Don’t Live With Pain, Call Dr. Lane! Lane Family Wellness By Carla Selby If you’re searching for pain relief without relying on pain medications, and you think a chiropractor can provide the help you need, this is the most important article you’ll ready today. Let’s be honest; choosing a chiropractor you can trust can be difficult. There are so many options out there that making an informed
decision can be overwhelming. You may be asking yourself these questions: “Which one is the best?” “Which one has the most success with treating sciatica?” “Is there a chiropractor who will do more than just adjustments to my spine?” “Which one will not adjust my neck if I don’t like that?” “Which one takes my health insurance?” See “Lane Family Wellness” on page 24

Go Gold This September - Help Bring Awareness to Childhood Cancer September is here and I am still in disbelief. A lot of stores have Halloween and Christmas decorations out on display already, can you believe it? Whether time goes by slowly or incredibly fast for you, for those diagnosed with cancer every new day is a gift. Families, caregivers, charities and research groups across the United States observe September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. In the U.S. alone. approximately 16,000 children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year; and 1/4 of them will not survive the disease. A diagnosis turns the lives of the entire family upside down. The objective of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is to put a spotlight on the types of cancer that largely affect children, survivorship issues, and -importantlyto help raise funds for research and family support. No matter how what you can contribute, a little does a lot. You can donate online by visiting the following trusted organizations:
National Pediatric Cancer Foundation: https://nationalpcf.org/ American Childhood Cancer Organization https://www.acco.org Children’s Cancer Research Fund childrenscancer.org. Children’s Cancer Center: http:// childrenscancercenter. org/ All donations to these charities are tax deductible since they have all been designated as a 501(c)(3) organization by the IRS. On these websites you can also learn about each organization, read stories from current patients battling cancer, share your own story, or even start a fundraiser. Another way to show your support during the month of September is by wearing gold all month long in your community. Gold is the national color for childhood cancer awareness. Unlike other cancer awareness ribbons, which focus on a singular type of cancer, the gold ribbon is a symbol for all forms of cancer affecting children and adolescents. You can make a safe Gold Ribbon, gold bracelet, gold earrings, charms, etc. purchase online from
a local Tampa company called Fundraising For A Cause: https://www. fundraisingforacause. com/ A lot of the orders ship the same day if placed by 3:00pm. EST. I would also like to take this opportunity to invite all of you to the 8th Annual Cheval Cares 5k Run/Walk event held by the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, and presented by Tampa Bay Insurance Partners, The Arndt Family, and JK Cancer Fund, Inc. The Even will be held on Saturday, September 28th at the Cheval Athletic Club and will feature a fundraising 5k through the Cheval neighborhood, followed by a family celebration at the playground and basketball court. Registration fees apply so please visit: https:// secure.qgiv.com/ event/cheval/ for more information and to register for the event. Your registration fee includes an event T-shirt, a spot in the 5k run/ walk, and admission to all the family fun areas. There will be live music, a bounce hose, food trucks, a silent auction and more. I will be attending the Cheval 5k with my family, and I hope to see all of your smiling faces there as well! Tampa’s Centrally Located Country Club and Championship Golf Course: Carrollwood Country Club is the Place to Play, Meet, Celebrate, and Stay
Written by: Kelly Stuart Williams, MA Way back when Dale Mabry Highway was a two-lane road that led motorists into the “country” lined with orange groves, the Carrollwood Village Golf and Country Club was built in 1972. Not only was it the largest Country Club community in Greater Tampa Bay, but it included 27 holes of Championship Golf that brought golfers and home builders to the area of Northwest Hillsborough County known as Carrollwood Village. Over the past 47 years, the iconic Carrollwood Country Club (CCC) has become inextricably tied to one of Tampa’s most coveted communities, Carrollwood. Nearly every story of growing up in Carrollwood includes fond memories of swimming for the Carrollwood Village Swim Team (CVST); attending a special event in the CCC banquet rooms; or spending Independence Day on the CCC golf course where Tampa’s best community fireworks light up Carrollwood the Saturday before the 4th of July. Conveniently located only 20 minutes from Tampa International Airport, CCC remains centrally located and provides the best of a Country Club lifestyle in the heart of one of America’s fastest growing communities. Whether you are looking for a place to play, a place to meet, a place to celebrate, or a place to

