LA CITTÀ MURATA, UNO SCRIGNO PREZIOSO Il centro storico di Como, all’interno delle mura medievali, conserva il fascino dei tempi passati ed è agevolmente percorribile a piedi. Partendo da piazza Cavour, sul lato ovest, non perdete l’occasione di percorrere la diga foranea e di giungere al monumento Life Electric dell’archistar Daniel Libeskind dedicato ad Alessandro Volta, l’illustre scienziato comasco, le cui invenzioni e cimeli sono conservati nel vicino Tempio Voltiano in stile neoclassico. Dopo aver superato il futurista Monumento ai Caduti, dalla cui sommità si gode di un incomparabile panorama, e l’hangar dell’idroscalo internazionale comincia la passeggiata delle ville di Borgo Vico (ora passeggiata Lino Gelpi): una suggestiva sequenza di eleganti dimore patrizie del ‘700 e ‘800, sino alla

Unique to the world, the Como Silk Museum opened in 1990 to illustrate the history of the complete cycle of silk production, from the silkworm rearing process to the ennobling phase. In stile neoclassico tipicamente lombardo è stata costruita a partire dal 1782 per la famiglia degli Odescalchi su progetto dell’architetto ticinese Simone Cantoni. Al parco romantico si accede attraversando due aperture laterali, al fianco della Villa. Passando tra cedri del Libano, ippocastani e platani si raggiunge il Ponte del chilometro, un ponte pedonale realizzato nel 2012 dalla Camera di Commercio di Como, lungo 42 metri a un’unica campata che conduce alle Serre e a Villa del Grumello che, nei documenti del XV secolo era un rustico su due piani, contornato da una vigna, da un prato e da un ricco frutteto con noci e castagni. THE GREENWAY, A DREAM WALK BETWEEN COLONNO AND CADENABBIA It covers only 10 km but along the path there is a universe of fascinating views which let you breath the soul and date back to the splendour of the past letting us dig into our origins. The Greenway is all this in a handful of kilometers from Tramezzina. From Colonno to Sala Comacina, proceeding to Ossuccio, Lenno, Tremezzo, Mezzegra until Cadenabbia di Griante: this Greenway goes along the lake, then coming out gently on the top of the residential areas of these seven small gems. Step by step, covering the whole length for 3 and half hours, it will not be difficult to discover the different depths of this territory, able to switch from rural scenarios to historical hamlets, from lacustrine sights to villas and gardens without comparison. The Greenway is not just a one-day excursion: the path is inserted in a network where it is given people the possibility to stop and restart the path from the preferred point, thanks to different contact points with the road network and mainly with the means of transport, either buses or boats for transport.

Sono soltanto 10 chilometri, ma lungo quel percorso si è espanso un universo fatto di scorci che affascinano lo sguardo e fanno respirare l’anima, che ci riportano ai fasti che furono e ci fanno scavare nelle nostre origini. Sì, la Greenway è tutto questo in una manciata di chilometri di Tremezzina. Da Colonno a Sala Comacina, per poi continuare con Ossuccio, Lenno, Tremezzo, Mezzegra e fermarsi a Cadenabbia di Griante: questo verde itinerario si snoda con dolcezza fra il lungo lago, per poi riemergere gentilmente sopra gli abitati di queste sette piccole gemme. E passo dopo passo, coprendo le tre ore e mezza circa che occorrono per percorrerla interamente, non sarà difficile scoprire le diverse profondità di questo territorio, capace di spaziare fra scenari rurali, borghi storici, vedute lacustri, ville e giardini senza rivali. La Greenway non è solo un’escursione di un giorno: il percorso è inserito nella rete di collegamenti presente, dando la possibilità a chiunque di interrompersi e di riprendere il tragitto nel punto che si è scelto grazie a differenti punti di contatto con la rete stradale e soprattutto con i mezzi pubblici, che siano autobus o battelli per navigazione.

