The final three for Best Newcomer at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023 has been announced today, by the National Federation of Fish Friers

The top three, based across Staffordshire, Yorkshire and Suffolk, have been finalised following extensive judging from an anonymous panel of industry experts.

The Best Newcomer category celebrates businesses that started no earlier than January 2021 and is sponsored by Sarson’s, the UK malt vinegar brand owned by Mizkan.

The top three shortlisted are:

Haughton Fish & Chips

Lighthouse Fisheries of Flamborough

Hendo’s Fish & Chips

Commenting on the news, Andrew Crook, President at the NFFF, said “The final three for Best Newcomer have now undergone three rounds of extensive judging and are well deserving of this shortlisting position. These businesses have opened during the most turbulent of times, so they deserve a lot of credit for building a successful business and serving their respective communities. It’s great to celebrate businesses who are continuing to succeed.”
