Michael and Michelle bought a home in Westchase knowing that they would be remodeling the bathrooms. Though the home wasn’t old, it had basic contractorgrade plumbing fixtures, lackluster design, and the previous owners faltered on upkeep as well. The master bath had a major leak that even ruined the floors in the master bedroom. Michael searched Angie’s List and called several companies to come out and meet with them, but the stellar reputation of Yeager and Company stood out. When they met Yeager and Company’s Vice President Melanie Carter, who heads up the kitchen and bath remodeling division, their decision was made. Michelle shares, “When I met Melanie for the first time, I told my husband, “I want to go with them! Melanie is See “Yeager” on page 22.

The Man Cave Warehouse – The Game Room Starts Here! By Kim Thomas The Man Cave Warehouse, located at 8811 North Gunn Highway in Odessa, is the perfect place to shop for “Man Cave” furnishings, but this gal thinks the sign also should read “She Shed” because there is something for everyone here! The store may be housed inside a huge “manly” warehouse but inside it is gorgeous with hundreds of chandeliers and lighting fixtures (both indoor and outdoor) on display and wall-to-wall fun throughout the 5,000-sq.-ft. showroom, with everything you need to complete a game room that will bring years of entertainment! If you are considering adding a game room to your home or updating from the ping-pong table, then get over to The Man Cave Warehouse. Family owned and operated by the Klopf family since they opened the store in 1999, The Man Cave Warehouse delivers and sets up all over the state of Florida. “My son’s store may well be the largest in the

10

Southeast United States,” said Al Klopf, Sr., who is semi-retired but still works part-time at The Man Cave Warehouse in Odessa. It is possible to meet three generations of the Klopf family at the family-ran business. Al Klopf Jr. and his wife Jeroline own and oversee operations at the Odessa location, and their sons Carson, Cody and Canyon have grown up learning the business and helping customers. Candy is an employee whose hard work and knowledge are valued by the family and their customers. Al and Jeroline’s oldest son Carson is now the owner/operator of The Man Cave Warehouse in Orlando, which features a 3,000-sq.-ft. showroom. If you are looking for quality, white glove delivery and competitive prices, The Man Cave Warehouse is the place to shop. “We sell quality products at a great price and provide the best, personalized service in the industry,” says Al Jr. “We want to earn your business.” Canyon is the youngest of the Klopf clan, but this kid knows his

family’s business! Canyon’s enthusiasm was genuine as he pointed out the cool hidden features that many of the billiards tables and game room furnishings have – like the benches for the dining/billiards tables that provide storage for cues and racks and the billiards tables with hidden storage underneath for everything needed for the game, keeping your living space uncluttered.

OCTOBER 2016

First walking in to The Man Cave Warehouse, my eye was drawn to a pool table that was rustic, yet modern. Looking around, I realized there were three or four tables in that style alone. If your taste leans more classic or ornate, The Man Cave Warehouse has what you are looking for. Some brands offered include Legacy Billiards, Presidential Billiards, Olhausen Billards, California House, Outdoor

Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles

Billiards and Excaliber Billiards. Legacy Billiards has awarded The Man Cave Warehouse with its “Diamond Dealer” award for the past five years and running. There are gaming tables of every kind, including multipurpose dining/billiards tables that enable homeowners to transform their elegant dining room into an elegant billiards room, or if you’d prefer a dining/poker/craps table, you’ll find it at The Man Cave Warehouse! In addition to carrying the finest billiards tables in the world, The Man Cave Warehouse offers indoor and outdoor lighting, bars and

barstools, high-end ceiling fans and custom fans, dart boards and accessories, and décor for your game room. Bar signs run the gamut from neon, to classic, funny, and sports themed. The store is stocked for fun times! Al Sr. showed me the first allelectronic pinball machine, which boasts 426 different games!

