Boys and Girls Lacrosse Coming to Selected Pasco County High Schools Pasco County Lacrosse Alliance (PCLA) announces an agreement with Pasco County Public Schools to manage the transition of high school boys and girls lacrosse from a club sport to an FHSAA-sanctioned sport beginning with the 2017-2018 spring season. Lacrosse is among the fastest-growing sports with youth and high school athletes today, and participation has grown to over 10,000 High School boys and girls within Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) schools. “With some area high schools joining the FHSAA in the sport of lacrosse within Pasco County will be a huge step in growing the sport of lacrosse in Florida,” said David Mazursky, President of PCLA. “Our neighbors in Hillsborough County took that step a few years ago, and we’re looking forward to offering boys and girls attending Pasco Schools the opportunity to play lacrosse for their high schools. Authentic Concepts Kitchen & Bath Design Gets Straight A’s on this Remodel and Redesign! Sharon and Andy wanted a dreamy, spacious master bathroom, and realized it would never happen in their 25-year-old space without the help of an expert. So they visited the stunning showroom at Authentic Concepts Kitchen & Bath Design in Palm Harbor, where ideas are in full bloom and expert design help is the standard. Conveniently located at 3265 Tampa Road at the Shoppes at Clover Place (near Mystic Fish restaurant), Authentic Concepts Kitchen & Bath Design is owned and operated by Glenn Rumer, a Florida licensed contractor (#C-11019) with 17 years of experience in kitchen and bath remodeling, with the last 12 years being here in the Tampa Bay Area. Glenn and his team, Gina Rumer and Designers Rebecca Peake, Emily Miller and Wendy Hilton, specialize in creating custom spaces, and have the skill and knowledge to take on any kitchen or bathroom-remodeling project, no matter how intensive. Glenn says, “I try to see the best potential

the space has, not only for design, but for functionality. I believe you need to marry those two in order to have a beautiful and functional kitchen or bathroom. Not one that is just a showcase, but that you can enjoy.” He certainly made Sharon and Andy happy! Though impressed with Authentic Concepts Kitchen & Bath Design, the couple wanted to explore

their options. Sharon wrote about her experience in July this year, sharing, “I obtained several quotes for the work performed, which included a total new design in the master bath. The bathroom had a funky, large wasted space area that was a design challenge. Glenn and Authentic Concepts came up with a great plan, took our input and built on that. They are creative and more importantly, focus on providing value for your dollars spend. (One of my quotes for nearly the exact thing was $20,000+ more AND that company

has spotty reviews!!) The work was performed on time and Glenn was on the job constantly, checking and double-checking to make certain all was well. “We had one ‘oops’ in that after the platform tub was removed, the hole under that was much deeper than anyone expected. That created a delay (had to get a concrete truck to pout LOTS of concrete in there to fill it up) but Glenn had his workers triple timing to catch back up to the original schedule! There was constant communication between Glenn, his workers and with us – no surprises, no delays. After all was installed, I changed my mind (lots of women will understand). Glenn bent over backward to make the changes and have some of the tile replaced and redone. And his fee to do so was extremely reasonable – I’ll bet he lost money on something that was absolutely not his fault!!!” Sharon continues, “Authentic Concepts also redid our laundry room and we LOVE the changes. I’ve built two houses from scratch over the years and done a lot of remodeling as we’ve moved quite a bit so am well aware of the good, the bad, and the worst ever. His design was creative, very workable, very affordable, with quality products. The workmanship is excellent. The pricing remained as agreed to (except for my big Change Order) and no hidden surprises at the end. Communication was excellent throughout.” Sharon and Andy’s final review: • Overall A • Price A • Quality A • Responsiveness A • Punctuality A • Professionalism A ative use of a shelf on which the washer/dryer now sit (instead of those $500 platform drawers) has opened up much additional storage, looks wonderful and gets a lot of… ‘I wish

