Taking Time With Patients is Important! Most of us do not enjoy going to the doctor. We want it to be quick and painless. We want the drive-through version of anything that’s not pleasant these days. However, if you go to a “drive-through” service for health care, where the goal is to get as many patients rotated through the door as possible, you’re going to just be a number. Trinity Family Physicians is the opposite of drive-through care. That’s not to say that they aren’t timely, or that they don’t value their patients’ time, because they do, but their commitment to each patient is something that has more value, and that’s something I’m willing to wait for. I know that when it’s my turn,

I’m not going to be turned away when I ask a question or voice a concern. I’m not going to be told to make another appointment. Each time I see a doctor at Trinity Family Physicians, I feel that I’m being listened to, and that my care is their utmost priority at that time. One patient admits to driving more than an hour to get to Trinity Family Physicians, saying, “I am willing to drive to see them no matter where I move, and I’m willing to wait because it’s not that often that you find a physician that offers that kind of care.” Dr. Shirmohammad says, “We offer our full attention to each of our patients, and we don’t want to be rushed. While we have a goal to have each patient checked in and out within a certain amount of time, our true investment is in the time it takes for your health to be properly evaluated.” Another patient said, “They are the absolute best! My wife and I were both looking for ‘old fashioned’ doctors, the type we had when we were kids that would take time with you and seemed truly concerned for your health. Drs. Shirmo and Eldridge were exactly what we were looking for. They have been nothing short of fantastic in helping both of us through our health issues the last several years.”

Where do you place your own health when it comes to your personal priorities? Is it above choosing where to eat for dinner? Where to shop? Where to bank? If it’s not, it certainly should be. Not to seem overly dramatic, but at the end of the day, there’s nothing more important than your health, which is why you should choose doctors that will put your health first. Trinity Family Physicians treats medicine differently; instead of being a number or a chart, you’re treated like family. Convenient to East Lake, Tarpon Springs, Palm Harbor, New Port Richey, Odessa, Land O’ Lakes and more, Trinity Family Physicians is located at the corner of Trinity Boulevard and Duck Slough Boulevard, and offers a personalized approach that is refreshing in our current healthcare environment. Taking the time necessary to give each patient their best care, it is no surprise that the doctors and staff at Trinity Family Physicians have earned the respect and the business of so many patients in and around our area. The Trinity Family Physicians aren’t just doctors, they’re my doctors. I count on them when I have a health concern, when I don’t feel well, and when I need answers. They are there when I need them, and I count on them to help me get well and stay well. Drs. Stephanie Eldridge, MD, MPH and Amir Shirmohammad, MD, MPH are a husband and wife team that knows what it’s like to have a busy family lifestyle. In fact, they have

two lovely daughters and another one on the way! High school sweethearts, “Dr. Shirmo,” as most patients call him, and Dr. Eldridge met when they were just 17, and they’ve been together ever since. Both of them graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University in New Orleans where they majored in Cell and Molecular Biology. They went on to earn Master’s Degrees in Public Health and Epidemiology before earning their Medical Degrees, staying at Tulane the entire time. Serving Trinity and its surrounding areas since 2007, Dr. Shirmohammad and Dr. Eldridge have already met their goal of creating a new kind of medical practice as Trinity Family Physicians is one that certainly stands out from the rest in its dedication, commitment and follow-through.

custom closet. Well, it is! It just holds a bed!” Adding, “The bed is really comfortable, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants the flexibility of putting the bed away when you don’t need it.” One of the hottest items at Comfort Zone is the Murphy Bed Cabinet. It is completely revolutionizing the way people look at their bedroom furniture. The Murphy Bed Cabinet is freestanding, unlike traditional Murphy beds that are attached to a wall, and it can be easily moved! In fact, it can hide a solid queen size platform bed, complete with a comfort gel, memory foam mattress, inside of a cabinet that takes up just 10 cubic feet of space! Think about how you would use the space in your bedroom if you could simply fold up your bed into a beautiful wood cabinet!