The Man Cave Warehouse Earns Five Star Reviews Five star reviews are plentiful for The Man Cave Warehouse, and the excellent selection is another bonus! Whether you want to decorate a game

room with the finest new furnishings offered worldwide or would like to spend less and purchase a slightly used, quality table, be sure to visit The Man Cave Warehouse. Customer Dave Rose shares his five-star review, “Great selection of new and used pool tables. I purchased a used table, and they made sure it was in top shape. Brendan delivered and installed the table, including new felt, and he is clearly an expert at what he does. The table is perfect. The store has a great selection of “man cave” supplies... pretty much everything you need for billiards, darts, arcade games, furniture, lights, and lots of other great stuff. Prices seem competitive as well. Basically, good quality for a good price, and great service.” Steven Fisher, another customers that gives The Man Cave Warehouse a five star review, states, “First rate all the way! We furnished an entire billiard room and could not be happier. Everything looks awesome. The staff was very patient and helped us select all our custom pieces. Delivery was white glove all the way. We also came back and got a video game.”

Game Rooms Create Fun Times and Great Memories The Klopf family knows that playing pool, throwing darts, gathering at the card table is more than just fun and games; it’s a way to build personal skill, challenge your buddies, and most importantly, to bond with family and friends. Some of my favorite memories of visiting my grandparents were playing pool on Granddaddy Pat’s pool table. That pool table moved with him from Dover (near Plant City) to Apalachicola, and was a staple throughout my childhood into my adult years. During the happiest of times and the saddest, inevitably a game of pool would pull everyone together, either because we had our turn at playing or picked a side to root for. If you can create a game room for your family, it will pay you back in spades with good times! The Man Cave Warehouse is located at 8811 N. Gunn Hwy. in Odessa and is open from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Monday – Thursday, and from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Please call 813-792-9256 or log on to www.themancavewarehouse.com for more information.

Tarpon Springs High School Students Chosen to Perform in NYC in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Contributed by Libba Phillips Have you ever watched a performance of the highly acclaimed Cirque Du Soleil? It’s a colorful display of mesmerizing acrobatics, music, and dance that delights the senses with the synchronized movement of the performers that leaves you on the edge of your seat! “These kids could do that!” is what I’m thinking when I watch the incredibly talented Colorguard team of Tarpon Springs High School. Their performances are more like theatrical displays that dazzle crowds every weekend during high school football games, and at competitions throughout the state of Florida and around the country all year long. And only a hand selected few of those talented Tarpon Springs High School Colorguard students have been chosen from over 14,000 schools across the U.S., to be elite members of the 2016 MACY’S Great American Marching Band in the 90th Annual New York City Thanksgiving Day

12

Parade. What an incredible honor for these local students and community pride for Tarpon Springs and the state of Florida, with 25 students selected from Florida schools and 7 from Tarpon Springs High School! Ryan Tatum, the co-captain of the team, does extra homework for fun, and has plans to explore the medical field after high school, loves the thrill of performance and working towards a collaborative effort. Chelsea Earley, who took a leap of faith to change schools her senior year so she could have the opportunity to grow as a performer at Tarpon Springs, has a mind for engineering and math, and loves the challenge of the skilled precision required to be on the rifle line. Jill Ferrone, whose friends describe her as the ‘most loving and compassionate person,’ has plans to go into nursing after high school, is a graceful dancer who is thrilled about this ‘once in a lifetime’ chance to share her talents in the parade. Alex Bess, with her charming smile and passion for dance, has never

been on a plane before, but can hardly wait to travel to New York City with her best friends for this adventure! Hana Gleason, who is self-assured and desires to become an FBI agent someday, loves the exhilaration of performing and inspiring the crowd. [Editor’s Note: After this article was written and just before press date, we found out that two more students, Samantha Haag and Haleigh Elks, were chosen to represent the Tarpon Springs High School Color Guard in the 2016 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We regret we don’t have more information. Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles congratulates all of these hardworking high school students on their exceptional performance that has earned them this prestigious honor.] When I ask them why do they put in over 25 hours a week of practice (3 days a week after school for 4 hours! And all day on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-9 p.m.!) in addition to 7 classes a day and the intense course work and homework that comes along with that? They tell me because they

