Board Certified Urologists Juan N. Otheguy, MD, FACS and Richard I. Rabinowitz, MD, FACS have more than forty years of combined experience in Urological medicine. “We are different because we are more personally involved in the care of our patients,” says Dr. Rabinowitz. “We don’t use nurse practitioners or physician assistants to see patients in our place. We collaborate and work together regularly, and ninety-nine percent of the time, patients are seen by us at every visit. This is important because they need to be able to trust us and really tell us what is going on. Urology is a growing field, and not because the problems are new, but because the subject matter is less taboo than it was decades ago.” See “Urology” on page 34.

INSIDE THIS ISSUE:

When it’s time to make an appointment to see an urologist, it can be intimidating to make that call because many times, for both women and men, the reason for the call is something that isn’t easy to talk about, maybe even embarrassing. It’s important to find a doctor who not only has an excellent reputation for great results, but one who is trained on the latest advancements in treating urologic disease and dysfunction. Maybe just as important, you’ll want an urologist that you can confide in and one who will be personally invested in providing your care rather than passing you off to an assistant. You’ll find two such doctors at Urology Professionals in Trinity.

Gasparilla fun spilled over into the halls of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital on Monday, January 30th, when members from seven local pirate krewes – beads in hand – teamed up with young patients to invade the hallways, creating their own Gasparilla parade! Dressed as pirates and riding atop their parade floats (hospital stretchers and wheelchairs transformed into pirate-worthy vessels) the young pirate patients threw beads and other trinkets to hospital staff and visitors along a special parade

route. Various departments and hospital staff helped to decorate the “floats” that safely sailed the happy pirates. Events like this showcase the community support that makes Tampa Bay and its surrounding communities such a great place to live, work, and play! Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles sends a big “GREAT JOB GUYS!” shout out to the hospital staff at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and to the seven local participating

The Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group “Your Partners in Tax & Retirement Planning” With the 2016 tax return deadline looming, it is a perfect time for those age 60 or older to take advantage of a flat-rate $69 fee to have their income taxes prepared and filed with a company that is trusted for going the extra mile for its clients. Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group extends their $69 flat-rate fee for federal returns (state returns are included if applicable) to Government Employees, Municipal Workers, Teachers, Law Enforcement Personnel, Firefighters/EMTs, Retired and Active Military of ANY age. All tax returns are prepared by one of the firm’s experienced Tax Preparers or IRS Enrolled Agents. Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group has an experienced team of financial, tax, insurance, and legal professionals who help to educate their clients on important subjects including: reducing asset risk, unnecessary taxes, diversifying portfolios, the importance of wills/trusts and planning for income during retirement. The firm is committed to providing exemplary service while displaying the highest standards of ethics and professional knowledge. They are approved members of the National Ethics Association and the National Association of Tax Professionals. Edward G. Rizzotto, Owner and President, is an Insurance Agent and Financial Representative who holds both a state-regulated license to offer insurance products and a securities license to offer specific investment products. Meet the Rizzotto Team Ed Rizzotto, Owner/President, moved to Florida 45 years ago from New York, grew up in Pinellas County and has been a Trinity resident since 2000. A graduate of Clearwater Central Catholic High School, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from National-Louis University in Evanston, IL. Ed also served both active and reserve duty for 13 years in the U.S. Coast Guard. He started his Insurance and Financial career over 20 years ago as an agent for Allstate Insurance. Then promoted to Agency Manager, he was responsible for overseeing 22 agencies in southwest Florida. In 1999, he joined a local retirement planning firm, where he helped hundreds of people with tax

