128th Annual Meeting & Business Luncheon
Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Century House in Acushnet, MA The Chamber’s 128th Annual Meeting & Business Luncheon will be held Thursday, November 13th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Century House located at 107 South Main St. Acushnet, MA. The event is an opportunity to join other business and community leaders and celebrate business people working together for the future of New Bedford and the SouthCoast. Keynote speaker, Ted Reinstein, a native of the Boston suburb of Winthrop, has been a reporter, producer and occasional anchor for WCVB-TV Channel 5’s “Chronicle,” since 1995. Reinstein was part of the Chronicle team that received the prestigious National DuPont-Columbia Award for coverage of Boston’s Big Dig project. Since 2004, he has written a weekly

Bridgewater Savings Bank Revamps its Image and Approach to Better Meet Customer Needs
Bridgewater Savings Bank (BSB) has revealed a new look, highlighting their
President and CEO Ross R. Upton announced that St. Anne’s earned two Golds and a Silver in the Second Annual New England Financial Marketing Awards competition.
St. Anne’s Credit Union recently captured three top awards in a “best financial marketing initiatives” competition open to credit unions and community banks throughout New England.
Downing, a member of Leadership SouthCoast’s class of 2009, has served on its Board of Directors since 2010 and has been the Board’s Chair since 2012. Since 2001, Jennifer has held both administrative and programmatic positions at the Garfield Foundation. In recent years, she served as the Operations Manager and Program Officer for the New Bedford Fund, a
place-based grant portfolio supporting community and economic revitalization projects in New Bedford. Michael Metzler, Leadership Southcoast’s current Executive Director, states, “I strongly support Jennifer in being selected as the new Executive Director of Leadership SouthCoast. I first met her in 2009 and was impressed with her leadership skills and ideas from the very beginning. Since that time I have watched her grow as a leader, not just with Leadership SouthCoast, but in the community in her work at Garfield, and as a recognized leader among regional funders. In Leadership SouthCoast, Jennifer instituted innovative approaches as the program committee’s chair and was a champion and facilitator of the strategic planning process. Over the last year, as Board Chair, she led the effort for the fundraising campaign, in support of a new business plan for the future. She personally raised over $100,000 of the $162,000 total in the Fundraising Campaign.” Leadership SouthCoast is a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts.
