Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles
From The Editor Carla Selby After this month's interviews, appointments and meetings with several business owners in the neighborhood, I started to think about the importance of really liking the community we live in. Richard Florida, one of the world's best-known urban theorists, believes that the place we live in is a fundamental contributor to our overall subjective well-being. It makes perfect sense considering the amount of time we spend in our homes and around our neighborhood. When the Gallup Organization looked at what gives you a high degree of emotional attachment to your neighborhood, the answers were pretty surprising. Obviously, having a low crime rate, great schools and good jobs are important, but there were two other factors that were really critical. The first was a community that treats all of its residents fairly—ethnic minorities, new immigrants, low-income people, young people, old people, families, entrepreneurs, artists. And then the

most important factor was what I call the quality of the neighborhood itself. Does it have trees? Does it have open space? Does it preserve its historic architecture? In other words, does it have some kind of physical beauty? This quality, the aesthetic character, was the number one factor. Which does not really surprise me. In today's world we worship beauty, so of course, if given the choice, we would prefer to live in a "beautiful" neighborhood… But let me tell you what I believe makes the Trinity area so beautiful… its people. I have met so many wonderful, kind, supportive and overall positive people in these areas and THAT, to me, is more important than being surrounded by perfectly landscaped waterfront mansions. The schools are great, there are a lot of parks and opportunities for kids to play outside, the neighborhoods feel safe and overall there is a great sense of family and community. I especially enjoy meeting longtime residents and business owners who operate local

Annual Hunger Walk to help fight Childhood Hunger The annual One Community Now Hunger Walk will take place on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Gulf High School. The goal is to raise $100,000 to be used for feeding hungry children in Pasco County. In order to meet this goal, One Community Now (OCN) is asking for sponsorships from local businesses. In March of 2017 OCN had over 1000 people attend the Hunger Walk and raised over $76,000 which helped us to provide 15,200 weekend sacks of food for school-aged children at 26 different Pasco County Schools.

Did you know: * 38,000 Pasco County students live in homes that struggle to put food on the table. * 51% of children in Pasco County qualify for free or reduced price meals. Many at-risk students won't eat at all between lunch on Friday and breakfast Monday morning. Childhood hunger is a problem that threatens our children and our future. We're in danger of losing an entire generation of leaders, innovators and problem solvers. But with your support OCN can make sure every child at-risk has

SAT AND ACT IMPROVEMENT: BRIGHTER FUTURES By: Dr. Wayne Adams Things are looking even brighter in Tallahassee as Senate Bill 4 was just passed unanimously for the permanent expansion of the Bright Futures Academic (100%) and Medallion (75%) scholarships, and another bonus of requiring Public Universities to switch to block tuition rates starting in the Fall of 2017-2018. The Bill has now been sent to the House for consideration and vote. Passage of this Bill and signing by the Govenor means that Acacemic Scholars would receive 100% payment of tuition plus $300 for books. Medallion Scholars will receive 75% payment of tuition. In addition, Bright Futures will pay tuition for summer studies. Block tuition means that universities will no longer charge by credit hour, but by a block payment for a semester no matter how many hours are taken above the minimum for a full time student. So if a student takes more hours for credit, the charge per credit hour will drop. The other requirements to qualify for Bright Futures remain the same at this point. You can find the qualifications needed for both awards at multiple websites my searching under Florida Bright Futures Qualifications or
8
just Bright Futures. Several key qualifications follow: Academic Scholars (100%): Weighted GPA 3.50+, Volunteer Hours 100, SAT 1290/ACT 29. Estimated 4 year value: $26,000+. Medallion Scholars (75%): Weighted GPA 3.00+, Volunteer Hours 75, SAT 1170/ACT 26. Estimated 4 year value: $18,000+. As of this writing, Bright Futures (BF) will “superscore” both the SAT and ACT scores for eligibility. This means that if a student akes an exam multiple times, BF will use the highest scores in each area. One of my students started preparing for the ACT last year as a junior, and her first score was 23. She has kept working, and now has her superscore up to 25.25. BF rounds up the score at 0.5 and above. It won’t be long, and she will hit 26! Great determination. Bravo!!! Students also have until the last spring exam for the SAT and ACT to take and submit a score for consideration. The last SAT this year is on Saturday, June 2nd, and the last ACT this year is on Saturday, June 9th. With the new Bill on the way to the House, double check this eligibility time to make sure it does not change. About this time of year, I see an influx of students in several categories.