10

and retirement planning for over six years. Ed Rizzotto enjoyed the opportunity to benefit the community, and was determined to create a complete local business where he could help clients (both pre-retirees and current retirees) save money on their taxes, better manage their portfolios, plan for the future and focus more on enjoying their retirement years – and The Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group was established in 2006. Lorrie Rizzotto joined the firm in 2009 as Director of Marketing. Prior to joining Ed in running their family business, Lorrie specialized in corporate incentive and meeting planning, and worked at Allstate’s Regional Florida office for 11 years before becoming an Independent Meeting Planner with HelmsBriscoe, where she achieved “President’s Club” status being Top 50 in the country. Married 28 years this November, Lorrie and Ed have two daughters attending the University of South Florida. Ed and Lorrie have a great team at Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group. Dori Greeson, Administrative Assistant and Office Manager, gives everyone a warm reception, oversees the office, and also is a licensed Life and Health Agent. Nayda Stern, IRS Enrolled Agent, has more than 22 years of income tax preparation experience and as an IRS Enrolled Agent, is able to represent Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group clients before the IRS. Alton Scott, Insurance Consultant, with more than 17 years of experience in the Banking, Insurance and Financial Services industry, has extensive knowledge in the areas of health insurance, Medicare supplements and Medicare. Scott holds a state-regulated Life and Health License and a Securities license to provide certain investment products. With 30 years of experience, Ennis Griffith, IRS Enrolled Agent, has unlimited privileges to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Griffith is the former long time chief financial officer of a publicly owned, 16-office savings bank. Former Marine Sigmund Mytyk, is an IRS Enrolled Agent, and has 20 years of experience as a tax preparer and 11 years as an IRS Enrolled Agent. Ed Rizzotto, owner, Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group ice experience, as well as experience in the banking business. Nic also has his 4-40 license, which allows him to represent Ed in offering Property and Casualty Insurance. Ed and Nic will work as a team to offer Auto and Homeowner's insurance to all clients. He has come on board this year to assist Ed and gain knowledge and experience to begin a career as a Financial Planner. Reducing Tax Liability in Retirement The first thing Ed and his team will want to look at is your past tax returns, explaining, “We’ve had people who had other advisors and financial planners who convinced them to make changes, not aware of the tax impacts. To me, the tax return is the most important document the client owns, that’s why it is the first thing we look at when the client meets us for their initial appointment. If there is an investment or change that could cause a taxable event, we know that up front.” Ed and his team are very tuned in to their clients’ needs and concerns. “Saving on taxes, reducing or eliminating taxation on social security and protecting the financial wellbeing of a spouse after another’s death – those are things that my clients are concerned about,” explains Ed. “Today, people also want alternatives to the low interest rate environment provided by CDs and money market accounts.” He adds, “If clients are already collecting social security when they come to us, they want to know how they can reduce or eliminate taxes

FEBRUARY 2017

on not only social security income, but their overall taxes as well. A major concern today and what I believe will be a concern for years to come for preretirees and current retirees is how to obtain ‘Guaranteed Income for Life’ from your retirement and non-retirement plans. Unfortunately many employer sponsored plans and individual IRAs do not offer this benefit when you retire. We will show you how to put some things in place now that will enable you to set up lifetime income down the road. This is income you will never outlive, similar to a pension. We spend many hours with our clients to put sound plans in place by sharing ‘real time’ tax, income and social security analysis through some of the most sophisticated software. We want our clients to leave our office with a better understanding on what their income needs will be in retirement, and how to control, reduce or possibly eliminate taxes.” Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group takes a team-oriented approach to tax, retirement and estate planning and Mr. Rizzotto welcomes discussions from clients’ estate planning attorneys. If you do not already have an attorney, Mr. Rizzotto often refers clients to estate planning attorneys Stephen E. Hitchcock and Martha V. Evans from Hitchcock Law Group, who frequently meet with clients in the office to review Wills and Trusts. “They can help you make sure your plan is up to date and our staff will make sure your accounts and beneficiary designations coordinate with your estate plan.” Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles

While taxes are a large part of The Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group, the majority of their clients also utilize the firm’s other services including investments, retirement planning, long term care, annuities, life insurance, auto and homeowners insurance, wills and trusts and small business bookkeeping services. Ed says, “Clients like the opportunity we provide to get everything taken care of in one place.” A word of advice, “You’re never too young to start saving for retirement,” says Rizzotto. “We have found that many people we meet who are still working have changed jobs about every five to seven years, and many of those people left their retirement plans at their old employers (i.e. 401k, 403b, 457 and TSP plans, etc). Many of these plans can be rolled over to individual IRAs or Roth IRAs, thus giving the client more control and the ability to have someone to advise them.” The Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group is located in the community of Long Leaf in the Florida Design Consultants Center at 3030 Starkey Boulevard in Trinity. A second location is in Pinellas County at 1034 Belcher Road South in Largo.

that either! “We are the only ones that manufacture custom made mobile home doors – because they are shorter than the standard height and are custom made in our door shop,” says Carole. “Something new offered is crown molding and baseboards for contractors and homeowners and our prices beat our competition.” Custom Crafted Doors Raphael Sasso, aka Ralphie, is the master craftsman working behind the scenes at Custom Windows and Doors’ workshop. Carole recalls meeting Ralphie in ’03, “We were working on a very big job and were shorthanded. I needed someone skilled and hired Ralphie. We sent him out and the customer called and said, ‘Where did you find this guy? He is phenomenal!’ And he really is. His favorite word is integrity and he cares about the integrity of the door because his name is on it.” Ralphie describes his work style

