An Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon with a Passion – Dr. Michael A. Pikos – Coastal Jaw Surgery By Tom Bostock Most people are born with at least 20 teeth as a child, which become 32 teeth as an adult. These are designed to last a lifetime, with proper care and nutrition. Over time, however, teeth can become decayed or damaged and jaws can develop diseases which can result in tissue and unsightly tooth loss. Fortunately, if you live

anywhere in Palm Harbor, Trinity or Spring Hill (the Tampa Bay area), relief is as close as a quick phone call to Dr. Pikos or one of his expert surgery associates at Coastal Jaw Surgery. A wise man once said that the secret of success is to find something that you love to do and then do it. See “Coastal Jaw” on page 30

March is all about women, so let’s empower them!

Empowerment is defined as “the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights,” (Oxford Dictionary). Women empowerment is a key factor when it comes to economic growth, gender equality, political stability, and social transformation. What better Month to raise awareness to the empowerment of women, than the month of March, in which we celebrate National Women’s History Month? National Women’s History Month was established by presidential proclamation in order to draw attention to and improve the focus on women in historical studies. As recently as the 1970’s, women’s history was virtually an unknown topic in the K-12 curriculum or in general public consciousness. To address the situation, the Education Task Force of the Sonoma County (California) Commission on the Status of Women initiated a “Women’s History Week” celebration in 1978 in an effort to begin adding women’s history into the educational curricula. As the word spread rapidly across the nation, state departments of education encouraged celebrations of National Women’s History Week as an effective means to achieving equality goals within classrooms. By 1986, 14 states had already declared March as Women’s History Month. In 1987, Congress then

declared the entire month of March as National Women’s History Month in perpetuity. A special Presidential Proclamation is issued every year which honors the extraordinary achievements of American women. Last year, President Donald J. Trump said in a proclamation issued on February 28, 2018, “Women are leaders in a range of fields, from business and medicine to government and the arts. And My administration is committed to creating conditions that empower women to achieve even more.” The National Women’s History Theme for March 2019 is: “Visionary Women: Champions of Peace & Nonviolence.” This year we honor women who have led efforts to end war, violence, and injustice and pioneered the use of nonviolence to change society. From women’s rights and racial justice to disarmament and gun control. the drive for nonviolent change has been championed by visionary women. We encourage all of our readers to observe this month and to celebrate appropriately by being respectful towards women, helping them when necessary, cheering them on, complimenting them sincerely, praying for them, and sharing resources with them. We hope you can do this not only in March, but every month of the year. When women feel empowered, they believe in themselves and their ability to control their personal and professional lives. Always act toward others as you would have others act toward you.

Carla Selby

Tech Talk with Bob: Smile when you open your refrigerator. By Bob Dalles We’re all accustomed to the convenience of the light in our refrigerator turning on every time we open the door. Now, cameras inside your “smart” refrigerator can take pictures of your food inside each time you open the door. Your refrigerator may be able to tell you when something has expired. The technology exists where you can connect to your refrigerator through an app on your phone that lets you view the contents inside while you are at the grocery store. Your

12 MARCH 2019

refrigerator learns what you use, how often, and when you are running out of something. You can link your refrigerator to your bank account and have your refrigerator automatically order your groceries for you; and then alert you on your computer or smart phone. More of our everyday devices have become or are becoming “smart.” Items you wouldn’t expect, like your new washing machine, may now connect to the internet. Be aware that it’s not just your refrigerator and washing machine but a myriad of

products on the market today that can connect to your wireless network. Some examples (and this is the short list): cameras (not just security cameras

but cameras in appliances, like your refrigerator); doorbells; exercise bicycles; home theater systems; lamps, light bulbs, and other automated

lighting equipment; door locks; kitchen appliances; set top TV boxes and HDMI sticks; baby monitors; smart (bathroom) scales; lawn sprinklers; smoke alarms; smart TVs; thermostats; washers and dryers; wrist watches; speakers; network extenders; video gaming systems; medical equipment like CPAP machines, insulin pumps and even pacemakers; garage door openers; pool pumps and heaters; digital assistants that listen for your voice commands; and so many more. Estimates expect up to 50 billion devices to be online by the end of the decade!