They also are committed to working as a team, becoming ‘their

best selves, and making their coaches and directors proud.’ I notice something else in these girls. I see our community’s future leaders…girls who not only inspire others but also by their dedication and commitment, show what’s possible when you put your mind to it and share your talents with the world. And on November 24th in New York City that is what they will get to do if we can help them get there! The trip will cost $2,000 per girl. That includes the cost of participation, a full week’s stay including meals and transportation, round-trip flights to New York City, their costumes, some sightseeing, and a leadership seminar. And while this is an incredible honor to be selected, the cost of the trip is not provided and these amazing kids need the community’s support to help

them achieve that. Picture this... it’s Thanksgiving morning in New York City. The air is crisp and cool, you can feel the excitement and joy of the crowd as you see the beginning of the procession that features giant balloons and larger than life characters, musical performances from Broadway shows, floats, celebrity appearances and others participating in this world renown event. As these girls step off from Central Park, the Band of 200 hand selected students from around the U.S. will be cheered by 3 million live spectators, before arriving at Macy’s Herald Square for their national performance for more than 50 million TV viewers watching the broadcast live on NBC. It will be a defining moment, the perfect orchestration of all their hard work to shine and represent their school and community in front of the world. Indeed, it will be the trip of a lifetime. Will you help these Tarpon Springs High School students get there? Please visit www.marchto2016macy.com to donate and learn more.

Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge, Protecting the Interests of Clients in Pasco for 45 Years By Kim Thomas Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge P.L. (WW&D), is in its 45th year as a law firm in Pasco County and has been a valuable resource for many individuals and families in the area by providing exceptional legal counsel regarding estate planning, elder law and real estate law, as well as legal services that benefit businesses such as corporate matters, asset protection, and tax reduction strategies. As our area continues to develop, it is good to know that the law firm that was one of the very first in the New Port Richey/Trinity Area is still standing strong and protecting the interests of an even broader scope of clients throughout Pasco, Northern Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge has fully staffed offices in Trinity and Palm Harbor and satellite offices in Carrollwood and Clearwater, making it very

convenient for clients. There comes a time when everyone needs a lawyer to help protect them – whether it is for business and real estate matters, or personal matters such as wills and trusts, or most important, making sure wishes are known and followed as far as the care and guardianship of children in the event of the death of both parents. Not easy to think about, but it is irresponsible not to think of these things. “I have worked with three generations of some families,” says Attorney David Wollinka, who joined his father’s law firm in 1987, after earning his Juris Doctorate degree in 1986 from University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. David’s father, Attorney Jerome Wollinka, started the law firm in a rented building in 1971 in New Port Richey, when the area now known as Trinity was farmland and pastures. new building in February 2015. Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge continues to put their clients’ interests first, and is currently installing upgraded technology that better allows them to fully integrate the multiple offices, and the cutting edge technology makes their clients information more secure than ever. Like David, a Florida native who graduated high school in Tarpon Springs, Ryan grew up with sand in his shoes from beautiful St. Petersburg. these attorneys, who have families of their own, and they truly understand what is at stake when helping families to protect their assets. Having worked with so many different clients throughout the years, they have seen what can happen when circumstances change and legal documents aren’t modified quickly. Family dynamics change, and the decisions that were originally made may need to be changed as well and it’s important to notify your attorney. “Every five years, we offer free reviews to our clients where we discuss any change of circumstance and if there needs to be any changes in who you’ve designated as your fiduciaries. They also provide services with regard to Medicaid, incapacity planning, and special needs trusts, and much more. Whether you’d like to make a simple will for your family, create a trust for your children, or divide a complicated estate, Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge can help you protect your wishes, your dignity, your legacy, and even minimize stress for your loved ones. Another area of interest that Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge are keeping a close eye on for clients are

the inevitable changes in tax laws that will happen regardless of who wins the Presidency. “We anticipate substantial changes to estate planning due to expected changes in the tax laws after the election,” says Attorney David Wollinka. “We have a list of clients that we are now identifying that may need an update to their documents.” Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge, Your Ally in Real Estate, Corporate Matters & Asset Protection With the growth in our area, there are many Real Estate transactions taking place and if you are considering buying, selling or leasing residential or business property, Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge should be on your radar. “Oftentimes, if people would just reach out to us before signing documents, it could have saved them thousands of dollars,” says Attorney Doddridge. “With both buyers and sellers, one of the things we find is that people will avoid seeing an attorney even for basic information and it ends up costing thousands more because now they are in litigation rather than negotiation.” Entrepreneurs work hard to build up their businesses, so it is imperative that those businesses are protected – that means separating your personal finances from your business finances, so that something that happens personally or at home doesn’t affect the business and vice versa. Many good people have lost more than their business from a lawsuit stemming from some-

