Tampa Premium Outlets Set to Open This October!

After years of anticipation, Tampa Premium Outlets is scheduled to open its doors within the next few weeks. More style, more fun and more shopping deals are almost here, with 110 stores to open in October. With that many stores, the mall is likely to bring in between 800 and 1000 new jobs to our community. This is a huge deal for the Wesley Chapel/ New Tampa area, which has grown significantly in the past 10 years. I am so happy to see this com-

munity grow, and the Grand Opening of the Tampa Premium Outlets is just the beginning. Saks Fifth Avenue OFF FIFTH is set to be the anchor. County leaders have been working on bringing a project like this to the area for over 10 years but once Simon Outlets got the green light they hit the ground running and never looked back. Just breaking ground in December, this 441,000 sqft outlet mall is almost complete, as the crews are adding their finishing touches right now as you read this article. From what we’ve been told,

this is only phase one of a project, that could potentially bring in more than 1 million sqft of retail space! It’s quite amazing that such a large structure was completed in less than a year. I live right down the road from the outlets and couldn’t believe how fast this project went up. My wife just said to me yesterday, “Wait, is that the outlets? I thought they just started building them but they already look like they are done!” I should have told her no; it would probably save me a lot of money if she didn’t know where they were.

But, knowing her she’d find out sooner or later. With a simple google search you can find the Tampa Premium Outlets, located at 2398 Grand Cypress Drive, Lutz, FL 33559. As of press date the Outlets have announced a number of retailers including Adidas, Banana Republic Factory, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Express Factory Outlet, Gap factory Store, Nike Factory Store, Puma, Disney Outlet, Hartstrings, Coach, Cole Haan, Ecco, Samsonite and Fossil.

Allpro Tree and Landscaping Certified Arborist and Landscaping Professional Serving the Tampa Bay area with quality tree and landscaping services, Allpro Tree and Landscaping works to keep your commercial and residential sites looking fresh, trimmed and healthy. Whether you are in need of professional landscape design and installation, or safe tree service, Allpro has the skill, knowledge and experience to exceed your expectations and get your foliage looking fabulous! Allpro Tree and Landscaping services include landscape design and installation, tree-trimming and removal, rock beds and mulch, stump grinding, sod installation and removal and tractor work. Allpro uses a CAD program that actually shows you “after” pictures of your future landscape project. Pete Spiridis, owner and operator of Allpro Tree and Landscaping is a certified arborist. Pete believes that quality performance comes with working safe and smart, while utilizing the right tools for each individual job. In

order to keep up with today’s industry standards, Pete sends all team members at Allpro to regular safety and technique courses at the International Society of Arboriculture. Pete’s expectations for himself and his team are set with high standards and he strives for excellence in his work. “I started my business as a young kid right out of high school in 1997. I took over my dad’s lawn service and ran that for a number of years,” says Pete. “I thought I would like to go in a different direction, so I gave massage therapy a shot, but as I would watch maintenance crews at work outside my air-conditioned unit, I realized that I

was kidding myself and my true passion was in outside, hands-on work. I shut down my massage business and purchased equipment the next day. I started mowing lawns again but also added trees and landscaping to my service and was very successful, maintaining over 400 weekly clients.” As Pete’s business grew, he recognized early on that he wanted to do more for himself and his clients. “I wasn’t happy because I stand for something and I wasn’t reaching my full potential. My quality of life wasn’t what it should be and I let my stress take over, which in turn affected my personal life as a husband and my faith,” says Pete.

“I knew that change was in order because God had bigger plans for me. In 2007, I opened up Allpro Tree and Landscaping to provide better, quality assured services. My wife and I came up with this name, Allpro, because to us it means that at we are who we say we are – All professionals, no more day laborers. You must know your area of expertise. We only focus on trees and landscaping, which sets us apart from others. I hold myself accountable to give true and honest meaning behind the name Allpro.” Pete adds, “I believe that in order to be the best, you need to gain as much knowledge in your field as possible. So in 2011, I earned the title Certified Arborist and with that title I maintain CEUs and also take the advantage of sending my team members to classes so they can be the best at what they do. I am only as good as my team, so I make sure they are the best.” Team members at Allpro Tree and Landscaping are always in recognizable uniforms, so you can know exactly who is working on the job!