So, the next time you open your refrigerator door… SMILE, you may be getting your picture taken. Have a tech question? Email it to TechTalk-TBNL@ BobTheComputerGuy.NET. Questions will be selected by the popularity of a topic and answered in this column. If you have a more urgent need or have a unique situation you may schedule an appointment with one of my Professionally Certified Technicians by calling 727-534-4000. Until next time, stay safe on the internet!

It is easy to get caught up in how cool this technology can be. While your fridge can provide you with helpful information when you’re at the grocery store, its programming also sends details about your usage to the fridge’s manufacturer. Perhaps how often you open the doors, your preferred temperature settings, how well the compressor is running, how much ice it’s making; how often you change the water filter; anything its manufacturer has instructed it to monitor. It collects this information and regularly transmits it across your wireless (Wi-Fi) network, through your internet connection, to servers waiting to analyze your data.

SAT AND ACT IMPROVEMENT: SCORING TODAY AND TOMORROW By Dr. Wayne Adams

Upcoming Spring Test Dates in 2019: SAT on May 4 and June 1, and ACT on April 13 and June 8. Note: students are already reserving class times for the two summer exams: ACT on July 13, and SAT on August 24. As you all know by now, my overall purpose of the SAT and ACT Classes is to help my students prepare for their best possible futures … which includes doing their best on these exams. Recently I read an excellent article on BBC News titled, “Can you ‘robot-proof’ your career?” A recent study by McKinsey & Co, one of the top three consulting firms in the world, where I have been a consultant in their Los Angeles office, estimates that robots (particularly Artificial Intelligence) will displace over 800 million workers globally by 2030 (only 12 years away). I don’t think this is some type of “scare tactic”, because other surveys such as from Pew Research confirm the trends. The impacts are already happening from lowskill jobs flipping burgers to high skill jobs like accountants, attorneys, engineers, medical doctors, and different types of programmers. The best analogy in the article is the conclusion of this article: “So perhaps it is not enough to help workers survive a musical-chair job market. Maybe they need to survive in one where the chairs are constantly moving?” What does this mean for our classes, and for college and graduate school

16 MARCH 2019

educations of our students, and for a world where skills become obsolete in only a few years … not 20-30 years as in prior generations? Here are some of the “lifeskills” my students learn in our prep classes: How to triple the speed in learning and keeping vocabulary in their minds for years; How to “read for what they really need” at speeds from 750 to 1500 words a minute; How to “reverse engineer” many types of studying to learn at double to triple the normal rate; and How to develop and use new “mental attitudes” to dramatically reduce test anxiety, work in their “best productivity zone”, and change their whole mental perspective on taking exams and performing in the real world. Their world of tomorrow will require they continually learn quickly, remember more of what they study, constantly adapt, flourish in an era of accelerating change, reinvent themselves many times in the workplace, be flexible in finding and pursuing opportunities,

and especially maintain their “mental attitudes and edge”. All of these are part of our SAT and ACT Prep Classes, and it is a real joy and privilege to help my students in all of these ways. As for the results … well … they speak for themselves as my students “score their best” as part of obtaining their best future educations and ability to do their best, survive, and thrive where their chairs are constantly moving. If You Would Like To Talk More About Your Student … Please contact me at 727253-0639 or send me an e mail at wwa0811@mykolab. com. Dr. Wayne Adams is one of the leading SAT and ACT tutors in the country. His students normally improve 200 – 350 points on the Writing, Reading, Writing and Essay, and Math, and 4 – 7 points on the ACT composite. They have been admitted to eight of the top ten universities in the country, eighteen of the top twenty-five, and many schools in Florida. These