stay; CCC has something for all interests and ages. Carrollwood Country Club is known as Carrollwood’s meeting place for the North Tampa Bar Association, the Carrollwood Rotary Club, the Carrollwood Area Business Association (CABA), and many other business, civic and charitable groups. With 5000 square feet of meeting space, gourmet cuisine, and an expert concierge staff, CCC has earned its reputation as one of Tampa’s favorite meeting venues. Whether in the quiet of a distractionfree meeting room, the Casual Bar & Grille, the Formal Dining Room, or on the spacious outdoor terrace; members confidently host and entertain their clients and guests in their Home Club. For members who look for variety and travel options outside of their Home Club, CCC is part of the 20+ affiliate clubs group of Concert Golf properties. Members enjoy knowing that the quality of their Home Club and the benefits of their CCC membership will be matched by reciprocal clubs that span from America’s East Coast to as far west as Phoenix, Arizona. And for those seeking a Florida “Staycation,” few local clubs offer the kind of “Stay and Play” accommodations of Emerald Greens Condo Resort on the property of Carrollwood Country Club. Elegant condo-style accommodations are provided in each of 50 condominiums decorated
like a golfer’s lodge. Additional amenities include golf packages, business center, transportation arrangements, tee times, and luggage/golf club storage. Not only do members enjoy hosting their business colleagues at Emerald Greens, CCC is often the first choice for visiting family members or guests attending special events ranging from weddings, graduation parties, banquets or quinceaneras. For nearly five decades, Carrollwood Country Club has been the first choice for Club members and community members to host their special events in one of four (4) distinctive banquet rooms to include the spacious terrace overlooking the perfect background of the golf course. Many prefer hosting their holiday parties at CCC, where they enjoy the convenience of having a gourmet chef, sommelier, and concierge at their dispose. Each event features access to an onsite coordinator and catering staff who oversee every detail. For the gourmet or the wine connoisseur, CCC features monthly Bacchus Wine Dinners that include a perfectly paired, five-course dinner with featured wines. Top wineries and winemakers are presented each month for the incredible value of $65 per person. For music lovers, CCC includes live music every Friday and special events like “Hot Night in Havana,”

that feature dinner, dancing, drink specials, and live entertainment. Daily specials include 2 for Tuesday, Wednesday Pasta Night, Thursday Prime Rib Night; Friday Live Music; Saturday Apps & Taps; and Sunday Burgers & Brew. The Tennis & Aquatics Center (TAC) offers lots of opportunities to burn some of the calories from the CCC’s gourmet cuisine and libations. There are eight (8) Har Tru Lit Tennis Courts and a state of the art fitness center as well as a Junior Olympic-Sized, heated swimming pool. Kids enjoy the Splash Pad & Playground, and many children learn to play tennis, swim, or golf in Kids Camps and the Resort Sports Camp. With 27 holes of Championship Golf, CCC includes three (3) challenging courses: Cypress, Meadow, and Pine. It’s hard to believe that the lush greens of CCC are a short drive from
downtown Tampa. Reflecting the best that Florida has to offer, the Pine course features seven water holes with the ninth being an island green. Many golfers have been drawn to CCC to play its renowned golf courses, and many stay to enjoy Tampa’s most centrally located “country club.” For a limited time, Carrollwood Country Club is offering 25% off the one-time initiation fee for full memberships and Tennis & Social memberships. First month’s dues are complimentary (up to $399 value) in addition to three (3) months of complimentary cart fees and four (4) complimentary golf guest passes. Some restrictions apply. There has never been a better time to become a member of CCC. For more information or to become a

