Wheelchairs 4 Kids Goes Water Skiing!

Tarpon Springs based charity Wheelchairs 4 Kids proves that children in wheelchairs can accomplish amazing things! The organization took many of their kids water skiing at U Can Ski 2 in Winterhaven. The kids had the time of their lives and more than one parent shed a tear watching their child do something they never dreamed possible. U Can Ski 2 is a nonprofit located in Winter Haven that takes people with disabilities water skiing with adaptive equipment. It is run out of the home of World Champion Disabled Water skier, Ann O’Brine-

Satterfield. “This was the most amazing day,” stated Wheelchairs 4 Kids Executive Director Madeline Robinson, “I was a little nervous planning this event, but once I saw the safety precautions in place and the massive smiles on our kids’ faces I knew we had made the right decision! We will definitely be back next year.” Eight-year-old Brian loved skiing and was able to ski unaided on his first run! In his words, “It was spectacular!” Roby’s mom, Robyn had tears in her eyes when she saw the guides let go and he was skiing by himself.

Wheelchairs 4 Kids is a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children with physical disabilities. They also recently took 30 children to the WWE RAW event at Amalie Arena courtesy of the Tampa Bay Lightning Foundation and Delaware North Catering. In addition to providing fun activities for children with disabilities, Wheelchairs 4 Kids raises funds to provide – you guessed it – wheelchairs for kids! Experience Impact Health’s Whole Body Approach to Wellness, Fitness, & Nutrition By Julie Kanehl Healthcare has become incredibly compartmentalized over the years, which basically means that if you’re one person with a bum knee, a bad back and an addiction to cheese pizza and chocolate chip cookies, your primary care doctor could have you seeing a myriad of specialists. One who specializes in knees, one for your back, one for weight loss and so on. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a place who would give you the one-on-one personalized, hands-on attention that would help your body perform better? For eight years, the staff at Impact Health has been helping clients who suffer from pain caused by injuries, disease, or simply age. By educating people about their own bodies and working with them in personalized, one-on-one sessions that yield incredible, tangible results, Impact Health is changing lives. Located at 180 Alternate 19 N. in Palm Harbor, Impact Health is convenient to all of North-

gram, he always knew that he wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. A dedicated father of six, he and his wife Claudia wanted to open a clinic that was based on looking at the body as a whole, and seeing how it works together as the sum of its parts, instead of piece by piece and symptom by symptom. Also on staff at Impact Health is Philip Ivanov, PT, DPT, who earned a Doctorate from the University of

South Florida in Physical Therapy. Philip served in the United States Navy for four years, where he earned many awards, before attending USF. He says, “While in the military, I was part of Rescue swimmers for my ship and was the leading fire fighter for the #1 hose crew on our shipboard firefighting team. The duties on board ship were a large influence in my decision to become involved in medicine.” He joined Impact Health because he believed in their approach, saying, “Practicing physical therapy by taking care of the client first and then addressing the dysfunction, rather than just treating the dysfunction, was a very interesting philosophy I came across at Impact Health. In my experience, most therapists do not take the time to look at the individual.” The newest addition to the staff is Raymond Agostino, PT, DPT. Raymond came into this field after seeing what a difference it made in his grandmother’s life after suffering a stroke. He said, “Her recovery is what inspired me to try to help others regain their physical abilities. My grandmother has since passed away, but she would be very proud that I have been able to accomplish my goal of earning a Doctor of Physical Therapy from

Florida Gulf Coast University. One of my major professional interests is golf performance training and rehabilitation. As part of my studies, I became a certified Nike Golf NG360° Performance Specialist. This certification has allowed me to help golfers return to golf pain-free, improve performance and have more fun while playing the sport they love.” Impact Health enjoys helping people of all ages regain their health, gain long-term wellness and even achieve peak performance in their chosen field. From athletes who have had injuries to everyday people who live with chronic pain, Impact Health

works on connecting the dots, and strengthening your body so that it can work the way in which it was designed. Physical Therapy includes manual therapy, massaging and stretching of muscles, working on movement, restoration of soft tissue, the building up and strengthening of muscles and joints, and the overall communication between the different muscles in the body. Additionally, Impact Health is now offering K-Laser Therapy. KLaser Therapy is a new, nonsurgical, drug-free pain option that helps patients who suffer from back and neck