Hire Wiseman Tax & Bookkeeping for Tax Preparation, Payroll and Peace of Mind By Julie Kanehl Hiring an accounting professional who specializes in tax can be a game changer. It’s an amazing way to take charge of your personal or professional finances, and take the confusion out of taxes, bookkeeping and payroll. More than that, a professional can save you money and time, and foresee problems before they arise. Which begs the question, why do you struggle to do this on your own? Wiseman Tax & Bookkeeping is local, highly qualified and passionate about what they do, allowing you to concentrate on what you or your small business does best. Wiseman’s goal is to “maintain the highest ethical standards and carry out our tax and bookkeeping responsibilities with diligence, commitment and competence.” Let the Experts at Wiseman Do Your Taxes! More affordable than you think and worth every penny, Wiseman Tax & Bookkeeping is owned by Karen Wiseman, EA. The EA stands for Enrolled Agent, commonly referred to as “America’s Tax Experts.” In fact, Enrolled Agents are the only federally licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. This is quite an impressive credential, as an EA’s license is not limited to individual states. They can represent and prepare returns in all 50 states. To stay on top of the ever changing tax code, Enrolled Agents must complete a significant amount of continuing education each year in tax. What this means to you, is that if you
14
have a tax concern that you don’t understand, not only can Wiseman explain it, but with your permission, she can go as far as representing you in front of the IRS. This can be a huge relief for the thousands? millions? of people who receive confusing correspondence from the IRS each year. Many people find out that they owe money, but aren’t sure why. At Wiseman Tax & Bookkeeping, time is taken to explain what is going on in detail, doing the research and walking you through your options. Additionally, Karen’s background includes many years as a Controller, Accounting Manager, overseeing Human Resources, and Payroll. Passionate about what she does, Wiseman took the extra steps to earn the NTPI Fellow designation, which means she has completed a three-level program of study that covers all facets of representing clients before the IRS. She is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), the current Membership and previous Audit Chairperson for the Florida State Enrolled Agents (FSEA), and is the President of the Suncoast Chapter of Enrolled Agents which is the local Tampa Bay chapter. Expertise is important, but Karen Wiseman brings something else to the table! She is an approachable professional who has raised four children and understands what it’s like to have a family, to work hard, and to run a small business. On top of her experience and expertise, she is someone you can trust with your finances, someone who honors confidentiality to the highest degree, and she truly enjoys working with people.

How much easier would your life be, if you had someone like Wiseman on your team to comb through the tax maze? While many people dread tax season, Wiseman says, “I absolutely love working with clients to ensure they pay the least amount possible!” Adding, “I work with people who come in with all different kinds of situations. Some have years of unfiled tax returns, estate returns, they could have rental properties, they might be corporation owners, LLCs and sole proprietors with a shoebox full of receipts, we help them all through the process, and explain to them what their options are.” Wiseman offers a free consultation to anyone who is interested in using their services, and encourages her clients to come in early and not wait until April. All new clients are interviewed to determine their tax situation and are required to include three years’ previous tax returns along with their paperwork. This allows Wiseman to see if there have been any items