1. DA COLONNO A SALA COMACINA In primis niente paura, segnalazioni e indicazioni sono presenti sul percorso: dalle piastre in metallo con il logo ai segnavia in pietra, passando per i cartelli direzionali riportanti anche la distanza ancora da percorrere. Per iniziare la camminata serve entrare da sud a Colonno, prendendo via Cappella che sale a sinistra e seguendo “Greenway del Lago”. Il passaggio è per il centro storico del paese, la piazza principale e il ponte sul torrente Pessetta, prima di tuffarsi all’inseguimento di Sala Comacina lungo la vecchia strada Regina. Qui si inizia a respirare, camminando tra appezzamenti terrazzati e piccoli uliveti. La cappelletta di San Rocco fa suonare il campanello e proprio da qui scende una scalinata per il nucleo storico medioevale e il porticciolo: siamo arrivati a Sala Comacina. L’asfalto viene lasciato presto a se stesso, per imboccare poi la nobile passeggiata che garantisce un posto in prima fila sull’Isola Comacina.

2. ROAD TO OSSUCCIO Every part, in which the Greenways is divided, takes about 35-40 minutes on foot. The second part takes you right to Ossuccio. Leaving behind Sala Comacina and crossing over the bridge on Premonte Valley you enter the ex-municipality which is now part of Tremezzina. The temptation could be to cross “Zoca de l’oli” which is the bay in front of the town where the water is “as smooth as oil” in order to reach Isola Comacina and the ruins of the basilica of Sant’Eufemia or the church of San Giovanni. But this is another story. In the village of Spurano the name of the

Non venne più abitata fino a che nel Novecento fu riscoperta e passò sotto la responsabilità dell’Accademia di Brera, la quale fece realizzare tre case per artisti in stile razionalista.

Facciamo un passo indietro: la villa, attualmente di proprietà del Fai (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) si trova sulla punta della penisola di Lavedo ed è stata costruita all’inizio del XVIII secolo, frequentata poi da intellettuali ed esponenti del Risorgimento italiano. Ed eccola, aperta da marzo a novembre: linee sobrie, semplici, con una terrazza a lago semplicemente unica e dominata dall’enorme leccio potato a ombrello, così come la loggia, dalla quale si gode di una vista mozzafiato. Si tratta di un unicum in cui si intrecciano elementi di giardino all’italiana, peculiarità del giardino all’inglese e aspetti del giardino alla francese. Afterwards, it was attended by intellectuals and representatives of the Italian Risorgimento. Now it is open from March to November. The architecture is simple, there is a unique terrace overlooking the lake and dominated by an umbrella-shaped oak tree and a lodge from which you can enjoy a breath-taking sight. It is something unique where you can find aspects of the Italian gardens, English gardens and French gardens. Recently the charm of Villa Balbianello has not escaped from the attention of George Lucas. The father of Star Wars wanted to locate the residence of the Senator Padmé Amidala on the “planet of the lakes” Naboo, in the “Episode II - The attack of the clones” released in 2002. The three periods of Villa Carlotta Villa Carlotta is an outstanding 70.000 square meters villa and it is set between the mountains and beautiful views of the peninsula of Bellagio. The building dates back to around 1690 and, during the Clerici period, the Italian style garden was created in front of the villa with stairs, balustrades, a fountain and an extraordinary pergola of agrume trees. I tre periodi di Villa Carlotta Settantamila metri quadrati non sono certo una cosa da poco: Villa Carlotta si trova incastonata fra montagne e splendidi scorci sulla penisola di Bellagio. La costruzione risale intorno al 1690, e proprio al periodo Clerici risale la creazione del giardino all’italiana che fronteggia la villa, con scale, balaustre, una fontana e lo straordinario pergolato di agrumi. Fu invece durante il periodo dell’imprenditore e collezionista Giambattista Sommariva (la acquistò nel 1795 e la portò al suo massimo splendore) che la villa divenne il museo ancora oggi visitabile con opere di Canova, Hayez e Thorvaldsen. Pezzi artistici di inestimabile valore. Infine passò nelle mani della famiglia Sassonia-Meinigen che si occupò della formazione e dello sviluppo del giardino paesaggistico che negli anni ha ottenuto fama internazionale: dalla fioritura dei rododendri alle oltre 150 varietà di azalee è uno spettacolo di floricoltura senza eguali. Non visitarla sarebbe davvero un peccato, lascerebbe un che di incompleto alla vostra esperienza con la Greenway. Sospesa fra un magnifico parco botanico e le sue sale ricche di capolavori d’arte si pone come un luogo unico, in cui la magia della natura ha saputo miscelarsi con sapienza e armonia con l’ingegno umano.