schools include Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Stanford, U Chicago, Duke, U Penn, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Notre Dame, Emory, UC Berkley, UCLA, USC, UNC (Chapel Hill), NYU, Northeastern (Boston), Boston College, Georgia Tech, Service Academies: Navy - Air Force - and Merchant Marine - Penn State, LSU, Auburn, UF, U Miami, FSU, USF, UCF, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, FIU, New College of Florida, Stetson, and Julliard – Manhattan - New England - and Berklee Conservatories of Music. Many have received academic, athletic, or music scholarships. This year, he also tutored three juniors who scored at the national merit finalist/semi-finalist levels on the most recent PSAT. He is a former Dean of a Graduate School of Business and Full Professor, and began college teaching at the University of Maryland in 1968. He has degrees and advanced studies at Harvard, Yale, Vanderbilt, Columbia International, and Luther Rice.

Let The Grout Guy Bring your Tile and Grout Back to Life!

By Lisa Stephens Does the tile or grout in your kitchen or bath need a facelift? It’s amazing what a difference The Grout Guy, Cole Wilson, can make when it comes to restoring tile and grout. His ability to deep clean just about any surface including ceramic, porcelain and natural stone flooring or walls and then seal it to maintain its look enables him to leave the customer well satisfied. In business since 2001, Cole continues to learn about new products and techniques in order to serve his customers with the latest technology and processes. Because he custom mixes his own grout colors, he

18 MARCH 2019

can create any color the customer desires! The possibilities are endless. Originally from New Hampshire, Cole received his original training in construction and masonry when he served in the Navy as a Seabee. After leaving the Navy, he went to work at a cable company but was interested in owning his own company and working for himself. “My wife’s best friend started a business in Arizona doing the same thing and I thought ‘Hey, that sounds interesting and sounds like something I’d be great at.’” He took a chance on going for his dream and never looked back. As sole owner, Cole said he hopes to expand

his business some day but is reluctant to depend on others to be as detail oriented as he is when it comes to serving his clients. “I am a perfectionist. I cannot hire anyone that isn’t as meticulous as me.” His wife steps in to help with the phone calls or paperwork when she isn’t working her other job. “But all the decisions are made together. We’re a team,” he shared. Get the ball rolling on that project you’ve been putting off. Initial contact is made by phone or through his website. Afterwards, Cole will come out to take a

look at the project you need help with. During that visit, he will give you a price and let you know how long the job will take. Every job is unique. “I always tell the customer about how long the job will take. The shortest is about half a day, but recently I had a customer who had showers, floors, driveway, pool screens and decks all included and it took me a week,” he said. The average time to complete a job, however, is about a day. He comes out to take a look prior to any job because there are so many variables to consider for each project. “Some showers are beyond repair and I will let the customer know the

For Advertising Info 727-943-0551 I info@nnlflorida.com or visit tbnewsandlifestyles.com

honest truth,” he shared. Some clients actually want tiles replaced instead of just cleaning the entire tile and grout areas. He educates the customer on how each completed project might look based upon the work they want done and he listens to the customer when they’re describing what they want the end result to be. Once an agreement has been made on the work to be done and a price, he begins as soon as possible. “It depends on the month and how busy we are but it’s usually the next week or week after,” he explained. Sometimes special equipment or supplies have to be ordered. “I treat each job like I would one for my home or my parents’ home. I do what it takes to make the customer love the floor or shower or whatever.” Upon completion, Cole leaves the customer with a magnet listing maintenance instructions. One tip he offers is what he considers the most important aspect of