The team cleaned up all debris and left our yard looking great!” Another satisfied client, Armand says, “Allpro owner Pete and his crew removed one large oak using a crane, removed three smaller trees and included stump grinding as part of their services. One of the oaks was overhanging over the garage roof and was raised and trimmed by the crew to open up space. My backyard oak was also trimmed. Pete prepped the yard for new sod and installed new St. Augustine sod after removing piles of block, brick and small trees. The sod provided was the best I have seen after two re-sodding projects. All the work was completed in two days and cleaned up, including a freshly pressure washed driveway. Overall the

Fully licensed and insured, Allpro Tree and Landscaping is dedicated to providing clients with the best service possible in a way that doesn’t harm you, your yard or the trees they are working with. Pete takes every step to ensure that he and his team are the professionals who do it all and do it the best when it comes to tree and landscaping services. When hiring a tree and landscaping service, working with a certified arborist is the smart way to go. Improperly pruned trees are at risk for disease, which can lead to them having to be removed. Trees and a beautifully landscaped yard add value to your home and business. We are all so lucky to live in tropical Florida, where we can enjoy plants and lush trees year round. From tropical palms and

citrus trees to the glorious southern live oak and towering pine trees, Certified Arborist Pete Spiridis of Allpro has the knowledge to keep your Florida landscape looking its best. Allpro was chosen as the Super Service Award Winner for Angie’s List customers in 2013. This award is highly prestigious and is only given to the top five percent of companies chosen by Angie’s List as earning the Super Service title. Ken H. of Tarpon Springs says, “Pete is very professional. We called several tree services and Allpro’s pricing was the best. Pete was also the most professional. He got all the permits needed for the work we needed done. Pete was on the job site the entire time, working right alongside his team. His equipment is adequate to

work was excellent and professional. I will be using Allpro again!” The Allpro team can help you before and after big storms by helping you in finding dangerous limbs that may harm your home or even coming by after a storm to help you clean up. Pete is all about safety and works to protect you and your family from instances that could possibly be harmful. He takes precautionary measures and with Hurricane season right around the corner, it’s best to be preventative rather than reactive! Allpro is rated as a top professional tree and landscaping service throughout the Tampa Bay area. Christine says, “The crew shows up on time, working quickly and efficiently to finish a job. I am very pleased with Allpro’s professionalism and service!” Whether you are in need of a specialized arborist’s opinion, landscaping design, clean-up services or tree/debris removal – Allpro’s pro attitude and services are the best you can get! Pete says, “When you have a tree to be trimmed, make sure the tree service you are hiring loves that tree as much as you do! Hire a certified arborist, not some doorknocker claiming to give you a deal. You will get the best with Allpro!” To contact Allpro Tree and Landscaping for an estimate, please call Pete at (813) 244-9234 or (727) 409-3315. Barkdoll Massage Therapy, Where the Massage Comes to You By Julie Kanehl Massage is a universal language that has been “spoken” for centuries in every region of the globe, and it has many benefits including the ability to reduce anxiety, relieve pain, reduce blood pressure, and aid in relaxation. For many people, massage is a rare treat that they look forward to at the spa or as an experience during their vacation. Others use massage on a regular basis to help with chronic pain, reduce inflammation or to help heal after an injury. Whatever your reason for wanting a massage, Barkdoll Massage Therapy makes it easy, affordable and best of all, Barkdoll comes to you. Barkdoll Massage Therapy, which is an entirely mobile-based massage business, is based in the Trinity area and is owned and operated by Licensed Professional, Karla Barkdoll, who has been in the massage industry since 2001. Serving Trinity and the surrounding communities, Barkdoll Massage Therapy is completely different in that it takes all of the stress out of your massage experience by bringing it straight to you. No traffic, no stress, just pure relaxation where you feel most comfortable!

Originally from a small town in central Pennsylvania, Karla moved to Baltimore where she trained at the Baltimore School of Massage. Licensed in Maryland, DC, Virginia and Florida, Karla is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, and is Nationally Board Certified. Karla’s massages can be done anywhere – at home, poolside, or at the office. Most of her clients choose the room in their house that offers the least distractions, and there she creates a wonderful environment for massage. She also takes the time to really speak to her clients before their massage to learn more about them so that she can create the best personalized massage experience. Lindsey from New Port Richey says, “If you are looking for the best massage, then look no further than Karla, she is a rare find. Once you have a massage from Karla, you will look no further, that I will guarantee!”