A PASSEGGIO NEI BORGHI DI TREMEZZINA

WALKING IN THE VILLAGES OF TREMEZZINA The path of villages is, beautiful, easy, suitable for everyone and can be done in all seasons of the year. It develops in stages, for each of which a walk between 15 and 30 minutes is expected. The departure is in Portezza, a small hamlet located between Tremezzo and Lenno, originally inhabited by fishermen on the lake. We continue towards Giulino di Mezzegra: here the route begins near VillaBelmonte, the place where Mussolini was sentenced to death on April 28, 1945. You then enter Bonzanigo, one of the greatest history stories of the whole Tremezzina. The path continues in the hamlet of Viano, where the remains of the Triulzi spinning mill are found, active from 1854 to 1877 in the manufacture of silk. Following a jump of about 350 meters (more demanding than the rest of the route),you reach the hamlet of Intignano, in the kitchen you can see the remains of an ancient fortifield courtyard, the place of origin of the Mainoni Family, a kind of probability on a Roman settlement before the fifth century.

La partenza è a Portezza, piccola frazione a lago situata fra Tremezzo, dal 2008 nella lista dei Borghi più belli d’Italia, e Lenno, originariamente abitata da pescatori. Si prosegue verso Giulino di Mezzegra: qui il percorso inizia in prossimità di Villa Belmonte, luogo dove venne eseguita la condanna a morte di Mussolini il 28 aprile del 1945. Si entra poi in Bonzanigo, una delle frazioni più ricche di storia di tutta Tremezzina. Da qui si prosegue per Viano, dove si incontrano i resti della Filanda Triulzi, attiva dal 1854 al 1877 nella lavorazione della seta. Percorrendo un tratto panoramico si giunge alla frazione di Intignano, luogo d’origine della famiglia Mainoni, in cui sono visibili i resti di un’antica corte fortificata, sorta probabilmente su un insediamento romano anteriore al V secolo. Moltrasio, paese ricco di Ville e dimore storiche, è famoso per il “sasso” ovvero la pietra calcarea di colore molto scuro usata anche per costruzioni edili, che risale a ben 2.500 anni fa. La leggenda narra che una ragazzina, di ritorno a piedi dai monti, fu inseguita da un losco malfattore che voleva abusare di lei. Piuttosto di cedere alla violenza, la giovane pregò ardentemente la Madonna di aiutarla e poi si gettò nel dirupo, dove cadde anche il suo inseguitore: lei si salvò miracolosamente. Laglio è stato reso famosissimo dalla presenza della dimora hollywoodiana di George Clooney, divenuta anche meta turistica, è una sorta di isola felice per tranquillità e atmosfera impareggiabile. Argegno è un piccolo borgo a lago di 600 abitanti. Le vie e scalinate acciottolate all’interno del paese lo rendono molto caratteristico. Ottimo il lido per la vita da spiaggia. Il paese ha una bella movida serale con trattorie, ristorantini e loungebar in grado di soddisfare le esigenze di ogni tipo di clientela. Molto famoso il pontile, dove attraccano anche gli aliscafi.