Lee Pearson, who recently shopped at Comfort Zone, said, “From the moment we walked in, we were greeted tactfully and professionally. After speaking with the sales consultant, we were able to determine what fit our budget and met our needs. The whole process from purchase to delivery was smooth and without any cheesy sales pitches. I would highly recommend Comfort Zone to anyone…and of course to my friends or family.” See the High Quality Difference at Comfort Zone! Part of what makes Comfort Zone so popular is the high quality of their wood furniture. Owner David Alarcon said, “We create custom cabinetry out of real wood, and we don’t use any particle board in our

designs. We can custom make any style bed in any design, and create something that is versatile and flexible for your home.” Adding, “We do a lot of custom sizing, as RVs and boats have limited space. Customers know they can count on us, and we can make beds and mattresses in any size.” David is really fantastic at helping people find the right sleep solution for each family member. His knowledgeable, easy-going approach makes furniture shopping a pleasure. Especially experienced at helping customers design custom cabinetry, David can help show you the many options that can be created or help you build something completely unique to your home or your space. David says, “We also offer a white glove delivery service. We have our own trucks and our own people that we trust to deliver and assemble furniture for our valued customers.” Customer Brittany Burke said, “I am 100% pleased with the customer service and customer satisfaction. I was greeted kindly and assisted promptly. David was kind and so helpful. The prices are reasonable, and delivery was speedy and efficient.” In addition to hideaway bedding systems, Comfort Zone also offers a wide variety of European platform beds, waterbeds, and mattresses to fit

All Are Welcome at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church This Holiday Season! By Julie Kanehl St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church wants you to know that you and your family are welcome to spend Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter Sunday and every Sunday in between with their family of close-knit parishioners who truly care about one another, and have created a community of people who want to keep Jesus as the reason for every season. St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (STACC), located at 8320 Old C.R. 54 in New Port Richey, is the perfect place to worship with your family and friends this holiday season. St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church has been serving New Port Richey families since 1980, long before their parish was even complete, which was in 1994. Created to serve our community and the many people in and around it, STACC has been a constant for the people and families in our area. Today, the Pastor, Rev. Michael Lydon, whom everyone lov-

Childhood Center Director, Cindy McKallip says, “There’s nothing quite like experiencing the holidays through the eyes of a child.” Pope Francis has called for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and to do that STACC has a number of outreach ministries, like their food pantry, their Love in a Box program and more that could use support from local families and members of our community. It’s never too late to get involved and to make a difference in the life of others!

Keeping Christ in Christmas! There are all kinds of wonderful events happening at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church this Christmas! Mitchell High School, is excited to announce that the Marching Mustangs Band has been invited to perform in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on April 16, 2016. One of Washington DC’s largest spectator events, the high energy Parade will run for ten blocks down historic Constitution Avenue. Accompanied by giant colorful helium balloons, elaborate floats, and celebrity entertainers, the Marching Mustangs will travel the Parade route in a grand spectacle of music and showmanship. The Marching Mustangs were selected based on a variety of criteria including musicianship, marching ability, and entertainment value. These students deserve your support as they have been working very hard. Currently 209 members strong, the J.W. Mitchell High School band program is the largest in Pasco County. when on a time crunch,” says Sophia. “My fifteen years of experience have given me insight to little tricks of the trade and my goal is to truly help people simplify their lives.” Sophia explains that Ms. Twister doesn’t just clean the pathways in your home as the dirt and germs hide under and in your furniture, closets, cabinets and other places.