Caregivers Helping Hand Inc. Gives Baby Shower to Hillsborough County Moms-to-Be on Public Assistance By Deborah Bostock-Kelley Sometimes it takes but a single act of compassion to begin a domino effect that lasts a lifetime. In the 90s, Richedean HillsAckbar was a single mother and was given two baby showers by people wanting to help her in her time of need. She was so impacted by that kindness that she decided to assist other mothers on public assistance. In 2009, the inaugural “Annual Day of Pampering for Moms-To-Be” was birthed and now 10 years later, Richedean and volunteers from the community have touched the lives of 5000 expectant mommies through her nonprofit organization, Caregiver’s Helping Hand, Inc. From 10am to 2pm on Saturday, October 12, the nonprofit is pampering expectant mothers during its “Annual Day of Pampering for Moms-To-Be.” Hosted at New Mt. Zion MB Church and sponsored by Rebein Brothers Trail Lawyers, BJ’S Restaurants, Inc.,
10 SEPTEMBER 2019
The Wellements Family, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Sunshine Health, this special event, open to all Hillsborough County moms-to-be on public assistance, is celebrating a decade providing community baby showers. This year, Richdean expects over 250 women to attend the zoothemed event. The event is also open to siblings with a Kids Zone bounce house and face-painting provided for them. Dads-to-be and Grandmas-to-be are also on the guest list. With horror stories in the news of infant abuse, Richedean provides this resource to help new inexperienced mothers learn now how to prepare for the responsibility of a newborn. As several new mothers don’t have a support network to rely upon and it is easy to become overwhelmed, Richedean brings in community speakers to help train and prepare the young mothers for the stress of having an infant.
Richedean also advocates to leave a violent situation and to not leave a child with someone that could potentially harm the child. She wants to give young mothers a sense of independence. Something that may come easy for others – like balancing a budget – may be difficult for a mother without experience. New mothers dealing with financial hardship don’t necessarily know how to budget for buying diapers, or formula, if not breastfeeding. “They often don’t know how to handle this new responsibility and I actually form a budget so that they can balance it,” she said. “I have someone coming to show them how to make baby food, and someone to show them how to budget their money.” With vendors including Hillsborough County Children’s Board, Healthy Start Coalition, Warriors for Autism, Tampa Family Health Centers, Sunshine Health
Plans and Molina Health Care, expectant moms will also enjoy complimentary food, baby shower cake, gifts and training classes in financial management, couponing, care and child safety for new parents and special classes for the dads sponsored by REACHUP. “The shower will include resources to different agencies

that support parents and items new parents may need like book bags for the Dads filled with items needed for an outing like diapers, wipes, blankets, bottles and change of clothing,” said Richedean. “Mom Care, Reachup Incorporated, and Children’s Board of Hillsborough County have been supporting this event for 10 years and are just a few of the companies supporting us.” Marilyn Westropp, Dr.Tracey Crocker, “The Job Coach” Margaret Debellotte, Dr.Romona Burrowes, and Pastor Laytecia McKinney will provide inspirational speaking for the expectant parents. Pictures and belly painting, as well as massages by Bless These
Hands round out the event to ensure expectant moms will receive a very special day of spoiling. “We are trying to give momsto-be a good start to parenting their newborns by showing a little kindness in their time of need,” she said. “Someone once gave to me. I’m just giving back.” In addition to all the free services and gifts, Richedean herself creates diaper cakes filled with useful baby items which are raffled off for several of the lucky moms-to-be. When asked what the most gratifying comment she’s heard from her guests over the last decade as the event and nonprofit founder, Richedean answered simply. “Thank
you.” Caregiver’s Helping Hand, Inc. accepts gently used and new items for newborns, babies, and toddlers. Items needed include newborn diapers, baby bags, pacifiers, socks, blankets, hats, t-shirts, headbands, rattles, bottles, teething toys, strollers, mobiles, baby wipes, lotion, shampoo, powder, crib sheets, baby swings, baby monitors, and bottle warmers, etc.