Seniors want to boost their scores as final qualifications for Bright Futures. They (and/or their parents) have realized that $18,000+ $26,000+ is probably more than they could save over a full summer working, so it is worth it to invest some hours now to get their SAT and/or ACT score up. We call this, “Dialing for Dollars!” A second category is juniors who want to see if they can score at a level needed for their dream and other colleges. If they can achieve this late in their junior year or over the summer, then they do not have to take any exams their senior year. The final category is sophomores who want to prepare for the PSAT next October and see if they can qualify for National Merit Scholarships. While these are not huge scholarships, colleges love to have national merit scholars and often reward them with large academic scholarships. Plus they are very helpful in being admitted to top level colleges and universities. If You Would Like To Talk More About Your Student, Please contact me at 727-253-0639 or send me an e mail at wwa0811@mykolab.com. Dr. Wayne Adams is one of the leading SAT and ACT tutors in the
FEBRUARY 2018
country. His students normally improve 200 – 350 points on the Writing, Reading, Writing and Essay, and Math, and 4 – 7 points on the ACT composite. They have been admitted to eight of the top ten universities in the country, seventeen of the top twenty-five, and many schools in Florida. These schools include Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Stanford, U Chicago, Duke, U Penn, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Notre Dame, Emory, UC Berkley, UCLA, USC, UNC (Chapel Hill), NYU, Northeastern (Boston), Boston College, Georgia Tech, Air Force and Merchant Marine Service Academies, Penn State, LSU, Auburn, UF, U Miami, FSU, USF, UCF, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, FIU, New College of Florida, Stetson, and Julliard – Manhattan - New England - and Berkley Conservatories of Music. Many have received academic, athletic, or music scholarships. This year, he also tutored three juniors who scored at the national merit finalist/semifinalist levels on the most recent PSAT. He is a former Dean of a Graduate School of Business and Full Professor, and began college teaching at the University of Maryland in 1968. He has degrees and advanced studies at Harvard, Yale, Vanderbilt, Columbia International, and Luther Rice.

Rossi Ristorante Italiano - Your Nonna’s Got Some Serious Competition! By Carla Selby My nonna’s (Italian for grandmother) cooking finally met it’s match at Rossi Ristorante Italiano, where the true flavors of Italy are brought to life in every dish! I was raised by an Italian family, which means I grew up knowing what true Italian cuisine was all about; the fresh produce, the local seasonal ingredients, the aromas, the passed down family recipes, the pasta “al dente,” and the entire experience that comes with enjoying a good Italian meal in a worry-free, family environment. And that is exactly what you will find at Rossi Ristorante Italiano. I recently had the opportunity to visit this neighborhood staple located in the Seven Springs Plaza at 7254 S.R. 54, and I completely fell in love with their food! It came to no surprise at all that this restaurant has been serving delicious, authentic Italian food to local customers for over 30 years! “We have customers that have been coming to Rossi since we opened our doors 34 years ago,” said owner Gabriella Rossi. “Nothing makes me feel more proud than when I hear someone say they love our food.” And boy, do people love Rossi’s food! “Rossi is a truly authentic Italian Restaurant. I have never had a disappointing meal,” said happy customer Carrie Margas. “The Chicken Di Como is my absolute favorite, although everything is great, which is why our family keeps coming back!” Another happy regular named Paul said, “Rossi is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Tampa Bay area--my family has been coming here for 20 years. Their pizza is among the best I've had, and the pasta is always al dente. The chicken piccata is fork-tender, the veal saltimboca is dynamite, and you can't go wrong with the penne Alla vodka.” The great reviews from satisfied raving customers who have been coming to Rossi for over 3 decades are just too many to mention, so I invite you to try it for yourself and leave your own personal review about your experience. You’ll be treated like family! “Ciao, we’ll see you in a couple of days!” says Ted Harris, a staff member of over 15 years, as he waives goodbye to a group of local customers. “I have been working here for a really long time. All my relatives come here, my good friends come here, and I have been taking care of some regulars for over a decade” adds Ted. “It’s comforting to know that you work in a truly wonderful place that offers amazing food at great prices and that feels like one big family.”
10
And while many things have changed over the years, Rossi’s core commitment of serving you and your loved ones with the most delicious and made-to-order Italian dishes has not. Everything on the menu at Rossi tastes amazing and is presented with pride. From the appetizers, pizzas, salads and Italian specialty entrees to the decadent desserts, like their famous homemade tiramisu. “We make everything from scratch and with the freshest ingredients,” said Gabriella. "We also serve certified all-natural, free-range chicken from a produce company called 'Free Birds.' They are well-known for their non-GMO line, which is also antibiotic free. They feed their birds a balanced diet of fortified vegetarian grains, so there never any artificial additives, animal fats or by-products used to feed these chickens." All of Rossi's recipes have been passed on from generation to generation, but Gabriella says she can happily accommodate any customer's specific needs. "I am happy to modify any of our dishes to meet our customer's needs, and it is not a problem, as everything is made to order," said Gabriella. Gabriella can’t say what her most popular dish is, saying, “We have so many dishes on the menu, it’s hard to say what our biggest seller is!” But, if you want to know my personal favorite, it is hands down, the “Aragosta Fra Diavolo.” A succulent plate of perfectly cooked pasta in a mildly spicy tomato sauce, served with shellfish and a whole lobster tail. ‘Aragosta’ means Lobster, and Fra Diavolo means ‘of the devil’ in Italian. So basically this dish is called “Lobster of the devil” and it’s named this way because of the spiciness of the dish. I eat a lot of spicy food and I love anything