Massage Services that Improve Your Life “Your Health is your Wealth” is the philosophy at Barkdoll Massage Therapy, and that is why Karla takes the time to really find out what kind of

massage you prefer, whether it’s a Swedish massage or a deep tissue treatment for chronic pain, Karla’s massage will make a difference in your life. Karla offers a wide range of affordable massage therapy styles and packages. If you are looking for a traditional massage, Swedish massage treatments are designed to improve circulation, reduce stress and to relieve muscle tension. This massage is very popular all over the world because of its light, long, and slow strokes that relax your cares and worries away. If you are interested in trying something a little different, hot stone massages use something called warm stone therapy, which is the art of using heated stones in combination with a Swedish massage. According to Karla, the warm stones dissolve muscle tension and induce a deep relaxation. Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic treatment designed to ease the pain and discomfort associated with chronic pain. Karla says, “During deep tissue massages I use trigger points to specifically find the places where the work needs to be done.” Deep tissue massages can help people who live with painful conditions live a fuller life. Another style of massage that

you just want a great stress reliever or you have a medical condition I would highly recommend Karla!” If you are looking for a fantastic way to improve morale at work, how about offering your employees a corporate seated massage? What a great way to let your employees know how much you care about them!

from chronic pain associated with a medical condition, this kind of massage can be extremely beneficial. One of Karla’s clients from Trinity recently said, “I have had the pleasure of having Karla as a massage therapist for the past six years and it has always been an enriching and healing experience. She is knowledgeable, professional and a kindhearted person and I have no hesitation in recommending her service. She has hands of gold!” Prenatal massages are a fantastic way to pamper the mom-to-be while easing some of the side effects of pregnancy. Karla uses specially designed massage table pillows that create a comfortable position just for her during this time, so that pregnant moms can safely enjoy their massage. Aromatherapy is proven to aid in relaxation, which is why Barkdoll Massage Therapy offers a variety of essential oils and scents that can be used in collaboration with any other style of massage. Most often used with a Swedish massage, aromatherapy oils are applied by Karla during your massage to enhance the massage experience. One local couple recently wrote, “We all have very busy schedules and it saves us time and stress to have Karla come right to our home. My husband has chronic pain and her weekly massages help him tremendously. Whether

I am a huge fan of massages. I go every chance I get, but to be honest, that isn’t very often. When I’m not busy with my family or writing for the Neighborhood News, I’m like most moms and am usually concerned with everyone else’s comfort over my own. That’s why I was so excited to be given the chance to experience one of Karla’s massages by the staff at Neighborhood News. (Thanks Jim!) Scheduling my massage turned out to be a breeze because Barkdoll Massage Therapy is one of the only places that offers evening massage appointments. It was all very easy for me since I wasn’t going to have to worry about driving anywhere or a babysitter for the kids! On the evening of my massage appointment, I simply picked

out a quiet room in the house, sent the kids outside to play with my hubby, and got ready to enjoy my massage. Karla arrived right on time and brought everything she needed with her. A true professional, Karla even wears a clinical massage uniform. Within just a few minutes Karla had set up the massage table and was set up and ready to go. I was really impressed with how quickly the room I had picked had been transformed. Before we started she spoke to me about what kind of massage treatment I wanted, and she asked if I had any injuries that she needed to be aware of. We decided on a combination Swedish and deep tissue massage. She also offered me many different aromatherapy options from rose oil to eucalyptus. I felt totally at ease, and while she stepped out of the room, I comfortably got onto the massage table and got settled. When Karla came back in a moment later, she put on what I like to call “massage music,” and spoke to me about what she was going to do before she began. To my surprise, I was even more relaxed because I was at home. I enjoyed the entire hour instead of wondering how many minutes had passed, or wondering about the kids. I felt safe, pampered and well cared for. After my massage, I felt like a soft-