thing that happened at their company. It’s best to be prepared, and to have attorneys like Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge at your side. While there’s no way to predict the future, they can help you protect your assets. In addition to the attorneys at Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge, the staff is also knowledgeable and dedicated to clients. Whether you’re looking towards the future, protecting what you have, or building a business, it’s important to have a reputable law firm by your side to represent you, protect your assets, and guide you through the complicated and changing laws. Go with the law firm that has built its reputation by providing legal counsel backed by experience, integrity and dedication for 45 years – make an appointment with the attorneys at Wollinka, Wollinka & Doddridge. Financials At A Fraction: Accounting Results Without the Hassle at a Fraction of the Cost By Melissa Mcenerney To the average person, accounting is far more than just an effortless process of tracking, documentation and record-keeping. A standard Google search revealed that the words “accounting is,” often preceded the words “stressful” or “harder than engineering.” As a business owner, there is one sure way to avoid adopting a similar outlook. Hiring Dawn Fischer will help you reclaim control of your company's accounting, while witnessing substantial reductions in your business’s internal costs related to salary, payroll taxes, health insurance and other employee related fees. Dawn’s New Tampa based business, Financials At A Fraction, assists with accounting, bookkeeping, QuickBooks and financial reporting accuracy. She brings to her business 26+ years of accounting experience including 15 years of self employment, 4 years of public accounting, and 7

years of private accounting. Dawn is a true Floridian, having lived in Florida her entire life, and currently lives in the New Tampa Area. She is the proud mother of 2 UF Gator graduates. Her oldest son, 27, went on to graduate from UCLA Law School, and is currently an entertainment attorney at 20th Century Fox in L.A. Her youngest son, 25, is currently traveling the world and creating new adventures. Dawn is happily married to Chris Fischer. He owns a successful franchise, Lawn Doctor of Zephyrhills, Land O Lakes. Dawn and Chris enjoy their weekends together golfing and spending time at the beach. Accounting came almost instinctively to Dawn, who eagerly helped her mother with the bookkeeping portion of her business. After the birth of her youngest son, Dawn took on an entrepreneurial role, starting her own company, Worth Your Dough Inc., which manufactured upscale bedroom furniture and

accessories and sold to children’s furniture stores throughout the country. The company’s accounting and payroll needs were taken care of solely by Dawn for 15 years. She decided to embark on a new direction, and leave manufacturing. She began working as an Accounting Manager for a commercial air filtration and engineering company. While employed there, Dawn turned their accounting department around and made the business’s software more user friendly all while training other employees. Dawn's desire to higher level accounting sent her on her journey into public accounting. In February of 2006, she began working for a CPA Firm. During those 4 years, she executed individual and corporate tax returns, managed fixed assets and depreciation, added new companies into accounting software, handled all month end closing for clients, processed all payroll for clients needing payroll services, and all other accounting functions needed within the firm. From here,

she was hired internally by one of the firm’s largest clients, a 3PL Freight Transportation Broker, and took on a new position as their Controller. Throughout Dawn's 6 years in management, she developed meaningful relationships with her accounting team which grew from 3 people to 16 during that time and she still communicates with them to this day. The company grew from 3 entities to 7, and her department managed all aspects of accounting for each entity. She maintained a valuable work relationship with her supervisor and CFO, who referred to her as his right hand. In 2015, Dawn chose to scale back and work for herself in order to

needed. With 26 years of experience, Dawn is a seasoned accounting professional. She works with attorneys, transportation brokers, special project clients and many others. Though she does not offer tax returns or payroll processing, she is happy to handle all accounting needs related to them. Financials At A Fraction can take your business from its beginning stages, through setting up accounting software and