Trinity Area Neighborhood News & Lifestyles

Ms. Twister tailors your cleaning visit to meet your needs and expectations. Sophia customizes a cleaning plan for every client. Sophia says, “We do everything from pantry organization and cleaning out the refrigerator to color coordinating your closet, if that is what you need. I recently la-

beled and organized a client’s closet who is a professional athlete. She has a very busy schedule and wears workout clothes for her job. I labeled everything in her closet, so she can wake up, easily find her yoga pants or shorts for the morning and get on with her day. She was so grateful for the help, which is what makes my job so enjoyable. Helping people simplify their lives at home, so they can focus on their health, family and work – that is what this business is all about.” Sophia and her team are more than thorough when it comes to cleaning. If a client is running out of dog food, tooth paste, needs a few items for the pantry, has a burned out light bulb or a tear in your screen, they will leave a “welcome home note,” letting the homeowner know if anything seems amiss or in need of repair. Of course, it’s super convenient that Ms. Twister also has Team Farrell to recommend if you do happen to need any home repairs. This way you only need to deal with one person to complete any service in your home. Sophia says, “I am hands-on in this business. I always visit your house to make sure the cleaning is done right and we always give you a reminder call

the day before your scheduled cleaning. I love this business because it truly allows me to become a part of the family with many of my clients. When you allow someone into your home to fold your laundry and clean for you, it takes a great amount of trust and I am proud to earn that trust with so many wonderful people.” Ms. Twister and Sophia’s reviews are all five stars. Kathryn Starkey says, “I would recommend Sophia! She is an extremely conscious person who goes that extra mile to make sure everything is done correctly and makes sure you are happy!” Paul and Elizabeth Mancini say, “We are extremely pleased with Sophia’s work ethic and her high level of quality. I look forward to coming home on Wednesday evenings knowing that our home will look spick-andspan. We highly recommend her and we know you will be satisfied with her work.” And Loriann says, “We have used Sophia for years. She is very dependable and always does a great job! We know when we walk into the home that it’s not just clean – it’s ‘Sophia clean!’ She pays close attention to detail, always goes above-andbeyond.” Sophia may not be the team member doing the actual cleaning every time, but she trains her team and oversees their work to make sure that every clean provided meets the “Sophia Clean” and Ms. Twister standard. When Tina Farrell and Jill &Tom Persinger joined with Sophia Anastas-

siou to create Ms. Twister, they not only wanted to provide residential and commercial clients with an all inclusive cleaning service, but also to give back to the community. Team Farrell has supported more than forty different charities throughout the area. Upon opening, Ms. Twister began its journey toward becoming a provider for the non-profit organization Cleaning for a Reason, which gifts free house cleaning to women undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. Tom’s sister lost her life to breast cancer five years ago. He says, “Team Farrell has always been passionate about giving back to the community because we believe as business owners, it is our responsibility. Joining up with Cleaning for a Reason was a great choice for Ms. Twister because it allows us to dedicate a large portion of profits from cleaning back to people who are truly in need. When you clean someone’s house who is undergoing treatment, you are not only helping them with assistance with tasks they may no longer be able to perform, you are helping them by being there for them when they need it most. With Sophia on the job, we know that people will have a smile on their faces when she works with them because of her care, attention to detail and compassion.” For a clean, organized and beautiful home, Ms. Twister Maid Service is one call away. OTAZU and more: Unique Warehouse Store, A Pasco Gem OTAZU and more is a unique warehouse store located at 2401 Merchant Avenue in Odessa. Family owned and operated by mother and daughter, Linda and Alli, OTAZU and more started out 15 years ago as the exclusive distributor in North America for world-renowned jewelry designer, Rodrigo Otazu. Their customers are among the best boutiques and specialty stores in the U.S. and Canada. This year, Linda and Alli decided to experiment and opened directly to the public as OTAZU and more. “We wanted to offer women a chance to come in and try on some of our collection overstock,” says Linda. “We opened to the public for a special twoday event in May and received such a wonderful response that we decided to remain accessible by the public.” So, the mother-daughter team then spent countless hours refining their idea of converting their wholesale distribution business into this unique warehouse store. As described by Linda, “We consider this our little Pasco gem, and we are excited to bring upscale, designer jewelry to Pasco County at very affordable prices, often way below

