LS 500 Public Library B U S I N E S S R E F E R E N C E S E R V I C E S The business section of the LS500 Public Library is a great starting place to satisfy all of your business information needs. Within our collection you can be sure to find varied texts, such as: howto and reference books, books covering marketing and market research as well as texts to assist with business planning and business plan writing. In addition to our reference and circulating collection, we offer workshops, sponsor competitions and provide access to SCORE representatives for private oneonone counseling. We also work in conjunction with volunteer experts from local businesses that produce marketing materials, business slogans and setup online market places. They will share their expertise in these fields to assist those interested in defining and perfecting their business’ identity and utilizing their personalized logo and marketing materials in the realization of their own online home front. Event Schedule Each month, we offer unique and exciting workshops, seminars and howto demonstrations along with our staple services (marked with an asterisk), which are offered yearround.
Our wheelchair accessible business reference area is equipped with: • 10 WiFi accessible computers • Materials available in Spanish and English • Table space and seating for up to 50 people • Copy and change machines • 100 seat meeting room (also available for patrons to reserve) • Business periodicals and Newspapers • Much more! The LS500 Public Library is fortunate to have partnerships with businesspeople who use their expertise to assist those interested in defining and perfecting their business’ identity by utilizing their personalized logo and marketing materials to create a personalized online presence.

Wanett Clyde, founder of “The Brooklyn Street” street fair, will share her experience and expertise. This seminar will cover everything from permits to marketing your fair. How to Write a Business Plan * Tuesday, March 29, 5 pm 8 pm This event is part seminar, part handson workshop. Victoria Kier, owner of Kier Inc, will be presenting. After a Q&A session, SCORE volunteers will be on hand to assist with your plan specific questions. Business Slogan and Business Logo competition registration Wednesday, March 30, 5 pm 8pm
Kier Inc. and the DesJarlais Group sponsor the LS500 Public Library Slogan and Logo competitions. Participants will compete for a suite of marketing materials including but not limited to: personalized business cards, stationary and packaging materials. All participants must attend this registration event and have a valid LS500 library card. Card applications will be available the evening of the seminar for those who are interested. More participant details are available on our website: lspl.org Design your marketing materials using Microsoft Office* Tuesday, April 5, 5 pm 8 pm . and the DesJarlais Group will share information on designing marketing materials for your small business. Techniques for using Microsoft Office, library marketing resources and materials as well as free online tips will be shared.