East Lake Area Neighborhood News & Lifestyles

pain, nerve injuries, sprains and strains, sports injuries and more. Many clients swear by K-Laser Therapy. One states, “The laser helps facilitate a quicker response for my body to bounce back after I play a lot of golf. If I play 10 rounds of golf in Pebble Beach in a week, I’d normally need three to four weeks of rehabilitation afterward. But the laser cuts that recovery time significantly – probably by 50 percent. I love to play golf and want to enjoy physical activity. Ongoing therapy – and now this laser – helps me maintain a rigorous, active lifestyle.” Clients Feel The Positive Impact At Impact Health! What makes Impact Health completely unique is their complete oneon-one focus. In traditional physical therapy approaches, clients are generally seen in a gym environment, and clients are left to work on repetitive exercises or put on machines while the therapists work with other clients. Impact Health offers clients private rooms, personalized treatment, and all the tools you need to get you where you’d like to be, whether that’s back on your feet again, or in the best shape of your life. In a letter to Joe, Tom M. Andrews, M.D. wrote, “Joe, I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate your impact on my life. Your excellent skills in therapy and your keen insight into physical complaints are key to keeping me healthy and able to complete my goals. My success in the Ironman is due to you.” In 2014, the majority of doctors polled only spent 13-16 minutes with each client. After the pleasantries, not a lot of time is left for the examination, questions and writing prescriptions. Healthcare is so regimented by insurance codes and data, that even well meaning healthcare providers

have difficulty allotting more time to each client. Impact Health was created to break all those rules by putting clients first and leaving the insurance codes in the dust. Joe explains, “Healthcare has changed, and as an industry we became more focused on who paid and referred than on who we were treating. That has never worked for me. I believe that we need to be responsible to each other. You, as my client, are my focus; not your insurance company, not your referring doctor. I will communicate with them on your behalf, which is my professional responsibility. My approach with clients has developed over time. I realized I am much more successful when I approach every client assessment looking at the total body rather than any one pain or ailment.” Gene, a client of Impact Health, said, “My son was referred to Joe Millen by a doctor because he was not recovering from shoulder surgery after a football injury. While rehabbing my son’s shoulder, Joe outlined a comprehensive “whole body” conditioning program designed to make him a better player. My son’s shoulder is now stronger than ever and he was singled out for his performance at a major college camp. After watching how he worked with my son, I started a conditioning program with Joe. I noticed that IH’s client base was full of doctors and their families! I realized he is the doctors’ doctor.” Impact Health’s main location is at 180 Alternate 19 N., Ste. B., in Palm Harbor. They also have a 2nd location in Tampa at 2202 N. Westshore Blvd. at Corporate Center One in the International Plaza. Both locations operate by appointment. Personal Touch Kitchens & Bathrooms is savvy in the latest trends when it comes to color, texture, stonework and more. Cheryl updated me on the newest trends – what is out, what’s in and

East Lake Area Neighborhood News & Lifestyles

what people are asking for. She says, “Painted cabinets continue to be timeless with white and antique white being the number one and two choices throughout the country. Grey has become very popular over the past five years and has really become the new tan. People are choosing grey for a more simplistic, streamlined and modern look. Clean and simplistic is in. Many people are choosing to add a pop of grey to their kitchens, whether it’s as an accent color or countertops; the color combines well with so many styles.” Whether you choose one area to accent with grey, such as your island cabinets, or you get brazen with fifty shades of grey throughout the entire kitchen, you can’t go wrong with the clean, look of modern grey. A popular new choice for countertops is quartz, which has recently become the number one choice due to its simplicity, easy maintenance and non-porous surface that does not require sealing. “Brands such as Cambria have developed beautiful granite-looking materials that offer movement, texture and depth to a kitchen,” says Cheryl. “Another brand, Caesarstone, excels in a marble look with a quartz material.” Cheryl shared another way that you can update your kitchen. “It is