wholesale. The store is still evolving and hopefully improving every day.” For those unfamiliar with the designer, Rodrigo Otazu started designing jewelry in Amsterdam. Within a few short years, Vogue was calling him the “King of Bling” and “one of the jewelry world’s hottest names du jour.” Soon Rodrigo was collaborating with top couture houses, such as Christian LaCroix, on their spectacular runway collections. Rodrigo’s work quickly got the attention of well known music artists, starting out with Britney Spears in her famous snake outfit from the MTV movie awards (back in the day), to Lady Gaga in recent years. In addition, his jewelry is worn in the music videos of Miranda Lambert, Kelis, Mariah Carey and Madonna, as well as adorning celebrities such as Tyra Banks, Lucy Liu, Jessica Biel, the Khardashians, and many others. Rodrigo’s jewelry was selected for three of the main characters in the movie, Sex and the City 2, and is a favorite of many of the BRAVO reality show Housewives. Currently Rodrigo is a featured designer for Swarovski’s

“Atelier.” He has designed many lines over the years, including a sterling silver collection and a unique one-off Diamond collection for DeBeers. Most of Rodrigo’s jewelry is handmade in Bali and showcases incomparable Swarovski crystals. As Linda describes, “When you wear jewelry by Rodrigo, you immediately garner compliments and attention from men and women alike. It’s no surprise that there are countless collectors of his jewelry all around the world.” The OTAZU brand normally retails for $100 to over $1,000. But the warehouse overstock and sample prices start unbelievably at $10, with sterling silver jewelry starting at $25. In addition to the OTAZU brand, OTAZU and more carries “more,” that is, other brands as well as creLady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker and Mariah ations by local artists, at afCarey all wearing OTAZU jewelry. fordable prices. Alli explains,

“OTAZU is more of a statement look, but many people like more simple looks. We want to have something for everyone. For instance, we offer unique, handmade cards, and other gift items for under $5. We also carry a coastal/inspirational jewelry collection for under $20, artisan paint and resin necklaces for under $25, and wrapped wire and gemstone bracelets (the latest rage) for under $20.” Alli adds, “We welcome local women’s groups to schedule private events to come here together to shop, without any pressure or the hassle of getting to a shopping mall. We’ve had many groups of women do this and I love helping them pick out fun, beautiful jewelry pieces for special occasions or just to spice up their wardrobes.” As the resident stylist, Alli explains how she loves to work with customers, “I had one customer who brought in five outfits for her

upcoming cruise, and she tried them on as we worked together for over an hour picking out the perfect pieces for each. She was delighted, and we had so much fun.” OTAZU and more customer Laurie says, “I absolutely Love Love Love this jewelry! So many of the pieces are versatile! You can wear it with casual outfits to dress yourself up, or if you’re going out on the town, it’s the perfect addition to bling you up! It’s definitely high quality at an affordable price. I get compliments every time I wear my pieces!” Another OTAZU fan, Megan, says, “I love my OTAZU jewelry. I’ve had it for ten years at least and it still looks like it did the day I bought it!” Alli adds: “The husband of a recent customer made a special trip to the store to tell us that his wife, Rose, wore a piece of OTAZU jewelry (recently purchased here) at a Bar

Mitzvah she attended in New Jersey… he was just blown away that her jewelry was the talk of the event.” “We encourage all customers to follow OTAZU and more on Facebook, as we post our Pick of the Day and daily specials there,” says Alli. “We also have a monthly drawing for a free necklace, and our customers can enter the drawing every time they come to the store.” Alli encourages frequent visits to OTAZU and more, because, “you never know what you will find here, as we put out new jewelry every day, and many pieces are the last of their kind. you to come visit our unique warehouse. The holidays are fast approaching. We also have an incredible support staff that allows us more availability. They are very welltrained and give excellent care.” Dr. Shirmohammad is referring to their highly qualified Physician Assistant Mrs. Kristina Reeves, PA-C, and Nurse Practitioner Mrs. Kyle Maldonado ARNP-C. Kristina and Kyle are always available to see patients, especially for that last minute, “I might need an antibiotic” kind of situation.