ened stick of butter, and I was able to just put on my slippers instead of my shoes! This was an incredibly cool experience that made me feel more centered, and really changed my outlook. I felt great for days and my entire family could see what a difference it made for me both physically and emotionally. I can see that a massage with Karla would be a great gift, which is why I’m so happy that she offers gift certificates, but one of the best parts about Barkdoll Massage Therapy is how affordable it is. I might not have to wait for a special occasion because her pricing is competitive and affordable enough to fit into anyone’s budget on a regular basis. From now on, I’m going to take better care of myself, and that includes having massage treatments from Barkdoll Massage Therapy on a regular basis. See you in a few weeks Karla! Barkdoll Massage Therapy is an entirely mobile massage therapy business that comes to you. Karla Barkdoll (License # MA47546) is available 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. by appointment only. Your home is your safe haven, and within your home, you have your special spaces where you can close the door and just let the rest of the world slip away. There is no better place than a beautiful master bath suite where you can recharge yourself. So shouldn’t your bathroom reflect your individuality? If you are considering updating your bathroom, you’ll want an experienced, licensed contractor who is reliable and affordable, and one who will turn your vision into your dream-come-true. You want someone like Chris Snyder, owner of Snyder Custom Bathrooms and More, who specializes in remodeling and renovation projects for your home and guarantees that you will receive quality, honest work from start to finish. Located out of Pasco County, Snyder Custom Bathrooms and More specializes in custom bathrooms, cabinet installations, fixture solutions and more. With a lifetime of experience in the construction business, Chris Snyder works side-by-side with his wife Faylee to bring you quality work at fair pricing that you can trust will last. Chris says, “When it comes to hiring a contractor for a home remodel or renovation, you want to make sure you are choosing someone that will walk you through every step of the process, keep you involved in the project and perform quality work that is long-lasting. Faylee and I work together on each individual project to ensure that our clients get exactly what they want by a team they can trust. We don’t subcontract and we always visit our jobsites together.” As a homeowner, it is your responsibility to make certain that a contractor is licensed and insured; always ask about licensing and check their credentials, because a faulty job could

end up costing you valuable time and money. Contractor Chris Snyder is both licensed and insured to perform contracting work in the State of Florida. Chris built his first house with his dad when he was eight years old and has been in the building business ever since, and has had his contractor’s license since 2004. It truly is his passion to provide beautiful custom designs for his clients that are not only aesthetically pleasing but durable and functional as well. Faylee, a native Floridian, says, “We work together as a team because we just love being together and completing a project makes us both feel accomplished. What better life is there than to work with your soul mate every day and be happy dong it?” Chris adds, “We love the Tampa Bay Area and are here to stay. Our customers never have to worry about us not being there for them if something goes awry. We make it our mission to provide the best finished project the first time around, but if anything isn’t up to standards, we get back to the project right away and find a solution, free of travel fees.” In addition to a one-year warranty on labor for any work performed, you will always receive honest work from Faylee and Chris. “Our name is our reputation and we only want the best to be said about our work,” says Chris. “Many of our clients appreciate that we work as a husband and wife team…many times we even become friends with our clients because we strive to build relationships with each person whose home we enter.” Chris specializes in custom bathrooms, but can do just about any kind of contracting work. Snyder Custom Bathrooms and More has a long list of references and works with you to find discounts through material vendors

The Snyder Difference: In addition to honest, quality work from a licensed and insured construction expert, you receive a lesson in home upkeep and renovation projects when working with Snyder Custom Bathrooms and More. “We walk our clients through the process of what we will be doing to their house,” says Faylee. “During our initial consultation, we sit down with you and find out exactly what you are looking for. From there, we are able to tell you if your project is feasible or not. If a contractor is not willing to sit down with you and have a conversation with you about your style, design preferences and budget, then you should not use them! Many contractors will just

throw around numbers with you, you’ll agree on a bid and then start the work. We make a huge effort to educate our customers about their project from start to finish and we are flexible to meet their scheduling needs.” Tampa Attorney Paul Prezepis only uses Snyder Custom Bathrooms and More for house renovation and construction needs because he only wants the best for his home and family. Paul says, “The first time I ever used Chris Snyder for a significant project was actually at my parents’ house. They had a sunroom with a leak and I checked into a few different contractors’ estimates. I chose Chris because I could just tell he was the type of contractor that was truly honest. From my experience with contractors I have seen that most don’t take the time to walk you through the process. From the minute Chris walks in the door you get an overall sense of trust with the guy. He knew what the exact problem was, why it leaked and showed me the project plans. This was before I really knew Chris well, but I just knew he was the right guy for the job. Every guy that came over before Chris visited was your typical

that can be passed on to customers. Chris says, “I can get great discounts with the companies I use. We can usually find what the customer wants at a better price than they would get if they were doing the shopping on their own. If you order something that needs to be picked up, we even will get the material to your home for installation. We cover all the bases, from start to finish.”

