leather LINED

This jacket, when it first appeared on Zara’s website, really just couldn’t get out of my head. Good price, great fit, the whole ordeal! I wanted to have one for myself, except, like every other Zara piece (cheap sandals and navajo print pants ring a bell?), I just knew it was one of those pieces that was destined to be blogged to death. Staved from making the commitment for as long as I could until just a few weeks ago I finally caved for the black leather-sleeved safari jacket. My favorite part of the jacket is actually the neck area--it allows for a turtle neck but it still looks awfully chic... which is perfect for the sudden gloomy weather we’re experiencing right now. Cheers to good buys!

After a long day of driving all over L.A. (and all that it entails: traffic traffic traffic, ahem), I came home and had a much-needed evening of winding down. I spent a good hour looking back at photos of friends, my dogs, food, and old ‘fits. So peculiar how I can remember exactly the things I laughed about or the things that happened just by looking back at a photo of a mere outfit. Photos can speak so much.

LOUDEST TONES I should be sleeping--seeing as I should be up early tomorrow to start on a project I’ve been marinating for a while--but the two cups of lychee oolong and jasmine green tea latte I drank earlier seem to be holding me up. This weekend went by SO much quicker than I had expected, but I suppose that’s a good thing. You know, like it means that I actually did something fun because when you’re enjoying your time, you never seem to know where it went. On another note, I got the chance to hear Coldplay perform LIVE at the Hollywood Bowl this week and it was a-ma-zing. Chris Martin is such a charmer

and they definitely put on a great light show. The bowl was packed and heated with energy and love-the boyfriend and I were much excited to be a part of it. I had honestly tried to condition myself to hold the tears for when they would play “Yellow,” “The Scientist,” “Fix You,” and “Warning Sign,” but realistically, I cried like a little girl because 1) their performance for each song was so simply beautiful and 2) hearing these songs brought me back to a state of when I felt so raw and in need of closure. Yeah, I know Coldplay has that affect on a lot of people, but... the live performance was just moving, so moving.

SUMMER Summer feels like it’s around the corner... this white lace dress is a definite complement to the gorgeous weather. It’s barely midweek and I can hardly wait to sit back, relax, and bask in the weeklong sunshine with my mummy this Mother’s Day weekend.

A few sun-drenched photos I took for ASOS. This gorgeous weather is making me sick with intense wanderlust--I'm overwhelm with a craving to walk on new grounds and to delight in unexplored fine foods. The sun is great and all in LA, but I just want to see how the sun shines in another city, you know? Top: Zara; Shorts: ASOS; Shoes: Zara; Accessories: Forever 21

SOMETIMES to deal with the mundanity of living in one place my entire life, I sort of rediscover places I’ve been or re-adjust how I see things in one spot. Interestingly enough, that’s what I love about photography and I guess more so taking photos for this blog--it makes me do just that. Kind of makes me appreciate where I am. Perspective.

pola rized Excuse the slouchiness, I was growing delirious and impatient waiting around with the bf to grab a table at one of our favorite places to eat at. I’ve been digging the cool combo of blues and whites lately, especially ones with softer tones and off-whites. This periwinkle Zara dress is so ideal for the weather, with its lightweight fabric and thigh-high slits--I love it with sandals, flatforms, sneakers, anything really. Layered with a cropped sweater or a cropped jacket like this one, it becomes such an easygoing layering piece. I wasn’t aware HOW good J Brand’s denim jackets were, and I’m such a denim jacket fanatic, too, gosh. Cropped, perfectly off-white, and also lightweight... quickly making its way in becoming my summer staple.

HERE I AM EVIDENTLY TRYING TO KEEP COOL in the hot, hot heat - found adequate shade and shelter under a huge tree. My days are now marked by a spike in water/fruit consumption and finding all the other ways I can avoid overheating, like wearing white or silk, and wearing a kempt bun atop the head. I’ve been updating the blog shop

with new items for sale, check it out. Also, I was way behind but check this section out for the latest March lookbook. I still have April and May coming but there’s another project I’m also working on and I can’t wait to share that one. Soon!

no trouble Trying to find the most plausible ways to be creative when dressing for hot summer nights has forced me to use flimsy printed tops to create a discreet high-low look. My long awaited three-day weekend is (almost) here and I couldn’t be more excited! ...Except my right eye is exceptionally irritated at the moment and I’ll be forced to don the spectacles and refrain from doing much activity this weekend. Gah. I had wanted to do some light traveling in California but that option was also struck down from becoming reality--such, a, bummer! I guess it’s a weekend called for NBA playoffs and online window shopping. Anyone doing something fun this coming weekend?

A|X SPOTTED Had some fun out in the OC wearing these cute pieces from A|X! I decided to pair the two separate pieces together to develop a discreet play on prints and I guess turn it into a deceiving one-piece. It was so much fun snapping photos for the blog via Instagram, (really refreshing actually), the day went by so smoothly not having to lug a heavy DSLR around and all. Hassle free from the get-go, the night ended swimmingly with some Japanese BBQ and beer with the ladies Raneth and Raych. Check out other pictures here on Refinery29 where I shared bits and bobs of my day!

The start of the three-day weekend came unexpectedly with a lot of wind (note the peekaboo floral cardigan layered with a jacket and the scarf!) but the sunshine pulled through for the latter half and it was glorious. As a creature of habit, naturally I gravitated towards pigging out with iced jasmine teas, macarons, and french fries (my kryptonite), and a bit of shopping. Total relaxation, which was much, much needed after a hectic week. Not to mention, the threeday window opened up opportunities to catch up with friends sprinkled throughout the LA/OC area. Hope you all enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend, and here’s to soldiers who gave up everything for us- much love, good night. Keeping cool in my summerfavorite J Brand denim jacket (also worn here and here), this lightweight high/ low Rag & Bone ‘Adeline’ sleeveless top I fell in l-ov-e with, and short J Brand ‘Nina’ shorts also absolutely necessary for the heat. A bit scanty but revealing gams is never a bad thing when you feel like you’re baking under the sun. Iced coconut oolong tea and vanilla bean ice cream atop a blueberry almond tea cake followed shortly after snapping these photos--dunzo! Happy Wednesday, loves. So glad we’re already half way through the week!