very on-trend to have a contrasting island paired with textured looking paint on the cabinets. Many people are choosing to add multiple layers of paint over wood for an antiqued look, especially when they are choosing the cabinets for their kitchen islands. It is very popular to choose an island countertop that has contrasting colored cabinets.” One theme that never goes out of style: Classic, clean and simple leads the way in choice for remodels. More and more people want a minimalist feel with hidden storage to provide clean, simple spaces that are functional. Cheryl says, “Seventy percent of people who walk in want something simple. They want their kitchens to look pretty, be functional and have a look that will stand the test of time in design.” Personal Touch Kitchens & Bathrooms has everything you need for kitchen and bathroom remodels. From the smallest of starter homes to full-out custom kitchens, Cheryl and Kim are a dream design team. “We can do as little or as much as needed,” says Cheryl. “We have many skilled contractors we work with or we can recommend ones and let the client oversee the project. We want to work with our clients to ensure they get the remodel that they want at a budget they can afford. Each remodeling project is different and so we make sure our clients get the individual, personal attention they deserve so they are happy when their remodel is complete.” Personal Touch Kitchens & Bathrooms is located in the Palm Harbor Commons near Nebraska Avenue at 33478 US Highway 19 N. Tampa Rejuvenation - “Your Health Our Passion” By Matthew Selby Let’s face it, getting older has this awful little side effect of aging your body. As hormones deplete, our skin begins to sag and wrinkle, our sex drive declines, we gain unexplained weight, we have sleep issues, and our drive for life lessens. We cannot control time as it passes each day, but with advancements in technology and medical research, we now can slow down the negative effects of the aging process in a safe and very effective way. Tampa Rejuvenation, with its closest of 4 clinics located at 13648 West Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa, separates themselves with their integrative approach to medicine. The physicians at Tampa Rejuvenation let their work and happy customer testimonials speak for themselves. Patient Nancy H. writes, “Tampa Rejuvenation helped me lose a very needed 30 pounds! My primary doctor was very impressed that I am now much healthier and no longer a diabetic risk. The HCG diet is healthy, safe and fast. The staff is great! They are all knowledgeable, courteous and helpful (the Doctor, the Nutritionist,

medical assistants, counselors, office administrators). They monitor everything from beginning to end and will help at any time. I have also now learned how to eat healthier. Between this and the diet, I will be keeping the weight off. I feel so much better, healthier and confident. It was one of the best things I've done!” The staff at Tampa Rejuvenation is detail-oriented and patient-specific in their treatment – it’s not cookie cutter medicine. The science is out there; the treatment is available; but finding the right physicians for you can make all the difference in the world. The physicians at Tampa Rejuvenation are unique – they left the modern tunnel-vision style of medicine behind. They understand that many times conventional medicine is designed by “BIG-PHARMA“ to relieve symptoms and sometimes only masks those symptoms to make them bearable. I don’t know about you, but I sure don’t want to settle for just bearable symptoms of anything. At Tampa Rejuvenation the physicians honed in their skills with only one goal in mind – to fix the problem, not hide it. While interview-

ing the founder of Tampa Rejuvenation, Brett Markowitz, the simple premise of going to sleep each night and feeling good about what his team was doing is clearly at the forefront of his business goals and morals. He and his staff are passionate about their patients and seeing improvements in their health. It’s clearly something they refuse to waiver from. Since each patient is different, with their expertise in this field of integrative medicine of anti-aging, the physicians not only focus on the lab

work, but they listen to symptoms and focus on their goals when designing a customized treatment plan using bio identical hormones and treating weight issues. The physicians at Tampa Rejuvenation focus more on quality than quantity; they want a patient committed to their health; not a patient that is just interested in taking a magic pill and has unrealistic expectations – that’s a fantasy. The reality is it has to be a complete change in lifestyle. That’s why the physicians at Tampa Rejuvena-