seafood, so this dish to me was nothing short of culinary perfection. I was sincerely impressed to find that their vast menu stood up to the test of my picky Italian palate, and they even offer many gluten-free options (which is

rare for an Italian restaurant.) Everything I tried, from the fresh tomato bruschetta, made with the most delicious bread, fresh basil and balsamic dressing, to the cheesy sausage and pepperoni pizza (you have to try their
Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles
pizzas!), to the Veal Saltimbocca, was simply exquisite and mouth watering. I truly cannot say enough good things about their pizzas though. They were simply incredible and probably one of the things that will keep customers coming back for another 34 years. You can trust me on this one, I am a picky Italian foodie who actually lived in Italy for a while… so I know what a good pizza tastes like! Sophia D. a local customer had this to say; “The family atmosphere and the delicious pizza has my family coming here over and over. We've never tried anything else, so I can't speak to the rest of the menu. We get thin crust and extra crispy and it comes out crispy and light and perfect every time.” They also have a wide selection of
Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles
Italian wines, including one of my personal favorites; Carletto, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. My grandparents were born in the Abruzzo region of Italy, so this wine touches my heart strings and helps me reminisce about the days I lived in Italy. It is truly delicious, affordable and makes the perfect pairing with any of Rossi’s Italian dishes! Leave Room For Dessert The Tiramisu (meaning “pick me up,” “cheer me up” or “life me up”) at Rossi is one of those desserts you have to have even if you already feel full. Which was my case after all that scrumptious food I had tried. But I am glad I managed to get a few bites of this popular, home made coffee-flavored
Italian dessert. It is without a doubt, the perfect way to end your meal. Rossi can accommodate large groups and special events such as birthdays, graduations or even weddings. It’s not unusual to hear someone say, “Can I bring in a party of 30 on Saturday afternoon for a birthday party?” So, keep that in mind! Also, they have a full catering menu to serve parties of any size, which means that you can truly share your favorite Rossi dishes with everyone you love! If you love Italian food, you’ve got to put Rossi Ristorante Italiano on the regular rotation. Showing the most sincere gratitude and pride, Gabriella said “I want all of our customers to know how appreciative I am for their incredible

support, loyalty and patronage during all these years. You are the reason why we do what we do.” Open for lunch and for dinner seven days a week, your entire family will love it! Rossi Ristorante Italiano is located in the 7 Springs Plaza at 7254 S.R. 54 in New Port Richey. They are open: Mon. –Thur., 11 a.m.¬–10 p.m.; Fri. and Sat., 11 a.m.¬–11 p.m.; and 1–10 p.m. on Sunday. financial planners who convinced them to make changes, not aware of the tax impacts. To me, the tax return is the most important document the client owns, that’s why it is the first thing we look at when the client meets us for their initial appointment. If there is an investment or change that could cause a taxable event, we know that up front.” Ed and his team are very tuned in to their clients’ needs and concerns. “Saving on taxes, reducing or eliminating taxation on social security and protecting the financial wellbeing
of a spouse after another’s death – those are things that my clients are concerned about,” explains Ed. “Today, people also want alternatives to the low interest rate environment provided by CDs and money market accounts.” He adds, “If clients are already collecting social security when they come to us, they want to know how they can reduce or eliminate taxes on not only social security income, but their overall taxes as well. A major concern today and what I believe will be a concern for years to come for pre-retirees and current retirees is how to obtain ‘Guaranteed Income for Life’ from your retirement and non-retirement plans. Unfortunately many employer sponsored plans and individual IRAs do not offer this benefit when you retire. We will show you how to put some things in place now that will enable you to set up lifetime income down the road. This is income you will never outlive, similar to a pension. We spend many hours with our clients to put sound plans in place by sharing ‘real time’ tax, income and social security analysis through some of the most sophisticated software. We want our clients to leave our office with a better understanding on what their income needs will be in retirement, and how to control, reduce or possibly eliminate taxes.” Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group takes a team-oriented approach to tax, retirement and estate planning and Mr. Rizzotto welcomes discussions from clients’ estate planning attorneys. If you do not already have an attorney, Mr. Rizzotto often refers clients to estate planning attorneys Stephen E. Hitchcock and Martha V. Evans from Hitchcock Law Group, who frequently meet with clients in the office to review Wills and Trusts. “They can help you make sure your plan is up to date and our staff will make sure your accounts and beneficiary designations coordinate

