Background
The GLOBE Series is North America’ largest environmental business and energy gathering. Wellrecognized as the world’s most influential and prestigious international environment industry event, GLOBE brings people together to discuss current trends and to showcase innovative technology solutions for the world’s environmental problems. Every two years, over 10,000 participants from 80 countries gather in Vancouver, generating over $400 million in new environmental business. Government decisions makers, corporate executives, and environmental technology innovators engage in high level dialogues about pressing environmental issues such as corporate sustainability, climate change and carbon management, energy, finance, and building better cities. GLOBE Series events have been used to preview innovative ideas and major multilateral processes for corporate and industry leaders from around the world in advance of major international gatherings such as the Rio and Johannesburg World Summits. The Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association (NEIA) is leading an Atlantic Canadian Mission to attend the GLOBE 2014 Conference and Tradeshow taking place 26-28 March 2014 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The goal of this project is to introduce Atlantic Canadian firms in the environmental sector to global markets and help identify potential export and international business opportunities. Distinct from a traditional trade mission to one niche market, GLOBE has the advantage of delivering access to a diverse range of international markets; GLOBE 2012 hosted thousands of participants representing 58 countries. This unique opportunity will offer Atlantic Canadian firms exposure to an immeasurable number of prospects for idea sharing, networking, partnerships and contracts. NEIA is seeking the support of a qualified consultant to identify key potential match-firms which are prospective customers or partners for the Atlantic Canadian firms attending. The consultant will work to facilitate a strategic meeting program for Atlantic Canadian mission delegates to meet with identified firms and organizations. This meeting program for Atlantic Canadian delegates will serve to complement attendance of the conference’s program of events and a shared Atlantic Canada Trade Pavilion at the conference.