Gravedona, Sorico and Dongo create the territory of the Three Pievi and this was exactly the driving force of the spread of Christianity in the area of the Upper Lake, between the IV and V centuries, witnessed by the large number of churches. If you are looking for peace for your spirit, Stazzona is the right place for you; it is located between Dongo and Gravedona, it is an old rural village situated in the ancient way that through the pass of San Iorico linked Lake Como to Switzerland. Gravedona is a little town: sweet waters in front, green mountains behind, the historic centre of narrow streets, alleys, squares and ancient facades in the middle. Fra mulattiere e dolci escursioni nei borghi di una volta è bene trovar tempo anche per il castello di Rezzonico e la Chiesa di Sant’Abbondio di Acquaseria. A formare il territorio delle Tre Pievi erano Gravedona, Sorico e Dongo e proprio questo fu il motore della diffusione del Cristianesimo nella zona dell’Alto Lago, a cavallo tra il IV e V secolo, testimoniato dall’elevato numero di chiese presenti. Se siete in cerca di pace per lo spirito il posto giusto è Stazzona, posizionato fra Dongo e Gravedona: si tratta di un vecchio nucleo rurale situato sull’antica direttrice che attraverso il passo di San Iorio collegava il Lago di Como alla Svizzera. La “fuoriserie” dell’Alto Lago è però Gravedona: acque dolci davanti, montagne verdi alle spalle, in mezzo centro storico di vicoli, viuzze, piazzette e facciate antiche. E poi c’è il “lunapark dello sport”: vela, windsurf, kitesurf, sci nautico, nuoto, ma anche canyoning, rafting, canoa, arrampicata, senza scordarsi di tennis, bici, mountain bike, escursioni in grotta, parapendio e trekking. Spazio poi a Domaso e al suo fascino fatato da antico paese di pescatori, oggi “capitale lariana” del windsurf, per poi concludere con Colico: centro pulsante e altro punto strategico, di semplice contatto con la Valtellina, la Valchia-

venna, il Passo dello Spluga, quello del Maloja e dello Julier. Da segnalare le favolose passeggiate lungo il Lago che collegano Pianello del Lario a Dongo, per proseguire poi su Gravedona e da Domaso a Sorico (vedi cartina a pag. 2)

AUTORITÀ DI BACINO DEL LARIO DEI LAGHI MINORI

IL LAGO DI COMO VERSO IL FUTURO, OLTRE LA PANDEMIA CON CORAGGIO L’Autorità di Bacino del Lario è impegnata quotidianamente a supporto del territorio con opere piccole e grandi per preservare uno straordinario contesto ambientale e migliorare costantemente le infrastrutture a beneficio della collettività anche in chiave turistica, come ci spiega di suo pugno il Presidente dell’Ente, Luigi Lusardi. Se Dio vuole ne stiamo uscendo! C’è voluto coraggio, pazienza, impegno…ma stiamo uscendo dall’emergenza Coronavirus. Ora più che mai, però, è importante non abbassare la guardia, e non solo da un punto di vista sanitario (a questo penserà l’ottimo Generale Figliuolo…) ma anche da un punto di vista di rilancio dell’economia e della vita quotidiana del nostro territorio e della nostra gente. E questo è un compito che spetta a tutti i cittadini. L’Autorità di Bacino in questa battaglia sarà in prima fila, pronta ad impegnarsi - come sempre - con coraggio, ab-

negazione e creatività. Il simbolo della rinascita, da parte nostra, può essere identificato con la ristrutturazione della nostra sede di Menaggio, diventata un centro moderno in grado di rispondere con efficienza e rapidità alle sfide, anche quotidiane, alle quali il nostro ente è chiamato. Del resto l’Autorità di Bacino del Lario e dei Laghi Minori, sta assumendo di anno in anno compiti ancora più importanti che ne determineranno un ruolo di sempre maggiore visibilità sul territorio, territorio, lo ricordo, che racchiude l’area del Lario e Comuni di tre Province, Como, Lecco e Sondrio. Per questo appare ancora più importante pianificare le scelte strategiche che ci vedranno impegnati negli anni a venire; ed è basilare che queste scelte siano condivise dai comuni che sono parte integrante dell’Autorità di Bacino, di più, che sono l’essenza stessa dell’Adb. Noi viviamo e lavoriamo strettamente connessi con il territorio perché il luogo che abitiamo rappresenta la nostra ricchezza più importante. Il futuro è, dunque, imprescindibilmente legato alla nostra capacità di vivere in simbiosi con l’ambiente circostante, preservandolo e valoriz-

