Position Summary: The position of International Business Coordinator (IBC) is a shared resource between the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association (NEIA), the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Newfoundland (CME) and the Aerospace and Defence Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (ADIANL). The IBC is responsible for coordinating international business development activities on behalf of the Association(s) executive, the membership and in collaboration with its local government partners. The position is contractual employment for a period of two years. Position Duties and Responsibilities: The IBC position will support the design, implementation and execution of international business activities. Specific tasks include: a. Coordinating international trade and business project activities; b. Advise and assist companies with conducting business in international markets; c. Assist companies with market screening and export assessments; d. Provide market research and intelligence; e. Provide market entry and expansion support; f. Enhance awareness of NL industry capabilities; g. Input to Association(s) newsletters and mailouts regarding international business news & opportunities; h. Develop plans, programs, procedures and policies related to international business engagement activities; and i. Coordinate the development of the long-term international trade and business engagement activities. Key Activities: a. Client engagement and consultation through needs surveys; b. Company and product profile development; c. Confer with board members and membership regarding export opportunities, including recommendation and development of proposals for international business development programs; d. International trade and business training and market planning (seminars and workshops); e. Coordination and support for incoming trade missions/delegations; f. Coordination and support for Association(s) industry networking events; g. Export market development through web based opportunity identification; h. Export mentoring; i. Matchmaking; and j. Coordination and participation in trade missions. 1
