SS23 COLLECTION GUIDE
FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY
FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY
One of the greatest joys of interior decorating is that no two homes are ever the same. Our individual approaches to colours and patterns and the stories we tell through our homes mean that the opportunity for creativity is never ending.
In particular, how we use colour will express our histories without even the need for words. The fresh greys and whites of a kitchen, the soothing sage greens of a bedroom or the lively ochres of a dining room or snug. A room’s décor articulates the environment we want to create and live in.
And for those still discovering their language, our new Colour Consultancy offers a professional helping hand to unlock the colour potential of a home. Using the enveloping richness of shades like Constable Green, the pale refinement of Salt or the uplifting joy of our new shade Rhubarb, colour is the bedrock from which we weave our stories.
And layered upon this tonal base is how we edit our spaces to evolve the storytelling. How we curate our homes - taking time to select, organise and care for the pieces we live with. For our surroundings benefit from our editing endeavours. A curated home feels both intriguing and restful. A place of tantalising personal history, and at the same time, an ordered space with a considered palette, where favourite pieces have room to breathe, and our colour choices speak volumes.
Our seasonal paint colour, Rhubarb, sets a joyful tone for this season. It reflects a collection that’s rooted in tradition yet embraces contemporary living. Each piece, from the timeless Portobello cabinet to new adjustable task lighting, meets the need for versatility in our ever-evolving lives.
Seasonal Paint SS23
Introducing Rhubarb; a spirited coral that evolves to a deeper shade of warm rose as daylight ebbs. Classically English, it’s inspired by vivid rhubarb stalks as well as the earthier hue of their weathered terracotta forcers. Rhubarb brings an element of surprise to interiors – much like when you lift a forcer and discover jewel-like stalks.
I Rhubarb is available in eggshell and emulsion and contains a high level of pigment to ensure even and consistent coverage.
I The colour feels lighter and brighter in eggshell, while in emulsion it has a deeper, matt appearance.
I This is an eco-friendly, water-based paint containing only 2g of VOCs. This falls into the lowest VOC category outlined by coating suppliers.
I Responsibly made in the UK.
I Rhubarb’s vivid warmth offers welcome contrast to neutral shades like Driftwood and Lily.
I It also pairs beautifully with blues and greens like Alpine, Cactus and Olive for a nature-inspired palette.
I Rhubarb has a fast touch-dry time of between one and two hours.
I If you’re painting a space where the humidity and temperatures fluctuate, such as a bathroom, drying times may be longer.
I Because the paint is water-based, you can simply clean brushes with warm water and soap.
I We advise purchasing as much paint as you need in one go to ensure it’s from the same batch.
I Metal tin and its handle can be recycled separately.
I Eggshell has a 17-22% sheen level. Its high resin content gives it this slight sheen and makes it highly durable.
I Paints will cover between 12-16 square metres per litre.
I For best results, we recommend using the paint with our waterbased primer underneath and making sure that the surface is properly prepared.
I Suitability for eggshell: wooden doors, furniture, trim, skirting and cornicing. Also works on previously painted walls.
I Suitability for emulsion: previously painted walls, wallpapered walls, lining paper ceilings and newly plastered walls.
We now provide customers with a complimentary 1-litre tin of cabinetry paint when they purchase a kitchen. This is for the purpose of touch-ups and will be batch-matched to the original paint used. Customers can choose to purchase extra tins if they wish, but only at the same time as buying their kitchen to ensure they are all from the same batch.
We have renamed our two paint booklets from Core and Seasonal to Signature and Seasonal. The cards in both booklets are now painted in the UK, using a specially developed paint that mirrors our own matt emulsion. As a key tool in our Home Design and Colour Consultancy Services, these improvements ensure the paint cards reflect our collection as accurately as possible.
We are very excited to introduce our new Colour Consultancy Service.
Where Home Design is a comprehensive service, the Colour Consultancy focuses purely on paint. It helps our customers to establish a cohesive palette for their home, making interior decorating a little less overwhelming.
Our expert consultants will visit the property and consider factors like architecture, lighting and furnishings – as well as the customer’s vision – when making their proposals.
To ensure the decorator has everything they need, the customer receives a folder of swatches detailing each shade, as well as technical information like the paint finishes, areas of application and quantities required.
