* The accuracy class and the lock-up pressure class stipulated by the DVGW type tests are confirmed under the following conditions: "The inlet pressure may exceed the ∆ pe-figure stated in the table at the most by twice its value, provided the inlet pressure deviations ∆ pe does not exceed the p emax-value stated in the table. However, it may not exceed the nominal pressure rating." The limitation of the inlet pressure range ∆ pe for a diaphragm assembly is not given for reasons of material strength but in the interest of maintaining the regulating accuracy.

RMG 330, DN 25 and DN 50 This gas pressure regulator was designed to keep the outlet pressure of a gaseous medium constant in the mains and independent of disturbing influences like inlet pressure and/or flowrate changes. The RMG 330 consists of a main valve body and the units "regulator" and "safety shut-off valve" (SSV measuring unit). Both units can easily be removed from the body by loosening the connection screws. This advantage of easy maintenance offers the following possibilities: For regular maintenance the parts of the regulator and shut-off control elements can be taken out of the body and easily subjected to a visual inspection. In case of failure the

8

regulator and shut-off units can be replaced by spare units, and the repair works can be carried out in the workshop without having to shut down the system. A compensating diaphragm ensures pressure balance at the control element of the regulator main valve which can be equipped with orifices of various sizes. The regulating assembly can be equipped with a leakage relief valve (SBV) as an optimal feature. The outlet pressure to be controlled is fed to the diaphragm assembly via the measuring line.

Gas Pressure Regulator RMG 330 regulating assembly setpoint adjusting screw setpoint spring leakage relief valve SBV measuring diaphragm compensating diaphragm final control element

control element of SSV SSV diaphragm ball release mechanism setpoint springs SSV measuring unit

RMG 330, DN 80 and DN 100 The measuring diaphragm takes up the actually prevailing outlet pressure and compares it to the setpoint value preadjusted and given by the force of the setpoint spring. Any deviation of the outlet pressure from the setpoint will cause a corresponding change of the valve stem position, and the resulting change in flow rate will re-adjust the outlet pressure to the setpoint.

The SSV measuring diaphragm and switching bush then moves into the release position, and the ball mechanism sets the valve stem free to close the SSV valve. The safety shutoff valve can be re-opened by hand only, after the outlet pressure at the measuring point has been restored to a value below the re-engagement differential (after a preceeding overpressure release) or to a value above the re-engagement differential (after a preceeding underpressure release).

The regulator gives tight shut-off on zero flow. The control element of the safety shut-off valve (SSV) installed in the inlet side of the body cuts off the gas flow if the outlet pressure in the main rises above or falls below preset limits.
