Dear Prospective Home Buyer, Our family has totally enjoyed our home here at 8008 Leyton Place over the past 10+ years and made many good memories that will never be forgotten. We would stay on for another ten years if not for extended family situations, John’s retirement from work, and the need to downsize and simplify life a bit. This house has been so great for all of us. It has plenty of room and it is a great location in terms of schools, shopping, and convenience to work, church, and recreation. Sitting at the top of the cul-de-sac is itself a great attribute of this house. This little cul-de-sac neighborhood of nine homes is fantastic. A couple of the homes have changed over in the last few years, but the new owners are already aware that the blend of people on this street is outstanding. Virtually every three-day holiday weekend and Halloween we close down the street, the kids play, and the adults cook out and relax. You just can’t find a bunch of neighbors like these who are friendlier or more helpful. Obviously, we are in the suburbs, but we are still remarkably close to everything. Grocery stores, drug stores, and restaurants are less than five minutes around the corner. By car, 20 minutes to Fort Belvoir. Maybe 30 minutes to the Pentagon (or less if you carpool or slug). Depending on the time of day and day of the week, it is easy to get into DC itself to the museums, sports events, and the Kennedy Center. Other modes: there is a stop for the express bus to the Pentagon about 2 ½ blocks away as well as a bus to the Springfield/Franconia Metro station. We will miss our home here. It has been filled with so many wonderful occasions and friends and neighbors that we will never forget. As we move on to South Carolina, we will treasure the memories of 8008 Leyton Place in Springfield and believe that you would find it to be a great house in a great neighborhood.