If you have any questions about the Colour Consultancy Service, please contact Simon Temprell. Simon.temprell@neptune.com
“Portobello joins our curated collection of ‘found’ pieces. With Shepton, Sunbury and Ardingly for company, these heritage-style cabinets are named after iconic antique fairs and markets.”
Portobello is inspired by antique medicine cabinets, with a beautifully pared-back silhouette and a small footprint. You could use this versatile cabinet in a bathroom, filled with toiletries and linens, or in a hallway with treasured collectibles displayed on the shelves. The discreet drawer below offers hidden storage for essentials, too.
I Available in left and right handling.
I Made from solid tulipwood and birch plywood for strength and stability.
I Strong tempered glass panels keep the cabinet light and make a feature of the interior.
I Two shelves are fully adjustable on our traditional zig-zag system.
I The tulipwood shelves feature glass inset panels to ensure light distribution throughout the cabinet.
I Single drawer opens on full-extension, soft-close metal undermount runners.
I Hand-finished customisable eggshell paint to the interior and exterior.
I Black-bronze hardware completes the classic design.
I Height-adjustable feet for levelling.
I Anti-tilt fixings are supplied with the cabinet.
I To keep it clean, simply wipe with a damp e-cloth followed by a dry one.
We have introduced a wall light to our timeless Shaftesbury collection. The domed glass shade adds a hint of Art Deco glamour, while its ribbed texture gently diffuses the light. Use a pair either side of the bed or for kitchen task lighting and adjust the shade to direct the light where you need it.
I Fittings made from strong steel with a durable electroplated finish.
I Choose between an aged black-bronze or polished chrome finish.
I Adjust using the steel bridle behind the shade.
I Complements our Shaftesbury ribbed pendant light.
I Bulb not included. We recommend our Latimer E27 or E27 golf ball bulb.
I Dust regularly with a dry e-cloth.
I Avoid harsh cleaning products as these may damage the finish.
I We advise a qualified electrician fits the light.
Desk lamps
This desk lamp is inspired by the utilitarian lighting used in pharmacies and hospitals at the advent of electricity. It has the same industrial style and prismatic shade as our Chetham reading floor lamp, while its angular proportions save on surface space. Adjustable in three places, this lamp casts multi-directional, powerful light exactly where you need it.
I Made from steel for strength and longevity.
I Comes in two finishes: bronze and satin nickel.
I Painted matt black-bronze finish has a deep, aged appearance.
I Electroplated satin nickel finish is lightly brushed for a vintage feel.
I Two knuckles on the stem feature levers for adjusting the angle.
I Shade is multi-directional for a powerful and targeted light spill.
I Toggle switch on the base easily turns the lamp on and off.
I Soft black felt underneath the base protects your surfaces.
I Comes with a subtle black braided flex with an inline switch.
I Bulb not included. We recommend using our Latimer G9 bulb.
I To care for Chetham, dust regularly with a dry e-cloth.
I Remove marks with a damp e-cloth followed by a dry one.
I Avoid harsh cleaning products as these may damage the finish.
We have expanded the Blyton collection to include a limited-edition Rhubarb colourway. Our Blyton pillar candles are made from unscented mineral wax and come in four versatile sizes. Mix different shapes and sizes together to create an atmospheric display.
I Made using mineral wax (a by-product of the oil industry) and a 100% cotton wick approved by the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), an organisation that ensures the production of this material is better for the environment and those who grow it.
I Burn times: 7x9cm for 45 hours, 7x15cm for 65 hours, 10x10cm for 55 hours, and 10x15cm for 80 hours.
I Pair the 7x9 cm and 7x15cm candles with our Bayswater, Corinium and Hanley candlesticks.
I Match the 10x10cm and 10x15cm candles with our hurricane
vases, candle domes and lanterns.
I Blyton will burn down the centre, leaving a wall of wax behind. Excess wax can be trimmed away with a knife.
I Remember to remove the Neptune paper band around the middle when the wax is within 10mm of it.
I Trim the wick to 5mm before lighting the candle to prevent soot dropping onto the wax.
We have expanded our Lewes collection with three new storage jars. Made from ceramic with Lewes’ signature rippled surface and soft grey hue, each lidded jar features a decorative finial and an airtight seal. Use the three sizes together for tea, coffee, and sugar, or just one for biscuits or another household staple.