Preventative, Communicative Care While the care at Trinity Family Physicians is all about the back-tobasics, one-on-one approach, everything else is pretty state-of-the-art! For example, patients can now log into a patient portal to access medical records, request appointments or refills on medication, and even send questions to the doctors! All of their records are digital, which means they can send and receive records from other offices within minutes when necessary. They also send prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice. Educating Patients to Stay Well Trinity Family Physicians and their staff are focused on helping their patients feel well and stay well,

which means that education is one of their top priorities. As a result, the doctors and their staff often offer health seminars on specific topics such as diabetes, nutrition, supplements and weight loss. Weight loss is a popular topic at Trinity Family Physicians, and they’ve been helping lots of patients learn how to shed those pounds the right way, and keep them off. Dr. Shirmohammad explains, “We spend time getting to know our patients and we teach people how to eat properly, and we’re helping people avoid taking unnecessary medicine by teaching them about the many natural and herbal supplements that we have available.” Offering general vitamins for

overall wellness, sleep aids, supplements for heart health, safe weight management, vision support and more, Trinity Family Physicians offers the NutraMetrix line of supplements and vitamins right there at their office. Patients love the convenience of being able to get natural health supplements at Trinity Family Physicians and rather than guessing what to buy at a store, they can get what their physician recommends. Another way that Dr. Eldridge and Dr. Shirmohammad reach out to the community and patients with important tips and information is with Facebook. “Like” Trinity Family Physicians on their Facebook page because there, the doctors let people know if there’s a virus outbreak in

the neighborhood, if the flu shots are available, and they also give helpful tools to incorporate wellness in general. Recently, Drs. Shirmohammad and Eldridge created another way to involve themselves in a community where we have everyday heroes that they would like to recognize with their Trinity Family Physicians’ Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award. The first recipient of the Award was announced in the September issues of Neighborhood News & Lifestyles. A new winner will be chosen quarterly throughout the year for the ongoing Tampa Bay Making A Difference Award, and the doctors look forward to sharing the news of the outstanding individuals who will be chosen for their efforts that make a difference. Using all of the tools that they can, Dr. Eldridge and Dr. Shirmo-

More than that, they provide personalized, professional care. Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Presents Inaugural 2015 Pasco County All-Star Football Game Tony Dungy / Bobby Bowden / Tom Landry / Tom Osborne – these are but a few of the 80 or more legendary coaches in America who are a part of the “Wall of Champions” at FCA headquarters in Kansas City MO. These are coaches who have impacted the lives of athletes for in the areas of character, integrity, leadership, and even for eternity, for most of their careers. And these are coaches who’ve been a part of FCA for 30 - 40 years. FCA is a non-profit sports-based ministry that seeks to impact the lives of coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, for Jesus Christ. There are FCA chapters in all 50 states in the U.S., and in 31 countries around the world. Locally, there are chapters in 101 different schools in the Tampa Bay area, which include middle schools, high schools and colleges. The ministry can be best described with the Four C’s: Coaches, Campus, Camps and Community. Coaches – Coaches are FCA’s ini-

46

tial impact each year. During the summer before the school year begins, hundreds of coaches (and their spouses) are invited to a 3-day getaway at an exclusive resort. These coaches are able to attend breakout sessions on marriage, finance, coaching, and others topics. Many will enjoy some time of R & R, sit by the pool, go to the beach, and get refreshed and charged up for the upcoming school year. There are guest speakers on coaching the heart (the player behind the number) of the athlete, which includes coaching in all three dimensions: physical, mental and spiritual. Billy Graham said, “a coach will impact more people in one year than most people do in a lifetime.” The coach is the gateway to hundreds of young people on campuses. This is why we at FCA put so much emphases on coaches. The second “C” is for campus. With a presence on 101 campuses in Tampa Bay, we reach quite a few students in the form of school “huddles”, team sports huddles, Bible Studies, de-

