Welcome to New Covenant! We believe God is good all the time and we gather on Sundays to celebrate His goodness. We are really glad you have decided to join us today! If you are new to New Covenant be sure to visit our Welcome Centre in the lobby to receive a special gift and a brochure designed to help you get the most out of your first few visits. Our hope is that as you take the next step into the New Covenant community and get involved, you will begin to see that NC is more than just a Sunday Morning celebration; it is a family of everyday people following Jesus together to bring hope and change to the world - one life at a time.
Celebrating God’s goodness
The saying goes, ‘You only get one chance to make a good first impression.’ According to the experts a church only gets 7 minutes to make their first impression a good one.
The Sermon Starts in the
Parking Lot.
First-time guests have decided whether or not they will return to a church within the first seven minutes of their visit. Before a song has been sung or a word of the sermon has been spoken our guests have decided whether or not they will give us a second try. That means our guests are basing their decision to return or not on the physical appearance of the building (including how easy it is to navigate) and the friendliness of the people. Over the last year we have made great improvements in this area. You do a great job of making new people feel welcome. We have remodelled our Children’s Ministry area and lobby, created a Welcome Centre and Welcome Brochure, hung directional signage, started ‘New to NC Lunches’ and we continue to develop our hospitality team so that they are always improving. But there is still room for improvement Col. 4:5 says, “Live wisely among those who are not believers, making the best use of the time.” Seven minutes is not a lot of time but it’s all we get. We want to make sure we are making the most of that time.
Our building is 20 years old, and like a 20 year old home it is in need of some updating so that our guests have a positive first impression as they enter our building and are deciding whether or not they will return for a second and third visit. To address this we have set aside Sunday, May 25 as ‘The Day of Pay in May’ day. On this Sunday we will be receiving a special offering which will go to making improvements to our building with a focus on improvements that will have the greatest impact on our guests first impressions. We are suggesting that each family give the equivalent of one day’s wage. We recognize this is a large sum above and beyond your regular giving but we feel it is important to the vision and mission of our church and believe you will get behind the campaign. Please prayerfully partner with us as we endeavour to position ourselves to reach our community more effectively and see more lives changed by Jesus!
