't familiar to me. We started heading towards the gate, listening to the barking and laughing, only to find this black blur of a thing running around and playing with a tennis ball. My sister was overjoyed, giggling as though she had just inhaled a tank of laughing gas, and was running around it. My knees began to wobble. The mud in my shoes didn't seem to bother me anymore. All that bothered me was this thing playing in my backyard. I slowly twisted Get more content

My Favorite Dog Essay

Owning a dog is a lot of work You have to take them for walks, runs, feed them, cuddle with them, and play with them. Getting a puppy is even more work because you have to train them and get them on schedule. Bulldogs have great personalities. They are cuddly, playful, but are not the best for children unless they grew up around kids. Since I was around 4–years–old, I have been around dogs. The first one we had was a English bulldog. He had short, stubby little legs. But we were young, and he would always be knocking us down on our butts. Then we got an american bulldog from my Dad's friend who was moving. She was my favorite dog even though she was lazy most of the time. She would jump onto my bunk bed with me and was always gentle with me. She would always end up being my pillow, and I loved that. So I want to figure out which dog would be better for my lifestyle now. Based on my research and how busy I can get at times, I think it would be better to have a Olde English bulldog puppy because they are more relaxed. It would also be less expensive for me. The price of a bulldog varies because you have to buy breeding rights if you want to breed your dog. I choose to research bulldogs because growing up I had 3 of them, and I would love to have lots of them. The breeds all had very different personalities, and I loved them all, but an Olde English bulldog can cost up to $2,500. For an American bulldog, "typically you can expect the cost to average around $1500–$4000"

My bunny is soft as a pillow. Her name is Luna, and she's my favorite bunny in the world. She's also so cuddly and cute. Most importantly, she's one of my top favorite things i like about myself. However, there are a lot of things i would like to share about myself. I would like to share the top three things I like about myself the most. Which are my favorite pets, favorite things I like to do outdoors/ indoors, and I love to help my friends, family and last animals. My favorite pets allow me to pick them up and cuddle them, unlike other pets I use to have. My pet Luna is so soft and cuddly. She is black with a little brown on her. She has brown eyes and loves to be petted; especially, behind her ears. I got her from my friend Cate Linder. When I pick her up and there is adog around, she starts kicking and scratching. That is telling me to put her back in her cage. Also, when I leave the door open she never gets out; unless, I put her harness on and we go on a walk. Luna is the best out of all the other rabbits I use to have because the other ones never let me pet them. When the cage door is open they always jump out and run away. When I try to pick them up, they always try to bite me and scratch me. Also, I have a pet dog named Zurie. She is white, black, and has a little black on her. She loves her belly rubs and will do whatever it takes just to get one. She does tricks for us and will bring a ball so we can play together. She always chases bikes and motorcycles. She Get

People assign importance to objects to feel comfort and safety. My object is my dog Jeorgie (yes, it is spelled like that). He is small, about five pounds, and very light brown color, almost yellow. Jeorgie has big eyes, which makes him fall into the "puppy eyes" stereotype. He is very little with short, skinny legs. Jeorgie is a very cowardly dog, not from trauma, but he is a chihuahua so it is understandable. Though really fearful, her is a brave and courageous. To me, the most distinctive trait Jeorgie has is a white dot at the center of his forehead, between his eyes, almost like a bindi. Having a pet has taught me some of the most important life lessons – love, companionship, and accepting death when the time comes –and the pets presence in a child's life, to me, helps them understand life and work it out....show more content...