TOAST - Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with a Twist
By Carla Selby A relatively new, modern, bright, and immaculately clean Citrus Park eatery allows Tampa Bay residents to experience the magic of Grilled Cheese sandwiches, elevated to the next level with fresh ingredients combined in deliciously creative ways. A grilled cheese sandwich is often heated by placing buttered slices of thick bread, with cheese between the slices, on a frying pan or griddle, making it perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. At Toast Citrus Park, they go above and beyond adding just cheese to their grilled sandwiches; they add quality ingredients such as pastrami, mortadella, chorizo, roast pork, rib eye, corned beef, and a blend of fancy (sometimes imported) cheeses, between those two slices of toasty, buttery bread, to make you go YUM! after every bite. Conveniently located at 8552 Gunn Hwy and open daily from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm, Toast Citrus Park opened its doors in August 2018, and it is already famous for their grilled cheese sandwiches with a twist, affordable prices, and friendly service. Recent customer, Denise T. says, “We visited on Monday late morning. It’s a warm and amicable place. Well laid out, with a large menu and lots of off the menu ‘secret,’ specials. The service is very attentive. I had the Brie
14 SEPTEMBER 2019
and Strawberry stuffed toast, and my husband had the Gyro. They came out fast and hot. The food was so good we had no leftovers. The prices are great. We’ve been looking for a place like this for years. Great quality food, interesting choices, outstanding service, and great prices. How can you go wrong with that? Thanks, Toast, we’ll be back, a lot.” Whether you’re coming in for breakfast or lunch, you’ll find endless homemade choices that will surely satisfy your tastebuds, and make your tummy real happy. With a unique list of weekly specials (all under $10) showcased on a board at the back wall, and a standard, more classic breakfast and lunch menu featuring a large selection of waffles, pancakes, salads, homemade soups, sandwiches, crepes, wraps, and pitas amongst many other options, Toast truly offers something for everyone. “Their weekly and seasonal specials are AMAZING,” says regular, Janet L. “The Almond Joy French Toast is delicious! The atmosphere, food, and service are second to none. Toast is my new favorite place in the area.” If the name Toast sounds familiar, you may know it from their original location at New Port Richey, which has been going strong for almost eight years! Owners Stefano and Gina Mouratos are the dynamic duo behind these two family owned and operated “Mom and Pop” style restaurants, and what a fantastic,
and hard working team they make! Stefano and Gina have two lovely daughters; Evyenia and Eleni, and they want nothing but the best for both of them. “We work very hard for our family,” says Stefano. “My wife and I had a very humble upbringing. We didn’t come from much, so we want to make sure we’re able to provide our daughters with a good life, and allow them to follow their dreams.” Gina and Stefano are as genuine as they are talented. They came up with the innovative Toast concept together, and were able to carefully design a delicious menu from scratch that is fresh, creative, and
stands out from other restaurants in the area. Christina V. rates toast five stars and expressed her Toast love and support by saying, “I love it!!! I was on the hunt for a local mom and pop shop, and I’m so pleased I happened upon Toast. The food is delicious, they offer creative dishes, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is charming. Can’t wait to go back.” Toast Citrus Park regular Ali T. says, “This is my daughter’s favorite place to eat, it literally has become a tradition to go here every Sunday with my little family to get some breakfast. There’s something about this place that makes it unique, let alone I love
For Advertising Info 813-928-6124 I info@nnlflorida.com or visit tbnewsandlifestyles.com
how this little mom and pop place kind of becomes like another home/ family. The owners will remember your face and even sit and talk with you the more you come, which gives it that little extra touch that makes it so amazing. Let alone the wife makes my daughter a special hot chocolate from time to time that my daughter loves. This place is amazing, the people are amazing, and the surroundings are super cute. Definitely worth giving this place a try. Make sure to ask Gina or Stefano about the Secret Specials.” Gina and Stefano split their time between the two Toast locations, overseeing all employees, greeting customers, maintaining inventory, monitoring the preparation and serving of food, ensuring that the restaurant meets all health and food safety regulations, and acting as the perfect example of how to properly run a quality family restaurant. Stefano has worked in the restaurant industry most of his life; as a matter of fact, he started as a server at Outback and Carraba’s, working his way up and acquiring an enormous amount of experience in different positions, making him a Jack of all trades in the restaurant business. Gina and Stefano treated me like family and allowed my mother (who decided to join me for this appointment) and I, the pleasure of tasting multiple delicious dishes, including an option from their “Secret Menu.” I have to admit that the “Secret Hash Toast” is now my favorite breakfast sandwich, ever. Imagine two thick, buttery, crispy slices of toast, grilled to perfection, with a vast amount of melty ooeygooey cheese that overflows from the sandwich, combined with runny eggs, and a flavorful corned beef hash served with a cup of Greek
Lemon Chicken Soup as a side. Yummy! Just make sure you have plenty of napkins around, you’re going to need them! The soups rotate almost daily, so make sure to ask your server about the soup of the day. We also got to try a delicious chorizo omelet served with hash browns, their famous Croque Madame served with seasoned breakfast potatoes, and the most delicious Banana’s Foster Waffles I’ve ever had. I’ve never seen my mother eat as much as she did at Toast. And for someone like her, an extremely picky eater, to devour every dish was a strong testament of how amazing the food was. As if that wasn’t enough, Stefano and Gina surprised us with the last treat; homemade beignets. They were so tasty that my mother ate most of them when I wasn’t looking! Beignets are commonly known in New Orleans as a breakfast food and served with copious amounts of powdered sugar on top. Stefano and Gina serve theirs with the same delicious powdered sugar on top and include a delicious chocolate sauce for dipping. Make sure to order their specialty greek iced coffee; the Greek Frappe, and enjoy it with your meal or on the go! You will not be disappointed. “Many customers call in advance to order their Frappes and pick it up from the store,” says Stefano. “They park in the front, pay and take it, like a quick ‘stop and go’ coffee house.” In the short seven months, they’ve been open, Toast Citrus Park has received a warm welcome, and very positive response by a multitude of locals who were craving that modern originality mixed with a homemade taste, around the Citrus Park area.
Local Chef and food guide Tony L. says “This place is a hidden gem. I know that it recently opened, but I foresee lines out the door soon enough. Probably the only place in Tampa that makes liver and onions that isn’t ‘cash only.’ As a chef, I highly recommend at least two visits. One for lunch and one for breakfast. I can’t wait to go back for the beignets.” First-time visitor Elizabeth M. says, “This was our first visit, and it was AMAZING. Our waitress was so personable and made great recommendations. The coffee was smooth, and they have a ton of rotating specials. I think this is a great addition to the Citrus Park area and we will be back!” A quick google search will prompt you to hundreds of other 5 star reviews from satisfied customers, and Gina and Stefano couldn’t be happier

