Toast of Tampa Prepares for Las Vegas This Fall and Annual Show at USF Toast of Tampa Show Chorus and chapter quartets Windsor and Monarch are competing on the International stage in Las Vegas this October 6-10. The 140-member championship chorus, which brought home 3rd place International medals in 2013, has been working all summer to polish new songs to present to worldwide audiences in Vegas. GriefShare – Helping to Overcome The Loss Of A Loved One GriefShare will begin at Lake Magdalene UMC, 2902 W. Fletcher Ave., will begin on Tuesday, Sept.1 at 6:30 p.m. and will continue for 13 weeks on Tuesdays in room 310 of the CEC Building. Sessions consist of a video and discussion. A "life book" contains topics that participants can think over during the week. All will be grieving the death of a loved one as they struggle with the everyday issues of life. vance,” says Kim. “We look at key times of the year and set goals that we hope to accomplish. Each fitness program is sectioned off into 6-12 week training blocks, which focus on perfecting a specific muscle group or fitness component, such as endurance, glute development, power lifting etc.” “Before coming up with new programs we brainstorm and do research for work outs that will work best for the members we have,” says Nichole. “Our work outs are very thought out and methodical.” This training method really is incredible when you think about it. What Nichole and Kim are doing is allowing you to maximize your potential for each separate muscle group or bodily component, so when combined together with each unique block of training, you are working towards attaining absolute optimal body function and strength as a whole. Their Personal Record board is a testament to that! “Last week every single one of our members set a new personal record,” says Kim. “It’s something like that that makes me really love what I do. I love bringing out that potential in someone.” Tampa Bay Athletics offers six group classes a day, the earliest starting at 5:15 a.m., and the latest at 6:15 p.m. Members can go to as many group fitness classes a week as they want. “Our class sessions are designed so that you can take the novice to the most experienced competitor and have them work out in the same class,” says Randy. “Each session has three different levels depending on your capabilities. Every work out you do you customize to your own abilities. The difference between good and great is the effort you put into it!” Their group classes include a variety of different exercises, all of which focus on enhancing your inner athlete. Exercises include, general athletic preparation, Olympic lifting and power lifting, endurance training, and competitive functional training. Randy says, “Everything we do involves more than just the exercise of training a specific muscle group, it’s about the functionality and movements that you use in everyday life.” In addition to group classes, Tampa Bay Athletics also offers one-
on-one personal training sessions, an has select open-gym times throughout the week and all day on Saturday, where members can come in and work out by themselves – although a trainer is always at hand should they ever need assistance or have any questions.