4-D Longevity Plan Tampa Rejuvenation Wellness Center’s physicians believe in what they call a “4D Longevity” plan. The 4 D’s consist of DIET, DAILY HORMONES, your unique DNA, and DETOX. If you follow this plan, you're going to be successful. It’s that easy. The Diet is specially designed for each patient individually based upon their DNA. you, and it really is incredible. It takes the “fad” diets and the guessing out of the equation. You finally find out what foods you need to eat for your specific body. You can even find out what foods to completely stay away from due to allergies and sensitivities you may not even know you had. The daily hormone aspect of this plan is simple. You don’t need to take a bunch of pills, injections or topical medications anymore. Your hormone therapy is only once every 3-6 months (depending on whether you are male or female) via bio-identical hormone pellets inserted into the fat just below the skin. It’s virtually painless and takes only a few minutes.

Crystal Nail & Spa in East Lake Celebrates its Tenth Anniversary September is a special month at Crystal Nail & Spa as it marks the tenyear anniversary for the popular nail spa located at 3438 East Lake Road in the East Lake Woodlands Shopping Center. “We are very proud of how busy the salon is and that our customers are happy coming here,” says owner Johnny Nguyen. He and his wife Jenny truly love their customers and it is easy to see that their customers love them as well. Many of Crystal Nail & Spa’s customers have been coming to the nail spa since it opened ten years ago and it isn’t unusual for them to greet their customers by name and even exchange hugs. Crystal Nail & Spa is welcoming and accommodating. Every customer is offered water or a soda when they come in, and relaxing music plays. Also, Johnny makes a point of asking each customer if they are satisfied before they checkout. “I want my customers to be truly happy,” he says. Judy and her husband Jerry have been coming to Crystal Nail & Spa since it first opened. She says, “We

But more important than anything, they are very clean here. And I am very particular! Not only do they have our name on everything (customers get their own pedicure/manicure tool set); they know us by name. We send a lot of

It was another customer who recommended

Crystal Nail & Spa and now I don’t go anywhere else. They always do a really good job here.” On any given day, the salon is hopping with both men and women, yet customers never feel rushed in the busy salon. Rather, everyone seems happy and relaxed. Many couples, like Judy and Jerry, are making it a point to come into the salon together to

relax and chat. Crystal Nail & Spa has 24 licensed nail technicians on staff so the salon easily accommodates customers without rushing. Offering the latest in nail styles and applications, including acrylic, gel and bio-seaweed, your nails will be beautiful extension of your own, unique personality after a visit to Crystal Nail & Spa. Celebrating Ten Years With Luxurious New Pedicure Chairs! In celebration of their tenth year of business and to thank their loyal customers for Crystal Nail & Spa’s continued growth and success, Johnny and Jenny are making some awesome upgrades to Crystal Nail & Spa that customers are going to love. Johnny recently ordered fourteen brand new, super luxurious spa pedicure chairs, which will be installed soon and will replace all of the chairs except the two smaller children’s pedicure chairs, bringing the total of pedicure chairs to sixteen. While the chairs currently in place seem just fine – Johnny says the new ones are going to be amazing. Instead of twelve massage settings, the new chairs have eighteen different massage settings. Basically, these new spa pedicure

chairs are going to knock your socks off and you’ll want to keep them off to show your beautiful pedicure! I can’t wait to go back for a hot stone pedicure! It is affordable luxury at its best! Julie Kanehl wrote about Crystal Nail & Spa, saying, “Their Hot Stone Pedicure is the pedicure that keeps people coming in the door all day long and bringing their sisters, their friends, their moms and their husbands. I’m talking about 45 minutes of soaking, exfoliating, massaging heaven, right here in Palm Harbor, with your choice of amazing scents from chocolate to citrus, and lavender to coffee. Jenny told me that the most popular scents are citrus, lavender and chocolate, but that many people appreciate the Organic Pedicure, which is perfect for sensitive skin. Crystal Nail & Spa is located in the East Lake Woodlands Shopping Center behind McDonald’s in Boot Ranch at 3438 East Lake Road in Palm Harbor. Hours are: Mon. – Fri., 9:30 a.m.–7 p.m., and 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sat. Closed on Sun. Call 727-773-0842 to set an appointment, and walk-ins are always welcome!