I was around fourteen/fifteen and my nieces ranging from 10 – 13. The weather that day was sunny, maybe around fall or beginning of winter with the icy breeze flowing around. We were outside and I could see typical neighborhood things– like houses, bushes, and trees. The one strange thing about that day was, there was little movement. When I say this, I mean, there was nothing that really made noise. There were no cars, no sirens in the distance, no people talking, just the sounds of the leaves from the trees. We were allwalking and we seen a dog walking across the street from us. Me, not really interested in dogs at the time, payed little attention to it, but then we spotted the very tiny puppy following. The older dog seemed to pay little attention to the puppy following it. The puppy was so small, it could barely jump from the street onto the sidewalk and, after petting it and letting him follow the older dog, we soon forgot of the small dog and began to walk home. They soon followed us, causing my nieces to be in awe and choose to keep

Essay About My Dog

My Favorite Dog Essay

My dog Ceasar came into my life three and a half years ago. He was too early torn away from his mother and had to be bottle fed for the first few weeks of his life. Currently weighing about twenty–five pounds with blonde curly hair, he is the kind of dog that any kid would want to cuddle into bed with at night. Unfortunately, with Ceasar, that can't be the case. When Ceasar was about a year– old he started showing signs of aggression . In the beginning he would find tight space to get into and snap when we tried to retrieve him. Then it slowly turned into any time he was being punished for being on the furniture or begging he would growl and sometimes snap. Ceasar is not always an aggressive dog though, 7 out of 10 times he shows a lot of affection and loves to just cuddle. With knowing both spectrums of my dogs' temperament it is hard to fully understand why he acts the way he does some of the time. Ceasar has three key triggers that I am aware of.

Ceasar loves car rides, especially the ones that destine us for a walk. Our issue with trips to the public dog park is his aggression towards other dogs. When Ceasar was a pup he met my fiancГ©s dog Drake, a Husky Malamute mix, and they bonded. This led me to believe that Ceasar may be good with other dogs since we've never had a problem with him and Drake nor my fiancГ©s parents two dogs. But this was not the case because when Ceasar came into contact with a year–old lab named Hurley he immediately attacked. Hurley was not Get more content

"What did you do Hailey!" "What? Don't blame me, she is the one who call me a dog in the first place." "Well don't talk because if you do this will happen!" "Fine. Woof Woof." I open the door and there were not many people here. Just a few schoolers, some workers, others are mostly business man or women. I sat down the farest part away from the door. A waiter came by and ask me if I need anything to eat or drink. "Nothing is fine" I told the waiter. "Okay but no dogs allowed" Before hailey could react to anything I covered her mouth. "Sorry but this is my favorite dog would you please be a nice guy and let this slide?" "You are saying a black shepard is your favorite dog not a golden retriever?" "Hey! At least I don't work from someone who only give you 10 dollar a hour!" Hailey blared. "That is wrong I work for $10 and one cents an hour" retorted the waiter. "Wow that is so much, next you are going tell me you live in a candy castle and you ride pink unicorn to school and–" "Guys stop!" I shouted. "Look" I look at his name card "Matt I don't need anything right now but I will call you if anything happen" Matt nodded and glared at Hailey before walking away. "When will he come? He is taking really long to get here" I muttered to Hailey "I don't know usually he would be here" " Do you think maybe the black tattoo man would move somewhere else?" Suddenly, Matt drop his drink and ran toward me. "What did you just say? How do you know him?" Exclaimed Matt. "The question is how

If you had told me up to a few months ago that I would go from having presumably the largest dog in my life to owning a pup barely a foot long and eight pounds soaking wet I would have said you were nuts. Losing Chico was hard on the family. He was a Rottweiler, Black Labrador, Boxer mix and the most loveable goofball ever. He had been the family pet since he was born, his mother having been the pet of my mother's ex–boyfriend. He was fourteen years old when he passed, and the next month was rough. We weren't looking to get another pup, let alone a small pup. Then mom heard from a friend at work that someone was desperately looking to re–home their Chi–Weenie. The Friday we met Gizmo I immediately dismissed the idea. Here was this tiny pup with the black and tan fur of a Dachshund on the slightly elongated body of a Chihuahua. I could tell he was inquisitive, he roamed around the living room checking the corners and checking out our Jack Russel, Rascal. His owner, Lindsay, was talking about this and that but I was more focused on watching Gizmo. He was a bit standoffish with me, but it was expected. He was in a new place with people he had never met before, getting comfortable would take time. After Lindsay left he would run to the door and back to my mom. I went to my room to work on my homework and didn't think much more about Gizmo. That night when my mom went to bed she took Gizmo with her to try to get him more comfortable. Instead of sleeping he whine and howled off

