Message from the National Coordinator
Dear Scouts, It is a matter of great pleasure in reaching out to you the wonderful young people, amazing adult leaders and volunteers associated with Nepal Scouts as you carry the true spirits of scouting in the country. I have always told that it is our first priority to nurture and shape the young people by regularly involving them into different formal and non-formal education towards enhancing their capacity through a value-based education system. I believe Nepal Scouts, in coordination and support of Government of Nepal, has been doing that exact thing for you. You all know the entire world is affected by Covid19 and it has brought setbacks on the way of global development. The Scouts at this situation of global crisis, have done commendable jobs around the world not only in preventing the rapid spread of corona virus but also providing digital platforms to keep young people engaged in the activities for their development. Nepal Scouts and its volunteers have joined hands with government through many agencies and security forces to aware people about the risks in a positive manner. I saw young scouts in guidance of leaders on streets to help the people when it was most needed. The volunteers of Nepal Scouts deserves all the praise and I use this moment to thank all the scouts volunteers involved through different channels of projects, programs and activities. The Provincial committees also deserve to be thanked for their continuous support and coordination at different levels of implementation. In these two years we have marked significant achievement in developing and strengthening Nepal Scouts ever in its history under my leadership, with the support of amazing team members, adult leaders, volunteers and support staff. We able to expand our organization from cities to the villages, from reached to the unreached formulating all 7 provinces and 753 local scouts association. I believe that this will make our organization the largest youth education organization in the country. I want to assure you that Nepal Scouts is doing its best for growth and reaching out to all parts of the country. Being at the leadership of Nepal Scouts, I also like to appeal all stakeholders to come together, and move hand-in-hand for further development, restructuring and evolving of Nepal Scouts to make it a premier movement in the field of youth mobilization as well as moral and non-formal education for the young people. Brothers and Sisters in Scouting, I am happy at the moment to share my views with a keen observation that Nepal Scouts is evolving towards being a premier youth movement and a leading organization with a value-based education system in Nepal. The National headquarters of Nepal Scouts has always prioritized supporting volunteers to deliver quality youth program to the young people, since the new set of staff has appointed 18 months ago, we are fully dedicated to strengthening the organization ensuring good governance and quality Scouting in Nepal. I see significant growth, expansion and restructuring is taking place in Nepal Scouts in line with the constitution of Nepal and in needs of our young people. The Covid19 pandemic has affected the further progression but the volunteers took this opportunity to serve the people in their own way. Being involved myself and observing in different campaigns against Corona Virus is a matter of pleasure and satisfaction. I have witnessed that the National committee and committee at Provincial level have planned the development strategy and working into roadmaps towards achieving the goals. As a Chief of Staff, I feel satisfied that the inevitable growth of Scouting in Nepal will take place shortly with the help of all scouts and my fellow colleagues. Lately, Nepal Scouts is being prosperous in the area of policy formulation and implementing them in the best of the support to adults and young people. With consultation support from WOSM & WAGGGS and great work from the volunteer and staff team of Nepal Scouts, National Adult Development Policy(NADP), National Youth Programme Policy(NYPP) has been finalized. The toolkits to support the NADP, Uniform, Badges and Badge System Manual, Flag & Etiquettes also have come into implementation.