Behind the design
I Made from strong, hardwearing stoneware.
I Glossy pale grey glaze to the interior and exterior.
I Silicone seal to the lids ensures the jars are airtight.
I Lids topped with a decorative rounded finial.
I Jars are completely food safe, including the seals.
I The small size holds 500g, the medium 1000g and the large 2000g.
I Not suitable for the dishwasher or microwave; wash by hand.
Our Florence scatter cushions in Odette now come in two new colourways. Odette is blended from cotton and linen, with a joyous harvest-inspired pattern that brings the organic shapes of nature into the home. Choose between fresh Alpine and classic Old Rose, both of which introduce gentle colour to a space.
I Odette print in Old Rose measures 33x55cm.
I Odette print in Alpine measures 57x57cm.
I Covers are a bleached 40% cotton and 60% linen base cloth with a tight, hard-wearing weave.
I Pattern is on both sides of the cover.
I Old Rose cover is finished with pure cotton piping in Rhubarb, while the Alpine cover has contrasting Quince piping.
I Old Rose cover has sage accents to enhance the pattern and Alpine features soft pink ones.
I Each removeable cushion cover has a concealed zip.
I Cotton cushion pads are filled with duck feather and down.
I Covers are dry clean only.
I The covers and pads can only be purchased separately in store.
Cromer is blended from breathable merino and lambswool for luxurious softness. The classic basketweave design introduces subtle pattern to a space, while its fresh Alpine colourway transcends the seasons. Woven in Lancashire, this throw is crafted from New Zealand wool which is world-renowned for producing luxuriously soft fabric.
I Made from 45% merino lambswool and 55% lambswool.
I Lambswool is taken from a sheep’s first shearing, and merino is from a specific sheep breed – both are known for producing the finest, softest quality yarns.
I The throw goes through a wet raising process to lift the woollen fibres to the surface and produce an even softer handle.
I Fringing and warp are in the same neutral white shade.
I Cromer’s large, oversized nature lends itself to layering over a bed or sofa.
I Made in Lancashire using REACH compliant, azo-free dyes.
I We recommend professional dry cleaning only.
Exclusive to this season only, the Randall apron is now available in our new Rhubarb colourway. Made from a pure cotton twill fabric, this durable and washable apron makes for a reliable companion anywhere from kitchen to studio.
I Features two spacious pockets at the front.
I Adjustable design with two antique brass buttons and three buttonholes on the neck loop. At its smallest setting, it’s 13cm and the total loop length is 51cm.
I Wash at 30° then line dry and iron on a medium heat.
I Suitable for dry cleaning.
I Due to the natural material, there may be colour variation and fading with washing over time.
Printed linen
Odette’s expressive, fluid pattern is inspired by the bountiful harvest. It was brought to life by textile designer Beki Bright and has been digitally printed onto linen and cotton fabric. This fabric brings the organic silhouettes of nature into the home and comes in three nature-inspired hues.
I Bleached base cloth made from 60% linen and 40% cotton.
I The flax fibres create characterful flecks and slubs in the fabric.
I Pattern created by London-based textile designer Beki Bright.
I Woven and digitally printed in Britain.
I Made using European Flax Certified linen and REACH compliant dyes.
I Odette has a large pattern repeat; the vertical repeat is 60cm, while the horizontal is 43cm.
I Larger pattern repeats are less visible, especially when used for upholstery, giving the fabric a fluid appearance.
I The fabric comes in three colourways: Old Rose, Quince and Alpine.
I Each features a contrasting outline around the white shapes; Old Rose has a sage outline, Alpine a soft pink one, and Quince a more vibrant pink.
Old Rose /metre (fabric price band C)

I High Martindale score of 40,000 makes this fabric suitable for domestic and commercial use.
I Odette can be used for upholstery, window dressings and cushions.
I If using the fabric for upholstery, we advise using a schedule 3 interliner to comply with fire retardancy regulations.
I We recommend ordering all the fabric you need in one go to ensure it’s from the same batch.
I Pattern is on one side of the fabric only.
I Fabric weight is 392gsm.
I To care for Odette, wash the fabric at 30° and line dry.