Trinity Family Physicians Announces the First Recipient of the Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award Dr. Amir Shirmohammad and Dr. Stephanie Eldridge appreciate the great response to the inaugural Trinity Family Physicians’ Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. Trinity Family Physicians announced the Award in Neighborhood News & Lifestyles publications in July and now the physicians are excited to announce the first recipient of the Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. Dr. Shirmo (as his patients affectionately call him) presented Jim Carow with a beautiful gift basket donated from partnering sponsor Grille 54 that was filled with wine, cheese, crackers and of course, a gift certificate to enjoy a delicious dinner at Grille 54. Nominated for his volunteer work with the IWork program at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Jim Carow makes a difference in the lives of others here in Tampa Bay! Dr. Shirmo met with Jim Carow and his wife Mary to learn more about the volunteer work they do and he shared the reason that he and Dr. Eldridge created the Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. “My wife and I wanted to start a program where we

22

could give back for a worthwhile cause,” said Dr. Shirmo. “Dr. Eldridge said right away, ‘Why don’t we give out an award to people in our community who are making a difference in the daily lives of others?’ We both loved the idea!” Dr. Eldridge and Dr. Shirmo grew up in Tampa Bay, fell in love in Tampa Bay, went away to earn medical degrees together and then came back to the area to open a family medical practice and raise their own family. They look for ways to promote good in the community they love and though it has been a busy time for the husband-and-wife team – Dr. Eldridge just gave birth to their third daughter in August and Dr. Shirmo volunteers as one of the team physicians for his alma mater Jesuit High School – they still found a way to honor others who are making a difference with Trinity Family Physicians’ Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. There were some exceptional nominees and it wasn’t an easy decision for Trinity Family Physicians but they kept coming back to one email

with a nominee who seemed to exemplify everything that the Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award is meant to represent. Wendy McDonnell wrote, “I would like to nominate Jim Carow for your Tampa Dr. Shirmohammad (L) presents Jim Carow (R), the first Bay Making a recipient of the Tampa Bay Making a Difference Award, with a Difference Award. ing to find the best career fit for each individual. Without IWork and Jim, there would be more hopeless people unemployed in our community, that’s why he should win your next award.”

Jim Carow Makes A Difference in Tampa Bay! Jim Carow makes a lasting difference in the lives of others by teaching them invaluable job-seeking skills, but he is humble about his involvement with Idlewild Baptist Church’s IWork program, saying, “I don’t do this alone! We have phenomenal volunteers who have been helping from day one.” The IWork program was started more than six years ago. One of the pastors came to Jim, who had a long career in recruiting for the healthcare industry, and asked him to help start a program that would focus on helping people who were actively seeking a job. While IWork does not find jobs for people, it does offer fellowship along with a workshop that teaches networking and interviewing skills. Pastor Phillip Hanes said of Jim Carow, “He is a fine man and there is a great team of volunteers who work with him. We are very thankful for this program, which hosts 25 to 60 people every Monday night.” Jim can’t say enough about the

volunteers (some first came to the group seeking help) who put so much heart into the IWork program that it has morphed into much more than a workshop. It is fellowship and caring. “When we had our first meeting, we thought it would be about strategy, networking, Linked In…and we do all that, but it is so much more. The methods we teach work at all levels. We have all kinds of people from physicians to 19-year-olds wanting to find summer jobs. We just give people hope.” He recalls the early planning of IWork with a laugh, “When they said we have to feed people, I said, ‘Do we really have to? Does every Baptist function have to include feeding people? Can’t we just teach them?’ But they were right. I realized early on that for some, this was their only meal of the day. We’ve got stories that will melt your heart and we’ve got stories that will send you to the moon.” The IWork program has built in a couple of traditions. Every year they have an “Office Party” Christmas Party and put Publix gift cards under the tree. Jim recalls one young woman who had lost her car and was losing her house; she was depressed and almost didn’t come to IWork’s office party when she got the voicemail but decided to ride her bike. Jim recalled,