maintaining tile and grout; dry the floor or shower each and every time it is used or cleaned. In his own shower, he keeps a squeegee close by and uses it after every shower on the walls. This, he explained, prevents water from sitting on the tile and staining the grout. “So drying is the key,” he said. For floors, he color seals the grout so stains cannot penetrate the grout. Dirt, however, can form in a layer over the seal. For that, he uses Dawn dish detergent and a wet cloth to clean the floor and grout areas. He follows that with a dry towel and uses his toes or hands to wipe up the dirt. This, he says, keeps the floor looking new for a long time. The Grout Guy does more than kitchen and baths! Cole goes outside too! “I do pressure washing of patios and screens and am certified in pressure washing and paver sealing and restoring with United Association of Mobile Contract Cleaners. He also takes on commercial projects, which are among his favorites. He has restored concrete floors, cleaned tile floors, removed epoxy grout off floors and changed the color of the grout. He often has large tile company call him to request his help. “If I can’t help, I can find a person who can,” he said. Call 727-213-5723 today to schedule your free estimate appointment. Jake Lewis: Gregg Schindler State Farm Agency March Male Athlete of the Month Story By Emma Diehl

The male Gregg Schindler

State Farm Agency Student Athlete of the Month, a junior named Jake Lewis, is one of the top male weightlifters, and a leading player on the boys’ basketball team. Lewis took first place in all four regular season weightlifting meets, and finished second overall in the weightlifting conference. Lewis attributed much of his success in the sporting world to his coaches who have helped him through his high school career. “Coach McFarland helped me with what weights to do while working out, with my programming, and just helped me to get stronger over all. Coach Vetter helped me a lot with basketball, with shooting, dribbling, and other important skills like that,” Lewis said. Being one of the top players in the state requires a lot of practice and years of experience on Lewis’s part. “I joined as a freshman, but I also had some experience prior to 22 MARCH 2019

joining the team that year,” Lewis said. Lewis is an avid weightlifter, and enjoys the sport not only for its competition aspect, but as a hobby as well. “Weightlifting is just a fun sport for me. I have improved a lot since I originally joined the team. It’s an interesting sport, and I love to do it, even just by myself,” Lewis said. Weightlifting is not the only sport that Lewis enjoys participating and competing in. He was also on the J.W. Mitchell High School Basketball varsity basketball team. “Basketball is my second favorite sport, and it’s also really fun for me. It’s fun to work with my team, and we work really well together,” Lewis said. Lewis has

committed himself to continue to represent the Mustangs on both the weightlifting and basketball teams. He plans on continuing to stay in sports through his college career, though he did not state which college he would be attending in the future. The Gregg Schindler Female Athlete of the Month for March is senior Aja Graham, a leading player on the girls varsity soccer team at J.W. Mitchell High School. Graham boasts 31 goals and 18 assists for the season. Although she is successful in the sport currently, every expert was once a beginner. Graham’s soccer career started at age seven and has not stopped since. “My dad put a basketball and a soccer ball in front of me and said pick one, and I really didn’t want to play basketball,” Graham said. As a forward on the team, Graham does not keep her talents to Mitchell alone. She also plays club soccer for the Tampa Bay

Dress For Success - Empowering Women to Rise and Succeed by: Lisa Stephens For many, what we decide to wear each day is a simple question that leads us into our closets to make our selections among the variety of options available to us. Yet, for others, who are seeking an opportunity to better themselves or better the living conditions for their families, this question is a daunting and confidence debilitating dilemma. For many women across the Tampa Bay area, DRESS FOR SUCCESS has been there for them. This not-for-profit organization has enabled women to go out and gain employment, or further their chances of advancement in their current employment situations. Their mission statement is “To empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support,

26 MARCH 2019

professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.” The Tampa Bay branch of this incredible organization has done just that, and more. Executive Director of the Tampa Bay affiliate, Katie McGill, began her relationship with DRESS FOR SUCCESS - Tampa Bay as a volunteer on their Advisory Board. With years of nonprofit experience behind her before taking on this role, this organization captured her heart. Katie explained this organization began in 1996 when three nuns started the effort in the basement of their church. When Nancy Lublin received a $5,000 inheritance from her great-grandfather, she wanted to do something with those funds that would be lasting. She teamed up with three nuns in her area and created a boutique in the basement of a church in the