transactions to preparing financials for a CPA who will file your company’s tax return. Intercompany accounting is like second nature for Dawn. She is comfortable managing 7 entities at a time and does so seamlessly. Financials At A Fraction has brought several clients who were a year and a half behind in their financials up to speed and current, as well as provided training to them onsite to manage their accounting internally going forward as they desired. She handles temporary projects for businesses as well, with one including the transition of an old controller in a foam manufacturing company. During the 6 weeks she revamped their accounting inefficiencies, reduced month end process, and trained their new permanent controller. Dawn has a range of clients from marine product manufacturers, freight brokers, service providers, attorneys and other private small businesses. The billing for Financials At A Fraction is done hourly based on the requirements of clients. These range from daily and monthly inputting to special projects. Dawn’s services are available year round. She works with clients Monday through Thursday until 4:30 pm with varying hours on Friday. Dawn’s all-inclusive experience with and passion for the field of accounting makes her the clear choice for your financial obligations. She is knowledgeable in all accounting systems and is able to locate errors and completely recover damaged financials. She prides herself on being an effective problem solver who is proactive rather than reactive. She also brings years of experience handling 6 million dollars worth of daily accounts receivable, and has highly effective methods to improve collections and cash flow. Her accounting work is paperless oriented which is immensely

beneficial in today’s technology oriented world. Dawn has a strong knowledge and understanding needed to construct financials within software systems. She has experience in every aspect of accounting functions within a software including but not limited to invoicing, purchase orders, accounts payable and receivable, liabilities and assets. She knows accounting from the bottom up, and has trained teams on every level. She takes great care to cultivate lasting relationships with those she works with. Dawn values loyalty and loves being accurate and ethical in books. She has always said that her accounting was so precise, that the worst thing she had to worry about if ever audited was what would she wear that day! Her goal is to transform accounting into a process that is straightforward for those who struggle with it. Through Financials At A Fraction, Dawn Fischer assists business owners with accounting, QuickBooks both desktop and online, bookkeeping, training, consulting, and more. Her qualifications include a total of 26 years of accounting "hands-on" experience. Many people fear that hiring an accountant would be pricy, but one decision altering detail they are unaware of is that Financials At A Fraction will reduce your business’s internal costs, quarterly work and year end tax preparation. You are hiring an experienced accountant, bookkeeper, and controller all in one. Watch as your financial headaches disappear with Dawn Fischer and her game changing company Financials At A Fraction. “Dr. Machhar” Continued from page 1 the doctor on call is the one who knows them personally. It really gives one peace-of-mind to know that Dr. Machhar will oversee hospital care if necessary. And, when you make an appointment with Dr. Machhar’s office, it is Dr. Machhar that you will see – not a different doctor, not a nurse practitioner. Together with his wife, Paresha, and their educated staff, Dr. Machhar provides patients old-fashioned, quality care given by professionals who love what they do. “What is most important to my patients is that they are able to see me on an emergency basis,” says Dr. Machhar. “I see them right away when necessary.” There are times when patients can get in right away with Dr. Machhar for something that he can help them with, which prevents them from having to go to the hospital. If you use Humana as your healthcare insurance, Dr. Machhar is the doctor for you, as he has been an exclusive Humana Health Care Provider throughout his career. By partnering with one specific insur-

26

ance provider, Dr. Machhar has given himself the opportunity to limit his practice to the number of patients he knows he can provide exceptional medical care to and still have time to know his patients. Patients receive the time with Dr. Machhar that they deserve, no matter what their needs are. Additionally, having been a Humana Provider for so many years has given Dr. Machhar insight into the network and the opportunity to establish relationships with other doctors in the area that he knows also are excellent healthcare providers, giving him a great referral list for his patients should they ever need a referral to a specialist or surgeon. Geriatric Medicine Focused on Longevity! Many of Dr. Machhar’s patients are up there in years, and he enjoys helping them stay as healthy as they can with a goal to live long into a happy old age. Dr. Machhar is very experienced at treating a variety of medical conditions that the elderly often face, such as diabetes, cardiology related concerns, osteoporosis, lung disease, high blood pressure, arthritis and more. Dr. Machhar is

said to be thorough and experienced without being an alarmist. Listening to his patients’ concerns, he doesn’t send people for tests they don’t need, or make people wait needlessly for results. He’s very considerate of his patients. But Dr. Machhar does believe in being proactive and is very diligent about offering screenings for skin, colon, prostate and breast cancer, as well as computerized testing for emphysema and the other smoking-related and lung disease issues that so many older people face today. A husband who is a patient shares, “My wife and I both go to his office and truly appreciate all he and his staff do for us. It brings us great joy every time we see him.” He also describes Dr. Machhar as “kind and caring” and “thorough,” and says he would recommend Dr. Machhar and his staff to anyone.

