Dear Prospective Home Buyer, My family has lived in our Virginia Hills home for 3 years and we’ve loved not only the home, but the neighborhood. We would happily stay here for many more years if a job wasn’t transferring us out of the country. We brought our youngest son home to this house, after a long adoption wait. We’ll miss afternoons in the playroom, family movie nights in the living room, and enjoying how open the main room upstairs is. Our kids spent many mornings doing relay races in there and snuggling on the couch. We’ve loved having backyard barbecues and playing tag as we ran around the house. The Virginia Hills community has been a fantastic place to raise our kids. There are several kids close in age to mine from several ethnicities. It’s been a great place to show my kids unity in diversity. We would walk to the community center on Dorset every weekend to play at the playground and enjoyed the pool there in the summer. There are often community gatherings organized on Facebook. This year we had a Halloween picture taken of all the families and organized Christmas caroling. This little neighborhood feels quiet even though it’s close to everything. Huntington Metro station is only a few minutes down the road and from there it is easy to get into DC. My husband could get to the Pentagon easily by metro, but we are also an easy drive against traffic to the other military bases nearby. Grounded Coffee shop was one of our favorite places to grab coffee or a treat. Lee District Park was a staple in our family; the splash pad is phenomenal and free for hot summer days. We loved hitting the library on Rose Hill and Namaste was one of our favorite restaurants. With Kingstowne so close, there are many shops and restaurants at your disposal. We are really going to miss this home and community. Our family grew in size, age, and life experience here and it is hard to leave a place we have so many wonderful memories. We wish we could stay; this is the only home our boys remember and they’ve grown so much here! But as we prepare to move our hope is that the next family who lives here loves it just as much as we did and makes memories of their own. Sincerely,