zandolo. Vivendo in un apprezzabile contesto ambientale abbiamo, infatti, un grande vantaggio: possiamo coniugare gli investimenti a difesa e promozione del territorio con gli investimenti a sostegno di un’economia turistica che non può non rappresentare il nostro futuro. L’Autorità di Bacino si è sempre mossa in questa ottica con decisione, sostenuta in maniera compatta - con coraggio e lungimiranza - dai comuni che la costituiscono. Del resto, dalla quantità e qualità delle opere realizzate, emerge chiaramente una strada di investimenti ecocompatibili, presa per aumentare il potenziale turistico dell’area lariana. Ora, in chiave futura, l’Autorità di Bacino è chiamata ad un’ulteriore salto qualità: non solo essere il terminale finale di un complesso lavoro di raccolta e gestione delle esigenze dei suoi associati, ma proporsi anche come forza innovativa e trainante di un’intera economia. Il lavoro è proseguito concretamente anche durante la pandemia, come testimoniano opere come la passeggiata a lago di Onno a Oliveto Lario, il rifacimento della mantellata al porto di Colico, la ristrutturazione del Lungolago di Gera Lario, il completamento della passeggiata di Malgrate, la messa in sicurezza del porto di

Torno, etc. Ma già stiamo guardando avanti e sono in avanzata fase progettuale altre opere come la piazzola interscambio per la ricarica elettrica di auto e imbarcazioni a Bellano e Gera Lario, la messa in sicurezza del muraglione a lago di Gravedona, la ristrutturazione del pontile della navigazione a Colonno e a Torno, il rifacimento della segnaletica per la messa in sicurezza del traffico navale nel canale dell’Isola Comacina. Insomma siamo sempre proiettati al futuro, anche perché il nostro è, in un certo senso, un compito di guida del territorio, un compito che siamo pronti ad assumerci mettendo in pratica la nostra sperimentata filosofia fatta di lavoro e idee, di entusiasmo e impegno, guardando al futuro come a una sfida da vincere. In questi tempi difficili è fondamentale guardare avanti con coraggio; come è nel DNA dell’Autorità di Bacino del Lario e dei Laghi Minori e, se permettete, anche del suo Presidente. THE ROOMS OF LUCHINO VISCONTI - MUSEUM In the heart of Villa Erba there is a piece of Italian cinema history: the rooms of Luchino Visconti. A path where the deep bond between the director and the villa is relived. Here the director lived moments of great light-heartedness in the long summers of his childhood in the company of his brothers and mother. In 1972, Luchino Visconti wanted to retire to the Villa where he completed the editing of Ludwig, one of his most important masterpieces.