him and led me to have Dr Machhar as my Primary Physician. I recommend him highly.” Another patient said, “Dr. Machhar has been mine and my husband’s doctor since we moved to Florida in 1994. I couldn’t ask for a more caring man. He has saved my husband’s life three times. The man knows what he is talking about. He is never in a hurry and will explain things to you. His staff has always been nice and caring. I wouldn’t have anyone else for a doctor as long as he is till around. His wife works in the office and she is just as nice. They are like family to us. We need more caring doctors like Dr. Machhar.” A patient who describes himself as “not a young pup” and who has been going to Dr. Machhar for nearly a decade says that he moved around a lot for business during his younger years, and therefore had experiences with a lot of different doctors. He shared, “Dr. Machhar has provided the best medical experiences that I have ever had with a doctor. He treats me like a good friend not like a number out of all his patients. He is never in a rush. I really enjoy him. His medical diagnosis

Heavenly Heat wing sauce and marinade is fantastic! I may be a little bias because Davis Salo, the creator of Heavenly Heat is a good friend of mine but I think it’s the best stuff in the world! Not only is the hot sauce an old family recipe that tastes amazing, but David’s story is even more incredible. Let’s talk about how Heavenly Heat LLC was born! It all started with prayers, love and support from others. In 2012 a hot sauce owner by the name of David Salo was ready to move into the retail market and had been searching for the right person to help take him there. Little did David know at the other side of the state was a desperate mother praying for a way to pay medical bills and help her son survive, this was Josie. Josie is Nathan’s mom and Nate had been battling brain cancer that he was diagnosed with on August 28th 2012. David and his family held a benefit for Nate to help with his medical bills and the event was a great success that helped the family pay off a large bill accumulated from the All Children’s Hospital. This was so helpful to Josie, Nate and his family. A fellowship of love, prayers and passion

formed within the two families. Through conversations and listening to each other’s stories and goals David and Josie discovered they shared something more than just the goal of helping Nate. Josie worked in retail and had most of her life to David’s surprise. As David and Josie continued to discuss his current business plan they both realized that not only did God send David into their lives but by David doing an act of kindness, God also brought Josie into his life to help him achieve his goals. David’s goal was to be in retail grocery stores, yet was in several smaller grocery locations for years. David was soon to find out that his goal was larger than just grocery stores, it was to help others in need. Well the moral of the story goes like this, after over almost 2 years “Heavenly Heat Wing Sauce and Marinade” was born. How did we come up with the name you ask? Nate picked the word HEAVENLY because he felt God had brought us together and HEAT because the sauce is not HOT, it just had a beautiful, flavorful heat with every delicious bite. In July 2014 we had our prayers answered and was granted a meeting with Publix in which we were able to get our product into 320 stores.

Nathan Dodds and David Salo

It has been a long road, David and Josie have worked very hard to get this far and still have a long way to go, but we have more ideas and bigger plans for the company. We believe it’s way bigger than us and this opportunity will give us at Heavenly Heat, a way to give back to other children in need. The support we have had from our families and friends is astonishing. People believed in us and supported us through thick and thin and here we are a little over a year. Big plans for Heavenly Heat and Nate’s future because when it was all said and

done David Salo gave Nathan Dodds 49% of his company to show his love for the cause. Not only will Nate have support for his medical bills he will also have support and a career for his future. Nathan now even works at Publix just like many local teenagers have before him. Please support our local hero David Salo and Nathan Dodds by picking up a few bottles of Heavenly Heat today at your local Publix! Look for it in the meat section and if you can’t find it there then go ahead and ask the store manager for assistance!