votionals, gymnasium events and other meetings. The school meetings are student initiated and student led. This gives the students who choose to be a part of our club an opportunity to grow and stretch in areas such as leadership, public speaking, preparation and other life skills. Students who come through the FCA ministry as leaders can put this body of work on their resume as they begin searching for colleges or careers. It’s impor-

tant to know that while FCA has “athletes” in our name, that students don’t have to be athletes or a part of a sports team to be a part of our club. We seek to reach ALL students at all schools. The third “C” is for camps. FCA has hundreds of camps around the country each year. These camps range from “all student” camps, leadership camps, and virtually the different sports-specific camps. Locally we offer a full week of camp at Southeastern

University in Lakeland. Students from all across southwest Florida meet at SEU for a full week of perspiration, inspiration and transformation. They come back fired up and ready to make a difference in their schools and with their friends. The fourth “C” is for community. FCA partners with businesses, churches, parents and volunteers to organize several major events and many small events each year that impact the community. Some of the events we’ll do are golf tournaments, cornhole tournaments, sporting clay shoots and banquets, where a much broader audience is reached.

played in Raymond James Stadium. They are a big deal, and we plan to make the Pasco County game a big deal too! It will be held at Sunlake High School for the first year, and possibly rotate as a host school to other fields each year. Areas of need within FCA are for volunteers, speakers, monthly financial partners and board members. If you have any interest in serving in any of these areas, we would greatly appreciate an opportunity to talk with you. Bob Durham can be reached at (813) 784-4410 or bdurham@fca.org.

Best of the West VS. Best of the East On December 10th at 7 p.m. at Sunlake High School, the FCA presents the Inaugural 2015 Pasco County All-Star Football Game. In this firstever game, Pasco County will be divided into East and West, and the best players from every position, from every school, will compete for bragging rights in the County. Our neighboring counties (Hillsborough and Pinellas) have played these All-Star Games for 20 years running, and they’ll play again this December. The Hillsborough game is

TréSkinRX Promised Me Healthy Skin & Real Results... It Worked! By Katie Thomas Healthy skin translates to beautiful skin, something we all strive for and if you’re anything like me (and many others) you know that healthy skin doesn’t always come easy. As a teen, my skin was clear, but along with adulthood came adult acne and I tried product after product with no satisfaction until recently when I received a starter kit of TréSkinRX products from glowwithdoreen.com. Whether struggling with acne, wrinkles, uneven texture, dry or dull skin, the hassle of finding a product that really works can be frustrating and mistakes are costly, and believe me, I’d wasted my share of money on products that didn’t work. I wanted an all-natural product that really works, that is simple to use with simple ingredients, and one that would give my skin the healthy glow I desired. Was that too much to ask? Lucky for me, Doreen Selby, CFO of Neighborhood News & Lifestyles found a skin care line that delivers on its promises! It all started with a Mother’s Day gift from her family; after a facial

48

with International Aesthetician Annette McPhee, who owns Celtic Day Spa in Westchase, Doreen’s skin was truly glowing. She says, “All the products used during my facial were from TréSkinRX. The facial itself was a relaxing, transcendent experience but it was the aftermath of the product that really blew me away. I immediately felt a full change in my skin - it was soft, hydrated and had a glow to it that I hadn’t seen in a long time.” Impressed, she brought home a twoweek sample kit of the TréSkinRX basic skin care products. “I was amazed at the difference in my skin after only a few days into using the product,” shares Doreen. “Upon further use, I realized the 100% organic aloe vera, the base ingredient of all TréSkinRX products, was literally healing my skin. It reduced the inflammation I had been experiencing, resulting in getting rid of my rosacea. My friends, family members and coworkers began complimenting my skin and asking what product I was using. That is when I decided to look deeper into the reason TréSkinRX was working

better than any other product I had ever used before, because it was apparent to me and others that my skin was undergoing a change for the better!” Doreen did some research online and found that TréSkinRX products are made with 100% organic pharmaceutical grade aloe vera, which is proven to be anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, wound healing, therapeutic