Manhattan, New York area. Fast forward to today; DRESS FOR SUCCESS is now available to women worldwide seeking economic development and an opportunity to better themselves personally. In the beginning, the effort was to provide a suit to women who were set to go on a job interview. This met the need of many women who were not economically advantaged to afford a new suit to go on a job interview. The scope of DRESS FOR SUCCESS has since expanded and now provides clothing, shoes, purses, and accessories to women who have set interviews for potential jobs and are yearning to make the best first impression possible. Today, DRESS FOR SUCCESS has 150 affiliate chapters in 30 different countries. According to Katie, the Tampa Bay affiliate was the first in Florida and just tenth of the overall affiliates world

-wide, since its’ founding, for women to go to seeking help. Who can seek the help of this incredible opportunity? According to Katie, it is, “Anyone who can get here from around the Tampa Bay area.” They receive referrals from numerous organizations around the Tampa Bay area. If women are seeking help getting a job or rebuilding their lives, they can call the office directly to be directed to an organization that can help them seek an opportunity with DRESS FOR SUCCESS. Originally, the organization helped women from ages 18 to 38. However, in recent, they have discovered an opportunity and need to help older women as well and this organization has risen to meet the needs of those as well! Katie stated, “I’ve seen homeless women with a PH. D. searching for jobs. We want to help all women seeking employment.” She further explained DRESS

For Advertising Info 727-943-0551 I info@nnlflorida.com or visit tbnewsandlifestyles.com

FOR SUCCESS works with numerous area organizations who refer clients to them. Clients will receive a phone call to set an appointment to meet with a personal shopper to select the best outfit for that interview they have scheduled. At that initial appointment, the client will work the personal shopper to select an outfit, purse, and accessories for their initial interview. The purse will include a personal note of encouragement to the receiver. If the person gets the job, they are welcome to return to DRESS FOR SUCCESS to select an additional six outfits to get them started in their career. Meeting the Needs of others McGill notes two special opportunities available to women at DRESS FOR SUCCESS. For women seeking employment, she references their “Going Places” program. This is a seven-week program focusing on the efforts of gaining employment. The program includes interview training, both face to face and telephone interviews, coaching and even dress rehearsals for women seeking employment. Their “Professional Women’s Group” is a support for those women already employed but are seeking coaching opportunities on how to get a raise, promotion or how to excel in their current positions. McGill has many success stories to share. She shares the story of “Tina” who spent 38 years in prison and one of her first stops from behind bars was DRESS FOR SUCCESS. McGill advised her, “You can’t get clean until you come clean,” when advising Tina on her hopeful interviews to get a job. Tina went through the DRESS FOR SUCCESS program and now is employed as a supervisor at her current place of employment. “Nicolet,” from their Professional Women’s Group,” has

exceeded as well. This is a group of already employed women. They meet to hear encouraging speakers to motivate attendees. Each year, one woman from the group is selected to attend a leadership summit. After they return, they are granted $500 to work on a community service project that will better their community. Nicolet created a project than enabled elderly in her community to garden. “She created elevated garden boxes that allowed elderly in wheelchairs to garden again!” said McGill. This enabled the elderly in local senior communities to get out and plant and garden, which also served as great hand therapy for those participating. How You Can Help The current needs of DRESS FOR SUCCESS are monetary donations to keep these programs going. They also seek toiletry items such as deodorant for incoming clients. Another need is dry snacks. “A snack for me is a meal to someone else,” said McGill. Bottled water and packaged snacks are always welcome. Clothing and accessory donations are always welcome. Monetary donations would help them continue the programs they currently offer. McGill’s motivation comes from her own experience. It could have been me walking through that door seeking help. I know what it’s like to be unemployed or to cry through the night over something. I don’t ever want to forget that.” Thank you, Katie McGill, and DRESS FOR SUCCESS for being there for so many in need in the Tampa Bay area! For more information or donation and volunteer opportunities, visit tampabay.dressforsuccess. org. For those seeking local help through this organization, call 813-259-1876.