East Lake Area Neighborhood News & Lifestyles

“She burst into tears upon opening her card and finding that she had $25 for food. She said, ‘This will last me a week!’ And then a man walked over to her and handed her his Publix gift card.” Remarkable! Another tradition happened purely by accident. Sharon had been looking for a job for two years when she decided to go to IWork on Monday nights. After a couple of meetings, she got a job and to celebrate, bought a cake with her first paycheck and brought it in to share with the group. Someone brand new to the group that night got a job the same week and thought it was what everyone did so he showed up with a cake the next week. A tradition of celebration was born, and hope carries on at IWork. Dr. Shirmo asked Jim Carow if there was anything he’d like to see happen from the exposure of winning the Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. His answer was much the same as Pastor Hanes – that other churches and organizations will offer the same types of support for those sincerely seeking gainful employment. Jim pointed out that there are other churches in the area that have similar programs. Log on to Idlewild.org for more information about the IWork program at Idlewild Baptist Church.

Clearwater Lady Bombers Hit it Hard in 2015 and Come Out Champions! The Clearwater Lady Bombers is a non-profit organization that provides young ladies from all over the state of Florida (including some from right here in Trinity), ages 8 -18, with a place to play the game they love. Softball is their game, but to be a Lady Bomber means you participate in community service events such as the Toys for Tots and the Challenger Jamboree. The Toys for Tots event is held in November and benefits the less fortunate children who might not otherwise be able to receive gifts at Christmas. In the past five years the Lady Bombers have supported more than 300 children through this program. The Challenger Jamboree is an annual softball tournament that pairs up a Lady Bomber with a special needs athlete for a day of fun on the field. The Bomber parents also volunteer for special events that the City of Clearwater puts on such as the various music festivals at Coachman Park.

This year has been especially good for the Clearwater Lady Bombers organization with accomplishments all around, including: • 8U (Avila) Bombers were the NSA B World Series Champions • 10U (Barber) Bombers were NSA & USSSA State Champions and finished 4th in the World Series at Disney • 12U (Pentz) Bombers have made the championship in 7 out of 12 tournaments • 14U (King) Bombers won NSA A States as a young team playing up an age group, and finished 5th in the NSA A world series in Chattanooga TN • 14U (Perez) Bombers, a newly restructured team, has been in the finals 2 out of 3 tournaments • 16U (Sladden) Bombers were State Champions • 16U (Platt) Bombers finished 3rd in the NSA A World Series in Chattanooga, TN • 16U (Mason) Bombers won a

“As a parent of one of these young Bomber players I would like to tell you more about the Bombers 10U (Barber) team,” says Tammy N. “Through the Clearwater Lady Bombers Organization and under the leadership of manager Angie Barber and coaches AJ and his daughter Raven Johnson, the 10U team has become State Champions in both the NSA and the USSSA this year. These volunteer coaches have taught these girls how to work together and respect each other’s differences. They have taught them about good sportsmanship and to learn from each loss, how to accept criticism and encourage each other during difficult times. Also,

lessons learned on the field will help them deal with more difficult circumstances in the future when they are off of the softball field.” The 10U team met the Mayor of Clearwater on August 6, 2015 at the Town Council meeting in recognition of all the accomplishments these young ladies have achieved.