NOVEMBER 2015

and an anesthetic. The molecular structure of aloe is able to penetrate through our skin, to hydrate it and bring pH levels back to normal. TréSkinRX products were created by Ahmed Abdullah, MD, who is a board certified plastic and cosmetic surgeon and a recognized expert on the restorative and medicinal effects of aloe vera. Dr. Abdullah is a member of

Trinity Area Neighborhood News & Lifestyles

the International Aloe Science Council (IASC) based in Dallas, Texas, and has served on its board of directors. He is a pioneer of the practice of using pharmaceutical-grade aloe in plastic surgery for the treatment of skin damage. “After researching and investigating the TréSkinRX product line for myself and becoming fully aware of the science behind 100% organic aloe vera, I knew I had to become a part of the TréSkinRX team to better share the amazing, transformative skin care line with people that I know,” says Doreen. “Even though I have a full time career with Neighborhood News & Lifestyles, I find that Glow With Doreen is a fun and rewarding business venture that has been very satisfying. I like it that I am not required to carry inventory or meet sales quotas. I have always enjoyed helping people and becoming a TréSkinRX Launch Manager has given me the ability to not only help people with their skin, but with their confidence as well. It just feels good!” My Personal Experience With TréSkinRX For some reason, I had beautiful clear skin as a teenager, but as soon as

I turned 22, I started having problems with adult acne from small red marks on my cheeks to cystic under-the-skin pimples that really hurt. I have tried so many different skin care products from all natural products, to over-thecounter acne washes and toners, to dermatologist-prescribed topical treatments. I’ve known Doreen for over twelve years and she has personally seen me struggle with adult acne. She thought TréSkinRX might help and gave me a trial kit just to try. I could not believe the results. The inflammation in my cheeks went away after one week. After two weeks, I was amazed at the difference in my skin. I even felt confident enough to not wear concealer or foundation! I love the simplicity of TréSkinRX. I still use the same products that come in the two-week, four-product trial kit: Purifying Cleanser, EX3 Daily Renewing Exfoliant, Triple Defense Day Moisturizer with SPF 15, and Night Repair Moisturizer. Plus, I added the Clear Skin Blemish Control cream. My favorite product is the EX3 Daily Renewing Exfoliant, which is composed of certified organic phar-

Trinity Area Neighborhood News & Lifestyles

maceutical grade aloe vera, glycolic acid with an effective pH level of 2.1–2.3 and high potency vitamin C. To understand how EX3 works, you have to first understand the ph scale in relation to skin and how it works with glycolic acid - the lower the pH, the more acidic a product, ultimately resulting in being more effective at removing keratin or dead skin cells. EX3 has the lowest effective pH available without a doctor’s office peel. Dr. Abdullah realized that given aloe’s superior anti-inflammatory properties, it seemed logical that generous amounts of aloe paired with acid would ensure enough hydrogen ions (acid) to dissolve dead skin layers while preventing a burn. Basically, EX3’s pH level of 2.1 – 2.3 is nearly the same as that of an in-office chemical peel (pH 2.0), but you can do it yourself at home. EX3 utilizes pure pharmaceutical aloe and glycolic acid in conjunction with Vitamin C, A and E, which serve as antioxidants. The TréSkinRX product line includes options for people with sensitive skin, normal skin, dry skin, and there even is a line available for people suffering from acne.

My skin has never felt so good and my confidence in my skin’s health and appearance has never been higher. TréSkinRX is soon releasing a mineral makeup line that will contain no oils, talc, bismuth, oxychloride, fragrances, synthetic materials or chemicals – I’m excited about that! For information about TréSkinRX or to order a twoweek, four-product trial kit for $14.99, please contact Doreen Selby at (727) 946-1596 or place your order online at www.glowwithdoreen.com.