I Iron on a medium heat.
I We recommend professional dry cleaning for upholstery and loose covers.
I Do not tumble dry.
We have introduced two new colourways, Rhubarb and Alpine, to our Linara fabric collection. Rhubarb shares the warm rosy pink hue of our seasonal paint, while Alpine is a fresh blue-green. Linara is blended from cotton and linen to create a fabric that is not only durable and breathable, but also very soft to the touch.
I Midweight fabric blended from 63% cotton and 37% linen.
I Made using European Flax Certified linen and REACH compliant dyes.
I Linara has a brushed finish which teases the fibres up through the surface to give the fabric a soft and supple handle.
I This brushed cotton finish is on one side of the fabric only.
I High Martindale score of 40,000 makes this fabric suitable for domestic and commercial use.
I Linara can be used for upholstery, window dressings and scatter cushion covers.

Linara, AlpineDining chairs and headboards
Having updated our fabric collection for the new season, there are some important changes to note regarding stocked fabrics.
Our headboards were previously stocked in Imogen Holkham Sand and our dining chairs in Clara Natural and Hugo Spelt. We have since removed the Imogen and Clara collections completely. While we continue to offer Hugo Spelt as an option, it’s no longer the stocked fabric for dining chairs.
Both dining chairs and headboards will now be stocked in Linara Natural only. Made from a durable cotton and linen blend, Linara is a sturdy fabric for everyday upholstery and the Natural colourway complements any scheme.
This season, product improvements range from small tweaks to thorough redesigns. We welcome back the Ardingly cabinet with a host of exciting updates, while the new Chichester workstation includes everything you need to work from home effectively.
Our Chichester workstation has been updated to reflect the evolution of home working in recent years. The result is a compact office space you can put away at the end of the day, leaving you with a beautiful Georgian-style dresser. This timeless design conceals a solid oak pull-out work surface and a lockable drawer.
I Available in two sizes, 3ft and 4ft
I Sizes correspond to our Chichester dressers, so you can mix and match top and bottom sections if you wish.
I Cabinets are made from tulipwood and plywood for strength and stability.
I The 3ft size features our standard Chichester doors while the 4ft has bifold doors to save space.
I Both sizes feature two shelves in the top cabinet. The 4ft size has an additional shelf in the lower cupboard.
I Shelves are fully adjustable on our traditional zig-zag shelving system.
I Central back panel in the top section secures on a magnet, so you can push it to the side and feed cables through.
I The lower section features a cut-out at the back for cable management and ventilation purposes.
I Faux drawer front conceals an oak work surface which folds down on flap hinges and pulls out. The surface is held in the open position by our adjustable Chichester roller catches.
I This work surface is now in the bottom section of the cabinet rather than the top, so you can use just the base on its own.
I Lockable oak drawer in the lower cupboard for keeping important documents and objects safe.
I A spare key is provided for this drawer, which you can store on the magnet behind the faux drawer front.
I There is also a filing drawer which can be used for normal storage or suspension files.
I Two removeable metal rods are supplied with the filing drawer. You can adjust their position to accommodate foolscap and A4 files.
I Adjustable roller catches on the doors let you adjust the tension to your preference.
I Georgian-inspired design with carved skirting and moulded door panels.
I Polished chrome handles and hinges.
I Height-adjustable rear legs for levelling.
I Anti-tilt fixings are supplied.
I Oak protected with Natural Oak IsoGuard®, our wood protection oil that prevents damage while maintaining the timber’s natural colour and qualities.
I Interior and exterior are hand-finished with a customisable eggshell paint.
I Clean the oak with our surface soap and use our IsoGuard® care kit to treat any damage.
I Refresh the oak finish every couple of years with our IsoGuard® treatment oil.
I To clean the painted timber, simply wipe with a damp e-cloth and follow up with a dry one.
Our painted furniture offers many benefits; customisation, durability and longevity to name just a few. Every so often it presents us with a problem to solve, too.
The Chichester laundry cabinet comes with either our Ashcroft or Somerton baskets for storing spare bedding, towels and other essentials. Our customers found that frequently taking these baskets in and out was chipping the cabinet’s painted finish over time.
