INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

SOCIAL CONTEXT WHAT IS ACTIVE PARTICIPATION? AND HOW DO WE CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIAL CHANGE IN EUROPE? Thursday September 26 2013 // 9.00 - 19.00 The University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Humanities // Karen Blixens Vej 4, ”Festsalen”, 2300 Copenhagen S

INVITATION As part of the project Social Context an international conference will take place on September 26 2013 at the University of Copenhagen. We would like to invite you to participate in the conference where artists, cultural & social theorists, curators, philosophers and architects will present examples of how they, within their professional practice, work with the social context they live in. Through specific cases they will present examples of projects and initiatives, which challenge the ways we today understand active social participation. The conference will initiate discussions on how art and critical thinking deal with active participation in a geographic, political and societal context, and how they contribute to social change in Europe. We are looking forward to seeing you. Language: English - Participation is free - Registration in advance is needed. Register at: www.socialcontext.info/conferences/registration The conference is organised in collaboration with the Saxo Institute, Art Workshop Lazareti and Copenhagen Initiative.