We handle about 700 cases a year.” I can tell you, from my own personal experience, that Dr. Landon and his staff truly are amazing. From day one, his staff went above and beyond to provide me with a personalized experience and did a great job of making me feel comfortable and relaxed. From my first consultation, where the staff was very thorough and actually listened to what I had to say, to the night of the operation where Dr. Landon called me at home to see how I was doing, to the months following the operation, where Dr. Landon and his staff did an excellent job making sure everything progressed and healed right, Landon Plastic Surgery really has set the bar with how patients should be treated. “We do take care of our patients and I do think we offer that extra level

of service,” says Cheryl. “I almost think we nurture patients. We have an amazing, amazing staff. They are all truly wonderful. We really care about our patients and our patients know that. They almost feel part a part of the family.” World-Class Technology Using the newest, most innovative technology, Dr. Landon’s 3D breast imaging machine allows patients to see exactly what their implants are going to look like before the surgery, and gives them the opportunity to “try out” different sizes to see what will look best on their body and what size will give them the desired outcome that they hope to achieve. Dr. Landon says, “We offer patients the ability to take a virtual road trip with different size implants to see how the implants are going to look on their body. This has really done a great job of alleviating the anxiety.” The newest in patient-centered advancements, Landon Plastic Surgery has recently introduced Touch MD to their practice. Interactive software for patient education, Touch MD, as like the 3D breast-imaging machine, gives patients the opportunity to experience the closest thing they can to having surgery, before the

actual surgery. By uploading a picture of the patient’s target area to the software, Dr. Landon is able to show his patients where the incisions are going to be made, as well as the projected outcome as to what that area will look like post-surgery. “This gives patients a sense of familiarity, making them feel comfortable about their decision,” says Dr. Landon. “It is a great teaching tool, and my patients end up leaving with a solid education of what we hope to accomplish surgically, as well as an enhanced piece of mind in knowing they know what to expect before, during and after the surgery; helping their decision to choose our office an easy one.” When asked his favorite part about what he does, Dr. Landon replied, “Being able to take body images that people find distasteful or aging and give them a positive body image change. People have a wide range of expectations and if you are really going to be successful you have to listen to your patients and deliver what they want. I think that is what really sets us apart. I look at every person that comes in here as family and give them the same treatment as I would if it were my mother or my daughter.”

We also have a changing room, a full shower, spa robes and spa socks. It’s not just about the skin; it’s about making sure that our clients are extremely pampered while they are here. Bring a Buddy and Receive 50% off a Full Spa Service! I’m sure we all know a few friends and family members that could use a little pampering. So, why not refer them to The Spa Boutique, especially since through their Bring a Buddy Program, for every new client that you refer, both you and your guest will receive 50% off any one of their full spa services. This program is good for as many times as you bring a new client. “We have people that come in every month and never pay full price because each month they send someone new in,” says Kim. The Spa Boutique offers a variety of unique facials, as well as body wraps, waxing and massages. Kim says, “All of four facials are customized to the clients. Because of this, we have several different skin care lines – we offer everything from physician-grade skin care products to an organic line – which we use based upon the individual needs of the client.” All of their full (60-minute) services include a complimentary snack tray consisting of gelato, cheese and crackers and a homemade truffle (handmade by Cheryl herself), a beverage, and time

in the Serenity Room – a relaxing room, where guests can kick back and unwind before their appointment. The Spa Boutique also has a retail boutique, which carries a variety of jewelry, glasses, dresses, purses, bath sponges, robes and more. In much need of some pampering myself, after talking to Kim, I decided to set up an appointment to get a facial. Sonia was my aesthetician and, wow, the facial was wonderful! After an hour of pampering – which included a much-needed shoulder and hand massage – I slowly awakened from my relaxing trance and left The Spa Boutique with beautifully glowing skin! Immediately after my appointment, I was already booked for my next visit and I even booked one for my husband – a first time client. If you are in need of some divine indulgence, come on in to The Spa Boutique, and don’t forget – bring a friend! The Spa Boutique is located at 1813 Wellness Lane in Trinity.