To resolve this, we have added protective oak strips to the front frame where the baskets contact the cabinet. These strips run horizontally and will be prefitted prior to installation.
We already include vertical oak strips inside the cabinet to keep the baskets centred, and we have made these a little taller to make pulling the baskets in and out as seamless as possible.
These improvements will apply to all laundry cabinets on order and in production, but we are conscious of the customers who already have them and may be experiencing this issue.
As a result, these protective oak strips will be available to order for retrofitting by our team. Please note retrofitted strips will be permanently installed as opposed to removeable as they are in the new cabinets.
Cabinet only
This season welcomes an updated version of the Ardingly cabinet. Ardingly’s beauty lies in its versatility; you might use it as a drinks or display cabinet, as a place to work, or somewhere to get ready for the day. We have carefully considered all possible uses of the cabinet to improve its functionality for the customer.
I Ardingly’s oak base is now finished with Natural Oak IsoGuard® rather than Darkened Oak.
I The legs are fully jointed to the timber base rather than bolted on to prevent issues with alignment.
I We have added an upstand to the cabinet surface where the doors close against it, which is raised 2cm from the oak base.
I Magnets are concealed in this upstand and the top frame of the cabinet to ensure the doors are held securely shut.
I The painted surface is now removeable and inset into the oak base. This means you can replace it with the marble one without changing the surface height.
I We have made it easier to remove the back panel, which helps
with fitting the mirror and accessing the LED strips.
I New levelling mechanism to each of the legs allows you to easily level the cabinet while it is in position rather than having to tilt it for access.
I The LED strip lighting in the top cabinet is now modular so you don’t need to replace the whole system if it is damaged, just the individual part affected.
I There is no longer a contact switch for turning the lights on and off. Instead, there is a discreet dimmable touch sensor on the back righthand corner of the surface.
I Press the touch sensor once to turn the lights on and off and press and hold to adjust the brightness up or down. The system remembers the previous brightness level next time you turn it on.
I Ardingly’s base is made from strong solid oak, sustainably sourced from the Appalachians in northern America.
I The upper painted section is made from tulipwood and birch plywood for strength and stability.
I Upper section is hand-finished with a customisable eggshell paint.
I One colour is used throughout the interior and exterior for a seamless look.
I Two shelves inside the cabinet are fully adjustable on our traditional zig-zag shelving system.
I Two shelves to the inside of each door feature removeable bronze bars for keeping delicate objects safely in position.
I There is a cut-out in the rail at the back of the surface for feeding cables through.
I LED strip lighting in the upper section illuminates the shelves.
I LED strips are pointed backwards to omit a soft glow, rather than a harsh light.
I Hardware has a black-bronze finish to complement the heritage design.
I Cabinets are supplied with anti-tilt wall bracket fixings.
I The optional lower shelf is made from solid oak with a traditional slatted design. It slots onto stretchers in the side frame; no fixings are required.
I We use honed Carrara marble for the cabinets that include it. This naturally occurring metamorphic rock is unique to northern Tuscany and adds a luxurious edge to the cabinet.
I The optional mirror is backed with safety film and fitted from the back of the cabinet.
We have altered the specification of our Barrington mattress to improve its sustainability. The pocket springs are now bonded together using heat rather than glue, making the mattress 100% recyclable. Barrington is made from start to finish in Yorkshire and filled with the finest natural materials for support and comfort.
I Filled with wool, cotton, mohair, flax and hemp.
I Natural fillings ensure comfort and temperature regulation, while wool makes the mattress naturally fire-proof.
I Mattress cover is handwoven from a wool and viscose blend for strength and breathability.
I Cover has a traditional quilted design.
I Our supplier uses British Wool’s traceable wool scheme, so the mattress can be traced directly to the farmers who produce it.
I The mattress contains no foam, glue, or fire-retardant chemicals to make it 100% recyclable.
I A combination of pocket springs and high-density micro springs ensure even support.
I Our supplier’s innovative pocket spring design - Cortec ™ - bonds the springs using heat rather than glue.
I Comes in Single, Double, King and Super King sizes which correspond to standard UK bed sizes.
I Choose between two levels of tension: Medium and Firm.
I Each mattress features four handles for turning. We recommend turning it every 3-6 months.
I To care for your mattress, remove dust every few months using a soft brush.