Trinity Family Physicians Announces the First Recipient of the Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award Dr. Amir Shirmohammad and Dr. Stephanie Eldridge appreciate the great response to the inaugural Trinity Family Physicians’ Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. Trinity Family Physicians announced the Award in Neighborhood News & Lifestyles publications in July and now the physicians are excited to announce the first recipient of the Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. Dr. Shirmo (as his patients affectionately call him) presented Jim Carow with a beautiful gift basket donated from partnering sponsor Grille 54 that was filled with wine, cheese, crackers and of course, a gift certificate to enjoy a delicious dinner at Grille 54. Nominated for his volunteer work with the IWork program at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Jim Carow makes a difference in the lives of others here in Tampa Bay! Dr. Shirmo met with Jim Carow and his wife Mary to learn more about the volunteer work they do and he shared the reason that he and Dr. Eldridge created the Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. “My wife and I wanted to start a program where we could give back for a worthwhile cause,” said Dr. Shirmo. “Dr. Eldridge said right away, ‘Why don’t we give out an award to people in our community who are making a difference in the daily lives of others?’ We both loved the idea!” Dr. Eldridge and Dr. Shirmo grew up in Tampa Bay, fell in love in Tampa Bay, went away to earn medical degrees together and then came back to the area to open a family medical practice and raise their own family. They look for ways to promote good in the community they love and though it has been a busy time for the husband-and-wife team – Dr. Eldridge

just gave birth to their third daughter in August and Dr. Shirmo volunteers as one of the team physicians for his alma mater Jesuit High School – they still found a way to honor others who are making a difference with Trinity Family Physicians’ Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. There were some exceptional nominees and it wasn’t an easy decision for Trinity Family Physicians but they kept coming back to one email with a nominee who seemed to exemplify everything that the Tampa Bay Making A DifferDr. Shirmohammad (L) presents Jim Carow (R), the first recipient of the Tampa Bay Making a ence Award is meant Difference Award, with a beautiful gift basket donated from partnering sponsor Grille 54. to represent. much heart into the IWork program that it has morphed into much more than a workshop. It is fellowship and caring. “When we had our first meeting, we thought it would be about strategy, networking, Linked In…and we do all that, but it is so much more. The methods we teach work at all levels. We have all kinds of people from physicians to 19-year-olds wanting to find summer jobs. We just give people hope.” He recalls the early planning of IWork with a laugh, “When they said we have to feed people, I said, ‘Do we really have to? Does every Baptist function have to include feeding people? Can’t we just teach them?’ But they were right. I realized early on that for some, this was their only meal of the day. We’ve got stories that will melt your heart and we’ve got stories that will send you to the moon.” The IWork program has built in a couple of traditions. Every year they have an “Office Party” Christmas Party and put Publix gift cards under the tree. Jim recalls one young woman who had lost her car and was losing her house; she was depressed and almost didn’t come to IWork’s office party when she got the voicemail but decided to ride her bike. Jim recalled, “She burst into tears upon opening

her card and finding that she had $25 for food. She said, ‘This will last me a week!’ And then a man walked over to her and handed her his Publix gift card.” Remarkable! Another tradition happened purely by accident. Sharon had been looking for a job for two years when she decided to go to IWork on Monday nights. After a couple of meetings, she got a job and to celebrate, bought a cake with her first paycheck and brought it in to share with the group. Someone brand new to the group that night got a job the same week and thought it was what everyone did so he showed up with a cake the next week. A tradition of celebration was born, and hope carries on at IWork. Dr. Shirmo asked Jim Carow if there was anything he’d like to see happen from the exposure of winning the Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. His answer was much the same as Pastor Hanes – that other churches and organizations will offer the same types of support for those sincerely seeking gainful employment. Jim pointed out that there are other churches in the area that have similar programs. Log on to Idlewild.org for more information about the IWork program at Idlewild Baptist Church.
