From the Director’s Desk: Well, we made it through the heat of another summer. Now things cool down, nights get chilly, leaves turn and fall, school buses are back (as are kids walking to/from school), and pumpkin spice everything takes over.
The Senior Center, Meals On Wheels, and the YMCA/Recreation Center are having a dual-site Open House on Wednesday, Oc tober 26th from 10am - 2pm. Both locations (124 Pleasant Street and 655 Gage Street) will be showing their spaces and offering information on programming. We would love to see you! Please remember to start giving yourself an extra five minutes to reach your destination if you are driving; school buses and school crossings can cause delays in your drive time. If the bus’s flashing lights are on, do not pass. Children cross in front of the bus and you may not see them. There are hefty penalties for passing a stopped school bus with its lights flashing and stop sign out. According to the AARP website, the pen alty in Vermont is a fine of up to $1000, and 4 points on your license! Stay vigilant and keep school kids safe. Enjoy the autumn weather.