Carole has a great team in place including Mark Halliwell, who says, “This company takes true pride in providing excellent service – more than most. And because of that, we have a large referral base. Our installers have been working with us from 9 to 26 years. The number of years of combined experience and the number of years that much of her team has stayed with Carole show the type of company that Custom Windows and Doors is, and the reason customers come back to us.” Throughout the years, Custom Windows and Doors has earned a stellar reputation for fair pricing, excellent service, and honesty. Having served the area for a quarter of a century, Custom Windows & Doors has come across, and then helped to resolve, nearly every problem imaginable when it comes to windows and doors. This is where contractors shop!

Laura M., of Holiday, wrote, “I replaced all of my windows in my house with this company and it's the first company that does exactly what they say they're going to do and on time! Every one of the employees I encountered from the office to the installers were true professionals and were a delight to work with and I would recommend this company wholeheartedly.” You’ll find what you need at Custom Windows and Doors of Pasco, but you won’t find a highpressure sale. Carole says, “We’re affordable. Our customer service goes above-and-beyond because every customer is valuable to us and they are making an investment in their homes.” Custom Windows and Doors of Pasco is located at 7940 US 19 N in Port Richey. Choose Gator Cleaning Solutions for Your Floor Care Needs Because A Clean Floor Equals a Healthier Home! By Julie Kanehl The floors in our homes take a lot of abuse, so when vacuuming and mopping are no longer doing the trick, it’s time to call in the professionals at Gator Cleaning Solutions. Floors can become a breeding ground for dirt, dust, mold and germs. To keep the house clean, the floors need special attention, and that’s why Gator Cleaning Solutions is the popular choice for local residents who want their floors to look and feel like new. Offering residential cleaning services for carpet, tile, grout, hard wood, and even marble and stone, Gator Cleaning Solutions cleans each surface the professional way, making sure that your floors receive a deep clean, while preserving the integrity and quality of your flooring. That’s not all! Gator Cleaning Solutions offers upholstery cleaning, pet stain and odor removal and emergency restoration services. One local customer said, “I can’t say enough about this company. ily owned and professional employees! Showed up on time and very knowledgeable and efficient. My carpets looked great afterwards! Highly recommend Gator Cleaning Solutions for your services!” Chomp that Dirt, Grime & Mold the Gator Cleaning Solutions Way! Located in the Trinity/Odessa area, Gator Cleaning Solutions is owned by local husband and wife team, Marcus and Erin Meyer. Their company has built a reputation for being one of Tampa Bay’s premier commercial and office space cleaning companies. Built on trust, word-ofmouth and high quality service, they recently acquired Trinity Carpet Care with the bonus of bringing on the company’s owner Tom Maloney, who has more than two decades of experience, thousands of loyal customers, and an impeccable reputation. Tom Maloney said, “Our business offers great pricing (we offer specials), and quality of service. Built on referrals

and repeat business, we take our time and do it right.” Carpeting remains the popular choice for bedrooms, cozy family rooms, and any part of the house where you want to kick off your shoes after a long day and rest. That said, carpets are a magnet for dirt, dust, and even mold. But when Gator Cleaning Solutions steam cleans your carpeting, not only will your carpets look and feel new again, you will increase the air quality in your home, and lengthen your carpet’s lifespan by approximately 50%. While some companies are in and out in twenty minutes, leaving your carpet wet for days, the Gator Cleaning Solutions team takes expert care of your flooring. Maloney said, “When we steam clean the carpet, the drying time is four to six hours, and when we are there we wear the plastic booties, we make sure the customer is happy, and we leave a free bottle of spotter the same stuff that we use on tough stains - for our customers to use.” He

adds, “We also offer a dry method for deep cleaning the carpet, for those customers who prefer it.” One local resident said, “Gator Cleaning is very professional, friendly and reasonably priced. They took their time and did an amazing job on our carpets. Our playroom carpet looks like new again! I highly recommend Gator Cleaning!” For homeowners with ceramic tile, the grout is where the germs and stains like to gather. Over time, tile can lose its luster, grout can become dark, and many people make plans to remove it and start fresh. However, removing and replacing ceramic tile and grout is incredibly inconvenient, messy and expensive, when most of the time, all that’s needed is a good, thorough cleaning from Gator Cleaning Solutions. Many homeowners are shocked to see the difference in their tile and grout. Often, the tile and grout look many shades lighter, and customers are relieved that they didn’t spend the thousands to replace.

