It’s incredibly important that we all purchase seafood products with the blue MSC ecolabel which means that seafood comes from a sustainable, well-managed fishery which minimises its impact on the marine environment, helping to protect the oceans and ensure there are fish left in the sea for future generations to enjoy.

This year, Sustainable Seafood Week runs from 16th to 23rd September with the theme ‘All Hands on Deck’. We all have a shared responsibility to protect the ocean – from the brave fishers out on the seas, the processors or other players in sustainable fishing communities, those involved in the supply chain, right through to the end consumer – it takes all of us doing our bit to ensure that fish populations can reproduce to healthy numbers, and in turn feed future generations of seafood lovers.

As the UK’s biggest specialist seafood brand, Young’s remains at the forefront of sustainable practices and is dedicated to driving these strategies forward. As such, the complete Young’s range is sustainably sourced in accordance to the company’s Fish for Life initiative and much of the range now features the MSC eco-label. Operators can therefore proudly promote the MSC eco-label on their menu when choosing Young’s and help plug the knowledge gap by highlighting this to their customer base.

By choosing products with the blue fish ecolabel, operators can make a big difference and help protect our oceans. Buying from a trusted source such as Young’s and recognising the MSC labelling will provide confidence that not only is the fish being served sustainable, but it is also great quality and delicious too. #ALLHANDSONDECK #CHOOSETHEBLUEFISH