LACMUS FESTIVAL Festival Internazionale di Musica classica 5° edizione | 8 – 18 luglio 2021 Programma 8 luglio a Villa Carlotta, che proporrà tre concerti (alle 11, alle 18 e alle 21) nella maratona pianistica “Angeli e demoni” in omaggio ai 700 anni dalla nascita di Dante. Sarà riproposta la “silent wi-fi experience” : i concerti a Villa Carlotta saranno infatti ascoltabili in parte dal vivo, seduti di fronte ai musicisti, e in parte in cuffia wi-fi, visitando contemporaneamente il parco o le sale del museo. La 2* grande celebrazione sarà “Isola Comacina 100°”, dedicata ai 100 anni dalla restituzione dell’Isola Comacina all’Italia da parte del Re del Belgio. Il 9 luglio ospiterà un gala lirico con i giovani artisti della Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel, il baritono russo Roman Burdenko e il tenore Jonathan Tetelman; in apertura l’Opening Act del cantautore Davide Van De Sfroos che ha composto un brano apposta per le celebrazioni. Il 10 luglio sull’Isola si terrà invece un gala sinfonico con l’Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano “Giuseppe Verdi” diretta da Paolo Bressan e con il pianista Louis Lortie . Villa Balbianello ospiterà l’11 luglio una doppia celebrazione: quella per i cento anni dalla morte del compositore francese Camille Saint-Saëns e i 100 dalla nascita del musicista argentino Astor Piazzolla, con gli archi del Trio Arnold e la partecipazione del bandoneonista argentino Marcelo Nisinman. Ancora Piazzolla, insieme a Debussy, Prokofiev, Stravinsky e Bartók, sarà nel programma del secondo concerto a Villa Balbianello, il 13 luglio, con il violinista Philippe Quint e il pianista Jose Gallardo. The lake Lugano on its Italian part, on the north east side, can boast a pearl called Porlezza. It is located on Ceresio, other name for the lake, the small town is in a strategic position making it important for tourism. It is located on the wide plain of the valley covering from the foot of Mount Galbiga to the foot of Mounts Val Carvagna and from Lake Como it is 20 minutes by car. In summer the lake allows swimming and the relaxing part can mingle with the surrounding mountains which are scattered by excursion paths. From such natural richness, hotels, camping sites, restaurants and infrastructures were established and they make Porlezza ideal for tourism. Between water and mountains it is possible to find a fascinating bikepedestrian path on the abandoned railway line which connected the city on Lake Lugano to Menaggio on Lake Como, and it is an itinerary covering part of Parco Val Sanagra and in part the Natural Reserve Lake Piano covering 12 km. Il Lago di Lugano, nella sua parte italiana, all’estremità nord-orientale, può vantare una piccola perla di nome Porlezza. Adagiata sul Ceresio (altro nome del lago) la piccola città occupa una porzione di territorio strategica, che la rende un importante centro turistico. Si trova, infatti, sulla vasta pianura della valle che parte dai piedi del Monte Galbiga fino a quelli dei Monti della Val Cavargna e, dal Lago di Como, dista una ventina di minuti d’auto. D’estate le dolci acque del lago permettono la balneazione e il lato vacanziero del relax riesce a miscelarsi con le alture circostanti, costellate di sentieri escursionistici. Da tanta ricchezza naturale è nata la folta presenza di alberghi, campeggi, ristoranti e infrastrutture che rendono Porlezza l’ideale per il turismo. Fra acqua e montagne si inserisce anche un affascinante percorso ciclopedonale, sorto dalle ceneri della dismessa linea ferroviaria che collegava la città sul Lago di Lugano a Menaggio, sul Lago di Como, un itinerario che si estende in parte nel Parco Val Sanagra e in parte nella Riserva Naturale Lago di Piano, prolungandosi per circa 12 Km. Attenzione alla frazione di Cima, lungo la strada che costeggia il Ceresio verso San Mamete, che ha saputo resistere al tempo mantenendo una tipica struttura medievale e ancora oggi sono ammirabili i resti di mura e fortificazioni. guardare verso la Val d’Intelvi, ed ecco dunque spuntare le grotte di Rescia, vero e proprio fiore all’occhiello e location unica in Lombardia. Si tratta di sette grotte differenti, unite da cunicoli e scale realizzate all’inizio del secolo scorso: nelle profondità della terra è possibile ammirare piccole cascate, ruscelli, imponenti stalattiti e stalagmiti che riempiono e dominano le varie situazioni. E da un’apertura naturale a metà del percorso si può ammirare la gola in sui si getta e schianta la cascata di Santa Giulia, alta circa 70 metri. Infine, ma non certo per importanza, non va scordato che Antonio Fogazzaro, proprio ammirando le rive della sponda italiana del Lago di Lugano, ha realizzato il suo capolavoro Piccolo Mondo Antico. Lo scrittore vicentino trascorse lunghi periodi della sua vita a Villa Fogazzaro Roi, a Oria in Valsolda, trovando l’ispirazione per il celebre romanzo pubblicato nel 1896. Oggi il palazzo è di proprietà del Fai (Fondo Ambiente Italiano), a cui è stato lasciato dal pronipote di Fogazzaro: l’edificio diventò per lo scrittore un rifugio immerso nel verde, un luogo appartato e di quiete, dove poter elaborare i suoi pensieri. Visitando la villa, che conserva suoi libri e ricordi, si entra in un piccolo mondo antico ricco di suggestione, riuscendo a ritrovare fra i salottini e l’incanto del giardino pensile le atmosfere del romanzo. keeping a typical medieval structure and even today it is possible to admire the ruins of the wall and fortifications. Stopping at Porlezza it is the perfect time to look towards Val d’Intelvi and find out the caves of Rescia, a crown jewel and unique location in Lombardy. There are about 7 different caves connected through small tunnels and stairs built at the beginning of the last century. Underground it is possible to admire small waterfalls, streams, majestic stalactites and stalagmites which fill and dominate different settings. From a natural opening located half way, it is possible to observe the canyon in which the waterfall Santa Giulia, about 70 meters high, cascades into. Last but not least, it is important not to forget that Antonio Fogazzaro wrote his masterpiece “Piccolo Mondo Antico” just admiring the banks of the Italian side of Lake Lugano. The writer from Vicenza spent long periods of his life at Villa Fogazzaro Roi, located in Ora in Valsolda, finding the inspiration for the famous novel published in 1896. Today the building is property of FAI, Fondo Ambientale Italiano, left by the grand-nephew of Fogazzaro. The building became for the writer a refuge immersed in the nature, a quite and secluded place, where he could re-elaborate his thoughts. Visiting the villa, which still conserves his books and memories, is like entering a small ancient world rich in suggestion and it is possible to find the atmosphere of the novel among the private rooms and the gorgeous suspended garden.

