Basket Making with Judith Needham
£25.00 per person All materials and tools provided
Come and spend a fun and relaxing day learning the art of willow weaving with Farnham-based basket maker, Judith Needham. We will start by making a Catalonian tension tray. You will then have the option of adding a rim to make a shallow fruit bowl or a twisted handle to make a dramatic display basket. This project incorporates a variety of techniques so will be interesting to those who’ve attended Judith’s classes before, but is equally suitable for complete beginners.

During this day long workshop you will learn how to cut glass, drill and engrave it and use traditional enamel pigments. You will produce a small medallion that can be hung in a window or turned into a mobile. All the materials, including hand-blown glass, will be supplied. Tools and expert tuition will be provided. Bring along lunch and any images that inspire you. This lecture will outline how to protect your copyright, design right and business name in the marketplace. There are special areas of copyright law such as Artistic Craftsmanship. In this era of copy-culture this talk hopes to raise important issues when showcasing your work on social media, blogs and websites. More intriguingly you might have small sums of money waiting for you to collect from DACs the Design & Artists Copyright Society. The second part of the workshop will explore the exciting and gripping topic of income tax and how to make the tax system work for you.