with your estate plan.” While taxes are a large part of The Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group, the majority of their clients also utilize the firm’s other services including investments, retirement planning, long term care, annuities, life insurance, wills and trusts and small business bookkeeping services. Ed says, “Clients like the opportunity we provide to get everything taken care of in one place.” A word of advice, “You’re never too young to start saving for retirement,” says Rizzotto. “We have found that many people we meet who are still working have changed jobs about every five to seven years, and many of those people left their retirement plans at their old employers (i.e. 401k, 403b, 457 and TSP plans, etc). Many of these plans can be rolled over to individual IRAs or Roth IRAs, thus giving the client more control and the ability to have someone to advise them.” The Rizzotto Tax Advisory Group is located in the community of Long Leaf in the Florida Design Consultants Center at 3030 Starkey Boulevard in Trinity. By Matt Selby What if I told you the “good guys” from the “good ol’ days” still exist? We’re talking about the blue collar guys that treat you and your family as they would treat their own. At times, it seems like a thing of the past. If you spend five minutes online you’ll find negative reviews on many plumbing companies in the area. In today’s economy it’s tougher than ever to find honest, hard, fair work but we’ve found it. We found a company who will work hard for you and your family to fix any and all of your plumbing and/or septic problems. Most importantly, they’re a reputable and licensed company. I’m talking about Tampa Bay Plumbers! Owner Ryan Pelky demands excellence from everyone on his team. “I take personal responsibility for every job no matter how big or small,” says Pelky. “This company obsesses over quality and our customer experience. I can promise you this…if you’re not happy with something we did for you, I will make it right. Go ahead and look them up next time you’re online and you’ll find glowing reviews from tons of satisfied local customers. You’ll

find an Angie’s List Super Service Award, an almost 5 star review on Facebook (you can’t please everyone), an A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau, and an almost 5-star rating on just about every review site on the net including google which they boast a 4.8 out of 5 rating! That’s no easy task especially when you have competitors constantly hiring other people to fake bad reviews online. It’s a sad world we live in but it’s a reality that not enough people know about. I guess what I’m saying is, even if you don’t take my word for it, you can trust the reviews of countless more people. I put my trust for all my personal and business plumbing and septic needs in the hands of Tampa Bay Plumbers; in fact, one of my best friends in the world, Ryan Penna, plays a paramount role within the company as their production manager. I trust Ryan and after hearing him talk so highly about the company he works for I knew I wouldn’t regret hiring them. Tampa Bay Plumbers will be working on a model home I’m building personally here in Tampa very soon. As Mr. Pelky says himself, there’s no job too big or too small. Sometimes the small stuff is the most inconvenient – leaky toilets,

clogged drains (because your kids are brilliant and decided their toys wanted to go swimming in things they shouldn’t), garbage disposal repair, superficial leaks and bursts all the way through septic repair and maintenance, and trenchless repairs. Ryan Penna and I sat down and I asked Ryan Pelky what he thinks sets Tampa Bay Plumbers apart from others in the industry. He said, “First off, we have over 25 years of experience locally here

We don’t lose a customer over price very often and if we do it’s because the customer goes with an unlicensed contractor,” says Ryan.

