October 15, 2015 Re: RemEAST 2015 Emerging Opportunities and Challenges in Remote Environments Maritime Provinces to Canada’s North On November 9th and 10th, ESANS will host RemEAST 2015 – Emerging Opportunities and Challenges in Remote Environments at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax, NS. Relevant details including speakers, sponsorship opportunities, and registration are attached. The conference will be a platform to share information, encourage education, enhance knowledge, network, and increase awareness of the regulatory environment and development practices. As well, the conference will showcase innovative solutions to the challenges of working in remote or cold environments including those that could be applied right here in the Maritime Provinces. To date, ESANS has confirmed participation from government, academia, and private industry on such topics as aboriginal consultation, technical challenges, case‐studies, procurement, and logistical considerations associated with a variety of services required in remote environments including infrastructure, transportation, water resources, environmental assessments, and remediation. ESANS is anticipating attendance of 250 engineers, scientists, technical experts, procurement specialists, managers, and technicians from all levels of government and private industry, including participation from senior leaders directly involved in procuring, delivering, and managing work in remote environments. In anticipation of delivering a successful conference and tradeshow, we are depending on your support by way of attendance and/or sponsorship. If you have any questions or require clarification, please do not hesitate to contact ESANS directly. Yours sincerely,
Scott Preston President Environmental Services Association of Nova Scotia (ESANS)