about the ongoing support the Citrus Park community has shown them. “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters for all they have done to make the new Toast location a reality. Without the generous support of the community, our new location would not have been possible. We’re truly fortunate and blessed to live in such a caring and compassionate community. We thank you for your business, and we look forward to serving you and your family, at either one of our Toast locations.” Toast Citrus Park is located at 8552 Gunn Hwy. Odessa, FL 33556. Open daily from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. Questions? Call them directly at (813) 749-0989. Find them on FB, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media platforms @ToastCitrusPark.

“Joseph Ledo State Farm” Story Continued from page 1 State Farm is a multiproduct company offering homeowners, auto (personal, commercial, and fleet), life insurance, and financial products such as virtual banking services. “We offer a multiple-line discount for home and auto bundled together, as well as a multi-car discount.” Joseph and his team have found that many of his new customers, that have brought their auto and homeowner’s policies to them to review, did not truly understand what they had purchased and the possible repercussions of not being fully covered. “Unfortunately, for some, insurance is a commodity, and people aren’t made to realize the financial risk in simply shopping for the

cheapest plan.” Either in person, or over the phone, Joseph and his team pride themselves in fully reviewing
the individual needs of the customer and explaining to them their available coverage options. “I believe our
success has been due to the fact that I have surrounded myself with some of the most knowledgeable and

professional team members in the industry.” “Every insurance office is not created equally. The experience and education we provide, the explanation of why you need particular limits, the business knowledge, and the acumen – that is where we differ.” While walk-ins are welcome and appointments are available for after hours and Saturdays, Joseph will also make house calls for added customer convenience. “We really try to provide an exceptional customer experience and work with our customers’ schedules,” he said. “If your insurance agent hasn’t taken the time to explain your policy and review your coverage, I encourage you to come into our office to let us review your policy and explain the coverage
and limits to you.” Joseph stressed the importance of educating his customers, always giving the why. When shopping for different types of insurance, the variations and options can be overwhelming, but Joseph and his team take time to get to know their customers, learn about their lifestyles, and help them make the best decision for their family’s budget and their financial future. As a leader in the insurance industry, Joseph and his team have the ability to provide the financial backing and stability of a large company, but also the warmth and personalized attention - quality customer service that so many other call center styled companies are missing. Joseph takes pride in his community involvement choosing organizations that are impactful and
meaningful to his agency. “We support local non-profit organizations such as the Parkinson’s Foundation Tampa Bay, Frameworks of Tampa Bay, Inc., and Metropolitan Ministries to name a few.” “What we at Joseph Ledo State Farm Insurance Agency enjoy best is helping our customers meet their needs. We offer stellar personal customer service. This is proven by the large number of positive Google reviews given to us by our customers. When you call our office during business hours, your call will be answered by one of our team members. That’s what separates the good agencies from the great agencies – we take the time to educate, empower and really help our customers understand their policies.” For more information visit http://www.