den of keeping up with the payroll and employer taxes, allowing you to concentrate on growing your business, whatever that may be. While many small businesses are in the throes of creating a business that is successful, they often miss the crucial details of keeping accurate accounting records. With Wiseman, small businesses can pay for their bookkeeping services on a monthly, quarterly, or on an asneeded basis, making it easy to stay on top of things. Offering payroll services for small businesses or working with a third party on your behalf, Wiseman Tax & Bookkeeping will ensure that all quarterly returns are completed and filed on time, including payroll tax deposits. This can be a huge relief for small business owners and can save money in the long run. Wiseman says, “The level of our involvement is geared to your individual business needs and reporting obligations.” Adding, “We conduct an extensive interview to get to know your business to determine what
would work best for you.” “Karen’s attention to details is unmatched,” states Russell L. of Florida Window Films. “As a small business owner she relieves the pressure of the small details that are so important to running a business. I honestly don’t know what I would do without her. She is always available via email or phone with quick, thorough and knowledgeable responses. I would absolutely recommend Wiseman Bookkeeping to anyone needing tax prep or bookkeeping.” More than a one-time preparer, a real tax professional will work with you throughout the year, not just during tax season. They can advise you on planning issues, business assets, lease or purchase of vehicles, reasonable compensation and even health insurance. She says, “Many people who took part in the ACA Obama Care subsidy don’t realize that if they have a change in their income throughout the year, they need to notify Healthcare.gov to ensure there are no surprises at tax time especially if you are
receiving a subsidy. The premium subsidy amounts are based on your projected income and family size for the year. If that changes, you could end up paying a portion of the subsidy back or not receiving enough throughout the year. This is all reconciled on your tax return.” If you are looking for an independent bookkeeper, an expert in tax or someone to help you understand an IRS notice, call Wiseman Tax & Bookkeeping. October 15th is the deadline to file all tax returns on extension for the 2015 season! Wiseman Tax & Bookkeeping is located at 7747 Mitchell Boulevard, Suite C, in Trinity. For more information, visit www.wisemantax.com, or call 727-372-3244 to schedule your free consultation.
Wiseman’s Tax Tips • Contributing to retirement accounts can help lower your tax liability • Save all receipts from your home purchase and improvements in a permanent file • You are required to keep receipts for any cash donation exceeding $250 and non-cash exceeding $500 • All vehicles claimed on your return need a mileage log to substantiate the deduction. • The IRS will never call you on the phone to demand bill payment. Their initial correspondence will always be via mail.
Inspired Design Hair Studio – Artistry in Cuts & Color Inspired Design Hair Studio in Trinity is growing under the leadership of owner Pamela French, who is passionate about her trade and the talented stylists under her direction who use their gifts help each client become their most beautiful, individual, unique self. For Pamela, this is far more than a career; it is a way to help others to feel wonderful. Pamela says, “It is about them looking in the mirror and saying, ‘Wow, I look GREAT!’” For Pamela and the stylists at Inspired Design, each client gives them an opportunity to express their artistry. She continues, “The cut is picture we draw and texture is like shading it in, while color brings our designs to life in a very individual way.” Inspired Design stylists use Rusk Deep Shine Conditioning Cream Advanced Therapy Hair Color (a mouthful, but Pam says that is for a great reason). “So many people have allergies to gluten, and even worse is corn, so we researched into the ingredients to be sure our hair color is safe for those clients,” says Pamela. The Rusk color line used at the salon is PPH-free, paraben-free, and free of corn by-products, and the Advanced Marine Nutrient Complex repairs the hair shaft, while giving 100% gray coverage and impeccable shine. Pamela adds, “Another plus for us as artists is that it’s a pure tone, preblended color line that gives colorists the ability to take base colors and create a complete world of colors. The joke for us is that, ‘Our box of crayons just got bigger!’ We can create more than 100 different shades of red alone! You can only imagine the reds, coppers, browns and blondes we are able to create in order to honor each client’s individual look.” For the client, the most important thing to know is that the hair color line used at Inspired Design has a mere 2% of ammonia because of the advanced micro-pigment technology that allows the color to penetrate the hair shaft without blowing the cuticle open and damaging the hair. It also creates a longer lasting color because the color molecules aren’t battling for space with other elements, even something as simple as moisture. “Science is a huge part of color, which is another reason we choose the product lines we use and carry,” says Pamela. “Science, mixed with art, mixed with education,

equals amazing stylists and beautiful clients. We love Rusk because it stands behind Salon owners and professional stylists in a strong, beautiful way by offering constant education to us. This is so important because styles and technology are always changing. Even when the older era styles come back around, it is always done in a new, creative way.” A prime example of trends changing is in the popularity of vibrant, fun colors, which Pamela has been wearing in different ways and shades (mostly pinks) for over 15 years. And, is there anything new for blondes? Pamela says, “And yes to our beautiful blondes out there! We have you covered as well by choosing lighteners that will lift without destroying the hair. Healthy, beautiful hair is our goal, and yes, even the patterns and trends for blondes continue to change – from highlights to balayage, and baby lights to ombre – but with our ongoing education with Rusk, we stay at the forefront of the industry. We strive to take advantage of as many hands-on color and cutting classes as possible. Our goal is one class every six months (for each stylist).” Men’s styling also is on point at