We take our time to prepare food the proper way, instead of the easy way. Better Health & Nutrition Has What You Need to Boost Your Immune System By Brie Thompson It’s not a far drive to find a fullservice health food store that provides the best and most up-to-date quality natural products and supplements. Better Health & Nutrition is located at River Crossing Center on Little Road in New Port Richey, and owners Peter and Janice Dunn know how difficult it can be to choose products that are the right fit for your body’s needs. Their collective expertise is impressive and they have a loyal following of customers who appreciate that Janice and Peter will make every effort to help you find the wholesome products you need in your quest for the healthiest you that you can be. Peter uses his knowledge of grocery distribution and Janice her extensive background in holistic health & nutrition to help customers reach their goals in a meaningful way with quality natural products that are matched to each person’s wellbeing and health goals. If you feel like you need a fresh start, there is a new product by Renew Life that is a three-day cleanse, which is great for helping to eliminate waste and toxins and restore regularity. One easy way to move toward better health and boost the immune system is to take nutritional supplements, and Better Health & Nutrition carries only top choices at competitive prices; products such as Enzymedica’s 100% daily whole food nutrition multi-vitamin with enzyme activated nutrients – a great choice for overall health benefits. Looking for a natural energy boost? Peter and Janice explained that Matcha is a green tea powder ten times more potent than regular green tea; even better, it is energizing, alkalizing, detoxifying and rejuvenating. Matcha helps boost metabolism, and can be mixed in your hot or cold drink as well as smoothies. February is the height of flu season, which can affect family members of all ages. against the flu. Nature’s Way Standardized Elderberry taken over an extended period of time is noted for it’s antioxidant benefits which can help to fight cold, flu, bacterial and viral infections. Buried Treasure brand has a product called Acute Cold and Flu (ACF), which also boosts your immune system and can assist you in recovering from the flu. Children and adults can take ACF for a couple of weeks when first feeling as though they are getting the flu. Additionally, Janice also spoke about local seasonal raw honey, by Eden’s Nectar. Unprocessed honey contains both pollen & honey & acts as an immune booster. Straight exposure to pollen triggers allergies, yet straight exposure to the local honey with pollen has the opposite effect. In allergy season, visit with Janice and Peter to discuss the different kinds of honey that may prove beneficial and prevent suffering through allergies. In keeping with their philosophy to provide only the best products in natural supplements, vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts, organic enhancement products and natural foods, Peter and Janice also constantly educate themselves on new products and advancements in natural health and alternative medicine. Some other popular products Janice recommends based on customer popularity are: Probulin which includes the MakTrek 3-D Probiotic Delivery System, Terry Naturally Curamin Stop Pain Now, and Solgar PM Phytogen Complex. Probulin is a probiotic that is free of wheat, dairy, soy, and gluten. Janice says probiotics are not all created equal. Probulin includes the prebiotic Inulin which is a form of soluble fiber which acts as an important food source for beneficial probiotic bacteria helping to ensure their survival. Probulin products help support digestive balance by promoting healthy intestinal flora. We are constantly being bombarded with toxins in the food we eat & drink. MakTrek 3-D is the special delivery system that Probulin incorporates which has scientifically demonstrated an ability to ensure a

Choose Coastal Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine for Exceptional, Well-Rounded Care By Kim Thomas Dr. Peter Candelora is the chosen “bone doctor” for many different types of patients because of his experience, his commitment to continual education, and his genuine let’s-getdown-to-business manner, which translates to providing the best care for each patient, whether that is a conservative approach, complete joint replacement surgery, or a treatment that reaches the forefront of orthopaedic medicine. He even provides patients the option to purchase pharmaceutical grade vitamins and supplements from his office. Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Candelora’s patients span all ages, from young athletes (like my son when he dislocated his knee playing high school football a few years ago), to celebrated high-end athletes needing to get back in the game,

to those looking for an excellent orthopaedic surgeon for hip, knee or shoulder replacement. Even patients with end-stage arthritis, unable to have surgery, might be able to take advantage of the Compassionate Care Act, and can turn to Dr. Candelora and his caring, competent staff. Peter Candelora, MD founded Coastal Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 1991 and quickly earned the reputation as a skilled orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. Dr. Candelora has had the opportunity to help extend the careers of more than a few famous athletes. The halls and offices of Coastal Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine are filled with framed jerseys from some great athletes, and while Dr. Candelora humbly admits some have been patients, others are collected from athletes he knows and admires. Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Candelora has a few special framed