I Do not vacuum as this can displace the natural fillings
We have renamed our Elcot tiles Meldon, after a quarry in Devon. While there was some variation amongst the Elcot tiles before, all Meldon tiles will be rustic in character, with a ridged surface and uneven edges.
The tiles will be available in two sizes: 7.5x15cm and 10x20cm.
Meldon’s natural look and feel adds character to a room, whether used to tile a whole wall or just for a statement splashback.
Behind
the design
I Meldon is made from terracotta and dust-pressed to create the textured surface.
I It has slim, rectangular proportions inspired by vintage Metro tiles.
I Meldon comes in four colourways: Fog, Salt, Mist and Snow.
I It features a moisture-resistant engobe glaze as well as a coloured glaze.
I The tiles are glazed by hand in a family-run workshop in Marlborough.
I Meldon can be used in any room of the home, including the bathroom and kitchen.
I To keep clean, simply wipe with a cloth and standard tile cleaning products.
I Regularly dry if using in the kitchen or bathroom.
I Only suitable for use on the wall, not the floor.
Orford is our kitchen organisation collection which aims to make life a little easier. These versatile accessories are designed to fit in our cabinets and drawers and each piece is made from solid oak with traditional joinery. We have recently improved the drawer dividers and knife block for an even more seamless user experience.
I Both the mid and edge dividers are now sold separately – as opposed to together in a set of four – to offer customers more flexibility.
I These have a prismatic shape and are designed to sit in the middle of the drawer box, where they run from front to back.
I We have added an extending mechanism to one end of the divider. You can adjust this using an allen key to ensure a snug fit.
I The extendable bolt is covered with silicone to protect the drawer and there is another silicone pad at the opposite end of the divider.
I These edge dividers are also designed to run from the front to the back of the drawer box, but they are sloping on one side and flat on the other to sit neatly against the outer edge of the drawer.
I Each divider now comes with optional adhesive stickers for
I The knife block is the only Orford product that sits laterally rather than vertically in the drawer.
I It’s designed to be used between two of the drawer dividers or inside the 150mm tray.
I Orford is protected with Seasoned Oak IsoGuard®, our own specially formulated wood protection oil.
I Seasoned Oak lends the timber a subtly silvered tone.
I Clean the oak with our Surface Soap.
I One allen key is provided per order of Orford dividers, rather than with each divider.
I Combine with our Barlow and Ratcliff dividers to add more sections.
I Don’t overextend the dividers as this may distort the drawer box.
securing it to the outer edge of the drawer box.
I Combine with our Barlow and Ratcliff dividers to add more sections.
I Holds up to five knives.
I We have added three silicone feet to the underside of the block to prevent it from slipping when you open and close the drawer and to protect the drawer.
I Use the IsoGuard® Care Kit to treat any damage.
I Refinish the oak every couple of years using our IsoGuard® Treatment Oil in the Seasoned Oak shade.

We have adjusted the extension mechanism in our Suffolk extending dining table to make it easier to operate. It still uses a steel rack-and-pinion mechanism, but improved stability allows for smoother extension. The table’s Shaker-inspired design remains unchanged, as do the two sizes and their seating capacities.
I The extension runners on each side are now symmetrical so they self-stabilise when you pull them out.
I Both sets of runners now have a rack-and-pinion mechanism attached, rather than just one, for a smoother extension.
I The leaf supports are now made from tubular powder-coated steel rather than timber. This design is strong yet subtle, with less impact on leg room and the overall aesthetic of the table.
I These supports are mounted to each set of extension runners rather than linked to both. Keeping the two runners independent of one another ensures a seamless extension.
I Smaller size seats between four and eight and includes two extension leaves.
I Larger size seats between six and 12 and includes three extension leaves.
I Leaves are stored within table.
I Concealed steel rack-and-pinion mechanism extends the tabletop from the centre.
I Brass toggle latches secure and release the tabletop.
I Shaker-inspired design including Suffolk’s signature turned legs.
I Constructed with traditional mortise-and-tenon joints.
I Solid oak tabletop protected with Seasoned Oak IsoGuard®, which gives the timber a subtly silvered finish.
I Base hand-finished with a customisable eggshell paint.
I Discreet glides under the legs protect your floors.