Dr. Pikos’s website, www. coastaljaw.com, explains the passion for dentistry of its founder and CEO of Coastal Jaw Surgery and how this translates to the compassionate care that he and his associate surgeons and staff provide for all of their patients: “Growing up I was always impressed with people who would say that their work is their play. Little did I know that I too would be able to say the same thing about what I do today. Indeed, my work is my play in addition to my avocations and my family commitments. As both a clinician and educator, I have great passion for what I do and feel truly blessed to be able to provide both clinical expertise and state of the art technology to help improve my patients’ quality of life. My professional niche involves surgical implant reconstruction including innovative hard and soft tissue grafting techniques and the use of high technology. I am unconditionally committed to providing compassionate, empathetic, and knowledgeable care to treat patients as I would my own family.”

That is certainly a ringing endorsement for the high achieving Campbell, Ohio native, Dr. Michael A. Pikos, who graduated with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa) from Ohio State University, followed by honors graduation from the Ohio State University’s College of Dentistry. Completing his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Montefiore Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Pikos founded Coastal Jaw Surgery in 1983, expanding it to its present practice with oral maxillofacial surgeons; Dr. Kenneth Anderson, Dr. Jose Lazaro, Dr. Jason Blundell; prosthodontist, Dr Phillip Hedger; and periodontist, Dr. Lindsey Pikos Rosati. According to Dr. Pikos, who has placed more than 23,000 implants and has done thousands of hard and soft tissue grafting procedures, in 1990 he decided to concentrate exclusively on implant dentistry, founding the world-renowned Pikos Institute, teaching advanced bone and soft tissue grafting techniques to more than 4000 colleagues, representing all 50 states and 43 countries. Patients can rely on the recognized skill and expertise of Dr. Pikos. “Diplomate” signifies certification as

a specialist by a board of his peers. Dr. Pikos’s impressive certifications include: Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Board of Oral Implantology/ Implant Dentistry,

International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and American Academy of Osseointegration. In 2006, he was awarded the prestigious Aaron Gershkoff Memorial Award by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. His many other achievements

are too numerous to mention; his associates are equally credentialed. Dr. Pikos offers a variety of professional services to his patients, including his registered trademark, Same Day Teeth process, which provides his patients with complete teeth implants in a single day, eliminating the need for time consuming revisits to fit and attach the teeth. Candidates for this process include those who are missing some or all of their teeth and have adequate bone which is true for the vast majority of patients that are seen. Most patients can have their implants and permanent teeth all at one appointment, hence the name Same Day TeethTM. Because jaws can atrophy from lost teeth, some patients may require bone grafts to replace lost bone tissue. If you think you might be a candidate, call 1-800-New-Look or 727877-0011 (outside of Florida) for your no- obligation consultation. Other services and procedures offered by Coastal Jaw Surgery include: tooth extraction, wisdom tooth removal, pathology/biopsy, soft tissue regeneration and grafting, reconstructive surgery, and sinus lifts. Their expert periodontist, Dr. Lindsey Pikos Rosati, specializes in the full scope

of periodontal procedures that includes periodontal plastic surgery and therapy, periodontal-orthodontic procedures, dental implants and bone grafting. Their equally qualified prosthodontist provides a comprehensive range of prosthetic dental services. The loss of your teeth can have a dramatic effect on both your self-esteem and self-confidence but don’t despair, Dr. Pikos and his talented surgeons and staff are just a phone call away.

Coastal Jaw Surgery is open from Monday through Thursday, from 8 AM to 5 PM – Friday 8 AM to 4 PM.