Inspired Design. “Men’s hair designs have had a huge change, something that hasn’t happened since the midnineties,” says Pam. Men’s designs were the focus for the Inspired Design team at the hair show this year. “We are so excited to see all the amazing new trends in men’s designs that we focused all of our classes on exactly that: Men’s Design and products as well as upcoming trends for men.” Products for Home Hair Care A lot of research was taken into consideration when choosing Rusk for Inspired Design’s color line because Pam wanted to offer clients exquisite, rich color without unnecessary harmful additives. The same consideration has been given to the retail products available at Inspired Design. The shampoos, conditioners and design products have been carefully chosen, and science-based, with a varied selection to meet every clients’ specific hair care and styling needs. Not only does the stylists help clients find the prod-

ucts that help them get the look at home that was created in the salon, but when the salon restocks, it earns them education points, enabling them to continually strive to be better for clients. Pam suggests you look at it this way. “If your hair is the outfit you wear every day and you spend money on a perfect design, just for you, think of it like a beautifully tailored dress or suit – would you take that home and wash it with dish soap? The same concept applies to your specially designed hair color so we specifically chose shampoos and conditioners that support longevity of color and health of the hair and scalp. As for styling products, we choose products to support the design we created just for you in order to achieve the same look at home. We specifically pick and use them in the salon so we know if it will work perfectly for you before you buy it. Not all gels and putties are the

to us. “So even when it comes to the pricing of our services here at Inspired Design, it is carefully done and we strive to keep humble in our pricing. Our goal is to balance our love for what we do, using our talents to help others feel beautiful, while still having the ability to support ourselves and our families.”
Adam Hicks is a new team member who also is a Redken educator same, and you will actually save money by not playing grocery-store-roulette. Another important factor in choosing products is that we are always focused on the perfect product first, and cost effectiveness second, but always keeping our clients budgets in mind is key
Strength in Giving Pamela feels very grateful to her clients for their wonderful support. When she decided she wanted to do some mission work and vowed to give up smoking – they cheered her on! Recently, the work and dedication paid off when Pamela had the opportunity to share her knowledge with others across the globe in Uganda where she went on a mission trip with a group from her church, Grow Life Church in Wesley Chapel, to The Light Village, which is run by One City Ministries. With love and support behind her, Pamela is

