I was very nervous, in fact I was so worried about being late that I arrived two hours early for our live broadcast. It aired Monday, December 19th at 9 a.m. and was my first time on a morning show but Michael and
Co-Host Stephanie Webb, along with the rest of the crew, made me feel right at home. I had the opportunity to quickly describe a little bit about what our magazine does in the community and talked about one of our favorite local charities we cover, ToyMakers of East Lake! It was a perfect charity to highlight because they put a smile on the faces of so many children and their families year round and especially during the holidays by giving children in need

Community Calendar & News Briefs GFWC New Tampa Juniorettes
West Meadows Food Truck Rally
The GFWC New Tampa Juniorettes had a great start to their new year. While the Club started with just 13 returning members in August, after a very successful new member social in September, it boasts 47 members as of November! In August, the members wrote cards to veterans to support a "mail call" campaign. The girls also wrote welcome back to school notes to Mort Elementary students and sent them new boxes of crayons. Also in August, the Juniorettes volunteered at an Honor Flight at Home Ceremony for the 120 veterans at the Baldomero-Lopez State Nursing Home. It was an incredibly moving event for everyone in attendance, and the girls hope to attend a welcome home ceremony in the future. In September, the girls attended a Safety Bears 4 Kids workshop where they and other groups in attendance helped create 197 bears to be donated to children who suffer from abuse or neglect. The members enjoyed a rousing Zumba session at their September meeting. In October, the girls handed
out water at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, a favorite event. In November, they volunteered at the 5 and 15K run called Race for a Place in support of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. The Juniorettes painted children's faces and even some dogs. They donated the $30 in tips they made to the Humane Society. The Juniorettes were busy wrapping gifts at Barnes and Noble in