“Cleaning Angels” continued from page 1 Pat and Margaret La Grazie of Timber Greens in New Port Richey said “The number of years Donna has been in business is definitely very impressive and people like stability. We hired Donna in 1995 and at that time she was cleaning our home by herself. After she broke her ankle in 2003, she hired her first employee and now sixteen years later we are still completely satisfied with all her accomplishments. We highly recommend Donna’s Cleaning Angels.” Dick Maier of Villa Rosa in Lutz said “We are so happy to see the girls each time because they do such a great job. We also love the customer service Donna provides us. It’s hard to find such caring and professional customer service these days. I wish Donna only continued success with her growing and thriving business!” Carol O’Neil of Odessa shared, “I have tried other cleaning services over the years with no luck. I was very frustrated. None of them were as dependable or detailed oriented as Donna’s Cleaning Angels.” They’ve been in business for almost 28 years because of the level of service provided to their customers. Donna and Steve realize the importance of staying in tune with customers’ needs and continue to stay strong and committed in a competitive market. Donna has always devoted herself to growing her client base. She knows that by providing a stellar cleaning service, she is instrumental in helping

people enjoy their homes again. “Besides the influence of my family, I attribute the success of my business to a determined attitude and tremendous amount of ambition, unstoppable drive and commitment to my clients and employees,” she explained. Donna’s strong work ethic comes from a long line of hard working family members. For more than 70 years, her family has owned an Italian restaurant in the small town of Gorham, located in the white mountains of New Hampshire. Steve has owned and operated several successful businesses in the Tampa Bay area over the years. “I’m always looking for something to do!” he said. Always eager to work and serve his customers. Keeping themselves educated on the latest products and newly introduced surfaces in the home is also a big part of their success. The many different materials used today for countertops, appliances and flooring are far different than they were years ago. Having knowledge of cleaning products and what surfaces they’re safe for is crucial. Even the way cleaning products are applied is important. “We train our staff on the little things that can make a big difference when it comes to safety,” Donna said. Clients are given a friendly reminder call on the day prior to a scheduled appointment. Once services are complete, a follow up call is made to be sure the client is fully satisfied. Donna’s Cleaning Angels is fully

licensed, bonded and carries workman’s compensation on every employee. They adhere to all OSHA rules and guidelines. While no job is too large or too small, they specialize in large homes. “We have several long term clients in 7,000 to 10,000 SF homes. Services for more than just your home! Donna’s Cleaning Angels can make your workplace sparkle as well. Do not mistake them for your typical janitorial service. What’s the difference, you ask? A lot! “Janitorial services vacuum, empty the trash and clean up the

restrooms,” Steve explained. Donna and her “angels” clean your office like they clean your home. Attention to detail is a must when it comes to making your office or professional practice shine for your own customers. They vacuum, dust all surfaces, clean the blinds and fans, windows, mirrors and more. “We clean everything!” She said. “We’re not in and out in 30 minutes.” They currently have scheduling opportunities to add more commercial clients, such as Real Estate offices, dental and physician practices, automotive dealerships and others to their roster.

The services don’t end with residential and commercial cleaning. They can cover your outdoor cleaning needs as well! Through their Simply the Best division of Donna’s Cleaning Angels, they can pressure wash just about any outdoor surface including driveways, sidewalks and more. They also offer window cleaning, inside and out! The company name comes from an experience Donna had with an elderly patient at a Hospice facility, one of her first cleaning jobs when she started the company as Donna’s Cleaning Service. The two formed a sweet friendship and to show her love for her friend, Donna gifted her with a crystal angel. It was suggested by a nurse at the facility that Donna change the company name to Donna’s Cleaning Angels. The

rest, as they say, is history! Donna’s Cleaning Angels work as a team. They are always presentable, friendly and bring everything they need to provide an exceptional cleaning. Donna explained “My teams come in with a large canvas kit with all their cleaning supplies. All of which are of the highest quality. The cleaning teams are trained on products to use. There is a lot more to providing a good cleaning service than just the cleaning. It is the care and professionalism that comes from all of us from me and Steve with the scheduling as well as the teams who really care about doing a good job.