Better Health & Nutrition Has What You Need to Boost Your Immune System By Brie Thompson
It’s not a far drive to find a fullservice health food store that provides the best and most up-todate quality natural products and supplements. Better Health & Nutrition is located at River Crossing Center on Little Road in New Port Richey, and owners Peter and Janice Dunn know how difficult it can be to choose products that are the right fit for your body’s needs. Their collective expertise is impressive and they have a loyal following of customers who appreciate that Janice and Peter will make every effort to help you find the wholesome products you need in your quest for the healthiest you that you can be. Peter uses his knowledge of grocery distribution and Janice her extensive background in holistic health & nutrition to help customers reach their goals in a meaningful way with quality natural products that are matched to each person’s wellbeing and health goals. If you feel like you need a fresh start, there is a new product by Renew Life that is a three-day cleanse, which is great for helping to eliminate waste and toxins and restore regularity. One easy way to move toward better health and boost the immune system is to take nutritional supplements, and Better Health & Nutrition carries only top choices at competitive prices; products such as Enzymedica’s 100% daily whole food nutrition multivitamin with enzyme activated nutrients – a great choice for overall health benefits. Looking for a natural energy boost? Peter and Janice explained that Matcha is a green tea powder ten times more potent than regular green tea; even better, it is energizing, alkalizing, detoxifying and rejuvenating. Matcha helps boost metabolism, and can be mixed in your hot or cold drink as well as smoothies. February is the height of flu

season, which can affect family members of all ages. Better Health & Nutrition has some great options for keeping the family well. Original Sambucus for Kids can be used as a preventative against the flu. Nature’s Way Standardized Elderberry taken over an extended period of time is noted for it’s antioxidant benefits which can help to fight cold, flu, bacterial and viral infections. Buried Treasure brand has a product called Acute Cold and Flu (ACF), which also boosts your immune system and can assist you in recovering from the flu. Children and adults can take ACF for a couple of weeks when first feeling as though they are getting the flu. Additionally, Janice also spoke about local seasonal raw honey, by Eden’s Nectar. Unprocessed honey contains both pollen & honey & acts as an immune booster. Straight exposure to pollen triggers allergies, yet straight exposure to the local honey with pollen has the opposite effect. In allergy season, visit with Janice and Peter to discuss the different kinds of honey that may prove beneficial and prevent suffering through allergies. In keeping with their philosophy to provide only the best products in natural supplements, vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts, organic enhancement products and natural foods, Peter and Janice also constantly educate themselves on new products and advancements in natural health and alternative medicine. Some other popular products Janice recommends based on customer popularity are: Probulin which includes the MakTrek 3-D Probiotic Delivery System, Terry Naturally Curamin Stop Pain Now, and Solgar PM Phytogen Complex. Probulin is a probiotic that is free of wheat, dairy, soy, and gluten. Janice says probiotics are not all created equal. Probulin includes the prebiotic Inulin which is a form of soluble fiber which acts as an important food source for beneficial

“Tech Talk” with Bob - This month’s topic: Wi-Fi By Bob Dalles
Greetings! People frequently ask me about “Wi-Fi”. Can you explain Wi-Fi? There is a high probability that you use it every day. Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity. Kind of like the days of “Hi-Fi” for home stereo systems, but now I’m showing my age. If you don’t remember Hi-Fi, then consider yourself lucky. The internet connection in your home or office in the past have been “hard wired;” meaning physically connected with a network cable between your computer and your internet service provider’s modem. The modem is that box your phone or cable company sets up in your home or office. That modem is your computer’s connection to the internet, which allows you to connect to web sites all over the world. When computers became smaller and more portable, carrying around a laptop computer
Tampa Bay News & Lifestyles
tethered with a network wire was not feasible. Engineers developed a way to carry the internet signals through the air. This would eliminate the network cable and provide more mobility for the user. So, where does the wireless fidelity come in? Engineers had to make
certain that the wireless signals that “flew through the air” were as reliable as the signals that traveled across the network cable. The fidelity of the wireless architecture had to be as reliable as the wired architecture. Therefore, wireless network connections became known as Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi has evolved over the past decades and will continue to develop into the future. Wi-Fi network cards used to be an expensive add-on to computers. If you wanted the luxury of Wi-Fi
For Ad Info 727-943-0551 • info@NNLFlorida.com
networking, you had to pay $$$. However, over time prices went down. Today, most computers you buy have the Wi-Fi capability built-in. The laptop or desktop computer you now buy for your home or office has Wi-Fi but there are considerations to Wi-Fi that most people are not aware of. These are items such as: speed, distance, and most importantly security. We’ll go into more detail about that next time. Have a tech question? Email it to TechTalkTBNL@BobTheComputerGuy. NET. Questions will be selected by the popularity of a topic and answered in this column. If you have a more urgent need or have a unique situation you may schedule an appointment with one of my Professionally Certified Technicians by calling 727-5344000. Until next time, stay safe on the internet!