“Urology” Continued from page 1 Dr. Otheguy adds, “We cover a lot of sensitive subjects with our patients and it’s important that they know we are here all the time for them. We are always the doctors they see and we are the ones on call.” The doctors both spoke sincerely, clear in their commitment to mutual respect for the doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Rabinowitz shares, “Many our patients have come to us after seeing other physicians and they are telling us it’s because: They don’t get to see the doctor and when they are, they didn’t spend the time that they felt was necessary.” Sitting down with Dr. Otheguy and Dr. Rabinowitz, it’s easy to see that they are devoted to providing patients with the absolute best care and in the very best facility in which to receive that care. Built just last year, the beautiful, state-of-the-art facility that houses Urology Professionals (located at the Premier Medical Center at 2075 Little Road in Trinity) is complete with upto-the-minute technology that Dr. Otheguy and Dr. Rabinowitz insist on having for their patients. In addition, it is a very green office with solar roofing panels that make the office super

energy-efficient and able to meet seventy percent of its own power requirements. “Patients love the new facility,” says Dr. Otheguy and we get compliments all the time on how clean, modern and private the new office is.” While Urology Professionals’ facility leads the way in energy efficiency, the doctors and their team lead the way in technology, experience, and patient care while addressing a wide range of urology problems professionally, discreetly and tactfully. In building the new facility, Drs. Rabinowitz and Otheguy achieved their goal to create a practice that would allow them to spend more time with their patients, while facilitating an environment that is both patient-friendly and also conducive to allowing the physicians to easily confer with each other to best manage each patient’s care. Love Your Floppies! Flip Flops that Bring Joy to Your Feet and Toys to Kids at All Children’s Hospital

The designer of “Floppies” is a little girl with a big heart! Michelina, a 10-year-old fourth grade student at Trinity Elementary, is the creative young entrepreneur who isn’t looking for a personal profit. Rather, Michelina designs adorable Flip Flops called Floppies, which are sold to raise money to buy TOYS for kids at All Children's Hospital (ACH) in St. Petersburg. Michelina was a patient of

(ACH) for several years and had a surgery in 2014. She was very grateful for the special Barbie doll she received and the kind attention from the nurses and doctors at the hospital. Michelina wanted to give back to kids that may be in the same situation that she was in, where they are scared and nervous. She created her very own style of Flip Flops and 100% of the proceeds goes towards new toys for children staying at All

Children’s Hospital. Michelina started selling Floppies in June 2016 attending craft fairs and sharing her story with her community. Her teachers at Trinity Elementary have been very supportive and helped her to spread the word too, and soon Michelina’s kindness began to catch notice. She was invited to speak about her Floppies and her good deeds on ABC Action News, Fox 13 and WFLA’s Daytime Show. In just six months, Michelina raised $1,000! One hundred percent was used to purchase toys, enabling

Michelina to buy toys from the hospital wish list and deliver them just in time for the holidays! Michelina is more excited than ever to continue to give back and says, “Kids helping kids is AWESOME!” Now she has an even bigger goal! If you’d like to help, you can visit the Floppies Facebook page, facebook.com/lovefloppies or email lovefloppies@yahoo.com (monetary donations or new toys appreciated). All proceeds are used to purchase toys for the young patients at All Children’s Hospital.

“Kitchen & Bath” Continued from page 1 through a remodel that’s not only beautiful, but an enjoyable and exciting experience from start to finish. In fact, several of Glenn’s designs have been featured in magazines like Architectural Digest, and House Trends Magazine. Glenn says, “This past year we performed 164 jobs in the area, and all of them are satisfied clients.” He adds, “We have more than 15 years of experience and we put our clients’ needs first.” Transform Your Space Transforming your space is easy and fun when you work with Authentic Concepts Kitchen & Bath Design. It all starts with an in-home consultation, where Glenn or one of the other experienced designers (Rebecca Peake, Wendy Hilton, Emily Miller or Rebecca McClelland), meet with you to discuss your desires for the space, to listen to your ideas, and to discuss the styles that you like most. The options are endless, and that’s the beauty of redesigning your kitchen or bathroom – you get to pick it all! Glenn says, “When we go to the
