Our hope is that as you take the next step into the New Covenant community and get involved, you will begin to see that NC is more than just a Sunday Morning celebration; it is a family of everyday people following Jesus together to bring hope and change to the world - one life at a time.

Celebrating God’s goodness

receiving ~ finding ~ entering One of Jesus’ most beloved sayings is found in Matthew 7:7-8, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” What a beautiful promise that all of us can take hold of and believe applies to us. Jesus doesn’t place any restrictions or qualifications on His promise. He doesn’t say, “If you are this type of person or that type of person and you ask/seek/knock you will receive/find/enter.” He simply says if you do, you will. He then goes on to say that this promise applies to ‘everyone’. We should be a people characterized by receiving, finding and entering. Why is it then that many of us have experienced a perceived lack of answers to our prayers. While there are no qualifications made on the person doing the asking/seeking/knocking, there are other sections of the Bible that teach us how to ask of God. If we are to receive all that our generous God has for us, our asking, seeking, and knocking must be qualified by these other scriptures.

We must ask in faith (Mt 21:22 and Mr 11:24). We must ask without wavering (Jas 1:5-7). We must ask according to God’s will (1Jo 5:14-15). We must ask without selfish ambition (Jas 4:3). We must keep God as our main pursuit (Mt 6:33).

On January 29, we met for our first monthly worship night of the year and it was an amazing time enjoying God’s presence. As we worshipped this seemed to be God’s response to us, ‘Ask, Seek, Knock’. Over the course of the evening the same response came. It came at different times and to different people, “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened.”

It was as if God was saying I have more you. I have more for you to receive. I have more for you to find. I have more doors to open for you. Let’s begin to receive, find, and enter into all that God has for us. Let’s become a people characterized by by receiving, finding and entering. Our next Worship Night is Wednesday, February 26. Why not plan to join us as we continue to trust Jesus’ words to ask, seek and knock knowing that when we do we will receive, find and enter all of the good things God has for us.

ASK and it will be given to you

SEEK and you will find

KNOCK and the door will be opened to you Matthew 7:7
