Governor Charlie Baker was inaugurated as the 72nd Governor of Massachusetts on January 8th, 2015. Upon taking office, Governor Baker worked to close two budget gaps worth more than $2 billion without raising taxes, while bolstering local aid for our schools and communities, investing in a more reliable public transportation system and prioritizing funds to fight the opioid and heroin epidemic. Governor Baker has supported robust business sectors by reforming the Commonwealth's regulatory environment, holding the line on taxes, and advancing efforts to rein in energy costs.

Ensuring Massachusetts continues to be a national leader in education, Governor Baker has invested over $4.6 billion in Chapter 70 education funding -- the highest level of local education aid in state history.

David Danis: Inspiration at its Finest David Danis is an inspirational young man with an amazing attitude toward life. Danis lives a full life that includes four jobs, two hobbies and a busy social life with his many friends. Danis has been working at Friendly Pizza in South Dartmouth for 20 years where he makes hundreds of pizza boxes during his shift. He has worked at Olive Garden in Dartmouth for 17 years where he provides maintenance services in the dining area before the store opens. He has worked at Home Depot for 15 years where he works throughout the store helping and providing general maintenance. David also has a fourth job at Big Value Outlet where he has worked for 7 years. His job responsibilities there are to stock the shelves and price the items before they go on the shelves. The store owner David Tatelbaum is not only Danis’s

boss but he also attends the same synagogue as Danis, where they attend services each Saturday. Each Saturday he worships at the synagogue where he participates in their services with others from his congregation. He especially enjoys following Jewish traditions and celebrating Jewish holidays. David loves the challenge of overcoming the obstacles that occasionally come his way. Gregory Yurovitsky is his mentor and friend. Yurovitsky says, “It is an enriching experience. I’ve learned so much from David”. He taught me to reach for the best I can be and to stay positive”. Yurovitsky goes on to say that, whenever Danis is faced with a new and difficult challenge he will ask David how he feels about the challenge and David’s reply is “I love it.”