You’re going to Africa so don’t smoke!” And her clients helped! Gifts of giraffes kept pouring in to keep her motivated. “Ultimately,” says Pamela, “it was as if each person who helped support me, came along on the trip with me in some way.” Clients wrote words of encouragement and bible verses on cards that were super special to Pamela because they became birthday well wishes as she celebrated her birthday in Uganda. He took his time to explain the situation and was patient in answering ALL of our questions. He is an honest businessman, tough to find in this day and age. I confirmed EVERYTHING he said with a friend in the AC business up north and it was all on point. We had him install a complete new Rheem 3.5 ton system. His install team was very courteous, worked quickly and was neat. The final product looks great (I am a neat freak) and keeps our home COLD!! I would recommend Air Hawk to all friends and clients.” Joanna S. shares, “Great and timely service, affordable prices and great customer service. My husband and I were very pleased. Medical Center of Trinity’s Women’s Imaging Center Superior 3D Imaging and a Team to Support You By Kim Thomas Early detection is the best defense against breast cancer, so if you’ve been putting off your yearly mammogram because you dread the experience of sitting in a large lobby with 20 other people who are waiting for imaging for everything from broken arms to kidney stones, then make an appointment at the Women’s Imaging Center at Medical Center of Trinity. Don’t wait for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, do it today and mark that mammogram off your to-do list. Located on the 4th floor of the Medical Arts Building at Medical Center of Trinity on State Road 54, the Women’s Imaging Center makes it easy to get in and out for your appointment, offering all imaging services daily, and the space is quiet and comfortable. But most importantly, the Women’s Imaging Center provides patients with superior imaging technology and a comprehensive breast care team that is focused on providing exceptional, well-rounded care to every patient, whether providing patient education, simple screening mammograms or bone density tests, or supporting patients through biopsy, breast surgery and reconstruction. The team even has a Breast Patient Navigator to guide patients and their families to the emotional support that is often needed when dealing with serious health issues. Imaging services offered at the Women’s Imaging Center include: 2D and 3D Mammography, Breast Ultrasound including UltrasoundGuided Biopsy, Breast MRI including Breast Biopsy, Minimally Invasive Core Biopsies, Stereotactic Biopsy, Lymphoscintigraphy, Bone Densitometry, and Ultrasound Biopsy. Dede Dickinson is the Director of Imaging Services and is dedicated to making sure that the Women’s Imaging Center has the latest technology for imaging, such as the Genius™ 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™. This 3D imaging enables the team’s radiologist, Albert Chang, MD, PhD, to examine breast tissue layer by layer. So, instead of viewing all of the complexities of your breast tissue in a flat image, as with conventional 2D mammography, fine details are more visible and no
26
longer hidden by the tissue above or below. Considered a breakthrough in the early detection of breast cancer, the FDA-approved and tested 3D Mammogram is clinically superior to the 2D exam, detecting 41% more invasive breast cancers and reducing false positives by up to 40%. “As a radiologist, I am excited to use this technology,” says Dr. Chang. “It completes our repertoire of imaging tools, making us even more comprehensive.” While 2D mammogram technology is recommended for most screenings, women who have very dense breast tissue, implants, or scar tissue may benefit from the 3D Mammogram. It’s reassuring that both are available, and if any other imaging is needed, it is right there. “If we do a conventional mammogram and see an area we aren’t sure about, I can order additional imaging right away, whether it is the 3D mammogram, ultrasound or MRI,” explains Dr. Chang. “And if a patient needs a biopsy, they are turned over to meet with the surgeon. Patients have told me that because we can provide for every need they have and a quicker way to an answer, just that alone gives them reassurance. We don’t want patients to have to anxiously wait for days or weeks for results.” Alene Wright, MD (*one of the breast surgeons on the team I was able to speak with) adds, “You can’t have a comprehensive breast care program without a team that includes a radiologist, a pathologist and a surgeon.” That is what is wonderful about the Women’s Imaging Center at Medical Center of Trinity – patients not only have the best imaging available, but if a biopsy or surgery is needed, it is beneficial that there is a team already in place in the same building who love working together for fast diagnoses and treatment. A skilled breast surgeon, Dr. Wright adds, “We are here for patients every step of the way. We can take care of any breast cancer here. It’s important for people in this area to know that they don’t have to go elsewhere – we have a solid cancer program right here in this community.” [*Note: Medical Center of Trinity has several skilled physicians who provide care to the patients in the

Several members of the Comprehensive Breast Care team at Medical Center of Trinity Comprehensive Breast Care program. This article reflects comments of team members who I was able to meet with.] The Women’s Imaging Center and Comprehensive Breast Care program is accredited by the American College of Radiology in MRI, US, CT, NM and mammography, and is a Certified Community Cancer Program by the Commission on Cancer. Ivy Landell, RN is the Breast Patient Navigator, which is an apt title for one whose job it is to make sure everything is “smooth sailing” for patients. She is available to answer any questions, aftercare and support group referrals. She says, “We have resources available to provide education, bras, prosthesis, wigs and emotional support.” Ivy also has referral sources to help uninsured women. “Women should not put off seeking breast health care because they don’t have insurance. Instead of sitting around ignoring symptoms, they should call and we will direct them where they need to go.” Screened and Fabulous! Penny Stevens is the Screened and Fabulous Coordinator for the Women’s Imaging Center and her job is to put some fun in the mammogram experience. Everything is easier with the support of friends – even mammograms! The Screened and Fabulous program is a great way to get your friends, coworkers, sisters and cousins to get a baseline mammogram screen-

ing. If you would like a pre-arranged time exclusively dedicated to you and your group of gals, contact Penny by phone at 727-834-4888 or email at medicalcentertrinity@hcahealthcare.co m to set up your Screened and Fabulous appointment, where wine and friendship make a party out of getting your yearly mammogram. In addition to duties related to the Screened and Fabulous program, Penny Stevens works to get insurance authorizations and helps to answer questions for patients regarding their insurance coverage for procedures. A Better Mammogram Experience! At 49, I’ve had a number of 2D mammograms, and in my case, a follow-up ultrasound has been ordered for the past several years, so when I learned about the 3D Mammogram technology now offered at the Women’s Imaging Center, I was all in – mostly because I was curious if better imaging technology would cut out another day of missed time at work for an ultrasound appointment. I am happy to report that one quick 3D mammogram appointment was all that was needed for Dr. Chang to give the all clear; Ivy gave me a call to let me know my scan was normal. Not only were the results fast, the Women’s Imaging Center knows how to treat a lady. It may be adjacent to a bustling hospital, but when you step into the Women’s Imaging Center, you are immediately greeted and, after some brief paperwork, invited to an interior waiting Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles
The above image shows the difference between a 2D Mammogram and a 3D Mammogram lounge where assorted teas, coffee, granola bars and Lorna Doone cookies are provided – perfect for days when there’s no time for breakfast (that was me, enjoying mango tea and cookies!) or for patients who have had to fast. The low lighting, soft music, and