Da visitare la chiesa intitolata a San Giovanni Battista, che vien fatta risalire al 300: tradizione vuole che vi sia stato lasciato, da un vescovo in transito, uno dei chiodi della croce di Cristo. Da visitare il Teatro della Società (Piazza Garibaldi) dell’architetto lecchese Giuseppe Bovara. Altri centri di sicuro appeal turistico sono il cosiddetto “vallo delle mura”, la scalinata che porta alla Basilica di San Nicolò con annesso campanile (altissimo e visitabile), il monumento ad Alessandro Manzoni nella centrale via Roma e tanti altri dettagli minori che gli amanti dell’arte e dell’architettura non faticheranno a scovare. Non va dimenticata l’offerta enogastronomica: i missoltini (pesci di lago), i vini di Montevecchia e gli ottimi formaggi di malga della Valsassina. Completano il quadro la fornitissima linea di navigazione con battelli a cadenza oraria frequente e le spiagge tranquille e vivibili.

LECCO AND THE RING OF THE LAKES From the city of Manzoni’s “The Betrothed” cycle along the river Adda to the lakes of Garlate and Olginate immersed in nature, art and history. Follow the route along the right bank of River Adda from the Ponte Azzone Visconti bridge where you join the cycle path that runs along the river as far as “Addio Monti” Park in Pescate. The trail continues along the lakeshore in Garlate where you will find the Abegg Silk Museum. Continue to Olginate past the dam and the bridge till you reach what was once the railway bridge in Lavello and has now been turned into a pedestrian and cycle bridge

FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF LEONARDO DA VINCI Here’s a themed visit to discover some of the places which inspired the genius of Leonardo da Vinci. You start from the dam of Paderno d’Adda and, going north along the river bank, you reach first Sasso San Michele, and then the famous single span iron bridge (Rothlisberger bridge) placed at 80 metres above the river bed. Dal Ponte Azzone Visconti sulla riva destra dell’Adda, ci si immette sulla pista ciclopedonale che costeggia il fiume per arrivare al Parco “Addio Monti” di Pescate. Si prosegue attorno al lago di Garlate, dove si incontra il Civico Museo della Seta Abegg. Si continua verso il lago di Olginate, si oltrepassano la diga e il ponte, per raggiungere così l’ex ponte ferroviario del Lavello, riqualificato e reso ciclopedonale, che collega le due sponde permettendo il percorso ad anello. Da non perdere a Calolziocorte la chiesa del Convento di Santa Maria del Lavello, gioiello di architettura religiosa. Sulla via del ritorno, in località Vercurago, si ammirano i resti del Castello dell’Innominato e il Santuario di San Girolamo. Ultima tappa è il borgo di Pescarenico, rione di Lecco di manzoniana memoria, con la chiesa dell’ex Convento dei Cappuccini e la suggestiva piazza Era, dove si può ammirare la “Lucia”, tipica imbarcazione lariana.