Tech Talk with Bob: Another Phish Tale!

Phishing (pronounced “fishing”) is one of the many ways cyber criminals can attack you. “Lane Family Wellness” Story Continued From Page 1 Here’s the thing: Every chiropractor is different, just like your specific needs, and one type of therapy doesn’t really fit all. Do not settle for someone who treats every patient the same way, find someone who will treat you as an individual. Dr. Lane and the caring team at Lane Family Wellness, are dedicated to finding the proper healthcare solutions to target your unique needs and come up with a personalized treatment plan just for you. Dr. Tommy Lane is friendly, caring, and professional. He serves the Carrollwood community and the Tampa Bay area, and he has achieved what in today’s technological era seems impossible; Dr. Tommy Lane has a 5-star Google rating. Meaning every single one of his patients is incredibly happy and satisfied with the treatment received.
Here’s what a few of his most recent patients had to say: “Best and most honest chiropractor on the planet. He has a fabulous staff too!” -Gene C. “Having been to several chiropractors, it is just as important for me to feel comfortable and have a good client-doctor relationship as it is that the proper adjustments are made. Dr. Lane and his office are warm, inviting, and have never disappointed! Dr. Lane’s three-step approach to treatment (adjustment, utilizing machines, and ultrasound massage) is something I haven’t experienced at other practices, and has proven to provide the best healing for me! Super grateful Dr. Lane was recommended to me!” Dana S. “Called for my boyfriend after his car accident because he was having back and neck pain and they worked with his schedule and his insurance. The staff is friendly and wonderful. Dr. Lane is awesome! Great place to go. Would highly recommend it.” Joselynn M. “Every time I see Dr. Lane, he

makes my day so much better! Not only are the adjustments just what I need, but his bedside manner is phenomenal! He listens and works WITH you to come up with a plan of action. His staff is always friendly and willing to help in any way they can. There are also more services than just chiropractic treatment. They offer ultrasound, traction, massage and more! I highly recommend you see him!” -Jenn C
Getting Started
During your initial, noobligation visit to Lane Family Wellness, Dr. Lane will explain the science behind how chiropractic care works, and give you a full evaluation to see if chiropractic care is right for you. “My first job is to find out the patient’s condition and make sure that we can help,” Dr. Lane said. If there is a good fit, Dr. Lane and his team will develop a plan of chiropractic care that is specific to your condition and health goals. “The benefits are limitless. For most, it’s getting out of pain without the use of drugs or surgery. For others, it is getting their quality of life back and regaining their health,” Dr. Lane added. If you have insurance benefits, Lane Family Wellness will take care of filing for you. They always preverify, so the patient knows exactly what the cost will be upfront. “As a consumer and a patient, I don’t like hidden fees and waiting long times for the doctor. We have tried to create total transparency along with
top quality customer service and expertise for our patients,” Dr. Lane expressed. If you are suffering from a spinal condition, sciatica problems, back pain, neck pain, hip pain, headaches, shoulder or knee pain, you owe it to yourself to pay a visit to Dr. Lane. If you wish to improve your mobility or just treat plain old muscular tightness and tension, don’t wait and get used to living with pain, pick up the phone and call Dr. Lane. Chiropractic care is divided into three major categories: emergency, rehabilitation, and maintenance. The severity of your injury will determine the frequency of care and involvement of the treatment plan.
Preventative Care
This is often overlooked, as many patients rather wait until something goes terribly wrong or a simple ache gets unbearable, to seek professional help. Preventative sessions can help you identify early signs of problems and prevent them from developing into serious situations that can influence other parts of your body. A sore shoulder, a tight knee, or side of the hip can throw off your entire posture, putting pressure on the spine and the other half of your body trying to overcompensate. Early adjustments after a car accident can reduce the number of overall visits and relieve symptoms before they get worse. Dealing With Minor Injuries
Minor injuries are nothing to pass on, as they could get worse and often influence our overall wellness. Nagging back pain or neck pain that you ignored after a car accident could result in bad migraines, muscle spasms, tightness, joint numbness, contributing to higher overall stress levels. It’s not about being tough and dealing with the pain, it’s about speeding up the recovery process and getting you feeling great quickly.
Severe or Chronic Pain
Most of the time, if the pain is severe, there shouldn’t be a waiting period. You should seek out help immediately so you can start the healing process and avoid having to deal with major surgery options if the pain becomes unbearable. Whiplash As someone who has been involved in several (not-at-fault) car accidents, I can tell you that whiplash should be taken seriously. Severe and chronic pain is often the result of what is known as “whiplash” after a car accident. Even minor whiplash can develop into serious injuries if left untreated. Whiplash can cause your neck and back to be extremely stiff, sore, and immobile for months because pain medicines can only provide temporary relief. I remember popping ibuprofen like they were skittles, without realizing I was only masking my symptoms.