cozy seating are more reminiscent of a spa appointment than an imaging appointment. Roomy private dressing rooms are provided for changing into the cozy (and even pretty) capes that open in the front but crisscross for full coverage. White cotton terry robes are
available as well, but I felt quite comfortable without the extra robe. Private lockers with keyed locks are available for belongings and the key is attached to a bracelet you can wear on your wrist. Mammography Technologist Jennifer Kriel was simply excellent! Her friendly manner puts one at ease and it is clear that she is experienced at making patients comfortable during the all-important positioning that comes along with a mammogram. Jennifer was gentle, kind and genuine. If you aren’t convinced yet to make that call for your yearly mammogram, it may help to know that the Women’s Imaging Center accepts most insurance plans and offers a $60 2D mammogram screening including the radiologists reading. And did you know you can have a Self-Referral Mammography Screening? Physician referrals are not required for screening mammograms, which are covered by Medicare and most private insurance plans. And for those without insurance, self-pay rates are available and the Breast Patient Navigator, Nurse Ivy, can direct you to the resources you need.

What people truly appreciate
32
about Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens is their commitment to providing a tender and compassionate hand in a time of need, while being wholly focused on their sacred duty in laying a loved one to rest. While the subject of planning a funeral is a topic that seems taboo, more and more people are seeing the benefit of having those conversations now instead of later, and in turn, relieving their loved ones of having to make difficult decisions while grieving. Meadowlawn provides families with a Personal Planning Guide to assist in making all of the decisions and desires known. The options now are many, and the decisions are much harder when trying to decide these things for someone else, especially if you haven’t talked about what their personal wishes. As a result, more and more people are pre-planning their arrangements in advance. As people take control of the inevitable, they find a sense of peace in writing the closing chapter

to their own story. There’s a sense of relief in knowing that everything is tended to, and in a way, it is a final gift to those they love. As more and more people have taken to making these decisions earlier, there’s been a trend towards holding a “celebration of life,”

as opposed to a traditional funeral home service, as many people don’t want their loved ones to mourn their passing, but to share stories about them, listen to their favorite music, and most of all, share warm memories of their time together.
Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles
Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens has gone the extra step to create a facility that caters to every type of service for those of all faiths, and for those who favor either the traditional or the unique, by creating a space that is customizable to your specific wishes. Offering catering services, and a beautiful space that is reminiscent of a wedding reception hall, the beautifully appointed facility can be decorated any way that you wish. Life Well Celebrated General Manager Karla MacLaren, PHR, says, “I believe the thing that makes us different is that we have remodeled the facility to partner with the families to celebrate the life of their loved one. In fact, ‘Life Well Celebrated’ is our company’s new initiative.” Adding, “When families come in and they have lost a loved one, we work with them to try to create a very meaningful life celebration. We ask them many questions about their loved ones. What brought them joy? What made them laugh? What did the perfect day look like for them? From there, we create something personal.” Karla explains that it is important
to them to take the time to talk to friends and families in order to create a truly special occasion that honors and celebrates the uniqueness of loved ones lost. “Part of this is the environment. In celebrating the life well lived, we provide round tables, which are more conducive to conversation and sharing, which can be healing during a time of loss,” says Karla. “We really focus on the memories of the families to create something much more holistic in nature.” Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens has created innumerable events, allowing families of all faiths to celebrate the life and mourn the loss of someone they love, in a way
that is personal, professional and unique. Elizabeth Brotman, said, “My mother’s funeral service was absolutely amazing and everything was perfect! I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to help my family with every detail of my mom’s service. The music, the flowers, the decorations, pictures, everything that helped celebrate my mother’s life in the most special way possible. Everyone that attended was commenting on what a beautiful service Meadowlawn had prepared for her and will be remembered. I will miss my mom forever and Meadowlawn made it special.” Know Your Options, Have the Talk, and Pre-Plan While this might not be your favorite topic of conversation, it could very well become the topic you wish you’d discussed. When someone you love passes away, there are a lot of decisions that need to be made, from the type of funeral service, to how they would like to be laid to rest. The lovely people at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens can help you make these decisions, and they are there for you every step of the way. When you are making these decisions for yourself, you are simply providing peace of mind to those you love and to yourself, knowing they can