“Cleaning Angel” Continued from page 1 Donna has built a solid reputation for exceptional service which her customers have shown their appreciation for by recommending her services to family and friends for over two decades. “I offer a very unique and personable cleaning service,” explains Donna. “My teams spend twice the time as other services for less money. The cleaning is top to bottom, complete and comprehensive. Donna realizes that many of her clients are working longer hours than ever. “They simply need help,” states Donna. “Even ten years ago, cleaning services were for the rich. Today, it is a necessity for many families and the cost is budgeted in just like the electric bill and utilities. The last thing my clients want to do on their day off is spend it cleaning their homes; time is precious and they would much rather be spending free time with family and friends.” It’s been proven that a clean house gives way to a clear mind and the ability to focus on other areas of life. There are many other things we would rather be doing with our day. Donna and her Angels can help you

Steven and Janice Downs said “My husband and I have tried many cleaning services over the past year and we were just about to give up when one of our neighbors told us about Donnas Cleaning Angels. We thought there was just too many fly by night cleaning ladies and services out there. We are so happy that we called Donna especially after finding out all of her employees are background checked. That is so important to us and should be to anyone in the community. Rest assured folks, this is the service to call plus they do a fantastic job! Steven and Janice Downs of Tarpon Springs There are endless factors when choosing a company to trust with your cleaning needs, making sure the business is bonded, licensed and insured is a good way of gauging the quality of service you can expect. Donna has ensured that all bases are covered and has protected not only her business interests, but the interests of her clients as well. "Next to your doctor, theres nothing more personal than your cleaning service which is why we take so many steps to protect you, and make you feel at ease with our service.” Says Donna. “My customers don't have to worry because I've done my homework and I carry the liability." Try them and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. –Chris Michael Owner of Central Park Restaurant in New Port Richey Donna’s right hand, Office Manager Maria Santilli, is a blessing according to Donna and the feeling seems to be mutual. Good customer service seems to be harder and harder to find these days but not when you’re working with Donnas Cleaning Angels. “Customers love how much time Donna takes to meet and explain everything we have to offer them in person,” says Maria. Donnas Cleaning Angels promises to always provide prompt and dependable service, always meeting the expectation of their clients. They take time to understand, in detail, your areas of concern and leave each client completely satisfied with their service. Sharisse Tsikouris of Odessa says, “It’s been very difficult for me to find a good cleaning company. I have been with this company for a while now and I'm a very very picky individual and they have done an amazing job! Every single week I'm never disappointed with my cleaning. If you’re looking for the best cleaning service in town these are the people to see.” Building honest, dependable relationships is just as important to Donna as providing quality cleaning. “My girls are ‘my girls’—we are like a close knit family,” says Donna. “I appreciate and take care of them and they appreciate and take care of our clients. It’s a win win situation. The bond that Donna shares with her Angels and clients is what has built the foundation of her success. Donna’s good values, backed by her A+ team and exceptional service is why Donnas Cleaning Angels is a known name here in Tampa Bay. Whether you are a retiree, busy with your career, or a full-time mom, Donna’s “Angels” will make your life easier. “Using the basic principles of mutual respect combined with good, old-fashioned elbow grease, the angels produce a heavenly sparkle,” says Donna. “Our customers love our back-to-basics, old-fashioned cleaning techniques, often reminding them of how their grandmothers used to clean.” To ensure that every client is happy after each cleaning, Donna offers comment cards, regularly checks in with her clients, and has regular meetings with her staff. We see your cars and advertisements all over the place!’ At that moment, I realized how fortunate I am. I told them it takes hard work, determination and strength! I am not a franchise, nor did I have the backing of another company; I did this on my own. It makes me happy to know that this is a legacy that I can now leave my grandchildren. Donna adds, “At the end of the day I thank God for my blessings – the great people who work for me, a great business, my health, my home, my loved ones and my family. Many times it is a spouse or adult children who are the caregiver, and we partner with them to make them part of the treatment plan.” For this team, there is great joy in working with seniors. There is a real wealth of connectedness that comes from helping the patient, while listening to their stories which can impart wisdom that arises from one’s life experiences.” Getting folks to share their memories and experiences – reminiscence therapy – is one of the group therapy methods used to help seniors get back to being themselves.