SULLE TRACCE DI LEONARDO Una proposta a tema per scoprire alcuni dei luoghi che ispirarono il genio di Leonardo da Vinci. Si inizia dalla diga di Paderno d’Adda e, risalendo di poco il fiume verso nord, si giunge al Sasso di San Michele e al famoso ponte di ferro a singola campata (ponte di Rothlisberger), posto a circa 80 m. sopra il letto del fiume. Continuando sulla strada sterrata, si incontra una prima centrale idroelettrica, La Semenza e una seconda centrale idroelettrica, Esterle, che riceve le acque del canale Edison alimentato dalla diga di Robbiate. Si giunge quindi a Imbersago dove è possibile imbarcarsi sul traghetto leonardesco oppure sulla “Addarella” per una vista del territorio dal fiume. A Lecco si può ammirare il Ponte Azzone Visconti, che alcune interpretazioni riconoscerebbero addirittura sullo sfondo della Gioconda, nel curioso ponticello dalle tipiche arcate di misura variabile, di architettura diversa dai ponti toscani. Si consiglia una tappa in Valsassina, luogo dove Leonardo venne più volte per visitare le miniere di argento e ferro, nonché per un progetto di ristrutturazione della Rocca di Bajedo su ordine di Ludovico il Moro. Collegandosi alla Val d’Esino, da non perdere la Ghiacciaia del Moncodeno, raggiungibile a piedi dalla località Cainallo (sentiero 25 - tempo di percorrenza 1h 15 min). Infine, sul lago, dal centro di Varenna si raggiunge a piedi in 20 minuti la sorgente del Fiumelatte, che Leonardo descrisse per la particolare brevità del corso e per l’assordante rumore.

Then take a hike in Val d’Esino to the Icebox of Moncodeno, reachable on foot from Cainallo (trail no. 25 – about 1 hour 15 minutes). Reach the lake and, just outside Varenna, the Fiumelatte stream mentioned by Leonardo because of its short river course and the deafening sound of its waters.

Alimentato dal Lambro e cantato da Giuseppe Parini: il lago di Pusiano è un piccolo tesoro da scoprire. Zona protetta, in cui è consentita la navigazione con motori elettrici: il Comune di Bosisio Parini nel 2004 ha dato in gestione alla Pro Loco di Bosisio Parini il battello elettrico chiamato Vago Eupili, con lo scopo di promuovere l’econavigazione sullo specchio d’acqua e il turismo della zona. Il tragitto che prevede un tour di con visita guidata dal molo di Bosisio, della durata di un’ora e trenta minuti riprenderà il 13 giugno 2021. La visita guidata racconterà le tipicità naturalistiche del luogo (flora, fauna ed ecosistema) arricchendo il tutto con notizie storiche e approfondimenti culturali. Durante il tour sarà possibile “sbirciare” le meraviglie faunistiche e storiche dell’Isola dei Cipressi. Il ventaglio di proposte prosegue con le gite scolastiche: la Pro Loco propone escursioni didattiche a bordo del battello, visite guidate sul territorio e presso il Cavo Diotti - la diga più antica d’Italia - uniti a laboratori didattici. Anche quest’anno sarà possibile noleggiare il battello per pranzi, cene o aperitivi a bordo, con partenza da Bosisio oppure dai moli di Pusiano, Moiana e Casletto. Infine, tornando a terra, spicca il Percorso Pariniano, itinerario culturale attraverso il villaggio di Bosisio alla scoperta dei luoghi amati dal celebre poeta: dalla Chiesa Vecchia di Sant’Anna alla Casa Museo Parini, da Palazzo Cesati alla Villa Appiani - Banfi Cantù.