then follow your instructions and be comforted by knowing that they are giving you the kind of closure that you would have wanted. Simple questions that can be easily answered can save your family heartache, so the first step is to think about the many options available to you, to make some decisions, and share what you’ve decided. Talk about what kind of service you would like, and if you would want a celebration of life, or a more traditional service. Do you prefer to be buried, and where? Or, perhaps you want to be buried but your spouse prefers cremation – there is still a way that you could rest together if it is preplanned. It’s a personal decision, and one that is hard to make for someone else. Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens has worked with many families throughout the years who have preferred to be laid to rest together, but in different ways, per their personal requests. Meadowlawn’s compassionate staff can help by clarifying and reserving your choices and documenting them, and they make the preplanning process as easy as possible. When the time comes, they can seamlessly put your plans into place, while helping your loved ones celebrate your life. In the event that pre-planning is not an option, the professional staff at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens are ready and on-call – in person, by phone, and online – to communicate with you and to offer you and your loved ones the help they need during a difficult time. “Laurie Neiman” Continued from page 1 putting their needs first. Laurie works diligently; returning calls, emails and texts as soon as possible because she knows communication is vital to a good relationship and a good transaction. Sellers love the dedication that Laurie displays when helping them to evaluate their home or property, and then working to promote it, stage it, and get the best price possible. Laurie works to have a multi-dimensional business model to help her clients gain an advantage over others on the market. She truly knows her business and as a top-producer for Florida Luxury Realty, Laurie Neiman has the sales to prove it. When working with clients buying a home or property, Laurie spends time to understand their unique needs so she can show them a number of properties that match their criteria to help them find the perfect home. She walks clients through the next steps of financing, inspections and the closing process, making sure the sale moves through in a timely manner. Laurie aims to keep communication moving

smoothly between the lender, buyer, seller, co-broker, inspectors, Title Company, and all service providers so she can make your home ownership dreams reality without any hassle. Laurie’s customer recently stated, “There aren’t enough people like you in this world, we just want to tell you that as far as we are concerned you are an angel on earth. Thanks for the little kindnesses that make this world a better place.” Laurie is very personal with her customers going above-andbeyond to make every detail of the transaction as smooth as possible. Nobody knows the Tampa Bay Area like Laurie Neiman! “Real Estate is in my heart and in my genes,” says Laurie, who grew up in the industry right here in the Tampa Bay Area. She was born in St. Petersburg and so were both of her daughters. Her mother, Marie Powell started her career in Real Estate when Laurie was five years old, and was to become one of most recognized names in Tampa Bay Real Estate. Laurie knew at a young age that she also wanted a career in Real Estate and earned her sales license by age 18. She continued her education further, obtaining her broker’s license, her B.A.

accomplish their Real Estate goals; whether it is selling, buying or renting, I am here for them.” Laurie strives to make a difference for each and every client, not giving up, just like the boy in the Starfish Story (written by Loren Eisley), a favorite of Laurie Neiman’s that offers a lesson she lives by. The boy in the story runs up and down the beach to return starfish to the sea as the tide keeps receding and a man points out to him that it is a hopeless task, as he can’t save them all. Putting another starfish into the ocean, helping it to find its way back home, the boy answered, “I made a difference to that one!” If you are looking for someone to help you with your Real Estate needs, let Laurie Neiman show you how she can make a difference for you and why her clients continue to give her five star reviews.