Animals have always been incredibly important to me. Due to this, one of the biggest positive impacts in my life has always been the pets that I have owned. As cliche as it sounds, they have always been my best friends and have made a very strong impact in my life. These pets also helped to develop my love for animals, which I believe has made me into a better person. When I was born, I was welcomed into a wonderful household full of wonderful people. As important as they all were to me, my favorite in the house was ourdog, Uma. Uma was a dachshund, which is my family's favorite breed of dog. She was incredibly sweet and always managed to make our lives much better. When my parents first brought me home, Uma was very scared of me. If I came near her, she would take off as fast as she could in the other direction. This continued for the first year or so of my life. One day, though, that changed. Uma and I became best friends. When I learned to walk, she would follow me everywhere. Whenever I was upset and crying, she would always appear right by my side to help make me feel better. She did make me feel better every time, too. Her and I were inseparable.

A few years later, my family moved into a different state. Things were great; we had a giant backyard so Uma and I would go outside and play almost everyday. There were other dogs in the neighborhood for her to play with, too. However, things took a turn pretty fast. Our next door neighbor hated all of the neighborhood Get more content

I had always wanted a pet, specifically a dog. But based off of my parents reactions to my questions it seemed like I would never get one. I had made it clear to my parents that I absolutely loved golden retrievers. I never expected to get one. December 13 of 2015, my parents had stepped out to "run some errands." This meant that I was forced to babysit which was not my favorite thing to do. My younger sisters Abby and Camila were a pain to watch. In fact they are so bad that one day Abby got super glue in her eye. Little did we know that day was going to be the day we got our first dog. My parents spent the whole day in search for him and they would not give up. The pet store that we bought him from, Puppy Love, was absolutely terrible. After buying him we found out that he was abused his whole life. Simba was only 3 months old and he was feed once a day, hit, and was not cleaned up after. His life was miserable and as my mom said "even though we didn't buy him from a shelter, I still feel like we rescued him. After millions of name choices, we came across the name Simba because "The Lion King" is one of our favorite family movies. Simba was such a well behaved, smart, and loving dog. Out of all 4 dogs in my entire family, he is the most loved. He has long, flowy coats shining in different shades of beautiful gold. He has gorgeous brown eyes and a beautiful smile that gives him the friendly appearance. What I love the most about Simba is that he is not an average Golden

Having dogs in my life is a custom for me and I do not want to imagine life without them. Because of this, I currently work at "The Lil' Red Wag Inn", a dog boarding and grooming company, and it has helped teach me the proper way for caring for dogs. Many humans think only about teaching dogs; However, dogs have taught me many genuine qualities that we, as humans, tend to leave behind at times. Dogs have taught me to be supportive, compassionate, and responsible. Dogs are very forgiving creatures who remind me what matters most in life. They have and always will love us unconditionally, this is something that is hard for most people including me. Dogs have impacted my life in a way that no human ever has by teaching me loyalty, love unconditionally, and enjoy the little things. Being supportive often consists of being there for each other. Dogs are pack animals, so whatever we do, they will support us. By being supportive, dogs can ease us from stress, anxiety, and even depression. Many Studies show that interactions with dogs can decrease stress in humans. Just looking at or petting an animal can increase levels of Oxytocin. Every day when I come home my dog greets me with support and genuine happiness, this relieves me from all the baggage I've gathered throughout the day. Knowing you have someone to come home to that will support you and love you unconditionally is a great source of happiness and stress reliever. Dogs act as a role model for those with anxiety, dogs only live in the present so they're not thinking about tomorrow or yesterday. My dogs have helped me cope with anxiety, by helping me to become more mindful and appreciate the present. Dog owners are also less likely to have depression. Caring for a living animal helped me to feel more needed and loved, and it has always taken my mind away from anything negative that might have happened during the day. Talking to my dogs always help me to work out my problems. It's hard to feel lonely when you get to come home to somebody who's always happy to see you. Replacing fear and self–criticism with self–love is easier while having a friendly companion by your side, and doing so makes life easier to manage and more enjoyable.
