Minimalism Understanding Minimalism in relation to the brief In order to create a sucessful solution I will need to research into how other designers have sucessfuly achieved a minimal approach, yet captured the overall essence of the vehicle.

This product may be aimed at a young child, yet it still follows the minimalistic form. This product can only be put together in numerical order, educating the child, numbers, order and simple colours in a minimalistic manner. This to an older child can be indentified as a trian due to its stream-lined characteristics.

As a young child it is important to identify key features of the ‘block’. Firstly the child may already notice that the ‘block’ is a Bus, due to the size of the body and diameter of the wheels. In addition like the Sacco train the child will be learning basic colours while using the toy. My project does not focus on educational value but the product should provoke a thought for the client to notice the key features and interpret those features as an MGB.
This product is more what my project is aimed toward, making a simple form look like a sports car by identifying the correct proportions with the body and wheels This vehicle gives of many different ideas, in that it could be a single seater due to the circular form inside the body as the driver. Also notice that the wheels and ‘driver’ are the same colour, is this because the driver can input on the steering and speed? This essence is what I want to capture within my car.

Due to the low ride height of this vehicle and elongated bonnet Hovers has icreated a 2 seater sports car. Key features include the angle of the front and rear windscreen, obviously the ride height and long bonnet.

Clearly identifyable as an Amerian yellow taxi, mainly due to the olour but in addition to that the box on the roof. Also the negative angle on the rear of the vehicle is a similar feature found on the Ford Crown Victoria - The most iconic service vehicle in the US.
Again due to the simple decal this vehicle can be identified as a mail van, also due to the colour. It could be suggested that the van is similar to a compact van due to the height of the cab and storage area. Due to the cab and storage area being seperate it could be argued that this vehicle could be a classic morris minor van.