Chiropractic care was the only thing that helped me get better and live a pain-free life again. Are you suffering from sciatica, bulging disc pain or herniations? Spinal Decompression is a nonsurgical approach to treat these issues and more. Deep Tissue Laser Therapy to promote cellular activity may be just what the doctor ordered to treat inflammation and pain. To aid in tension release and muscle spasms, you can also schedule a massage therapy session. Research shows that a good massage offers a lot of benefits including reduced your heart rate, increased blood circulation, relaxed muscles, improved range of motion and more. Massage therapy also helps quicken recovery from injury. Dr. Lane Treats Everyone Chiropractic care isn’t just for grownups. Infants, children, and adults can all experience subluxations in the spine. Infants and children can become subluxated from birth trauma, other minor or significant injuries and developmental stress. Even if your child is in excellent health, injuries from bumps, bruises, falls and spills accumulate over time and can result in joint pain, discomfort and health issues in their teen and adult years. While most of Dr. Lane’s patients are adults, Lane Family Wellness accepts patients of all ages! “Our youngest patient was days old, and the oldest we’ve treated was ninetyseven years old,” said Dr.Lane. Did you know the body can help heal itself? Platelet Rich Plasma is a non-surgical treatment using a concentrated amount of your own body’s platelets. These platelets stimulate healing and are used to treat various types of soft tissue sprains, strains, and muscle/ ligament/tendon tears. “I recently opened the Wellness side of our clinic in which we can expand our services for our patients,” says Dr. Lane. “We can tailor our services
to their medical needs, like basic primary care, regenerative medicine or joint injections. We are trying to complete the whole circle for our patients and eliminate their issues from falling between the cracks and ultimately bettering their quality of life.” About Dr. Tommy Lane Originally from Tarpon Springs, Dr. Lane attended St. Petersburg Junior College where he earned his Associate of Arts degree and played college baseball. “Working with people and the body was always something I wanted to do,” said Dr. Lane. On a baseball scholarship, he attended Warner University where he double-majored in Exercise Science and Biology. Initially, he planned to be a physical therapist, but after hearing the experiences of a friend who interned in a chiropractic office, he changed paths to become a chiropractor. Dr. Lane earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia where he graduated with honors. After practicing at a multidisciplinary practice for a while, he and his wife Kellie moved back to the Tampa Bay area to be closer to family. For Dr. Lane, giving back to the community is as important as taking care of his family and his patients. He has served on numerous community boards, served as president of the Carrollwood Business Association, Hillsborough County Chiropractic Society and Kiwanis Club of Carrollwood. Over the years, the entire staff at Lane Family Wellness has participated in multiple toy and food drives for local charities in Tampa Bay. A Professional Team Providing Exceptional Care To offer the best customer experience to his patients, Dr. Lane has built a trusted staff. “I have several key players in my office which I rely on daily, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them,” he said. “First of all, my wife, Kellie. She has been with me since I first decided
to go to graduate school.” Then he mentioned his “two main players,” Brittany Howe and Taylor Reinhard, who run the office day in and day out. Medical Director Dr. Yvette Suarez, and ARNP Nicole Demas are also on hand to provide basic primary care, regenerative medicine, and joint injections. “Both are highly skilled practitioners that are very successful in their fields,” says Dr. Lane. The best part of his job, Dr. Lane said, is dealing with people and their healthcare issues. “They want results, not placebos. It means a lot to me that our patients trust us with their healthcare issues and needs and that they ask us for suggestions and guidance.” Don’t get used to living with pain, call Dr. Lane Today!
